The stones are needed to evolve your Pokémon. Your Pokémon has to be a certain level to evolve, or you have to trade the Pokémon to another trainer before it can evolve. The Stones are also shortened in one case to W, T, F, for Water, Thunder and Fire. G #'s mean to GROUP the Pokémon into the number that is stated. EVOLVING POKéMON There are three ways for pokemon to evolve: 1. Level - Most Pokémon evolve when they reach a certain experience level. For example, Caterpie will evolve into Metapod, and then to Butterfree. 2. Item - Other Pokémon only evolve when a special stone is used on them. When a Thunder Stone is used on Pikachu, it evolves into Raichu. Fire, Water, Thunder, and Leaf Stones can be bought for 2100 at the Celadon Dept. Store 4F. Moon stones are much rarer and evolve special Pokémon (Clefairy, Jigglypuff). 3. Trade - Four pokemon only evolve when they are traded. These Pokémon are: Kadabra >->->-> Alakazam Graveler >->->> Golem Haunter >->->-> Gengar Machoke >->->-> Machamp Many evolved forms of Pokémon and some rare Pokémon can be found in the cave outside of Cerulean City. You can go there after becoming Pokémon League Champion. These pokemon are: Hypno, Sandslash (blue), Arbok (red), Ditto, Chancey, Raichu (blue), Electabuzz (red), Electrode, Golbat, Venomoth, Kadabra, Rhydon, Dodrio, Wigglytuff, Seaking, Seadra, Slowbro, and Kingler. You may think that if you got gamelink cable that you'll be able to trade your Pokémon with a friend and then trade them back so that you're Pokémon will gain boosted experience. Think again. Your Pokémon game pak will be able to recognize Pokémon that were originally caught on your pak, no matter how pak the Pokémon have been traded though. GAMESHARK CODES Here is the codes to put into the Gameshark to use any of these Pokémon. You have to enter the codes, then run around in the grass to fight the Pokémon you want, capture it and BINGO, you have it. Talk to Bill when he is still in a Pokémon form and wait until he goes into the machine. Exit and FLY to Cinnabar Island. SURF up and down the right hand side of Cinnabar Island. You should fight Mews, although some people fight Kakunas, Abras, and the other Pokémon that are around Bill's house. You may also be able to talk to Bill when he is human, although that does not always work, and has not been confirmer. 2. Play through the whole game without going onto the S.S. Anne. Get a Pokémon from a friend that has cut on it. After beating the game (you don't have to get all 150 Pokémon), surf off the dock where you go onto the S.S. Anne. Go right (it may be the left, try exploring) and you may fight a Mew. You also may have to use Strength on a truck that is there. People also say that you may be albe to get it somewhere in the Unknown Dungeon. The best way is to catch Pokémon over Level 100, and if you are lucky, your game might fight Mews, because it is random Pokémon that you fight using that trick. 3. To get Mew go to the SS Anne guy who asks for you ticket then surf to the right and you will find an island with a boulder and bushes on it. Hack the bushes and move the boulders then you will find a pokeball with Mew in it. 4. (Not Confirmed): Once you have all 150 Pokemon battle a friend in the Colosium using the game link cable. When you have finished the battle, go to the Celedon Mansion too where you got Eevee, and Mew should be sitting right there. PIKABLU - This code has been approved by Nintendo and will not mess any part of your game up. Perfectly clean and won't erase any data. To catch Pikablu in any Version follow these simple steps to catch him! 1. First you must catch all 150 Pokémon without the Gameshark. 2. Then you also must have Seventeen of your Pokémon at Lv 100. 3. Then when all of these tasks are complete, go to the guy in Pewter City who asks you if you have been to the Museum yet. Say No so he takes you to the door. 4. Then go into the Museum and go upstairs and talk to the Lady who says "I want my father to catch me a Pikachu!". 5. After you talk to her, immediatly come out of the door and once you come out of the door do not take any steps forward, left or right. Immediatly use fly and go to Celedon City. 6. Go to the Safari Zone and catch a Tuaros. Leave room in your Pokémon slots. So only bring 5 when you catch him. Then put Tuaros in your first slot. 7. Go into the Game Corner and talk to the Lady that says "Go Next Door to the Coin Exchange Corner to use your coins to get great prizes!" 