This program will not work with 64-bit versions of Windows since Microsoft does not include a DOS virtual machine (NTVDM) with those versions of Windows. Since you run the 32 bit version you should be alright. Just run the 16 bit FOSSIL driver DOSXTRN.EXE stated above and see if that fixes it. You might be getting the Error 200 or divide by zero error on faster processors: Runtime error 200 Some 16-bit DOS programs (including many old doors) which were written and compiled with Turbo Pascal will have a problem (divide by zero) running on faster computers. The error will show itself upon execution of the door something like this: Runtime error 200 at 345A:0091 This is a well known problem (often referred to as “RTE200”) and there are several programs which you can use to 'patch' the .EXE files to fix the problem. Which patch works seems to depend upon the program in question. ftp://vert.synchro.net/main/util/patchcrt.zip This is an entire page on the subject matter with links to several patching programs. You may need to patch the .EXE files before you can even install or setup the door. make sure you are using the proper BBS settings: http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:door:fe Name Falcons' Eye v1.06 Internal Code FE Start-up Directory ../xtrn/fe Command Line fe Clean-up Command Line Execution Cost None Access Requirements Execution Requirements Multiple Concurrent Users Yes Intercept Standard I/O No Native (32-bit) Executable No Modify User Data No Execute on Event No BBS Drop File Type (R) Solar Realms DOORFILE.SR Place Drop File In Start-Up Directory Good luck I hope it fixes it for you. If anyone figures out how to configure DOSEMU under Linux to run these doors, please let me know. --- þ Synchronet þ Normad BBS Telnet bbs.normad.com port 23 for Retrocomputing talk .
