The one thing I am regretting now is the infrastructure of our house. It is her house actually but we picked it out before I moved to the cape and got married. I have given her my half of the mortgage and utilities since I moved here in 2010. We've almost replaced all the windows, it has a new roof and will need a new boiler. It can certainly use some "sweat equity" like total paint which will be my task during retirement and I think a heat pump system would be prudent. Wish I would have delegated some funds to this first but... one thing at a time. You always throw money into your house.
