I use the dollar cost average plan to try and mitigate that type of thing.  For 
instance, I had shares of Cloudflare (NET) in the mid $20s - all the way up to 
$211 in late 2019.  And rode it all the way back down to $43, and now it is 
around $100.  But during the entire ride, I bought in the $20s-$211 and 
everything in between.  My cost basis is well in the green, so all is well.
