I've just tested to make sure fossil support works from both QEMU using a Win64 
 host and also dosbox staging.

Dosbox staging (https://dosbox-staging.github.io/) seems to be the only one  
that works reliably with dos apps.  I used the socket inheritance (so using  
normal Win32/Door32 and -socket on the commandline) and it worked.

Likewise the "Listen socket" support made using QEMU super easy, here's the  
commandline I  used to set the serial port (com1) to use the bbs's listen  
socket (which is %Z in chainedit)

 -chardev socket,id=bbs,host=localhost,port=%1 ^
 -serial chardev:bbs ^


Hope this helps.

btw, the ^ is a line continuation for DOS/Win32 just like \ is on *nix.
