I mean, come on, there are Monkys running around in balls for godness sake. However, once you move past the first couple of stages in Beginner, you will see the difficulty start to increase. By the end of Beginner settings, you will soon realize that you have agame that will challenge your most supreme gaming skills (it is Beginner that helps you to realize this!). Add in three great party games along with three unlocable Mini Games, you have one hell of a great single player or multiple player romp fit for all ages! The following is the exact story given from Sega's website on the game of Super Monkey Ball, and is in no way the work of Brian P. Sulpher. The Monkeys were out and about enjoying some Bananas one day, when suddenly the ground shook from a huge impact! The dust cleared to reveal some open balls on the ground, and the curious Monkeys decided to check them out. After setting foot into the balls, they quickly closed up to jet off into the sky! Where are the Monkeys going, who has sent the balls, and what is the purpose behind all of this? No one knows for sure, but these Monkeys are off to the floors in the sky to find Bananas and have an incredible adventure! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Characters----------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) This section will give a brief look at each character, and what their relations are to one another. o------o | AiAi | o------o This guy is the Cool Monkey of the group. It was through his charm that he won the heart of MeeMee instead of GonGon (they were rivals when trying for her heart, they now are friends) winning her. He has the most average abilities of all the monkies when it comes to the Party and Mini Games. o--------o | MeeMee | o--------o This girl is the Pretty Monkey of the group. She had to choose between AiAi and GonGon, and after a tough choice she went with AiAi. She tends to have good control, but tends to be a lightweight when physical forces are involved. o--------o | GonGon | o--------o This brute is the Strong Monkey of the group. He was involved in the contest with AiAi (his rival at the time) for MeeMee's heart, which he lost out on. He is now good friends with the other Monkeys, and he is always willing to lend a hand. Always one to use his strength to his advantage, it often makes situations where touch is needed harder for him. o------o | Baby | o------o This Monkey is the Cute Monkey of the group. This Monkey is a somewhat mysterious enigma, with no one knowing exactly where it is from. It is rumoured to be the child of AiAi and MeeMee that has come from the future back into the past to help the others. Baby tends to try and take shortcuts whenever it can, but it will often suffer from this attack plan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------Menu Selections--------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) This section will look at all the Men Selections, and what each choice leads to in the game (what each choice means). o------------o | Start Game | o------------o -Takes you into the game mode selection area. o---------o | Options | o---------o -Replays can be viewed here that have been saved to the Memory Card. -This section will give your current Play Point Stats. It will list the Mini Games unlocked, how many points needed to next Mini Game/Continue unlocking, and the highest Play Point total recieved. -Rankings will have all of the scores collected on the Memory Card for every play mode. -Sound allows you to set the sound for Stereo or Mono. -Split Screen will give the option of having any player in a three player match have the large screen. -Controllers will allow players to calibrate their Analog Stick as well as turning the rumble feature ON/OFF. -Game Data will allow the loading of new Memory Card info, save the current progress, set Autosave (save after every game exit) to ON/OFF, and Original Settings will return game data back to original settings. o-----------o | Main Game | o-----------o -Normal Mode is the path to the regular courses. Anyway, head straight from the starting point, grab the first Banana in front of you, cut right for a Banana, and then left for another Banana. Now you should head full steam for the GOAL to finish the level, and as you go through the gate, you will collect the Banana on the far side of the gate with your momentum. A fun, random note for this level that is in fact possible to die. The walkthrough here will be split into the BLUE GOAL, and the GREEN GOAL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~BLUE GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To get this exit, head around the large hole in the middle of the floor, grab the Banana as you go, grab the Banana by the back wall, and then go through the GOAL to head off to Floor Three! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~GREEN GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the start, go forward a little bit, turn around 180 degrees, run towards the ramp on the wall behind you, and start up it. Once you have hit the small flat part on top you will need to pull back on the Analog Stick to slow your Monkey Ball down, and as you fall off the ramp (try to be dead centre off the ramp) be sure to pull directly backwards. Once you hit the platform, do not touch the Analog Stick, let your Monkey bounce to a complete stop, and then go through the GOAL to warp to Floor Five! o----------------o | Beginner Three | o----------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 4 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 Floor Three has two straightaways beside one another, and you start on the straightaway right beside the GOAL on the other straightaway. Keep in mind that the large moving platform will continue to move at all times, and it never once comes to a rest. -Another quick note for you to know is that the seven Bananas will NOT move with the platform, so be wary as you collect them along your path to the GOAL. There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. The FAST WAY is more dangerous, but you will score higher. THE SLOW WAY is safer, but your score will be lower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SLOW WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This method calls for you to head forward from the start, move onto the swinging platform, and then heading forward through the Bananas towards the end of the platform. Go down it, slow down at the bottom, get the two Bananas, and then line up for the next hill. Now head down the next hill (they get thinner and steeper as you go), slow down near the bottom, collect the two Bananas, and then line up with the next hill. Go down the hill, slow down near the bottom, collect the two Bananas, and line up for the final hill. Head straight down the VERY steep hill (try to be in the exact centre), and then roll through the goal to go on to Floor Seven! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Right at the start you will turn right to roll off the ledge to fall to the one below you. Next, you will use your momentum to bounce down to the ledge below that one. To beat this level, we are going to concentrate on just reaching the GOAL. Wait for the square to come to you, get on board, and walk slowly forward with the movement of the square back to the centre. Once the squares have rejoined, run directly across the large suqare towards the opposite corner (start to slow as you near it). Once on it, walk with the square as it heads toward the GOAL, and when it reaches, go through the GOAL to get to Floor Nine! You can also use the same method of movements to get the Banana Bunches on the platforms to your left and right from the Starting Point. o---------------o | Beginner Nine | o---------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 1 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 For this level, head right along the floor till you reach a red arrow on the ground. At this point you should charge down the ramp towards the jump at the bottom, and after you go airbourne (you will get the Banana Bunch if this is done properly), you should start to pull back on the Analog Stick. As soon as you make contact with the wall, you need to change your pressure on the Analog Stick so you will be trying to go toward the wall you just hit. Head up the slope (if you start to wobble, you will likely fall off due to the increased slope here), and then turn left to find the next path. Carefully wind your way around the curvy path, and you will arrive at the GOAL to finish Beginner Mode! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Head straight down the narrow path, turn right, and go off the ledge ahead of you to land on the platform below (pull back to slow your descent so you will not fall off the course). Once the platforms starts moving again, it comes out the back due to momentum. There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. The FAST WAY is more dangerous, but you will score higher. THE SLOW WAY is safer, but your score will be lower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SLOW WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Get onto the platform as it comes near your platform, and start to pick your way across the platforms carefully. Remember to get on the solid platform pieces when you reach the wall, and then continue onwards. You will reach the far platform and bust the tape of the GOAL to go on to the next Floor! