He makes a bold offer that if anyone who can survive through all six worlds of his park will receive a prize of a hundred million dollars. No one has ever lived to claim the prize. We now happen upon the Horror Movie Research Club, headed by Eriko Christy. The club consists of herself, and three friends. One of Eriko's fellow members manages to get invitations to Reynolds' theme park for everyone. Everyone's pretty excited about going to Illbleed with the exception of Eriko, who is a little skeptical. She decides not to join the rest of her club, and they go on to Illbleed without her. A few days later, Eriko's friends turn up missing. With nothing else to go on, Eriko decides to investigate Illbleed for herself. ======== CONTROLS ======== --------------- CAMERA CONTROLS --------------- The camera can be switched anytime during the game with the Direction Pad. The choices are : Auto Follow 1, Auto Follow 2, Semi-Auto Follow 1, and Semi-Auto Follow 2. Select each mode by pressing either up or down on the Direction Pad to cycle through the choices. In Auto Follow mode, the camera will always be behind you. In Semi-Auto Follow mode, the camera won't always be behind you while you're moving. Use this to look around corners or to see the entire area. In any camera mode, press the L trigger to swing the camera behind you. -------- MOVEMENT -------- The analog stick controls walking and running. With the analog stick in a neutral position, lightly press the analog stick in the direction you want to go to walk. When your character begins to walk, no matter how much pressure you put on the analog stick, your character will remain walking. With the analog stick in a neutral position, firmly press the analog stick in the direction you want to go to start running. If you want to run from a walking motion, release the analog stick briefly, then immediately press it firmly in the direction you want to quickly start running. The following is a run down of the button functions for the situations you face in the game. BASIC OPERATIONS ---------------- X button - Jump Y button - Bring up Area Map A button - Investigate B button - Cancel L trigger - Swing Camera Behind You R trigger - First Person View / Use Horror Monitor Start - Bring up Menu DURING BATTLE ------------- X button - Jump Y button - Use Short Range Weapon (or Slap / Punch) A button - Dodge (use with the analog stick to sidestep attacks) B button - Call the Helicopter (when standing on Helipad) L trigger - Not Used R trigger - Use Long Range Weapon Start - Pause ==================== GAME SCREEN DISPLAYS ==================== --------------------- THE FOUR SENSES METER --------------------- In Illbleed, the character you control has a meter at the top of the screen showing four senses: Sight, Hearing, Smell and Sixth Sense. During play, you will see a flat line going through each section of the meter when there are no shock events, enemies, or items around. A "Shock Event" happens when your character approaches any given area in a stage that triggers something to startle you, or possibly injure you. This can range from a sudden noise, to an enemy jumping out and hitting you. When there is enemy activity, shock events, or items near you, the meter will start to become active by a wave coming up on one or more senses. The closer you are to the enemy attack, shock event or item, the larger the wave in the meter becomes. Sight reacts when your character sees something that looks suspicious. Hearing reacts when your character hears something. Smell reacts when your character smells something. Sixth Sense reacts when you are close to an item, or an enemy attack. Be careful if ANY of your senses starts reacting with a flashing blue background. There may be an enemy waiting for you. ----- PULSE ----- The monitor in the lower right of the screen that looks like a heart is your heart meter / pulse rate. If you are startled by a shock event, attacked by an enemy, or if you sidestep an attack, your pulse rate will increase. If it gets too high, you can be shocked to death, or you may faint, causing you to become unable to do anything until you wake up, or an enemy attacks you. You can lower your pulse rate by using items, or simply standing still. ---------- ADRENALINE ---------- The monitor in the lower left corner that looks like a brain is your adrenaline meter. Everytime you use your Horror Monitor, the amount of adrenaline in your brain will go down. Regain adrenaline by using items, defeating enemies, or warning yourself of shock events. -------- STRENGTH -------- The long green meter at the bottom of the screen is your strength meter. When you are injured by an enemy, or you're hurt by a shock event, your strength meter goes down. Regain strength by using items. -------- BLEEDING -------- When injured in an attack or shock event, a red meter shows up above your strength meter. This is your bleeding meter. It tells you how fast your character is losing blood. If it fills up all the way, your character dies from loss of too much blood. Slow the bleeding down by using items, or simply standing still. Also, if your bleeding rate gets too high, anytime your character runs, jumps, or sidesteps, the bleeding rate steadily increases. If the rate of bleeding gets very high, your heart rate will start to drop rapidly. ------------------ THE HORROR MONITOR ------------------ This valuable device allows you to "warn" yourself of possible shock events, enemy attacks, and item locations. The Horror Monitor is usually located near or at the very beginning of each stage. You'll know when you are near it because it is the only thing that causes all your senses to react at the same time. When all senses become active, slowly look around, and press the A button to investigate the area. Press the R trigger to activate / deactivate the Horror Monitor. Activating the Horror Monitor will cost you 10 units of adrenaline. Now, use the analog stick to move the sensor around. When the Horror Monitor picks up on a shock event, attack, or item the sensor will zoom in on it. Press the A button to warn yourself, and a small blue light will appear at the spot. Everytime you warn yourself, it will cost you 40 units of adrenaline. After warning yourself, you can either approach the blue light, or avoid it entirely. If the blue light was a shock event, when you approach it, the light will circle around you, and give you some adrenaline. If the blue light remains still, it may be an item. If the blue light represents an enemy attack, when you approach it, the enemy attacks. However, because you warned yourself, the attack will not surprise you, allowing you to attack the enemy before it can fully react to you. Your pulse rate won't go up as much either. If you don't warn yourself for an enemy