Loading screens =============== Ah, the loading screens: those brief moments of downtime while your game loads the next level or area. One way they can be used is to give players tips and tricks for playing the game; for example, a loading screen might suggest that players invest skill points in some skills in order to overcome certain scenarios. Another idea is to use loading screens to convey lore about the game world: the player can be given small pieces of information about the history, culture, or even geography of the world. For Caves Of, I want both! The idea is to create two characters, named "The Librarian" and "Auntie May". The former would provide players with information about the game's lore, while the latter would offer tips for gameplay. During loading screens, the game would randomly select a paragraph from one of the two characters and display it on the screen with the label "Auntie May says" or "The Librarian says". Additional characters could be created to serve different roles, such as providing gossip (not super useful for Caves Of) or revealing pieces of the protagonist past.
