IOzone runs on practically all flavors of UNIX, VMS, MS-DOS, Tandem GUARDIAN, etc. It tests the speed, in bytes-per-second, that your system can read and write sequential files. New for version 2.01 is support for both raw devices and CD-ROM devices under UNIX, using the auto-test feature of IOzone. Note that starting next week I may be reached at b_norcott@xway.com IOzone is distributed as a shell archive, see directions below Regards, Bill Norcott .