attack, your character will fall on their backside when the attack begins, and your pulse rate will go up in between 20 to 70 beats per minute. Rapidly tap the B button to get back on your feet. Use the analog stick to move around to avoid enemy attacks. NOTE: The Horror Monitor doesn't guarantee that you won't be attacked by enemies. Some attacks just happen at random in all of the stages. ========== CHARACTERS ========== Below is a brief description of the characters in the game, and what attributes they have in relation to each other. At the start, only Eriko is available. To use other characters, you must first rescue them, then you must finish the stage where they were found. ------------- ERIKO CHRISTY ------------- She's the leader of the Horror Research Club at her high school. Ever since she was 7 years old, she has been under constant exposure to horror films and attractions. Eriko has the lowest increase in pulse rate when startled or attacked by an enemy or shock event. She also gets up VERY fast when you fail to warn yourself of an enemy attack. All other attributes are average. -------------- KEVIN KERTSMAN -------------- He's laid back, and has a love for classic horror films. Any horror film labeled as a "splatter film" he instantly despises. He has an extensive knowledge of ancient horror legends and myths. Kevin is an all-around average character. ------------- MICHEL WATERS ------------- She's popular among the children of her community for her spiritual and telepathic skills. She is known for driving away evil spirits from children suffering from strange illnesses. Favors horror films that involve spirits and exorcisms. Michel has the highest adrenaline count of the group due to her strong mental abilities. However, her physical strength is the lowest. --------------- RANDY FAIRBANKS --------------- He's the newest member of the Horror Research Club, and favors the female roles in popular splatter films more than a plot. He has a huge horror memorabilia collection, including a chainsaw that was actually used in a splatter film worth ten thousand dollars. Randy has the highest physical strength of the group. However, his adrenaline count is the lowest. ========================= SHOP & STAGE DESCRIPTIONS ========================= -------------- PRE STAGE AREA -------------- This is the area you start in, and the area you go back to when you clear a stage. ------------------------ BLOODY MARY'S DRUG STORE ------------------------ This is the place where you can buy items before going to any area. --------------------- DUMMYMAN'S PHOTO SHOP --------------------- Take a photo of yourself to save your progress in the game. ------------ VISITOR BANK ------------ This is where dead characters that you have failed to rescue go. Pay money ( usually $375,000 each ) to revive them. -------------- EMERGENCY ROOM -------------- This is where to go to recovery your strength, pulse rate, adrenaline, and bleeding rate. You can also have a revival operation to bring dead characters back. There is also the option of "upgrading" your character to boost their stats. You can do this by finding body parts during the stages. --------- GRAVEYARD --------- This is the area where you are trained in the use of the Horror Monitor. It is located through the long tunnel to the right of the Emergency Room. First, investigate each sign with the "Lesson" label on it. These will tell you how to use your Horror Monitor, and how to read your Four Senses Meter. ----------- CINEMA ZONE ----------- This is the location of the entrances to each of the six theaters. Each stage of Illbleed has a list of requirements for you to complete. The requirements are : Prize Offered, Time Limit, Clear Traps ( how many shock events you warn yourself of ), Heart Rate, Hit Points, Adrenaline and Bleeding. NOTE: During some stages, you can find an entrance to the Emergency Room, and a small photo booth to save your game. ------------------ STAGE DESCRIPTIONS ------------------ The manual says that there is a Random system changing the location of traps and shock events. Items are in the same location though. I'm going to try not to give out too much in terms of spoilers that would take the fun out of the game for you. Besides, it's more fun to find these things out on your own. I'll help you find the Horror Monitor first, key items, and tips on those really tricky areas of the stages I've been through. --------------------------------------------------------- STAGE 1 : Minnesota Hell Cinema - "The Home Run of Death" --------------------------------------------------------- Requirements : Prize Offered - 50,000 dollars Time Limit - 50 minutes Clear Traps - 25 or more Heart Rate - 100 beats per minute or less Hit Points - 150 or more Adrenaline - 200 cc or more Bleeding - 20 cc per minute or less Before you start the level, head to Bloody Mary's Drug Store and pick up items. I prefer blood slowing or adrenaline building items. Also, head to the graveyard to pick up an injection ( adrenaline builder ), and a can of Hassy ( strength builder ). At the start of this level, go toward the gate. Your four senses monitor should be going off. Keep going forward through the hole in the boards in front of the gate. You'll get hit, but it won't hurt much. As soon as you are in the yard, go to the right. Here, you'll see a picnic area. Go through it, then face the house. You should see a tree here. Jump the fence to the picnic area, and move toward the tree. The Four Senses meter should be going off with all four senses reacting. Investigate the tree for your Horror Monitor. Search the rest of the yard for items using the Horror Monitor, then go inside the house. You're now in the lobby, check the area with your Horror Monitor, then head down the hallway. Make your way down this path and eventually you'll reach the showers. Do the same here as you did with the Lobby, check the area with the Horror Monitor as you explore. After leaving the showers, you should be in the Courtyard. Check the fountain for a key item, Jimmy's Baseball Bat. Check out the rest of the area, then head through doorway at the end of the Courtyard. You'll now be in the locker room. There's a Photo Booth here so you can save your progress. Check the area, then head to the next one. Follow the path out until you reach the kitchen. Check this area with the Horror Monitor, then head to the Lounge. In the lounge, check around the area with the Horror Monitor. Check the wall in this area for the next key item, Jimmy's Testimonial Plaque. After checking out the area, go on to the next area. You're now in a bedroom, check the area carefully with the Horror Monitor, then head out of here to the next area. You should be in the Living Room. Follow the path of the Living Room to the second