First - yes, I know this is replying to an old message, but

Second - this is a GREAT read and great story!!! I'm not a
high fantasy fan, but everyone (in the gaming world) knows
D&D and has (hopefully fond) memories of it...

I've never been to a 'big' comic con, but have been to some local shows
and ALWAYS had a good time! Have been to Gencon twice as well. Next weekend
is a local toy/hobby/comic show in Memphis I'm hoping to hit...

Yeah - we don't get together in person much anymore, but we still play 
'pencil and paper,' we just use PDF's now and we use Slack to play as
much as possible. For over 3 years we were getting together weekly to
use roll20 to play. This works for us because the closest two players 
are to each other are me and Chris, and that's a 30 minute drive. The
other three? One 2 hours away, one in Florida and one in Indy... No way
we could get together 'live' any more than once or twice a year...
