Alright. I'm going to ask a question that may sound stupid...

I've been hearing a lot about Docker lately, and have looked at their
website, but I'm not positive I know what it is...

It almost sounds like it's a portable VM, where you can have your OS and
whatever programs you want running inside. It is then portable, so another
person could run the same program with the same OS and setup.

Am I even close to having a basic understanding of it?

Thanks for helping this old guy try to understand new technology... ;)
