Such a great episode in the fact that it has a double take on that idea of
seeking out 'new life' in the bynars and holograms. Later episodes were able to
 dive deeper because this episode, and I would also argue 'The Big Goodbye,'
helped pay the way for establishing that the holodeck could really do.

I think the Moritority Saga and Voyager's EMH Doc were important developments
of character in the way that we must question sentience and what it means to be
 alive.

Episodes like the one where Dr. Bashier gets to play James Bond is awesome. Lt.
 Barkley becoming the computer by manufacturing an MMI in the holodeck is
awesome. Geordi LaForge becoming good collegues with that original warp core
engineer was awesome. Worf and his hippie brother smuggling those primitive
people across planets to avoid their extention using the holodeck was awesome.

There's a lot of good content that came because we had access to that thing.
