Subj : Man comes down from Auckland cliff after 'concerning behaviour'

An incident of "concerning behaviour" which led to a man climbing onto a
cliff was resolved safely overnight in Auckland's Orewa.


Emergency services responded to the ongoing incident at Hilltop Rd near Red
Beach after an initial report of "threatening behaviour" which "developed
into a rescue incident" at 4.15pm on Thursday.


A police spokesperson said upon arrival, a man left the area on foot and
climbed onto a cliff area.


"Multiple emergency services were in attendance to ensure his safety as there
were concerns for his wellbeing."


The man subsequently brought himself down from the area without issue and
emergency services were stood down.


No injuries were reported to anyone involved.
