However, the idea of having crews swap sides mid-outing might make rowing more
appealing to the Great Unwashed aka TV audiences.  OK it wouldn't be "proper"
rowing, but many other sports have created TV-friendly formats to raise their
profile (e.g. the various limited over formats in cricket).  Coastal rowing and
 beach sprints undoubtedly have a role to play here, and indoor rowing has
benefited from this last weird year - perhaps that will help reverse the
funding reduction eventually.