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This method requires you to run across the platforms on a diagonal to the last moving platform, where you wait for it to reach the far ledge. This is the time to go flying in to break the tape, and go to the final Beginner Extra Floor! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Run forward immediately as the level starts, and start to shade to the right as you approach the GOAL. You will break the tape in under two seconds, but this method requires some practice to master. Anyway, onto the final Beginner Extra Floor! o----------------------o | Beginner Extra Three | o----------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 This level is the logo of Amusement Vision (the programming team that works for SEGA). It rocks all around in the air, and it is shiny so it reflects all light that touches it (these make it fairly hard to control yourself on it). Head forward upon starting, drop onto the shiny surface, head between the "a" and the "v" cut out of the floor, and turn right when you get past the end of the "v". Keep turning right till you see the GOAL, and you should head through it to finish off the Beginner Extra Floors! Keep in mind that a slower pace will make it easier to control your Monkey than speeding through like a maniac. You have completely finished Beginner Mode, so you must be proud of yourself, huh? Well I say to you that Advanced beckons with more Floors, harder challenges, more Warps, and even more Extra Floors for you to conquer! There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. The FAST WAY is more dangerous, but you will score higher. THE SLOW WAY is safer, but your score will be lower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SLOW WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This method calls for you to head forward from the start, move onto the swinging platform, and then heading forward through the Bananas towards the end of the platform. The walkthrough here will be split into the BLUE GOAL, and the GREEN GOAL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~BLUE GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To get this exit, go to the edge of the folding floor, and as the floor starts to rise up, go onto it. Now you need to rush to the GOAL quickly before the slant of the floor becomes too severe for your Monkey Ball to climb it (if you miss, steer away from the centre hole so you can make another attempt). Once you get through the GOAL, onto Floor Seven! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~GREEN GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the start, go forward a little bit, turn around 180 degrees, run towards the ramp on the wall behind you, and start up it. Once you have hit the small flat part on top you will need to pull back on the Analog Stick to slow your Monkey Ball down, and as you fall off the ramp (try to be dead centre off the ramp) be sure to pull directly backwards. Once you hit the platform, do not touch the Analog Stick, let your Monkey bounce to a complete stop, and then go through the GOAL to warp to Floor Ten! o----------------o | Advanced Seven | o----------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 6 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 This level requires the player to simply follow the path till you reach the GOAL. This level even has a small lip on both sides of the path that help to keep your Monkey Ball on the path, which is good because the path is somewhat lengthy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SHORTCUTS~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -At the start, you can go off the right wall to land on the ledge below to cut a few seconds off of your time before heading along the normal path. To beat this level, we are going to concentrate on just reaching the GOAL. Wait for the square to come to you, get on board, and walk slowly forward with the movement of the square back to the centre. Once the squares have rejoined, run left around the cross, and then head towards the corner square nearest the GOAL. You can also go to the corner piece where it goes to a Banana Bunch, and then comes back, where you will head for the square nearest the GOAL. Now ride the square to the GOAL, and break the tape to get to Floor Ten! o----------------------o | Advanced Ten (Bonus) | o----------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 50 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 0 This level has no gate for you to go through, you just need to collect as many Bananas as you can before time expires. Anyway, on this level you need to contend with the rippling floor as the middle kicks wave after wave at you. Go around the outside ring of Bananas in a steady speed (this will get the first 30 Bananas), and then you will need to fight more severe wave levels as you move to the inside ring (you are closer to the centre of the wave producer). You will need to be dead on in your Banana collecting here or else you will not get all 50 Bananas. o-----------------o | Advanced Eleven | o-----------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 25 Banana Bunches : 12 Number Of Gates: 2 This level is shaped like a guitar, with the "strings" being the path that you will have to traverse. Each string gets a rating on it, with 1.0 being the easiest, and 0.1 being the hardest. From the start point looking at the strings, the easiest to hardest is left to right. Floor Eleven offers two gates to exit through. The walkthrough here will be split into the BLUE GOAL, and the GREEN GOAL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~BLUE GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For this path, you can choose from the 1.0, 0.4, 0.3, 0.2, and 0.1 wires going across the wide expanse. I suggest you begin working on the 1.0 wire, and then move to the slimmer wires where Bananas are available to be snagged (as you improve in skill). Go across the wire in a somewhat fast fashion, slow down near the far ledge, turn right, go forward, turn left, turn left again, go up the slope, and go through the GOAL to reach Floor Twelve! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~GREEN GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For this warp, you need to take the right-most wire (it is a 0.1). Go right from the start, line up your path across the wire, and then zoom across the razor thin wire to reach the GOAL as you collect 63 Bananas total along the way! You will warp to Floor 14! o-----------------o | Advanced Twelve | o-----------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 8 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. The FAST WAY is more dangerous, but you will score higher. THE SLOW WAY is safer, but your score will be lower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SLOW WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drop into the bowl in front of you, and proceed to roll around the edge of the bowl to break the tape on the GOAL to go on to Floor Thirteen! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the start, launch your Monkey Ball off of the left corner of the ledge where the starting point is so you go through the GOAL on the fly to get to Floor Thirteen! o-------------------o | Advanced Thirteen | o-------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 6 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 This level requires you to move onto the grey launchers while facing forward. This will allow your Monkey to move onto the higher ledge ahead of them. The launchers will go off when the red sliders on the wall reach the same area as the launcher. Walk forward from the start to get onto the launcher before the red sliders reach it (launch up onto the next ledge). If you tilt right, all the spokes will move right, and the same holds true for all other directions. There are two methods of doing this floor, and both are quite easy to do if you just pay attention to the position of the spokes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~METHOD #1~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This method is simply done by walking around the perimeter of the platform so the pieces ahead of you keep moving in as you shift around. Once you get behind the GOAL, bust the tape to head off to Floor Fifteen! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~METHOD #2~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I like to call this one the "Wiggler Way". Start by going in where two spokes cut your advancement off. Now get positioned so you are almost between them, and then slowly move the level back and forth until you slip through the barriers. The top left corner of this map gets so severe that if you go too low onto the edge, your Monkey will be unable to climb back up (you will lose a Monkey). To start off we head straight, turn right 180 degrees (around the pit), up the next straightaway, and then turn left 180 degrees (around the pit). Now head straight once more, turn right 180 degrees (around the pit), and then go straight. Turn left 180 degrees (around the pit), go straight, turn right 180 degrees (be sure to make this one tight to the pit to avoid the unsalvageable position near the edge), and then go straight to the GOAL where you need to go partially over the edge to reach the GOAL. Congratulations on beating on e of the hardest Advanced levels there are, and go on ahead to Floor Sixteen! