Subj : Offroad To : All From : Jahmas #1@255.Wwivnet Date : Sun Dec 27 2020 08:46 am Ok, so my oldest daughter that lives in LA, texted me the other day and said she wants an offroad vehicle (she drives a small hybrid). She is lusting after a Range Rover. I texted her back and said "Don't buy any British Leyland stuff!" She thinks they look pretty. I gave her the details of unit body construction vs frame rail construction, asked her what she was going to use it for etc., and how much money she intended to spend. She does go out into the desert and in the mountains a lot as both of my daughters are into hiking and camping. So I told her to pick out five cars she would like to test drive but right now LA is like a dystopian movie. She thinks the Bronco Sport might be just right for her. I think it's an ok choice for what she wants. I mean the platform is the Escape but it has generous ground clearance and both the transmission and engine are tried and true even if it would be the first year for the car. I even thought about it but ended up with a Subaru having had them in the past and, for my needs here on the cape, I don't need to pull a boat or anything. Just being practical.