portion of this room. Check the area for the second key item, Jimmy's Trophy, a V-shaped trophy with a baseball in the middle of it. Afterwards, go down steps and follow path to the second bedroom. Check this area with the Horror Monitor, and head to the next area. The next area has an entrance to the Emergency Room and a save point. Go down the steps to the basement. Check around the area to find the places where Jimmy's Testimonial and Trophy go. After placing the items, stand in the glowing batter's box to start a cinema. After the cinema, you'll fight with Banballow. He's invincible at this point, so there's no point in attacking him. Just lead him away for the helipad, and when you do so, run back to the helipad, then call it down quickly. Lead Banballow away if he gets too close to you while you're calling the chopper down. After escaping, you'll notice that the area Banballow came out of is now open to you. Go inside, then check the map. You have to navigate your way through this maze to the restroom, a long rectangular area. During this part, if at any time you hear the sound of metal grinding against concrete, that means Banballow is near, so be careful. If you touch, or come near him, you'll go into a battle with him, and he's still invincible. Use the helipad if you get caught. When you reach the restroom, a cinema begins, and you'll find your first friend, Kevin. After the cinema, check out the area with your Horror Monitor, then go after Banballow. Check your map, and head for the large area on the map. You'll still have to avoid Banballow like you did earlier until you reach it. BOSS FIGHT ---------- Banballow approaches you with the blowtorch, just run around him until his back is exposed then attack with the bat. If you get in front of him, he'll shoot you with the blowtorch. Use the sidestep to avoid injury. After the fight, approach Kevin, and he'll be officially rescued. Now, check the area carefully before you go up the steps to the next area. Head to the center of the room after checking around with the Horror Monitor. A cinema starts, then the last form of Banballow appears. Jump down into the water, then make your way to the shore. Use the map so you won't go the wrong way. Time your sidesteps to avoid Banballow’s swipes and strikes. Jump from plank to plank to make your way to the shore. After reaching the shore, go inside the Banballow control room, and watch the cinema. It should tell you what you have to do next. After taking out your frustrations on the controller, search the control panel for the last key item for the stage, the ID Card. Go back outside, and use the map to locate the Goal entrance. It should be off to the right of the shore. Hop the planks, then get to the edge of the goal. Use the ID Card on the reader, then go down the path. The stage is clear after you get to the gate. ----------------------------------------------------- STAGE 2 : Cinepanic - "The Revenge of the Queen Worm" ----------------------------------------------------- Requirements : Prize Offered - 80,000 dollars Time Limit - 30 minutes Clear Traps - 0 or more Heart Rate - 120 beats per minute or less Hit Points - 90 or more Adrenaline - 200 cc or more Bleeding - 30 cc per minute or less I suggest purchasing blood slowing and strength building items before you start this stage. Find the row of lighted vending machines in the first part of this level. Investigate them to get your Horror Monitor. Unfortunately it's stolen by a Monkiller. Don't panic. Search the rest of the area for items, and then head for the fence with a hole in it. Follow the path down the road, and you'll eventually see a cinema where the Monkiller who took your Horror Monitor has found a rather unique use for it. Continue searching the area and you'll eventually see another cinema begin. After this ends, keep looking for items. Most of them are in the Dust Boxes strewn all around the area. Be careful when you step on patches of dirt instead of asphalt. There are worms all around the area, and if you touch one of them, you'll get in a fight with them. After searching, head to the next area. Use the map if necessary. The next area has a fenced dirt area, a gas station, and a garage. Michel is in the garage. To get her, you have to fight three Monkillers. Before you go inside the garage, heal yourself with whatever you have. After defeating the Monkillers, Michel is officially rescued. Head to the gas station, then approach the door. Cinema begins. After this, go to the fenced dirt area. Above all else, DO NOT TOUCH THE GROUND. If you do, you'll get in a pointless fight with the invincible Queen Worm that boosts the Pulse Rate. Use your jump to hop on top of the wrecked car, then off of it to the concrete. Search the area for the first key item in this level, the Baby Bottle. Go back to the gas station and use the Baby Bottle for another cinema. After this, approach the picture on the wall for a cinema. Check out the area to find the next key item in this stage, the Rusty Key. Leave the gas station, then use the key on the gate of the gas station. Make your way to the water tower to find David's note on the location of the next key item of the area, the Flamethrower. Follow the path from the water tower to find the work hut. Check the movie billboards closest to the hut to find the Flamethrower, then go inside. Check around the hut to find the next key item, a Wrench. Leave the hut, then head back to the fenced dirt area. On your way, investigate all the billboards for any loose bolts. When you find one, use the Wrench to loosen it so it will fall. There should be three billboards that do this. Look for the signs that have Dummyman on it. After reaching the fenced dirt area, jump on the car, and off it to the concrete. You should now notice the signs that were loosened. They're making a path towards the back of the fenced dirt area. Use well timed jumps to get to the back. If you fall off and hit the ground, the Queen work attacks, and you'll have to start over. Once you hit the concrete near the back, you'll notice the oil drums. Investigate to find the place you can use to fill the Flamethower. As soon as you fill it up, the Queen Worm fight begins. BOSS FIGHT ---------- It's pretty straightforward here, Just keep moving, and when the Queen Worm comes up and sits still, use the Flamethrower. After the fight is over, investigate the three gas cans to get the last key item for the level, a Can of Gas. Go to the car parked next to the gas pump of the gas station, and use the Can of Gas. After doing this, a cinema begins, clearing the stage. --------------------------------------------- STAGE 3 : Boogie's Fun Movies - "Woodpuppets" --------------------------------------------- Requirements : Prize Offered - 120,000 dollars