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SHORTCUTS~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the start you can cut right to fall to the ledge below, saving the travel down a straightaway, a turn, and then another straightaway. Just be sure to get full control of your Monkey before starting out on the rest of the course. When making the turns after the straightaways run out, be sure to hug the pits tightly. This will ensure minimal influence of the severe slopes at the end of each section. Get lined up for the next narrow path, cross the narrow path (this is a hill, so do not start wobbling or you will die), cross one of the small bridges, and then line yourself up for the ride down the stairs (be sure to slow down about halfway down so you do not fly off the far side of the far platform due to your momentum). Turn left to find the winding, narrow path that you will need to go across fairly fast (just be sure to use your faster speed on the small straightaways of this path). But the tape of the GOAL to go on to Floor Eighteen! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hold UP right at the start to go across the narrow path, turn right, line yourself up, and then go across the narrow path to the far platform. Be sure to start holding DOWN to slow your descent to the platform (this way your momentum will not carry you off). These are used in musical sheets. Floor Eighteen offers three gates to exit through. The walkthrough here will be split into the BLUE GOAL, GREEN GOAL, and the RED GOAL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~BLUE GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Head down the slope quickly to catch the Blue Goal in about 12 to 16 seconds. This will take you to Floor Nineteen! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~GREEN GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You can chase the Green Goal down by flying down the Treble Clef on the path from the start. You should catch it around 30 to 35 seconds after beginning the level. This will warp you to Floor Twenty! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~RED GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is impossible to chase this one down from the start on the normal path, so you will have to take a shortcut. At the start, go off the right side between the first two arrows on the sloped wall. As you land, be sure to be over the Treble Clef, and then move to the right side of the hill (as you are facing up it right now). When you land, be sure to pull back until you hit the wall, at which point you will push towards the wall so you stay on the platform. THE SLOW WAY is safer, but your score will be lower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SLOW WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Start by go on a diagonal line between the holes in the floor to the right, and then go to the outside edge of the platform to go around the larger holes. Once you come to a spot where a square outline is cut out of the floor, turn right to go forward until you see the edge, where you need to turn left. After going forward till the ramp on your right goes to the flat platform is where you turn right to go across the narrow path to go up the ramp at the far side. Turn right to go along another narrow path until you have to turn right before coming to another right turn. Head across the bridge to see the GOAL, and you can go straight through it, or you can go around to get a Banana Bunch behind the GOAL before heading off to Floor Twenty-Four! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the start you need to go right around the small squares to go over the gap ahead, and then continue forward till you are by the ramp that goes to the flat platform below. Right fromt he start roll forward at the wall that prohibits your Monkey from reaching the Green Goal. Angle the Monkey Ball so it will aim for the ramped portion of the hole in the floor so the Monkey Ball will get airbourne, clearing the fence to land on the far side, allowing the player to roll through the gate in mere seconds! o---------------------o | Advanced Twenty-Six | o---------------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 6 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. As you fall down, try to modify your flight path in mid-air so your Ball will pass through the tape unmolested by the Party Ball. To save some time, you will hold UP before the level starts, and keep going till you hop the gap ahead (stop holding UP, and turn right). Now you just need to make your way through the long paths until you get to the GOAL to go on to the next Advance Extra stage! Keep in mind that you should run fast on the straightaways, and then slow down and take the corner at the same time to save time (that kind of rhymed there ^_^). o---------------------o | Advanced Extra Four | o---------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 This level is the logo of Amusement Vision (the programming team that works for SEGA). It rocks all around in the air, and it is shiny so it reflects all light that touches it (these make it fairly hard to control yourself on it). Head forward upon starting, drop onto the shiny surface, head between the "a" and the "v" cut out of the floor, and turn right when you get past the end of the "v". Keep turning right till you see the GOAL, and you should head through it to head off to the final Advance Extra Floor! Keep in mind that a slower pace will make it easier to control your Monkey than speeding through like a maniac. o---------------------o | Advanced Extra Five | o---------------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 0 Banana Bunches : 3 Number Of Gates: 2 The first half of this level is the exact same as Advanced Thirty, but the second half is pure evil (even more so than Advanced Thirty). Start by walking forward onto the small platform in front of you, continuing forward across the next small platform (move diagonally to do so), across the bumper platform, across the next small platform, and then come to a stop on the next bumper platform (face right). Keep in mind that for the above steps to work, you need to do it in one fluid motion. Wait till the moving platform comes toward you with the one in the next ring is right beside it to get onto the second one. Now wait there for a longer platform to come from behind you, and go onto it to get over to the large patch of platforms moving in the opposite direction. Turn around to go in the same direction as those platforms, and set foot onto the platform on your right to get to the ring beside the flipping ring. Continue in the same direction till you arrive at the location of the axis of the spinning ring. Now you need to wait for the ring to flip around to be parallel to the ring you are on, and then quickly move across (you can cheat a little bit by starting forward as it starts to line up parallel with the ring you are on). Once you land on the outside ring, carefully make your way around the ring in either direction while staying on the outside portion of the ring (if you are too close to the inside of the ring you are on, the swinging ring can knock you out of play). Go through the GOAL to finish off your Advance Extra adventures! You have completely finished Advanced Mode, so you must be proud of yourself, huh? Well I say to you that Expert beckons with more Floors, harder challenges, more Warps, and even more Extra Floors for you to conquer! At this point you should run through the GOAL to head off to Floor Four! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~GREEN GOAL~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will need to go to one side (go right if you are going for faster time), and you will need to go onto the spinning platform as it come around so you can quickly go through the GOAL. This is an extremely tough feat to pull off, but if it works, you will go on to Floor Five! o-------------o | Expert Four | o-------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 6 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 -Although you have 60 seconds to do this level, it is perhaps the longest Floor in the game. You need to be fast in your speed, and proficient in your control. Go forward from the start, turn right, turn left, turn left, and then turn right to go over the two small kills. When you reach the edge of this platform, get on the moving platform, transfer to the next one, and then get to the far platform. Now wait for the next moving ledge, get on it, and then get on the next platform. Start running forward at a high speed to hop the gap, and after you hit the hump in the road, pull back so you will not go flying off the platform. Head up the ramp at top speed when you are positioned in the middle of it to get a Banana Bunch (be sure to slow down after landing). Now head forward to come to a widening of the platform, where 5 bumpers are arranged as follows: || +---++---+ |UP UP| | UP | |UP UP| +--+ +--+ | | You will need to carefully maneuver through the bumpers, and then you have to go along the narrow curved path till you arrive at the top of a slope. Start the level