My first incarnation of realitycheckBBS was running Telegard with a 24oo baud modem, with no offline door (yet). I was in Fidonet, but the focus of my BBS was NIRVANAnet, a local othernet we'd set up. I'd see people dial in and use all 30 or so minutes, and as soon as they'd hang up, another caller would connect. I'd wake up in the morning and see phreakers from Europe calling in to use their time. It wasn't until another year or so that I installed a BlueWave door and people started trading packets.
