It's amazing how far home automation technology has come in the last ten years  
or so. We only have a little going on here. Sometimes I feel lucky if I have  
enough time to change the oil and replace the furnace filter. If I didn't buy  
them for my birthday a few weeks back, we would've never put the xmas lights  
up outside. :)

This year I splurged and bought two 400' long strings of LED outdoor xmas  
lights. I have them strung up along the street side of our property, barn, and  
fence lines. Right now they are just a calming steady set of xmas colors. When  
the time is right, I am going to switch them to 'disco' mode and see how long  
it takes my neighbors to freak out.