off by going to the right, to the very end of the platform. Wait for the two small square platforms to come towards your position, and then get on the one on the right. Ride it carefully back to the rejoining with the other 7 small squares that make up that platform. Get to the top right corner of it (the one closest to the GOAL), and ride it till it gets back with the other 7 platforms. Then you need to go to the one platform that is to the up-right of yours (the one that is located where EAST is on a compass when compared to my diagram), and get on the top right square of it (again, this is the one closest to the GOAL). Now ride that platform till it breaks apart with your Monkey Ball riding the small square to the corner platform where the GOAL awaits your arrival. Now go on through to head off to Floor Seven! o--------------o | Expert Seven | o--------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 3 Banana Bunches :0 Number Of Gates: 1 -This level is perhaps the most evil one to ever exist. Many people despise this level, and with good reason due to every section having a legitimate danger in ever section. HERE WE GO! Immediately hold UP before the round starts so your Monkey will sprint straight up the first incline with no difficulty. Once on the top platform, go to the left edge as you come up, turn around, and run over the nasty slope bridge thrown at you to come down on the far side. Now you should turn right to line yourself up for the stairs, and then head down the narrow path, remembering to keep your speed at a moderate level, or face flying off the end of the lower platform. Next you will have to maneuver across the diagonally lined up blocks here (just carefully go from block to block), or you can use speed to hop across (harder to stop before the cliff though). Now you have to climb a subtle slope of the long, narrow, winding pathway. The paths are much more narrow, the time is cut in half, and the platforms all have holes in them. There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. The FAST WAY is more dangerous, but you will score higher. THE SLOW WAY is safer, but your score will be lower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~SLOW WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go down each narrow hill while slowing down near the end so you can make the turn to get to the next slope quickly. This method will leave you with little time to error, so do your best to be fast and efficient in your movements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ GO down the first slope, slowing down so you do not fly off the platform. Go to the outside edge you look at as you come down the slope, turn right, and then hop down to the next platform below you. From there, I suggest you finish the level off normally, although it is possible to leap down to the GOAL area for a real fast finish (not recommended due to extreme difficulty in doing so). o-------------o | Expert Nine | o-------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 15 Banana Bunches : 19 Number Of Gates: 1 -There are a mind boggling 205 Bananas in this level, but of course there is no way for you to collect them all (unless your name is packattack or something!). -Since you have to choose between five different wires for your path to the GOAL, I will list the stats of each wire, and you can decide for yourself on which route to take. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~0.5 WIRE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ -0 Bananas, 0 Banana Bunches. -Longest wire, but also the widest wire. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~0.4 WIRE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ -5 Bananas, 0 Banana Bunches. -Slightly shorter wire, but slightly smaller wire. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~0.3 WIRE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ -0 Bananas, 3 Banana Bunches. -The wire really starts to get small when you get this low, but it is the third shortest path. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~0.2 WIRE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ -0 Bananas, 7 Banana Bunches. -This wire is very small, and it allows for VERY little error, but it also has little distance to cover. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~0.1 WIRE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ -8 Bananas, 9 Banana Bunches. -The smallest wire possible, but it is easily the shortest wire as well. Be sure to get the Banana by the GOAL regardless of which wire you take, and then head off to Floor Ten! o--------------------o | Expert Ten (Bonus) | o--------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 50 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 0 This level has no gate for you to go through, you just need to collect as many Bananas as you can before time expires. Anyway, on this level you need to contend with the rippling floor as the middle kicks wave after wave at you. Go around the outside ring of Bananas in a steady speed (this will get the first 30 Bananas), and then you will need to fight more severe wave levels as you move to the inside ring (you are closer to the centre of the wave producer). Then you should pull back to slow your Monkey Ball down to a decent speed, and maneuver your way through the small holes presented to you for the next seven sets, and you should arrive at the GOAL with less than ten seconds remaining on the timer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This method requires a kamikaze pilot's courage as you will need to bowl forward at a high speed while making the turns between the bumper sets to get by the upcoming set. Slowing down a bit to get across the path is advisable, but generally you are trying to go high speed down this. Much more dangerous than the other method, but you will score a whole lot higher for the level! -Try a combo of the two strategies to get the perfect run for your style. o---------------o | Expert Twelve | o---------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 Start the level off by going to the left against the spin of the gear. Get the Banana Bunch, cross to the next gear to go against it's regular spin direction for another Banana Bunch, and when you cross to the next gear, switch up your fight against the gear to go with them by going on the right side of the gear. Now get onto the fourth gear, get to the other side of it, and then get onto the swinging double arrow platform. Stay on the end you got on at, and just let it swing around to meet the GOAL, where you can then blast off into the sky to Floor Thirteen! o-----------------o | Expert Thirteen | o-----------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 6 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 Start off by going on a diagonal to the left on the second diagonal from the left at top speed until you hit the cliff, which will bounce you over the hole (at which point you need to pull back on your Analog Stick to stay out of the hole ahead). From there, you should run forward, but angle slightly to the left as you go to hit the next cliff to bounce yourself over the hole there. Now you need to follow the left edge around the hole in the middle until you see a ramp on your left leading down to a flat platform (take that part of the ramp). Run across your narrow path to get up the next hill (careful of not over shooting the platform), and then take the outside path at a good speed so when the hole in the track comes up, you will hop it (again being careful not to over shoot the far platform. Now you have to make your Monkey ball hang partially off the platform as you maneuver past the three bumpers here that take up most of the platform before you arrive at the small path to the GOAL, which will take your Monkey up to Floor Fifteen! o----------------o | Expert Fifteen | o----------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 4 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 -This level has a wall of bumpers, a moving GOAL, and then another bumper wall behind it before it opens up to 24 Bananas behind it on a narrow platform with a wall of bumpers behind it. To beat this, you simply have to time your run into the GOAL when it is sliding to the middle section of it's patrol (this lines up with the narrow path). Hold Up off the start for about half a second, let go, and then after a second, hold UP once more to go bust through the tape of the GOAL to head off to Floor Sixteen! -You may need to alter your timing slightly, but this method works for me nine times out of ten. o----------------o | Expert Sixteen | o----------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 4 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. Hold your Analog Stick so it will slow your descent down the hill (hold LEFT for sure), and you need to maneuver yourself diagonally across the two squares until you are above the GOAL. Then you should slow yourself down to as slow as possible, and then wrap around into the GOAL as you approach it to head off to Floor Seventeen! