It is a rhythm game similar to that of Dance Dance Revolution or other Bemani type games. Every rhythm game uses a special type of controller instead of a joystick. The controller in this case is a set of bongo drums that you would find at a cliche‚ poetry cafe‚. Section 3: History 8/23/04: 1.0- First version of the guide, song lists obtained and organized without hearing for regional differences. 10/28/04 2.0- After learning that the American and Japanese Pokemon and Kirby themes are different, I made different entries for each. I've also added most of the Artists to the US songs. I'm still missing some, mainly for the children's songs and classical songs. Section 4: Quick Instructions Since this is a simple, yet addicting rhythm game, the controls are simple, but there will always be a small group of people who need a refresher or a first lesson in rhythm games. The main objective of rhythm games is to activate a specific portion(s) of the special controller as is passes over a section on the screen. In Donkey Konga, the "notes" you have to play come from right to left across the screen until they reach a circle on the far left side of the screen. This circle will be on the same bar the notes travel on. In Donkey Konga, you will experience 4 different types of notes, each signifying how to either tap the drum or clap. Yellow circle: Left drum Red circle: Right drum Purple circle: Both drums together Bluish explosion: Clap hands You may also experience times when there is a long stream of a continuous "note". Just repeat that one note as quickly as possible from the start to the end of the stream. Section 5: Purpose of This Guide As many people may or may not know, there are different song versions of Donkey Konga for each region. Some songs are exclusive to certain regions, available on multiple regions, or available on any region of Donkey Konga and the currently Japan-only sequel, Donkey Konga 2: Hit Song Parade. Because of this, I have compiled the track lists for each Konga game for each region, and listed which game and region they appear in. Time for the main course.
