It was related to it.

I have "CALLOUT_ANSI           = Y" in my WWIV.INI, so I get the ansi callout  
where you select a node from the list.  That should have been the default  
value in wwiv.ini.  That's why I didn't see the prompt.

I just fixed the default value to be 0 not 1 in the old case.  Try out  
ANSI_CALLOUT and let me know if you have any issues with it. I suspect that  
it's been in the code for 22 years now it's probably a good enough to have it  
be the only callout way.  

If you don't see any problems with CALLOUT_ANSI=Y in your wwiv.ini, let me  
know and I'll remove the old way, since it's not really needed anymore
