Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Jordan vs. Bird is a basketball game, of course, but it is EXTREMELY basic. It is literally Jordan against Bird; you can only pick one or the other to play as. The controls are extremely clunky and slow, not to mention how annoying it is to need to press two buttons to make a proper shot. There are a number of different game modes, but they are all pretty boring. The only interesting one is the slam dunk contest, but you need to follow the computer's steps exactly and press the buttons at the right time to succeed. The game doesn't even show you how to do the dunks in that mode! Despite the obvious player endorsements, this game is very much skippable. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Start: Start/pause game, make selection on menus Control Pad: Move player, move cursor on menus A: Jump, block (defense) B: Shoot (when in air after jumping; offense) ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ========== Game Modes ========== When you get past the title screen, there are a bunch of different game modes to enter into: One on One Full: Play a full one-on-one game. One on One 15 or 11: Play a game, where the first person to reach 11 or 15 points (you can set which on) wins. One on One Warmup: Play a practice one-on-one game. Slam Dunk Contest: Enter into a slam dunk contest against the computer. Pick a dunk type from the list when it is your turn, and you will have to perform it successfully to make the shot. You are NOT shown how to do each dunk in this mode strangely enough, so you must practice by playing the Follow the Leader mode to learn! Slam Dunk Warmup: Practice the slam dunk contest by yourself. Again, you are not shown how to perform the dunks here; play Follow the Leader for that! Follow the Leader: This is similar to entering the slam dunk contest. Pick a dunk type from the list, then watch the computer demonstrate how it's done. You then have control and must perform the dunk exactly as shown. You are not guaranteed to make the shot in, though! 3-Point Contest: Enter into a 3-point contest. There are five points along the foul line where a case with five balls will be sitting. Go to each and shoot every ball from behind that case, one at a time (press B to grab the ball, then jump and shoot). 3-Point Warmup: Practice the 3-point contest by yourself. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5.
