Libraries have always been, in many cases, on the forefront of offering  
patrons new tech, tools, etc.  I hear certain groups of people go "why do we  
need libraries?" and I think to myself "This is the type of person who has  
never set foot into one."

Today, our local library offers everything from 3D printers, tool checkout,  
electronic books (and paper books!), classes, tablets and mobile hotspots for  
checkout (for free), and the list goes on!