Time Limit - 50 minutes Clear Traps - 18 or more Heart Rate - 70 beats per minute or less Hit Points - 130 or more Adrenaline - 400 cc or more Bleeding - 15 cc per minute or less At this point you should have a good amount of cash on you. I suggest going to the Emergency room, and having an upgrading operation done on Michel. If you have found Biobody units, use them to upgrade Michel's physical strength. Afterwards, go to Bloody Mary's for some blood slowing, adrenaline building, and strength building items. I suggest you use Michel because at this point, she has the most adrenaline, and you'll be using the Horror Monitor quite a bit in this level. At the very start of the level go to the left, and look for a door that says "Staff Only". The Four Senses meter should be going off with all four senses reacting. Investigate the area for the Horror Monitor. Check the map, and navigate your way through the lumberyard using the Horror Monitor. You'll make your way to the front door of MacLachlan Chainsaws. Go inside. Go through the lobby in this area, and make your way up the stairs. You'll come to two statues on opposite sides of the stairway going down. Investigate each of them for items. The left statue has a key item, the Wood Memo. Afterwards, go down the stairs. Follow the path using your Horror Monitor checking for items and shock events. Make your way to the next area, and you should see a lot of tall boxes stored inside. Check the area out with the Horror Monitor, and you should see an empty box with Randy's name on it. Continue onward, and you'll see a cinema showing you what condition Randy is in. After the cinema continue following the path, and you'll go to the next area which contains an entrance to the Emergency Room. Go inside if you have to then go down the stairway to view another cinema. After the cinema, keep going downstairs to find a photo booth to save your progress. In the next area, you should see a lot of body bags hanging on the wall. Navigate your way through with the Horror Monitor, and another cinema will begin. After the cinema, look for a Woodcutter monster at the top of a staircase. Investigate him for another key item, a Piece of Wood. Afterwards, go down the staircase, and through the black curtain. Follow the path while using the Horror Monitor until another cinema starts. After cinema, keep following the path out until you see a small room next to a staircase going up. Check out the room using the Horror Monitor, then go inside to find another key item, Randy's Brain. Now, go up the staircase and follow the path until you see a keypad with a funny shape in it. Use the Piece of Wood to activate the keypad. Now, check out the Wood Memo. It has a work order on it for 3221 pieces of wood for 3 dollars apiece. Do the math for the price of the wood order. Did you get 9663? Cool. Now, input this number in the keypad to open a hatch, and view the cinema. After the cinema, jump down into the hole to start another cinema. You are now a Woodpuppet. You can use all your items in this form, but you cannot jump, you cannot sidestep, and you'll run slower than usual. You have two attacks, a twirling kick done with the Y button, and a spinning attack with the R trigger. Each attack can be modified by pressing the analog stick toward the enemy while pressing the buttons used to attack. After the cinema, use your map to navigate your way through the area. Use the Horror monitor to avoid shock events. You'll eventually make your way to a yellow lighted hallway with a small room to the left. Go inside the room to view a cinema. After the cinema, go to the right window to view another cinema. Investigate each window for guidelines to the Woodcutter contest. Now, go through the right door to go to the hunting area. Once in the hunting area, use your map, and navigate your way through the maze. This is just like the first level maze with Banballow, only there are more enemies to face. Make your way through the maze, and you'll eventually see a cinema with a Woodpuppet spinning its arms wildly speaking gibberish. That's Randy. Notice he's on a higher level than you. After the cinema, go forward to see a stairway blocked by a huge, old root. Investigate the root, then turn around and go straight ahead to find another key item, Wudolla Insects. Go back to the root blocking the stairs and use the Wudolla on it. After seeing how effective the Wudolla are, go up the steps to the upper level. Follow the path out, and you'll get to a room with a photo booth to save your progress. Use your map, and check out the rest of the area, then go to the next area. You'll see a doorway with a lot of vines on the walls and ceiling. Go inside, and use your map to navigate the area. There are Woodcutter monsters in here as well, so be careful. Check out the map, and go north. Find a white Emergency Room sign buried in the wall with an arrow pointing to the right. Go right at the sign, and follow the path out until you see two "doctors" working on a Woodpuppet. Heal yourself before you approach them. A cinema starts up, and afterwards, two Dummymen attack you. Defeat them to officially rescue Randy. Now, face the white ER sign, and head left. Follow the path out using your map, and you'll see the goal marker for the Woodcutter contest. After leaving the area, you'll be in a locker room. Navigate the area with your map while checking out the area with the Horror Monitor. There's a dark area on your map indicating an area that is below you. Head for this area. It is a stairway leading down. Go down to view a cinema involving a strange machine. Don't let it fool you, use the machine by investigating it. Afterwards, you have now returned to human form. Go back up the stairs, and you should see some boxes blocking your path. Now that you're human again, jump over them to go to the next area. Heal yourself as much as possible, then follow the path out to the next boss. BOSS FIGHT ---------- A big tree with a face and four huge vines. Attack the vines, and when you see the vines moving towards you, get ready to sidestep the incoming attack. Look out for the tree to spit acid on you when you get close to his face. After the fight is over, go out the door, and run forward until you reach the open gate clearing out the stage. ------------------------------------------------------------ STAGE 4 : Shock It To Me Theater - "Killer Department Store" ------------------------------------------------------------ Requirements : Prize Offered - 150,000 dollars ( Paid ) Time Limit - 1 hour, 15 minutes Clear Traps - 28 or more Heart Rate - 80 beats per minute or less Hit Points - 150 or more Adrenaline - 250 cc or more Bleeding - 40 cc per minute or less To me, any character is okay to use here. From Bloody Mary's, get some blood