Subj : Torn biceps tendon To : rec.sport.rowing From : Brian Welch Date : Mon Jun 15 2020 11:53 am Just tore a biceps tendon. I am 62, currently row 5-7 days a week before work (M-->F). Only about 5k, due to the open hours of the park where I row (and having to go to work). Is this a common rowing result? Could it be the result of poor technique? My Dr, neither an orthopedist, nor a rower, mentioned it can be a result of overuse, but more importantly, usually the result of other shoulder funtionality issues, rotator cuff, athritis, bursitis, tendonitis, etc where the biceps "jumps in" to compensate... The good news is the semi-chronic shoulder pain/impingement I had is now gone... He strongly recommended no surgery, but rather to strengthen the anterior deltoid which will pick up the slack regarding shoulder stability. --- SBBSecho 3.06-Win32 * Origin: SportNet Gateway Site (24:150/2) .
