The owners of the building are calling the development a "game-changer" for Hamilton. The 191-bed Pullman hotel over 13 levels will involve an extensive retro-fit and transformation of the Mistry Centre - located within the Centre Place shopping mall on Ward St. Two underground levels of parking, three levels of office and retail space, and a rooftop bar and restaurant are also planned for the building which was originally completed in 1980. The current owners of the Mistry Centre, Sanjil Mistry and Pienaar Piso, said the new development would be a "game-changing opportunity" for Hamilton and the surrounding region. "We couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved to date and what we know this hotel will achieve for Hamilton," said Piso. "This project is truly a testament of being stronger together." Mistry said the building will be "iconic" for Hamilton. "There is plenty of work to be done, and over the coming months there will be visual changes to the building." Accor, the largest hotel operator in New Zealand, will operate the hotel under its premium Pullman brand. Hamilton mayor Paula Southgate said the development would be "transformational" and timely to "rejuvenate the central city". "As New Zealand's fourth largest city, and one of the fastest growing, we are now the fifth most visited region in the nation, with visitors spending around $1.9 billion here annually. "This hotel will create more than 100 jobs and contribute to attracting more visitors and events to our beautiful city and region, boosting our local economy." --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A44 2020/02/04 (Windows/64) * Origin: S.W.A.T.S BBS Telnet swatsbbs.ddns.net:2323 (63:10/102) .