slowing, adrenaline building and strength building items. Notice that the money has been given to you before hand. There's a good reason for this, because you have to have a certain amount of cash on you to advance through the level. At the start of the stage, head to the left through the orange door. Check the bookcase for your Horror Monitor. Check the rest of the area for items with the Horror Monitor. Exit the room when done. Check the area with the shopping buggies to find a key item, a Severed Head. Afterwards, go through the store checking with the Horror Monitor. You should come to a stairway leading up to the Bakery. Go up to the Bakery, and check out the area for items, including a Hatchet. It should register in your Horror Monitor when you use it here. Leave the bakery when done, and continue onward to see a cake bouncing on the stage. At this point you can go to the left for a large strawberry, but I don't see the point of getting it. I usually ignore this area. Nothing here but a berry and a Dummyman anyway. If you REALLY need adrenaline, then go here. If not, just ignore it. Check the area around the stage where the cake is with the Horror Monitor. After checking the area. Approach the left side of the stage to view a cinema. After the cinema, use the Severed Head to give to the cake, and view second cinema. Afterwards, jump on the stage and investigate the cake to add it to your inventory. Now, jump off the other side of the stage, check out the area, then head down the stairs to the next area. You should see a photo booth here. Follow the path to go to the meat market. Check out the area with the Horror Monitor. You'll see some items to pick up, Chicken, Pork and Beef. Don't pick them up yet. Follow the path out to see two giant cockroaches blocking the way. They want meat, so you have to feed them. Go back to the beef section, and get ONE piece of meat. Go back to the cockroach, and feed him the beef. Repeat until he leaves. Do the same for the next cockroach. After feeding the cockroach, you should have NO meat on you. Go back and get ONE piece of meat from the market, then follow the path out to the steakhouse. After viewing the cinema, you must defeat the meat that you brought with you. That's right. The more meat you carry with you when you step inside, the more enemies you face on the grill. Remember that. After taking out the meat, jump off the side of the grill with the large fork and spoon resting on the side. Go up the steps to the next area. You should now be in vegetable market. Navigate your way through with the map and the Horror Monitor. Be careful when you step on the patches of dirt instead of the tile. The worms in the second level are back. Navigate the rest of the way with the Horror Monitor and map, then head for the exit. You should now be in a room filled with dirt. Make your way to the door at the end of the room, but heal yourself before you approach it. You'll have to defeat three worms before you can go inside. You should now be inside a fancy hallway with a rather ugly elevator at the end. Walk along the left wall, and you'll come across a gap in it. Go through it, and head for the office at the end of the hall. Go inside the office, and thoroughly check out the area with the Horror Monitor. You should find a Blue Memo here. Read the phrase to yourself. It's the PIN number for the safe. Got it yet? No? Okay. "I ate six trees" sounds similar to "I eight six three". The PIN number is 1863. Go to the splattered remains of the body on the wall and investigate the calculator in his hand to enter the PIN number. Investigate the safe after using the PIN number to get 100,000 dollars. Leave the office, and go back to the elevator. Use it to go to the toy store. You won't be let in if you have less than 200,000 dollars. That shouldn't be a problem if you have the money from the hidden office. Follow the path through the toy store using the Horror Monitor. Keep following the path, and you'll eventually reach a photo booth to save your progress. Go down the steps, and check out the area with the Horror Monitor. Go forward to meet Mary. After cinema go through the door to play a game of Tag with Mary. It's just like the maze in the first level with Banballow. If you hear a childish giggling sound while going through this area, be careful as Mary could be near. Also, look for your character to turn their head slightly to let you know Mary's near. Look at your map. There are four lightly colored areas on the map. These are the places where Mary left her cards. Go to each one on the map, and investigate the box to get the card. Remember to look out for Mary. Everytime you touch her, or get close to her, you'll get in a fight with her. After getting all four pieces, check the map again to find the exit to the maze. Use all four pieces at the exit to win the game. Go through the door, and check the boxes here. Now, you get to play a game of Hide and Seek with Mary. Mary has disguised herself in the room as an object. Investigate the right one, and you win. Pick the wrong one, and you'll be shocked, injured, or both. The first three times I beat this game, Mary was disguised as the refrigerator. Ever since then, she has been disguised as something else. At this point, Mary's pissed at you for finding her. She will now attack you. Defeat her, and look at the boxes in the area. One of these boxes should gives you a key item, Mary's Key. Use it on the locked gate, and go through it. You should see a photo booth here. Follow the path out to the second door, and go inside. You'll see Mary at a gate. Approach her for your last game, Jump Rope. In this game, you have to jump the thorn rope ten times in a row. Use the A button to jump. The rope gets faster as you get more jumps successfully. Be very careful when you get to nine consecutive jumps. The timing gets tricky. If you get hit with the rope, you'll lose energy, and you'll have to start over. After winning the game, Mary admits defeat, and lets you get the items from the boxes. A key item here is Mary's Stick. After getting the items, go through the door, and you should be in another fancy office hall with a circular picture on the wall. Use Mary's Stick when facing the picture to open a secret path. Go inside the path, and follow it to Cashman's Office. Do the same thing you did in the previous office. Check the area with the Horror Monitor thoroughly. Look for a sign on the wall for another riddle to open the safe. Investigate the sign to read a message : "Blackjack Sick! Swan". In Blackjack the object of the game is to get a Blackjack or a pair of playing cards that total 21. Say "Sick Swan" to yourself. Sounds like "Six One" doesn't it? The PIN number is 2161. Go to the desk and investigate it to use the calculator