That means good. :) -+(1.1 Author Introduction)+- Hi there! Name's Enigma_07, I'm (almost) 19 and I'm from Hungary (hey, do you know where Hungary is? ;)) and yeah, I love playing retro games... these games just have a feeling. These games' most important point is NOT the graphics (like nowadays, right?), it is the GAMEPLAY. Don't forget that! Retro players out there, hi! Hope to talk with you on the GameFAQs boards. -+(1.2 Game Introduction)+- Nintendo used this game to make Wario Blast featuring: Bomberman!. (You don't believe it? Go and get that game, too... I told you) Should it be called as a base of another game? (legal hack, yeah right...) Bomberman rules here; destroy blocks and your opponent(s) while collecting pickups as many as possible. This game is NOT the American Bomberman GB. That is definetely another game, not just a translation of this game. This is better, in my opinion, but who am I, right? 2. Game Basics -+(2.1 Storyline)+- Well, I don't know Japanese, so I will try to tell the storyline with my words. In the intro, Bomberman is riding his motorcycle peacefully. Suddenly, the MadBombers appeared and they trounced Bomberman! They stole all the powers what he had: the Kick (K), the Dashin' (D), the Trouncer (T), the Liner (L) and the Moto. (M) Bomberman wants to get the MadBombers. Will he get them? It depends on you. ;) There's your storyline. :P (If there is someone out there who knows Japanese, or just knows the story, please mail me and I'll give you full credit!) -+(2.2 Controls)+- The controls are easy to learn, so don't worry about hard controls. ;) A Button: Puts a bomb down. Pushing it twice will line up your bombs to the direction you face. (Only after you obtained the Liner "L" power by beating the 4th boss) B button: Hold to move faster (Only after you obtained the Dashin' "D" power by beating the 2nd boss), otherwise it is useless. D-pad: You control Bomberman with it. Obvious, eh? :) Select button: Useful! VEEEEEERY useful... if you want to push that button all day long, of course. However, Select is useless (except in the menus) Pause button: Pauses the game and in menus it selects the highlighted option. -+(2.3 Other basics)+- - If you die, you will get a Game Over. However, you have unlimited continues AND you will get a password to continue the game from the stage you died in. (Don't forget to write down those passwords... even if it does look a waste of time, it will be useful after a few days without playing the game!) - Some blocks contain powerups. Collect as many as you can to help yourself! - Avoid the Skull powerup. That makes only bad things. You will be slower, or you will put down bombs without even pushing A (now this is simply crude, isn't it?), or the controls will be reversed: pushing Down will make you go Up... you get the idea. - You can infect your opponents if you picked up a Skull powerup. (and do it for easy kills! I don't think you want to leave your enemies unaffected... infect them and kill them easier, duh) - In x-1 stages, you fight only one opponent. In x-2, you fight 2. In x-3, you fight against 3! And the stages are getting smaller! The more opponents you face, the smaller the stages will be! (duh once again) - In x-4 stages, you have to fight a boss (And you can get powers after defeating the first five boss - the last three won't give powers, haha!) -+(2.4 Stage Designs)+- - World 1: A normal, rocky fight. No special things at all. - World 2: Cool music. :) You're in a bunker or something... There are warp holes, too... The enemies warp as fast as you will, with the same speed. - World 3: Bomb-guiding blocks in the wood, wow... This is my favourite stage design and this world has good music, too. :) (hey, I like it) From now on, the enemies can kick bombs! (oh yeah, kicked a bomb in his face and it was kicked back, causing me to die. LOL.) - World 4: Short fuses (I hate these worlds...) and warp holes in a city. Can be hard if you put down too many bombs - with having picked up a lot of powerups, of course... Put down your bomb in front of the warp holes just when your opponents appear there - easy kills