slot as possible, so they had to pick and choose what to focus the on-screen
time on.

Just my opinion on the feeling of it's finale.

 finale, but overall compared with TNG's
finale or DS9 it felt rushed and a bit made-up on the fly.

I found that with a lot of later Voyager episodes, the writers started to rely
more and more on the tech-babble solutions to resolve the episode's problem at
the last second.

"Oh, I'll reroute the rama-stama-bing-bong relay into the flim-flam-a-scope to
tripple the shield power and destroy the bad guys!" type stuff.

Not that TNG ever did that... ;) well, at least nowhere near as often.

I think they (Voyagers production team) also knew there would be no feature
film future for the Voyager franchise, unlike TNG (and even DS9 had a chance at