to open the safe. Investigate the safe to get 150,000 dollars. Leave the office, and use the elevator to enter the last safe. Go forward until cinema begins. After cinema, boss fight starts. BOSS "FIGHT" ------------ Notice how I have the word fight in quotations? A huge spider with Cashman's face on its abdomen. As soon as the fight starts, run to the upper left corner. Go under the spider web, and jump on top of the stacks of money. Keep jumping until you reach the top, and follow the path out until you reach the control room. You'll see a cinema with the operator distracted by a phone call. When the cinema ends, investigate the control panel for a key item, the Remote. After taking the remote, go back to the Cashman Spider, and a cinema begins, showing that you are in control of the spider. Move the spider towards the wall, and make it jump into the wall to damage it. After it is out of energy, a cinema starts showing that the spider is on fire, and everyone is evacuated from the level. The stage is now cleared. ------------------------------------------ STAGE 5 : Hall of Resentment - "Killerman" ------------------------------------------ Requirements : Prize Offered - 50,000 dollars Time Limit - 50 minutes Clear Traps - 10 or more Heart Rate - 80 beats per minute or less Hit Points - 180 or more Adrenaline - 200 cc or more Bleeding - 10 cc per minute or less I suggest you get the character with the most hit points for this one. It has one of the hardest boss fights in this game. Probably making up for how simple the last boss fight was. From Bloody Mary's get some blood slowing, adrenaline building, and strength building items. At the start of this level, go to the bottom of the theater, and turn right at the movie screen, follow the path out until you get to a Staff Only door with an entrance to the Monitor Room to the left. Go inside to watch a cinema. After the cinema, check out the room to find your Horror Monitor. Investigate the body to find his work number. Use this number to open the Staff Only door. Check out the area, and follow the path out until a cinema begins. After the cinema, follow the path out until you reach the Control Room, and see another cinema involving the section manager Cunningham, and news reporter Jorg Baker. After the cinema, go to the right, down the steps, and through the hall of the control room. At the end of the hall go right to find the exit. Unfortunately, it's only one way. Turn around and go the other way through the Staff Only door. You're now in the prop room. There's a photo booth here for you. Go through the area checking with the Horror Monitor and map. Find the exit, and head to Prop Room 2. Do the same here, using your Horror Monitor, and checking for items. Make your way to the exit. You're now in the chemical storage room. Check the area very thoroughly with the Horror Monitor to find a Shotgun. Now, head for the exit, and investigate the card reader for a key item, an ID Card. Use it in front of the exit door to open it, and go back to the Control Room. Make your way to the Monitor Room ( where Horror Monitor was found ), and see a cinema. From here, go back to the Control Room, and see another cinema involving Cunningham. Inspect Cunningham's body for a code card. Use stairs on the left, and face the keypad for the large metal door. Read the Code Card for the PIN number to open the door. Go inside. Follow the path out using the Horror Monitor and you'll eventually see a cinema. Keep going on the path, and you'll see an open area in a fence. You can't jump up to it, so keep following the path to another cinema. Keep following the path to the exit. You should now be in the Power Room. Follow the path out using the Horror Monitor. Make your way through here, and another cinema begins. Keep going on to reach the Coolant Room. A second cinema begins. After this ends, go down the stairs and check out the area. Go back up the stairs, and go through the doorway. Follow the path out to the Cold Storage Room. Find Jason in this area while checking around with the Horror Monitor. Approach Jason, and a cinema begins. After the Cinema, follow after Killerman, and you'll see a ladder hanging from the ceiling. Investigate it, and climb up it. You'll now be in the vents. Look at the map to navigate your way to the exit. When you reach the exit, jump down to the floor. Remember where you are? You're at the place where you couldn't jump up to previously. Run back to the Control Room for a cinema. Notice that the door to the Morgue is now open. After this, a cinema starts up asking you to pick who the murderer is. Pick between Killerman, Jason, Jorg, Cunningham, and Yourself. If you pick the right one, you get a BIG bonus if you clear the level. After the cinema is over, go to the morgue. This place is HUGE. It's easy to get lost here, so you'll be looking at the map pretty often. Follow the path of the catwalk you're on, and go right when the path forks off. Follow this path, and then go left when the path forks again. Continue going straight for a cinema. After the cinema, you're attacked by a group of zombies. Fight or escape, then another cinema begins where Jorg is taken. Find him. To find Jorg, follow this path. From where you are, you should see a stairway going up. Use it. Now, follow it out to a large square area. To the right, there should be another stairway going up. Use it. Follow this path out to drop down to the cart tracks. Go left. Follow the path out, and look at your map. Start looking for two paths that go to your character's right. Take the second right, then take the first left, then turn left again. Follow this path, and start looking to the right. There should be an area where you can drop off to the floor. Drop off the tracks, and go up the stairs. Follow this path until you see a large square area. Go to the left. Follow the path until you see a section of the handrail broken off. Drop down to the cart tracks. Turn around, then follow the path out to find Jorg. Cinema starts, and you have officially rescued Jorg to join you. After finding Jorg, find a place to drop off of to get to the floor. You should see a stairway heading up. Use it. You should be on the catwalk with a large square area. Go straight, then left. Drop off at the broken handrail. Turn around and follow the path, and go to the left. You should now be at an area with multiple rows of carts. Before you approach, use the Horror Monitor. Afterwards, go to the left. Keep using the Horror Monitor. You should see an area you can drop off of in front of stairway going up. Use it, then follow the path out to find a photo booth to save your game. Heal yourself, then follow the rest of the path out to start a cinema with Cunningham. After the cinema, boss fight begins. BOSS FIGHT ---------- This one's tough. Killerman will attack you with some homing gold stars. Use the sidestep to avoid them. After he shoots them, use the shotgun on him. The closer the better. He will also teleport around the room. Try to locate him as quick as you can, and get ready to sidestep, then attack. If you see Killerman charging up for a big blast, try to get behind him and attack. If you can't do this sidestep until the blast is finished. If you stay too close to Killerman, he'll use this blast that will knock you back. If you get too close, attack, then run away. Takes patience, but it can be done. After the fight is over, a cinema begins, and the stage is now cleared. Who did you pick as the murderer? If you picked Killerman, and you rescued Jorg, you'll get a whopping one million dollars. -------------------------------------- STAGE 6 : Child's Place - "Toy Hunter" -------------------------------------- Requirements : Prize Offered - 300,000 dollars Time Limit - 1 hour Story - 15 or more Heart Rate - 60 beats per minute or less Hit Points - 180 or more Adrenaline - 250 cc or more Bleeding - 10 cc per minute or less I like Jorg here. He has as much adrenaline as Michel, and he can take more abuse than her. You just got a million dollars too. Use it to build him up some before going. Get the usual items from Bloody Mary's blood slowing, adrenaline building, and strength building items. Get some pulse slowing items too. At the start of the level, check out the sign that says "Horror Monitor Rental". Guess what you'll find here. Check each sign. Now go to the ticket window, and investigate it to buy a ticket. A Dummyman attacks. Take him out, then get the ticket from the counter. Now use the ticket at the entrance of the stage. Go down the path, and you'll come across some ... thing that turns you into Cork the Toy Hunter. Afterwards, Cork appears and tells you the rules of the game. Listen carefully. After the tutorial, follow the path out until you reach a drop off point. Drop off, and look around for story elements. Like Cork said, don't warn an event, or you won't get the story element. Find all the story elements, then hop the green pencil to go to the next area. You should be on a bookcase now. Follow the path out to find more story elements, then head to the next area. You should be at Henry's casket now. A cinema starts. After the cinema, follow the path out and check for story elements. You should now be in the baseboards of the house. Check for story elements and shock events with the Horror Monitor. You'll eventually come to the graveyard. Do the same here, check the area for story elements and shock events. Look on the map to find Henry's Tomb. It's near the exit to the next area. Afterwards head to Toy City. Look for any story elements here, and make your way through the city. You'll make your way to the Egg Bar. Go inside for a cinema, and an attack by three Egg monsters. Take them out from a distance with Cork's gun. Afterwards, go out the back of the bar, and go down steps for a cinema. After the cinema, the only place you can go is a place called "Alcatoyz". Go inside. You'll see a photo booth, and an entrance to the Emergency Room. Follow the path out, and use the Horror Monitor for story elements, items and shock events. The next area is the Felon Room. Go to the desk for a cinema. After the cinema, check the area for story elements, and go to the rear of the desk and continue forward. Find Potedon, the rocket stuck in the wall, for a story element. Follow the path past Potedon, and look for a gas can that is moving about. Check it out with the Horror Monitor, then investigate it for gas. Take gas back to Potedon, and use it on him. A cinema starts up. After the cinema, look at your map, and head for the large circular area on it. There's a photo booth for you here. Go down the stairs and follow the path out using the Horror Monitor on the way. You'll see a guard at the gallows. Use Horror Monitor to see if he's a story element. Cinema starts. After the cinema. Check the map, and look for the lightly shaded area. Head for that area. Use the Horror Monitor as you go. When you reach the area, a cinema starts. When it ends, check out Potedon for his chip. Go through the door to the Human City. Look around for items and story elements with the Horror Monitor. Check out the junkyard in the upper right corner of the map as well. Check out the second floors of the apartments to find broken windows. Inspect each one to find Jeremy's House. Check the apartment near a sign that warns you about ghosts in town. Checking the wrong house will shock and injure you. Be careful. After finding Jeremy's place, view the cinema, then find the toy rocket that looks like Potedon. Use Potedon's chip on it to view another cinema. After the cinema, go up the glass stairway to go into Jeremy's casket room. Follow the path to the photo booth to save. Go back to Jeremy's casket and face it for a cinema. After the cinema, you'll be in Toy Hell. Follow the path out until you see a drop off point. Drop off for another cinema. You'll now face the boss of the level, Zodick. BOSS FIGHT ---------- This thing must be a warped version of Sonic the Hedgehog. It has a spinning attack just like Sonic that you have to avoid. When you get far enough away from it, shoot it with Cork's gun. Gold rings will fall out of Zodick. Shoot the rings to weaken him. The weaker he gets, fewer rings fall out. Be careful when you get close to him, as he'll go for a big stomp attack. After the fight is over, view the cinema, and afterwards, the stage is now cleared. ------------------------------------------------------- STAGE 7 : Final Stage - Michael Reynolds' Horror Museum ------------------------------------------------------- Requirements : Live through it. Welcome to the last stage of the game. Go to the ER, and build up whatever character you used in Stage 6, because you can't change him / her for the last stage. Build up physical strength, bleeding rate, and heart rate as much as you can. Now that that's done, I suggest going to the Dummyman's photo shop to save your game. Just in case. Now go to the cinema zone, and up the steps all the way to the Michael Reynolds Museum. Go inside. First of all, check the doors when your sixth sense meter goes off. Check for a Scapegoat Mary, an Axe, and a Machine Gun. Go on to the platform in the center of the room. A cinema begins where Reynolds himself appears ( sorta ) to tell you that if you can beat any of the three characters he has lined up, you will receive the one hundred million dollar prize. Choose from the pictures on the wall. The first choice is the Cashman Spider from Stage 4. The second choice is something called a "Bull Stinger". The last choice is something called "Oh No