and I mean EASY! (you want to beat this game, right?) - World 5: Paralyzing gas from heated vents. This must be an army base... :D Trounce your opponents to the gas and kill them quickly! :) Avoid the gas. You don't want to lose by walking in the gas. - World 6: I said I hate ice and snow in games in my Adventure Island 3 NES guide. Well, World 6 is icey in both games! (Strange...) The icecubes will "regenerate" after some time. Be careful! Bad traction... yuck. :P - World 7: Short fuses, palm trees and an easter egg. 7-2 and 7-3 contains bomb- guiding blocks, too. (I still haven't found the easter egg... or at least, Wario Blast had that easter egg... what is the easter egg, anyway? If you know it, mail me for full credit. Thank you.) - World 8: Finally, the last world. You will be armed to the max with high-ex- plosive bombs, but there will be no items. Oh goodie! :) Oh, before we move on. On the last three worlds, quickly find your opponent, trounce them in a corner, put a few bombs ahead them and BOOM they go. Probably your batteries won't be in a good condition... LOL. :D Sorry... just be quick and ruthless! ;) 3. Powers 1. Kicks "K" Obtained: Beat the first boss. How it works: Just run towards the bomb to kick it away to the direction you face. Push the B button o halt the bomb. 2. Dashin "D" Obtained: Beat the second boss. How it works: Just keep pushing B button to run faster. :) 3. The Trouncer "T" Obtained: Beat the third boss. How it works: Must be used with Dashin'. Dash towards to your opponent to push him to the wall, where he spins for some time - and that is a good chance to kill him easily! :) 4. Liner "L" Obtained: Beat the fourth boss. How it works: Push A button twice to line up your bombs to the direction you face! 5. Moto "M" Obtained: Beat the fifth boss. How it works: Run into the undestroyable blocks to jump over them! :) MOST USEFUL powerup with the Dashin'. 4. Powerups - Skull (picture: a skull) - don't pick that up. Don't. - Bomb (picture: a bomb) - you can put an extra bomb down. If you could put down one, now you can put 2 down. - Speed (picture: a skate) - you will be faster - Power (picture: a smiling flame, lol) - your bombs range will be bigger 5. Ending This ending has been taken from Wario Blast... the ending is almost the same like in that game. You see Bomberman on his motorcycle on the edge of a cliff looking to his right at an explosion off the side of the cliff. The text is then written at the bottom of the screen: "AN EXPLOSION OF EARTHQUAKE PROPORTIONS SIGNALS YOUR VICTORY." After that, the credits will roll while Bomberman drives to the left on a dirt path with rocks, and there is a desert background with mesas and clouds. After the credits, it says "THE END" and Bomberman and the MadBomber chase each other back and forth across the screen on their motorcycles (still in the desert on the path.) When Bomberman chases MadBomber, his eyes are bugging out like he's scared to death. :) 6. Boss Guide Boss 1: It looks like a dog in a cup full of coffee. :D 3 hits and you win! OK, it shoots out 3 small, moving enemies and it shoots one projectile vertically if you're near to it, but it is VERY EASY. Beat it quickly to get the Kick power! Beat it fast and it won't shoot those moving enemies. Boss 2: This is a 2-headed stupid-lookin' boss... :D And it spins... From now on; you can only hit the boss when it attacks you. 3 hits and you get the most useful power in the game, the Dashin'. Boss 3: It looks like a cute animal hanging in the air using 3 balloons. :) It shoots out 3 small angry-looking animal - and you can only hit the boss when it stops floating around. (when it wants to attack you) 3 hits to kill "her" (is it a robot?) and get "The Trouncer" power. Boss 4: It is a dorky-looking flower with 4 leaves on it. You can only hit it when it shoots 1, 2 or 3 "homing" (okay, following. :D) leaves. 