27th of August 2023, Sunday Hello Gophers! Spurred on by Matto: gopher://box.matto.nl:70/0/welcome-at-the-phloggersgarage.txt I am trying to do some more phlogging. He opened a channel on libera.chat with the name #phloggersgarage as a place for phloggers to discuss and be inspired. So here goes! I was struggling with my development system of choice: Lazarus. It just did not want to work, as it was (after official Debian install via apt) complaining about having the wrong settings. They were (in the file version.inc) in the directory ''/usr/lib/lazarus/2.2.6/ide'. That file was pointing to '2.2.6' which seemed to be correct. But it wasn't. The Debian/apt numbering system was refer- ring to it as '2.2.6-dfsg2-2', but putting that in the file did not help, so I was stumped. I put the problem away for a few hours and went to do something else. Of course I can not stand this so after some time I went back and started tinkering again. All of a sudden I saw that the title of the Lazarus interface GUI I was working in was referring to '2.2.6-dfsg2-2+b1', so I tried that. And voila it worked! So I was happy again. For completeness: I am running Debian Sid with a 6.4.0.3-amd64 kernel and I run XFCE. I think I should put up a bug report somewhere, but to be honest I would not know where at the moment. I hope some of you will be helped with this small piece of info... Have a nice sunday! Cheers, Fripster 0--------1---------2---------3---------4---------5---------6---------7---------8