Man". Choose anyone you like. You're in for a long battle. BOSS FIGHT ---------- I'll describe each one for you in terms of difficulty. From the easiest to the hardest. BOSS - Oh No Man ---------------- This is a tall guy with no head that attacks with two sickles. He dashes and attacks, then stops to rest. Just avoid his dashing attacks, then attack when he stops. Takes a while, but be patient, and you'll make it on top. BOSS - Cashman Spider --------------------- The Spider from Stage 4. It moves around the screen looking for you. Keep moving so it can't find you to jump on you. After injuring it several times, it will jump to the ceiling and release little spiders to attack / distract you. You will see the shadow of the spider as it goes across the ceiling. If you are caught in the shadow of the spider, it will release poison on top of you. The key here is to keep moving, and attack when you can. BOSS - Bull Stinger ------------------- If you recognize this monster from Crazy Games' first Dreamcast game, "Blue Stinger", congratulate yourself. That's right, this monster comes directly from that game. It was nowhere near as difficult in Blue Stinger as it is here, though. This thing is fast. It can track you down while you keep moving with its massive leaps. If it lands on you, it really hurts. It also charges at you from a distance. When it does, sidestep or get out of the way, then attack. This will be the longest battle you'll have, and your chances to attack will be very sparse. Patience is the key here. Lot's of it. After you beat your selected boss, watch the money fall from the sky as Michael Reynolds congratulates you. Enjoy the ending. TRUE FINAL BOSS FIGHT --------------------- To face the true final boss of Illbleed, you have to meet the following requirements. * You must have beat the game once, and are starting a new game with the saved data. * You must go through the game and reach the final stage WITHOUT RESCUING ANYONE. - To leave Kevin behind, wait until the clock reaches at least one hour before facing Banballow in the boiler room. I suggest waiting in the restroom where you first see Kevin being dragged away by Banballow. Don't worry about Banballow attacking you there, as he only does so when you're in the maze leading to the boiler room. When you reach Kevin after defeating Banballow, investigate him, and he should be dead. - To leave Michel behind, do not go into the garage where she is located. - To leave Randy behind, do not go into the area where the two Dummymen are holding him. - To leave Jorg behind, do not go to the area where he is located in the morgue. If you've met the requirements, I suggest you get yourself a LOT of adrenaline building, pulse slowing, and strength building items from Bloody Mary's in the pre stage. When you get to the center of Reynolds' museum, a cinema begins with Eriko and Michael Reynolds. Reynolds will ask you to be a part of his Special Shock Event involving the nine monoliths ( the gray rectangular statues circling the museum ). To play in this event, you must first get the Special Horror Monitor. Investigate Michael Reynolds to get it. Now, search the nine monoliths for three items from Eriko's childhood, a Rubber Snake, a Ribbon, and a pair of Eriko's shoes. Each monolith has a shock event on it, so use the Horror Monitor to warn yourself of each one. Upon using the Horror Monitor, you'll notice that it takes so much adrenaline that it only lets you use it three times. After using the Horror Monitor, go to your items, and use whatever adrenaline building items you have before searching the remaining monoliths. I prefer the Intravenous Drip. The shock events here are pretty potent. Use your pulse slowing items when your pulse rate gets too high. Keep a steady lookout of your health as well, and heal yourself as much as possible if or when you are injured. After getting the three items, another cinema starts with Eriko and Michael Reynolds, and your battle begins. FINAL BOSS FIGHT ---------------- The man himself. Michael Reynolds. His first form is a large head that appears out of the puddle he has made in the center of his museum. Locate it as soon as possible when he appears. DO NOT stand in front of him at a distance as he will shoot you with a multi colored beam of light that does serious damage. If you're caught, sidestep constantly, or try to get out of its way. The blast is highly telegraphed, so you can easily see and hear it coming. If you manage to get close to him, he will attempt to hit you with the limb at the top of his head. Sidestep, or run around to either side, then attack with the Axe ( more powerful than the Machine Gun ). After defeating him, Reynolds will attack you in his second form, a flying brain with tentacles. First thing you'll want to do is get as far to the outside as you can, and then start running along the outer edge of the circle you're in. The creature will attack you with either red ghosts, or green energy pellets. Each of these attacks will track you, so keep running to avoid either of them. When the attack ends, you can either attack with the Machine Gun, or the Axe. The Machine Gun is the safer weapon to use. Even though the Axe does more damage, it's risky to get too close to the creature. If you decide to use the Axe, be ready to run if you see the creature begin to fly backward because it is about to launch its third attack, a quick, expanding red whirlwind. If you manage to lower the creature's energy below 50%, it will attack by charging into you. Use the sidestep to avoid this. When you take out this form of Reynolds, enjoy the ending. ======= SECRETS ======= This area is for the secrets found so far in this game. These have been confirmed for the US and Japanese versions of the game. * Press X + A when you highlight "Options" at the game menu to start a mini game. * Rescue Randy WITHOUT finding his brain in Level 3. After doing so, take a look at his ID Card for Illbleed. His attacks and stats are pretty much the same, but since he has no brain, he has no adrenaline. Therefore, he can't use the Horror Monitor at all. If you decide to use him, carry a LOT of pulse lowering and health building items. * There are three endings in the game. One for saving all of your friends, another for saving only one, and another for saving none of your friends. * To see Eriko lose her clothing, you must first beat the game once, then save the data. Load this saved data to start a new game. Now, play through the game without saving anyone. For every person you don't rescue, Eriko will lose more of her clothing. By the time you reach Stage 6, Eriko will have nothing on but tiny patches of her underwear, dirt and bloody bandages. ========== ITEMS LIST ========== Here's a description of a few items in the game.