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Launch yourself off the ledge ahead of you when you start, but you need to angle left slightly. When you hit the platform below, you need to alter your trajectory as needed to go through the GOAL to get up to Floor Seventeen! o------------------o | Expert Seventeen | o------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 4 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 -Although this level looks enormous, it is actually quite small for where you have to get to. Start off by going out on the conveyor belt as the bumper set passes you. Duck into the next walkway, grab the Banana, and then go back out on the conveyor belt to make the next section. Keep this pattern going until you reach the one where you need to reach the GOAL. Make sure to take more of a run at the lip there, or else the upcoming bumper set will get you! Head off to Floor Twenty-One! o-------------------o | Expert Twenty-One | o-------------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 9 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 -This level is a huge pain in the ass, and it is one that will cause a lot of frustration to rookie players. This level has the narrow path lined up right towards the GOAL, so it sounds easy, but you have to avoid the walls crashing in from both sides of the path. You will need to go down the path, and when a wall approaches from the left, you will need to have your Monkey Ball hanging half off the path to the right. The same goes with the wall approaching from the right, you will need to have your Monkey Ball hanging half off the path on the left. Just work your way forward at a speed you are comfortable with (it will need to be decently fast for the slope on the last third of the path), and when you clear the crashing walls, get the Banana Bunches behind the GOAL before heading off to Floor Twenty-Two! o-------------------o | Expert Twenty-Two | o-------------------o Time Limit : 60 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 -This is the "SEGA" level. The level is an exact replica of the SEGA logo, and you will need to be right on to make your way across the bars that make the name up. Start by heading for the ramp, take it a moderate speed (angle to the right when you launch off of it), and then run full speed at the "E", making sure that while on the "S" you angle left to get to the spot where they are closer together. Now you should go along the outside of the "E" (either direction) to hit the "G" (again angling inward on the "G" to cross less hole). Once you arrive on the "G", make your way to the bottom of it to jump the small gap to the inside portion of the "A" (making sure not to fall down any hole around the "A"). All you have to do is be fast on the straight parts, and slow down for the corners. The trick is when you go over a half pipe wall, you need to pull back so you will roll down the side of the next one. Why do you have to do this you ask? Well, this will help you to have enough momentum to clear the next wall of the half pipe. Just follow this method, and you make it to the GOAL easily so you can advance to Floor Twenty-Six! o-------------------o | Expert Twenty-Six | o-------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 17 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 There are two ways to go about beating this level: the FAST WAY and the SLOW WAY. Then you just keep moving down the rows in this pattern, and you should get all 40 Bananas before the 60 seconds expire (if you do not, it will not cost you a Monkey). As the path narrows, slow your speed down so you will be under control. When you reach the path that is not as wide as your Monkey Ball, it is time to start crawling along, and then when you hit the super narrow path, crawl along at a few miles per hour maximum. Once you make the curve on the slender path, go forward at full speed to go through the GOAL, to get the Banana Bunch before you go off to Floor Thirty-Three! o---------------------o | Expert Thirty-Three | o---------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 1 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 This is the funnel-like level you have seen before, but this time there are posts to knock you down into the hole below. Before you head off into the funnel, pick the path you want to take, and then stick to using that one. With the posts being such a threat, it is not a good idea to go into this level with a blind eye to your path. Once you get through the posts, go through the GOAL to earn your way to Floor Thirty-Four! o--------------------o | Expert Thirty-Four | o--------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 0 Banana Bunches : 3 Number Of Gates: 1 On this level you have three cylinders that roll back and forth across the path to the GOAL. Three Banana Bunches float off to your right for you to collect (if you want to). Anyway, get onto the cylinder in front of you (you need to go to the right a bit), and then the three cylinders will line up so you should run forward along the "top" of the cylinders to make it to the GOAL platform. Wait till the platforms are nearly reconnected, and then sprint to the fourth platform where the GOAL awaits. They go to the left, to the right. to the left, to the right, and so on. Pick one side of the level that you will feel sticking to. Then your job is to run out onto the first platform as it moves to your chosen side, fight gravity as you move towards the edge of the platform, and then go onto the second platform as soon as you possibly can to fight gravity and get near the edge of the platform. Now do the same deal with the third platform, and when you land on the fourth platform, just run across to get to the GOAL platform where you can collect the Banana at the back before playing in the confetti of the Party Ball. Then you are to head off to Floor Forty! o----------------------o | Expert Forty (Bonus) | o----------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 50 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 -This is the only Bonus Floor to actually have a gate for you to go through before time expires. You will start on top of a large ramp where you should g forward down the ramp to get some Bananas as you go down, and pull back a bit if you get ahead of the moving pack of Bananas. When you near the end of the ramp, push UP to get a good launch off the ramp so you will stay near the Bananas, and then swerve through the group to get as many as you can. Once the Bananas get near the end of the runway, they will take off into the air, and you should then break the tape on the GOAL to head off to Floor Forty-One! o------------------o | Expert Forty-One | o------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 8 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 -This Floor is very similar to Advance Twelve, but this time the bottom of the bowl has a big hole in it. Run down the diagonal path here, turn left, and get onto a swinging platform to ride it to the next platform across the way from where you got on the swinging platform. Now you need to get on a swinging platform here, and when it is coming to the pinnacle of it's swing, you need to roll off to land on the platform below. Once you land on it, stay put till it brings you up to the next platform, and then go through the GOAL to earn your flight to Floor Forty-Four! o-------------------o | Expert Forty-Four | o-------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 4 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 -This level has a narrow path that is relatively flat on top of a connected set of cylinders. The path is highlighted by being a different colour than the cylinder is, so try and stay to the green and lighter blue sections to remain impervious to the effects of the rounded cylinder. Although you can set your Monkey Ball on the cylinder sections of the level, you risk having the slope and gravity drag you down into the long fall below you. Head straight from the starting position, turn left, and then run the curve on top of the cylinder path at a moderate speed. Turn right on the next cylinder, go straight, and then turn left onto the curved cylinder to run the curved path on top at a moderate speed. Using this method, you will fly to the GOAL in no time flat, which gets you a one-way ticket to Floor Forty-Nine! o--------------------o | Expert Forty-Eight | o--------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 8 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 -This level has a simplistic design, but it does have a deceptive nature to it. Start off by going left onto the twisty path, and then you need to fight against the slopes of the turns. However, keep in mind that you will need to slow down your pressure on the Analog Stick as you clear each slope on the corners, or else you may tumble into the great wide open below! Once you reach the GOAL, break through the tape to head off to Floor Forty-Nine! o-------------------o | Expert Forty-Nine | o-------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 3 Banana Bunches : 2 Number Of Gates: 1 -This levels has six sets of bumpers (six per set) that rotate around in a counter-clockwise manner while protecting a single Banana (three of them), Banana Bunch (two of them), and a GOAL (one of them). Start off by letting the bumper sets go by you with their treasure inside (unless you are REALLY CLOSE to a 1-Up), and also let the GOAL set of bumpers pass by as well. Now you should chase the GOAL set, and time your entry with the swinging of the GOAL to reveal a path right to the tape. Once you do it, you are off to the final Floor of Expert, Floor Fifty! o--------------o | Expert Fifty | o--------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 -This level is wholly contained within the cube that appears before you. Be sure to watch it unfold to learn how it will unfold for you on your run for the GOAL! -It unfolds in the following order: forward, right, forward, right, and forward to make the GOAL reachable. It will then fold up in reverse order. When you begin, go onto the open platform in front of you as it becomes level to you, and head to the top right corner of it. Now you should slow down, and then speed up again on a right diagonal so you cut across the minimal amount of ground possible, and thusly allow yourself a better chance of reaching the GOAL to finish Expert Mode! You will reach the far platform and bust the tape of the GOAL to go on to the next Floor! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This method requires you to run across the platforms on a diagonal to the last moving platform, where you wait for it to reach the far ledge. But here's my strategy. My directions have the foundation in that "north" is the direction of the goal and "south" is the direction of the start. Go north immediately, wait, go north-west and north, wait, go north-east and north, wait, go north-west and north, wait, go directly for the goal. In short words: between the drops of platforms you shall always switch between moving north-west - north and north-east-north until you reach the goal or a clear sight to the goal. Then make ready to board the goal platform which comes from below some secs after this. It comes from the opposite side of which you bored the platform you're on right now. Get on the goal platform when it's slightly below yours. The timer stats goes if you got on any of the first platforms. Off to the next Expert Extra Floor! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~FAST WAY~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Immediately take action. Board the oncoming platform with a banana and fall directly off it to the left or more like the north-west corner of it and aim for the goal platform below. This is risky but the other way is so boring and the camera is really messy. Well, the ways way then. Go left, then up and then roll on the nasty angled catwalk with bananas, to the next catwalk. Go to the far end of this catwalk and line up to the upcoming goals. You don't even have to time well. Just roll off the ramp and you'll break a finish line. They come from the right all the time so it's nearly never empty there. But remember to go all the way down the catwalk so you'll get proper speed. Off to the next Expert Extra Floor! o------------------o | Expert Extra Six | o------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunch : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 This is a little scary, because you don't really see what happens. Go down the big pipe during high speed and boost all the way through it. Try to follow the corners with the control stick, but sometimes it works by just holding up. And when you see the goal, when you come out of the pipe, brake, not before, not after. Because then you'll either boost off the platform or fall before it. Then simply go into the goal. Off to the next Expert Extra Floor! o--------------------o | Expert Extra Seven | o--------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 4 Banana Bunch : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 I believe this is the safest method. Board the moving platform with squares, then roll at a high speed past three bananas and be sure to board the fourth yellow dot. Keep your balance there until you see another platform with squares coming towards you. Board it and it will take you to the goal just in time. Off to the next Expert Extra Floor! o--------------------o | Expert Extra Eight | o--------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 5 Banana Bunches : 1 Number Of Gates: 1 This level is the logo of Amusement Vision (the programming team that works for SEGA). It rocks all around in the air, and it is shiny so it reflects all light that touches it (these make it fairly hard to control yourself on it). Head forward upon starting, drop onto the shiny surface, head between the "a" and the "v" cut out of the floor, and turn right when you get past the end of the "v". Keep turning right till you see the GOAL, and you should head through it to fly up to the next Expert Extra Floor! Keep in mind that a slower pace will make it easier to control your Monkey than speeding through like a maniac. o-------------------o | Expert Extra Nine | o-------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 0 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 ----------------------+ KEY | | GOAL - Level Finish | SP - Starting Point | W - Wall | BN - Banana | BB - Banana Bunch | HP - Hump | UP - Bumper | R - Ramp | | ----------------------+ Woohooo! That's what my stomach said when I first played this floor. This is really easy if you follow my direction exactly. This is how to do it. Go along the platform to the point where the stairs begin. You should go right into the goal. It works for me around 9/10 of the times. Off to the final Expert Extra Floor! o------------------o | Expert Extra Ten | o------------------o Time Limit : 30 seconds Bananas : 0 Banana Bunches : 0 Number Of Gates: 1 This is one funny floor. A big hammer spins around and it hits away block after block and when the TIME BONUS limit has passed it will hit away the whole floor. This is how you should do it. Stay put until you here two "klonks". It's a rather long pause between them. Then quickly go to the left of the pillar, pretty close to it actually. When you've heard one more "klonk" go back to the start point and await two more "klonks". After those, go to the other position, to the left and await the last "klonk". Then break that last little finish line. Let's conclude this. 2 "klonks", move left, 1 "klonk", move back, 2 "klonks", move left, 1 "klonk" and GOAL! You have completely finished Expert Mode, so you must be proud of yourself, huh? Well I say to you that Master beckons with some of the most maniacal Floors the programmers could conceive. Step into the next section to face the ultimate challenge of MASTER!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------Master----------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) This section will look at the reward for the most extreme players of Super Monkey Ball; Master Mode. These are ten floors designed as a treat only for the most hardcore of gamers to unlock. The following is the work of Matthew England (wowbaggers@aol.com), and is in no way the work of Brian P. Sulpher. o------------o | Master One | o------------o First of all, don't move from your landing spot. You will need to wait for the first platform to leave, and arrive again. When it looks like it's just about to connect again, floor it. While you're running, look at the cracks. If they're getting further and further apart and are moving away from you, you need to go a lot faster, or you're a goner. But if the ledges are moving further apart but are still moving towards you, just let up on the gas and let yourself roll until the gap is almost closed again. Then accelerate again, and you will most likely make it to the goal without making any more adjustments. o------------o | Master Two | o------------o You will notice a gate running the length of the top circular platform, and there is a gap immediately to the left of you. Hold forward somewhat gently until it comes around and you go through. Once you get to the first wedge-shaped platform, wait there until the rainbow staircase starts to unfold. Watch the map to be sure when this happens, then walk down it until you reach the next wedge. Don't go too fast or you will bounce out of control. Go too slow and you won't make it in time. When the staircases retract, your wedge will move forward. Stay near the upper part (the direction where the staircase was) of it to avoid falling off. Continue on to another two wedges, until you reach the goal. o--------------o | Master Three | o--------------o When you first land, you will see a triangular ramp leading to an L-shaped platform. This triangle should look familiar, it's similar to the second ramp from level 7. This one however, is higher, longer, and thinner, making it about 5 times harder. Slowly move behind you until you are on the edge of your starting platform, and line yourself up the best you can with the ramp. You have plenty of time, don't go for it until you're ready. Keeping straight, jam forwards and make tiny little adjustments to the left or right if need be until you're up and over. Then brake on the way down to avoid hitting the post in front of you. Continue on this platform until your feet reach the very bottom of the uppermost-right hand square. Your feet must be aligned with the center of the square. It needs to look like the bottom of your ball is balancing on a ledge, if you will. You also need to completely stopped. 