4 or 5 hits (I counted 5, but I am not sure) and you will get the "Liner" power! Boss 5: This is looking like a cloud with electrical tuning or something. :D (probably, it has eaten electricity for lunch! :D) You can only hit it when it shoots electricity out. 5 hits and it is dead! Run around and count the time when to put bombs down. I killed it without much problem. You will get the Moto power. :) Boss 6: What is this? A bomb with face and legs? Haha, and it can even shoot! Hit it once - it will be bigger. Hit it once more - it will be bigger again AND it will try to hit you because it will blow up! And you can only hit it when it regenerates itself! 3 hits to make it die for good! Oh, and don't let yourself being blown up by the boss. Boss 7: This is a knight with a sword and a shield with a face. :D You can only hit it when the boss spins his sword. After 6 hits, the boss will throw the sword in your way. 2 more hits and you win! :) Final Boss: I have worked out a 20 second-tactic to kill it EASILY! You will have to hold the B button for the extra speed you will need here. It will have 3 phases, though. So, at the start, move 3 blocks ahead and line your bombs forward - do not hit the "rocketdoor" of the boss. Jump left and wait for your bombs to blow up - the rocket (which follows you) will blow up, too. Go back and a little forward to line up 3 bombs (you will have to go forward for it) in front of the boss. If you done it good and quick, the rocket will blow up and the boss will get hit again. Do it once again, and you won the first phase! :) As you can see, you will have 95 seconds remaining. Now comes the second phase. Line up your bombs left when the blinking of the disappearing parts of the boss get really fast. Run to the right corner, go down 1 block, and wait for the "balls" to go back to the boss. Line up your bombs again and do this trick again. Repeat once more to win the second phase! You will still have 87 seconds. The last part will be the easiest if you follow my trick. So, stay on the top of the stage and wait for the boss to move, then QUICKLY line up your bombs to the LEFT! Do it quickly again while the boss stays in one place. And do it once again to beat the game. And how to avoid the shots? Just go down ONLY ONE block from the top. Do you see the remaining time? 80 seconds! Only try it if you are a pro, but anyone can try it! ;) 7. Passwords A HUGE THANKS for Alex Shih, he sent me ALL the codes! ;) (OK, except for the 1-1 passwords, but that is useless :P) Thanks a lot, Alex! ;) Stage Password 1-2 7006 1-3 8774 1-4 5141 2-1 9185 2-2 4610 2-3 2630 2-4 3569 3-1 8401 3-2 8264 3-3 0173 3-4 2828 4-1 4152 4-2 3451 4-3 4312 4-4 0874 5-1 1909 5-2 5010 5-3 2904 5-4 1726 6-1 3614 6-2 0610 6-3 9867 6-4 9618 7-1 1884 7-2 7702 7-3 6925 7-4 7110 8-1 5814 8-2 8136 8-3 0390 8-4 3158 8. Tips I wrote this section for those, who have problems beating those MadBombers. I hope these tips will help you out! - In the first two worlds (until you get the Dashin' power) be careful. Do not put bombs with high ranges without a safe place for you to get in time. Or else, you will be killed by your own bombs. - In worlds 4 and 7, watch out for the short fuses! This can be a trouble if you are not careful. - Try to corner in your enemies. If he is in a corner with only one way out, put a bomb in the exit for a 100% win! - The enemies are STUPID. I DO MEAN STUPID. Take a look at my UGLY diagram :D (But hey, it is not so bad, now is it?) B| B: Bombs x: Undestroyable blocks _ or |: Wall E: Enemy x x | _ _ B _ E| I hope you can imagine this situation. Now, in this case, you would kick one of these bombs away if you would be in that corner, wouldn't you? Of course, you would. BUT, the stupid enemies go right in the corner, and they WON'T even try to get away from there (even if they could kick away those bombs!) Now are they stupid or what? ;) Try to do it a lot, it will always help if the enemy is not right next to your bombs, when you put them down. In this case, he will kick the bomb away. - Another useful trick in the last 3 worlds is to trounce them next to a wall (or block), line up your bombs (at least two!) ahead of you and jump away into safety. Only works if you are next to a block that you can jump - or YOU will die, too! 9. FAQ's Having questions? Stuck in the game? Send a mail to benettonroy@freemail.hu!
