I found plenty of videos on YT to help guide me through anything I could
not figure out.  IIRC, with either one, I do have to load the master
video each time I want to cut out an episode (or, with my own videos,
when I want to cut out a smaller portion to save).  I found them to be
mostly intuitive for that task.

You load the master video into the timeline, choose the cut option (IIRC,
for both, that is an icon that looks like scissors),  place the cursor at
the beginning of the episode, click to cut, and delete anything before the
cut that you don't want to be part of this video.

For the end of the episode, repeat the steps, placing the cursor at the
end of the episode.  Then you save it.

Both of them have windows where you can play the video to find the point
where you want to start cutting.