8. But this time she will say, "Hey? You have all the Badges? WOW! Well then since you were nice enought to talk to me, I will give you this Pokémon I found stranded behind the Pokémon Museum, he is so strong I can't control him. But since you have all the Badges, YOU TAKE HIM!" 9. It will say, "You got ????????" Then when you try to use it, it will just be like you were pressing cancel and it will exit every time you click on it. Then go to Proffesor Oak and he will say the same then he says when you give him Oaks Parcel, it will say "YOU DELIVERED OAKS PARCEL!" 10. Then when you go into your Pokémon line it will replace the Pokémon in your first slot. So put a spearow or something in first. It will still be called ???????? so go to the Nickname guy and change it to Pikablu. It has a ElectricWave Psyshock, and Electrode. 11. It is at Level 999 and Pikablu will appear in your Pokédex at 154. Looking like this. Name: Pikablu Type: ???????? Height: 2' 3" Length: 3' 4" Weight: 34 Attack: 999 Defense: 999 Special: 999 ANOTHER WAY: Get Pikablu by using the Itemfinder in the water that you use to get to the Unknown Dungeon. You will find an item that inscribes that an unidenified pokemon was found at Cinnabar Island. Surf up and down the coast where you find Missingno. (Code is below) and you will eventully find Pikablu. He is hard to catch and I suggest using a Masterball. He knows Ice and Electric attacks. CHARCOLT 1. Now you have to have either the birds at the top and 3 geodudes at the bottom, or the birds at the top and a geodude, a graveler, and a golem at the bottom. Then you go to the Celedon City PokeMart and talk to the people that are trading, and one of them should give you Charcolt. FLARETH 1. Too get Flareth you have to have 4 Moltres', and that's all in your lineup. Then talk to the thirsty girl on the rooftop of the PokeMart in Celadon City 100 times! Then talk to her once more, she will get annoyed with you and give you Flareth to go away. MISSINGNO MISSINGNO. CAN SERIOUSLY MESS UP YOUR GAME, AND WILL SCREW UP THE HALL OF FAME LIST. NEITHER NINTENDO INC. OR I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. Anyway, too get him you must trade with everyone in the lab. On Cinnabar Island. Then you surf up and down the right shore half land and half water. Eventully you will come to a battle and your screen will go black for 5-10 seconds. The battle will be with a blurry guy named Missingno. He is #000. He will be LV80, but he really sucks. Use a pokemon at LV35+ to capture him. POKéGODS PokéGods (Unconfirmed, pretty sure it's fake, but try) Too get any you have to have all 150. Then you put the 3 legendary birds (Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos) at the front of your line up, and 3 Geodudes at the bottom. Then you have to talk to the dude who gives you the psychic TM in Saffron City. He should tell you about the PokéGods. Then do as followed with the 3 legendary birds still at the top of your lineup. (o)>-------------------------=(())=---------------------------<(o) \_.- MISCELLANEOUS TIPS & TRICKS -._/ GET MISSINGNO. This has been tested. Beware! If you catch it, it will mess up your game! Don't blame me if it does. IT can mess up your hall of fame. I suggest you build up pokemon against Missingno. First, go to Viridian City and talk to the guy who teaches you how to catch a Pokemon. When he asks if your busy, say no. After that, go to Cinnabar Island and start surfing 50% on land and water on the coast near the gym. You'll eventually fight Missingno., beware! Sky Attack is really strong! Missingno. can easily be beaten if you have Pokemon Lv.30+ MORE DAMAGE ATTACK When you attack your opponent, press button A at the same time you attack. You'll do more damage, this is like a Time Attack on Super Mario RPG DEFENSIVE ARMOUR When your opponent attacks you, press A, the damage will reduce. Same as above, except with the opponent attacking you. GET KANGASKHAN EASILY Here's the bad part, you have to catch Missingno. at level 0. Missingno. will mess up your hall of fame! But Kangaskhan is hard to catch. Catch Missingno. and level it to level 1, it'll evolve into Kangaskhan. DON'T BATTLE! This is utterly useless, it's a waste of time. Just get a cutting Pokemon and slice the grass. That would just probaly waste a few seconds. Useless! You can just go around the grass! But if the area is fully grass, it would be useful. DUPLICATE YOUR ITEMS! Look at the Missingno. trick at the top, then just battle Missingno., don't catch it! Put the item you want to duplicate in the 6th slot