 I wanted to let you know what I ended up doing.  I picked up a model 3 B+
along with version 2 of the PiFace Display and Control.  I got the Pi up and
running earlier today with no issues, but I haven't been able to get it to
recognize the PiFace Display yet.

There's a known issue between the model 3 and the Display and Control and it
looks like
a
fix
was
put
in
Raspbian recently, but it doesn't seem to want to work for me either with or
without the "fix".

There's very little support on the PiFace site so it looks like I'm going to
have to work Google in the hopes of a fix.

I'll keep you posted.
