I have had similar things happen like that, where Firefox never had the same 
problems.  I like the fact we at least have (2) browsers, but I still don't 
like it when browsers or an operating system try to think for me and tell me 
that it won't allow a particular download or allow a particular program on my 
PC.

For instance, you have to go through hoops to get rid of Windows Defender.  It 
should be a simple option to disable it, but you have to do all types of 
registry hacks, GPOs, etc, to get rid of it.