of your items list. (ex. Masterball) Beat Missingno. and your item will be duplicated(6th slot). POKéMON DAYCARE EXPERIENCE If you put a pokemon in the Pokemon Daycare, a step that Ash takes makes your Pokemon gain 1 exp. point! GET A DIPLOMA Beat the Elite 4, get all 150, go to Celadon City and talk to the guy in the Pokemon Mansion that's not on a CP. GREAT BALL TRICK This trick is simple. For the Great Ball trick, it will make the Great ball act like a Master Ball. All you have to do is hold Up and B when throwing the Great Ball. Remember.. I said hold. BETTER ACCURACY Simple like the Great Ball trick. This raises accuracy on catching the target Pokémon. Hold Up and A while throwing and you'll have better accuracy. POKé-BALLS To increase the accuracy of any type of poké-ball hit down and B when the ball leaves your hand. STRONGER ATTACKS For stronger attacks hold A while using your move. GREAT BALL TO MASTER BALL Too turn a Great Ball into a Master Ball hold B and Up while throwing the Great Ball. RAISING POKéMON Raising the levels of Pokémon is easy if you know this trick. When you get to Varidian City (the next city after Pallet town) buy a few poke' balls and then go out through the mountain path to that grassy area. Let your Pokémon fight and raise his levels. Capture any Pokémon you want and raise their levels too. If you get hurt just go back to the town and go in the poke center. You'll get healed, and you'll have raised the levels. This works very well until the Pokémon get to level 10 then try the next method. After you have raised levels to about 10 and have gotten better Pokémon and gone though the game a bit, try this. If you want to raise a low level Pokémon quickly and also get ahead in the game, put the low level Pokémon first in line. Then when the first enemy comes out, you can switch Pokémon to a stronger Pokémon and get hurt a little then kill the enemy. You'll have gotten as many points for that one Pokémon switching out, as you did for the stronger one who beat it. If there is multiple enemies in a fight, you can switch Pokémon after you defeat one and another is coming with out getting damaged. Then repeat the switch to get more experience with little cost. FREE ITEMS - FULL RESTORE To get free Full Restores at Indigo Plataeu's mart/center go to the shop area, and choose the Full Restore. Set the quantity to 20, but even though it says $60000, when you choose yes you will get it all for FREE. FREE ITEMS - 3 TM'S On the top floor of the Celadon Dept. Store this is a little girl who is thirsty... Go buy some soda, water, and lemonade, talk to her 3 times and give her one of the drinks each time. She will give you 3 TMs which are very useful and will save you a lot of time trying to make you Pokémon learn them by gaining levels. FREE ITEMS POKé-BALLS At a Pokémart, select buy, then select Poké-balls, set the quantity to 3 and no money will be taken. You can do this up until you have 99 Poké-balls. UNLIMITED ITEMS If you goto Viridian and talk to the guy that has has his coffee and say you ARE in a hurry and DON'T watch the mini video. Now fly to Cinnibar and surf kind of on the edge and you will get very high level Pokémon like 141!!!! But if you say you are in a hurry and see Missingno your 6th item will be unlimited!!! PHANTOM PC In Celedon City go to the hotel in the bottom right corner and go inside. Face where the computer would be in a Pokemon Center and press A. The same screen should come up that appears when you use the PC in the Pokemon Center. CLONE A POKéMON 1. Make all the arrangements. 2. Take the Pokémon you want cloned on one Game Boy, and on the other get a stupid, weak one that you wouldn't mind loosing (Pigdey, Rattata, Zubat, etc...) 3. Now, the person with the to be cloned Pokémon, trade with the other. 4. Whoever owns the to be cloned one, turn off your gameboy at the first "waiting" sign. 5. The ot. (original trainer) should have the original, and the other person will have the good one instead of the weak one! Now you both have the same exact one! EASY LV100 POKéMON To catch a Pokémon at over LV100 you should talk to the guy outside of Viridian City who shows you how too catch Pokémon. Then you go to the Missingno. shore, and swim up and down it. You will find Pokémon over LV100 there. NOTES: The type of Pokémon it is depends on your game. Also the Pokémon will be brought down to LV100 after getting any EXP. Sorry this is not a religious bash either, I'm just re-printing the news. ----- Pastor calls Pokemon 