Yeah NTVDM is on it's way out. It's Sad but it makes sense. Millions of lines  
of code that isn't used by 95%+ of the users out there.  We are the exceptions. 
  Maintaining the backward compatibility in the OS for 8, and 16bit (and 12bit  
too) is a ton of work.  Simply removing it reduces bloat, memory footprint,  
debugging is easier, smaller attack surfaces, etc.  But yeah for us it's going  
to just get harder.
