A serious crash involving two vehicles has seen all lanes on State Highway 1
at Hampton Downs close.


Police responded to the crash at around 12.05pm at the Hampton Downs Rd
interchange, with two vehicles believed to be involved.


"Initial indications suggest there are serious injuries," police said.

All lanes in both directions are now closed, with diversions being put in
place at the Rodda Rd on-ramp and Hampton Downs off-ramp.


Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.


NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advised drivers to "allow extra time for the
short detour".
