This one covers the GameBoy game, Mini-Putt. As one might guess, this is a game about the game of mini-golf, the more convenient and miniature version of golf. :P ... Yeah, I don't have much to say about this; not real good with this, you know. But try to enjoy. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Section Two: Version History **PUTT_2** =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Final - First and likely only version of this FAQ completed. 9:37 PM 2/10/2013 =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Section Three: Legalities **PUTT_3** =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= This FAQ may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use. At the main menu, you have two options - Play Game and Training. The latter is just a practice mode where you can go to a specific course's hole to practice. Play Game makes you do the whole course sequentially. Upon selecting to "Play Game", you then have two options. "Normal" implies a one-to-four player game on a single course; "Gamble" implies a multiplayer game with score based off winning holes. (If you prefer true golf terms, "Normal" implies a game based on how many strokes you take across the course, or stroke play. "Gamble" implies a match play system to some extent, where you get more points for winning more difficult holes.) After choosing either option, each player gets to fill in their name. Then you get the various course difficulties; from easiest to hardest, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Special. After this, when playing Gamble mode, you can use the "Next" option on the menu to sift through the various bet options, then click "OK" to begin. ------------------------- Playing the Game - During ------------------------- Each hole initially gives you some information. You will the hole number, difficulty, par (scoring baseline), and your stroke number (hit). If you move the D-Pad around, you will make a cursor move around and the counter in the bottom-left corner will change to display the yardage between the ball (black dot) and the cursor. You can also press the Select Button to view a hole map. Remember to use the D-Pad to also set your trajectory, the direction in which you want to aim your shot. You cannot proceed until you have set a trajectory. In doing so, try to remember that arrows on the field represent inclines going the direction the arrows are pointing. Also remember the law of reflection: \ : / Those colons represent an imaginary middle point perpendicular to \ : / the surface (underscores) the ball (slashes) will bounce off of. \ : / Regardless of the situation, the angle formed by the trajectory ___\:/___ halves and the colons will be equal on either side of the colons, or half of the angle formed by the entire trajectory. That is how you figure out which way to aim the ball in a tough situation, like going around a corner. Once you've set your desired trajectory, press the A Button. A power meter on the left side will then appear. Press the A Button to make it fill up. This meter is not graduated regularly, so be careful about that. While every dash below "10" represents 2 yards, those between "10" and "30" are for four yards; those between "30" and "60" are six! Be especially careful in choosing this, too - the ball *will* go further than the distance you set it to, due to inertia. I'd say fill the meter about 75% ~ 85% of what you need. Press the A Button again to confirm it and the meter will empty. Then the other meter below the player figure in the bottom-left will fill. This meter details the hook/slice of your swing. Basically, if you press the A Button before the meter fills to the center line, the ball will go a bit left; if it is after the center line, the ball will go right. Press the A Button to confirm and take your shot. This will loop throughout the courses. Winners will be determined based on overall strokes in Normal Play, and the amount of money earned in Gamble Play.