'poison' By Erin Emery Denver Post Southern Colorado Bureau Aug. 14 - COLORADO SPRINGS - A minister used a blowtorch and a sword during a church service this week to drive home his belief that Pokemon games and toys are only sugar-coated instruments of the occult and evil. At a church service Wednesday at Grace Fellowship Church, children's pastor Mark Juvera told 85 children ages 6 through 12 that Pokemon is evil. To make his point, Juvera burned Pokemon trading cards with a blowtorch and struck a plastic Pokemon action figure with a 30-inch sword. Juvera's 9-year-old son then tore the limbs and head off a Pokemon doll. During the demonstration, the children chanted: "Burn it. Burn it," and "Chop it up. Chop it up." Manufacturers of the hugely popular Pokemon products, including Nintendo and Hasbro Inc., said they've never heard of Pokemon being associated with the occult. And the national Christian Coalition told The Denver Post on Friday that it will stay out of the fray over Pokemon. "We won't weigh in on it at all," said Chris Freund, a spokesman for the national Christian Coalition based in Virginia. "It's a church issue and not a policy issue. We've never heard about it." Beth Llewelyn, spokeswoman for the Redmond, Wash.-based Nintendo, said the company had never heard of anything like this before. "We've only heard good things, very ... positive things about Pokemon," Llewelyn said. "We get volumes and volumes of letters from parents and kids about how wonderful they think Pokemon is. They say, "My kids are now reading because they want to read all they can about Pokemon.' It's a universally positive experience." Holly Ingram, a spokeswoman for Hasbro Inc., said Pokemon - one of the most popular toy crazes this year - has been favorably received by parents and children. "For us, it's been a completely positive response from parents and kids. Everything we've done with Pokemon has been positive. I really can't imagine how somebody would feel that way about it," Ingram said. Pokemon, (pronounced POH-kaymahn), is short for pocket monsters. The pop-culture phenomenon began in Japan as a cartridge for Nintendo, Game Boy and Nintendo 64 and quickly spread to America. Its popularity fueled the debut of the Pokemon animated television series. Hasbro has a line of toys and merchandise for kid collectors and a third company, Wizards of the Coast, based in Seattle, sells Pokemon trading cards. This fall, a Pokemon movie will hit movie theatres across the country. "The whole idea behind Pokemon is to become a "master trainer," Ingram said. "Kids look for different Pokemon characters, find them and use strategy and tactics to capture them in a very mildmannered way. It's not very violent at all. They collect them, and when they've collected all of them, they become a Pokemon master." At Grace Fellowship Church, pastors learned of the occult angle after receiving an e-mail of an Internet essay written by a California woman. The essay says Pokemon encourages role-playing that elevates children over God to the position of master and that the games and toys are laced with dark references. Mark Cowart, pastor of the 1,500-member, nondenominational church, said the essay confirmed his suspicions about Pokemon. While driving with his kids, he heard them in the back seat talking about "Abra" and "Cadabra," and "my antenna went up," Cowart said. Cowart said one of his concerns is that one of the Pokeman characters sprouts horns. Another concern, he said, is that children exploring a Pokemon Web site can click to other games, including "Magic: the Gathering," a game similar to Dungeons and Dragons. "It's got sugar coating on it, but, underneath, it's poison," Cowart said. Focus on the Family, the Colorado Springs-based Christian organization whose messages reach as many as 5 million people weekly via radio broadcasts, has not researched Pokemon, said Julie Able, project coordinator the Youth Culture Department. Cowart said the church used the sword and blowtorch to get its message across to kids because "we live in a sight-and-sound generation. A little church is competing against Hollywood with multibillion budgets." He said kids are used to visual messages, and if you give them a linear message, they'll be bored. Cowart said the sword was used in the demonstration because the Bible says that the "way you come down against the powers of darkness is with the sword of the spirit. We don't do things just for the sake of being sensational like the World Federation of Wrestling."
