Back when DS9 was still on TV I watched it, but I don't remember thinking it
was very good.  There seemed to be a whole lot of talk and diplomacy, and not a
 lot of action.  The characters just didn't seem as engaging as TNG.  

However, it seems that many folks consider DS9 to have the best story of all
the series.  So I'm about ready to dive in and rewatch the series with "new
eyes" and see how it goes.
