Police are investigating after a body was found in Dunedin yesterday - and it
may have been there "for some time".


The person was found dead on Garfield Avenue in Roslyn.


"Initial indications suggest the deceased may have been at the scene for some
time," a police spokesperson said.


"Investigations are in their infancy as police are working with ESR and a
scene team to remove the deceased for forensic pathology examination, formal
identification is yet to take place."


ESR is the Institute of Environmental Science and Research, which provides
consulting in forensic science such as crime scene investigation.


"More information will be released when we are in a position to do so,"
