In a statement police said a vehicle collided with a power pole on West Coast Rd shortly after 5am, which caused some power disruption in the area. "As a result of the damage to the pole, some customers are currently without power in the area," a Vector spokesperson confirmed. Vector said crews were currently onsite to repair and safely restore power to affected customers later today. "We thank those in the area for their patience." "Thankfully, the driver has not been seriously injured," police said. The road is currently blocked in both directions between Bowers and Pleasant roads. Auckland Transport said multiple bus stops remain closed because of the crash.