0 mph. Also, you need to be facing in the general direction of the temple in the background. Don't take too much time aligning your ball, either, or your monkey's momentum will shift the ball out of position. When all this is done. Hit the gas straight off, and don't let go. You are aiming for the left hand side of the goal (the lower part). If you did everything right, you will smash right through that ribbon. This takes practice, but you'll get the hang of it. Note: You can also take the path of the moving platforms and corkscrew, but I don't recommend it unless you like to test your luck. ;) o-------------o | Master Four | o-------------o Roll down that first ramp, and stay far to the left. When you see the carpet finish rolling towards you, begin slowly moving forward and floor it when it begins to unroll again. When you come to the first platform, hop on and stay far to the left. (Otherwise the carpet's attached bar will send you sailing into oblivion). Wait until you see red on the screen, and floor it again towards the next platform. This time stay far to the right. Repeat this until there are no platforms left, and then run onto the carpet and through the goal. o-------------o | Master Five | o-------------o Slowly start walking to the corner in front of you, and the second the Dole square to your left begins to move, you break a hard left and start running towards the edge (the one that was to your left when you began). If you did this right, you will run in between the blocks and when the square re-forms it will narrowly miss you. Next, position yourself so you are facing the corner of the inside square hole. Run towards it until you are 3 diagonal squares away from the corner. The next dole block should form around you. Run towards the goal. You will probably need to break for a split second to avoid touching the block in front of you before it re-forms. o------------o | Master Six | o------------o Whenever the figure begins to rotate, make sure that you are on top of the red slab, and pressed up against its connecting wall. When it rotates, you should seamlessly transfer from the red slap to the new floor. Repeat this eleven times, then slam through that goal. It's best to go slow on this level to avoid falling through the gaps. Don't go too slow though or you might not make it to the red boxes in time, causing you to bounce out of control. o--------------o | Master Seven | o--------------o Don't move from your landing spot, until the button in front of you is completely depressed. You must move the instant it's pushed down. Now move to the right corner of the square, gently hoist yourself on top of the blue face, and make a hard left (and slightly forward) and brake. Next, wait in the center of the first full square from the front of the green face. Wait for just a moment while it rotates, then ever so slowly hold forwards, and brake the second you are on top of the face. Next, go to the inside corner of the L, slightly on the right hand side of it. When the figure rotates, you can go up and then jam to the left. A blue wall protects you from falling off. Go through the goal. You will need to practice to get a feel for the right speed. o--------------o | Master Eight | o--------------o Hold forwards even before you land, and jump off the right edge of the starting platform and head straight for the right-hand edge of the floor without stopping. A set of green and red pegs will come from the left, interlock to your right, and leave again. You must stay far enough left to avoid the interlocking action. However, going too far to the left spells catastrophe. You're goal is to end up 3 or 4 squares from the edge, so you will have to start braking just after the edge of the last red circle. It's important that you go right a little bit once you get there too, or else a purple peg will knock you off. Now without changing position, face towards the goal which is to your left. Okay, you see those blue and green pegs occasionally interlocking to your left? Well, when they line up perfectly, that's your chance to head straight for the goal. Don't slow down and don't stray too far left or that's the end of you. This level requires practice in order to get a feel how to get the above-mentioned pathway down pat. o-------------o | Master Nine | o-------------o Go reasonably fast for the first 11 platforms, turning/braking at those brownish squares at the end. For the rest of the level, watch your monkey's feet. Try to make them stay in the center as best you can. Slow down as you near each corner, completely stopping when you get there. It's also best to turn towards the next platform, in case you still have some momentum. On the last one, just make sure you're on at least a little bit, and run onto the goal platform. Careful not to fall off. This floor involves more luck than any of the others, but it still doesn't hurt to practice often. o------------o | Master Ten | o------------o Wait until the goal swings most of the way left, and then jump onto Aiai's leg. Keep on running until you get to the pink of his face. Wait in between his eyes until the goal starts to slow down. Then, run into the goal. It is a good idea to edge a bit to the left or right too, depending on where the goal is heading. A Button-----> Fires your Weapon off. o---------o | Weapons | o---------o ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~Speed Star~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gives your Monkey a short speed boost to overtake/pull away from your foes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~Banana Peel~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This will fall behind your Monkey Ball once you use it. It will cause any Monkey to run over it to skid around for a while (it can even get you on a later lap, so be aware of where you drop the peel!). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~Bowling Bomber~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This will send a bomb hurtling toward your opponents. If it hits your opposition, there will be two consequences for your opponent. The first consequence is that they will be thrown far into the air, and the second consequence is that their Monkey will be having convulsions if they land on the track (definitely not guaranteed to land on the track), meaning that their speed and controls will be severely hampered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~Polygon Ball~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This will hit your opponent causing them to have to contend with a differently shaped ball. The Polygon Ball causes the Monkey to be slowed down, and control will be lessened as the sharp angles of the ball. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~Ice Cube~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This Will cause your opponents speed to be severely slowed down as well as the ball being transformed into a frozen ice cube. This will make the turns less responsive as well. o------------o | Play Modes | o------------o One Course Race-> One to Four Players can take part in this (each will need their own controllers). After selecting their Monkeys and the course to race on, the players get the option of changing the settings (number of laps, computer participation, handicap, and items). Grand Prix------> This mode has the same rules and options as above, but this time the game will take the players through all six courses. Through a point system, a winner will be decided after the six races are completed. The point system is as follows for each individual race (meaning you can win overall while never winning one single race): 1st = 10, 2nd = 7, 3rd = 3, 4th = 1. Time Attack-----> This is for One Player only. This mode involves choosing a course, racing the course, and seeing if you broke the fastest time recorded on it. Each race will give you three Speed Stars to use in your race against the clock, so use them wisely. o------------------o | Beginner Courses | o------------------o Name : Jungle Circuit Length : 483 Miles Difficulty: 1/10 Name : Aqua Offroad Length : 528 Miles Difficulty: 3/10 o------------------o | Advanced Courses | o------------------o Name : Frozen Highway Length : 544 Miles Difficulty: 5/10 Name : Sky Downtown Length : 1247 Miles Difficulty: 6.5/10 o----------------o | Expert Courses | o----------------o Name : Pipe Warp Tunnel Length : 622 Miles Difficulty: 8/10 Name : Speed Desert Length : 1461 Miles Difficulty: 7/10 o------------o | Strategies | o------------o -Always hit the speed boosters that are strewn on the track. These will keep you ahead of the other racers, and they will also assist you in catching those ahead of you. -Sometimes if a race is tight, it is best to NOT be in the lead. The reason for this is that your opposition will be following you, collecting items as they go, and they will eventually get a weapon to out the hurt on your Monkey. -Try to place your Banana Peels in locations where the opposition will likely travel. This is best done in a part of the course where the path narrows (like near the finish line for example), or around a corner where they might not see it till they skid over the wall. -When you enter the Pipe Warp Tunnel cylinder, you should slow down your speed upon entering, head for the speed booster, and then rip straight up the middle to escape. If this fails, return to the bottom of the cylinder, and try to go up one side instead of straight up because the straight up method will fail. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Monkey Fight--------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) This section will go over the controls for the game, and some strategies for winning a lot of the time. o----------o | Controls | o----------o ANALOG Stick-> Controls your monkey's direction. A Button-----> Throws a punch. o---------o | Options | o---------o -The Number of Players (one to four). -Select which Monkey you would like to control. -Set number of round victories needed to win the game (between one to five). -Choose the order of three arena loop you will play in until the game ends. -Set the Computer opponents to ON/OFF for the match (if there are only one to three Players). o-----------o | Power-Ups | o-----------o ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~"BIG" Glove~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This item will increase the size of your glove, and this causes your punching/hitting area to increase. You will have an easier time hitting opponents than before. This goes well with the other power-ups. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~"SPINNER"~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This will allow your character to spin their glove in a circle around their ball. To do this, press and hold down 'A' Button to activate it. This item is best used in conjunction with the "BIG" Glove. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~"LONG" Arm~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is by far the best item to get. It not only extends how far your monkey can reach, it also gives more power behind your punches. This item is best used with the "BIG" Glove power-up. -The reason that the SPINNER, and the LONG Arm do not work well together is simply because the SPINNER is dependent upon the glove making contact with the opponent. The more LONG Arm's you have in play, the wider the radius of the SPINNER attack. This means it is pretty easy for an opponent to get themselves inside of your radius to punch you off easily since your defense is down (you are wide open to attack). It will also take longer for your glove to finish one full rotation around the body, leaving you even more open to attack. -Please note that for each LONG Arm and BIG Glove you have collected in the same fight AND you have yet to fall off, the effect of each type of power-up will be further magnified (Glove will get increasingly larger and range of your punching will get increasingly longer). o----------------o | Level Lay-Outs | o----------------o -Mid-Summer Jungle Square is a large, green square that has rails on the left and right sides. It is fairly large, so knocking people off usually requires a few hits (unless they get sloppy and put themselves on the outside of it). A fairly tame battle site to start you off with. -Cold Ice Octagon is an icy field that has a much smaller surface area than the first battle arena. There are eight walls placed in an arranged order that can often help you stay on the platform. There is a platform in the middle as well, which prevents anyone form taking straight charges at an opponent. This field is ice cold, but it ups the heat of battle with the smaller surface, making it much more intense than the previous course. -High Flying UFO Circle level is the smallest of the three, and it has no walls to protect your monkey from a long fall. This is an extremely intense battle site, and should be of extreme high scoring races. This battle site is popular just because of the easiness of knocking someone off. o---------------o | Scoring Rules | o---------------o -Knocking a monkey off the platform is worth 10 points. -Knocking the leader (the player with the most points, which is symbolized by a crown over there player is the leader) is worth 20 points. -Suicide dive offs are worth 5 points for every other player regardless of place of the suicide diver. -That is it, and Power-Ups do not yield any points directly (but they help to garner the points faster, usually). o----------------o | Player Colours | o----------------o -Player 1 is Red. -Player 2 is Blue. -Player 3 is Yellow. -Player 4 is Green. o------------o | Strategies | o------------o -Rapidly punching a person means you get very little power behind your punches. A good idea is to punch them once, and then charge at them. When you get in close, you can lay a strong punch that will send them flying. -Use the SPINNER sparingly since human opponents will avoid you, and then slip inside the arc to punch your undefended self off. -Always watch for the player who is stuck on the outside, so you can pick then off for easy points. -If you are stuck on the outside, and the mob is coming for you, do not fight, but try to quickly run away. This will often cause your opponents to miss you, allowing the necessary time to get back in where it is safer to be. -Do not set your sight on exclusively busting the boxes for the power-ups, since you will often get hit from behind, fall off, and then the worst part of course is the other player getting the power-up! -Going after the leader is a good way to catch up in points, but do not focus exclusively on one opponent. You will usually end up getting knocked off by another player you were ignoring, which will drop you further back in the scoring. -You can also use items as bait to draw your opponents into a trap. By leaving the valued items lying around, many players will ignore other players in their haste for the items, at which point you punch them off the platform. To really demoralize them, you can get the item right before they do, and then knock them off with the very Power-Up they were seeking! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Monkey Target-------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10)This section will list controls, Power-Ups, Wheel of Danger and some strategies for scoring well. o-----------------o | Launch Controls | o-----------------o ANALOG Stick-> Pushing UP will cause your speed to increase, pushing DOWN will decrease your speed. LEFT and RIGHT will move your Monkey in the corresponding directions. C Stick------> No apparent use. START--------> Pauses/unpauses the game. L Button-----> No apparent use. R Button-----> No apparent use. Y Button-----> No apparent use. X Button-----> No apparent use. B Button-----> No apparent use. A Button-----> This will cause your ball to open when you are in the air. It will also stop the Wheel of Danger (if that option is on). o-----------------o | Flight Controls | o-----------------o ANALOG Stick-> UP will cause your Monkey to enter a dive, thusly pick up speed while losing altitude. DOWN will cause your Monkey to gain altitude at the cost of speed. LEFT and RIGHT will cause your Monkey to move in those directions (although wind conditions can affect how these work). When you land on a target, you can fight the momentum of your roll by holding the opposite direction (this is useful for holding into higher value sections of the target). C Stick------> No apparent use. START--------> Pauses/unpauses the game. L Button-----> No apparent use. R Button-----> No apparent use. Y Button-----> No apparent use. X Button-----> No apparent use. B Button-----> No apparent use. A Button-----> When presses, the Monkey Ball will close, and your monkey will plummet to the target or water (whichever happens to be underneath you). o------------o | Help Items | o------------o -These are collected by grabbing Bananas as you go towards the point targets on the water. It does not matter if you get a Banana or Banana Bunch as they both move your meter one step up at a time. -For every single Banana you collect, an additional 10 points will be added to your score. For every Banana Bunch you collect, an additional 20 points will be added to your score. -The items you get are in an ascending order of Banana collection, and after using an item, your Banana collection value will return to none collected. -For one Banana collected, you get the "0 mph" item. This item will remove the wind from that Rounds launch. -For two Bananas collected, you will get the "Brake Ball". This item will cause your Monkey Ball to have very little roll once it lands on a target. -For three Bananas collected, you will get the "Double Score". This item will double the value of any target you end up on. -For four Bananas collected, you will get the "Magnet Ball". This item will cause your Monkey Ball to immediately "stick" to the target where ever it might hit (not true for side of the small yellow buoys though). -For five Bananas collected, you will get the "Triple Score". This item will triple the value of any target you end up on. -If you collect past five, the counter will go back down to the lower value. Say you had three Bananas collected, and on the next launch you declined to use your Double Score. On the current launch you proceed to get four Bananas, you will have seven total. Since the item meter only goes five, it overflows to the bottom, where the additional two Bananas mean you will get the option of a Brake Ball next turn. o-----------------o | Wheel Of Danger | o-----------------o -This little option adds in the additional dangers to the already somewhat tough game. -The Wheel of Danger has ten slots on it, and a spinner will spin around till the A Button is pressed to stop it. Where ever the wheel stops moving is what effect the wheel will have on your current Round's launch. -Four of the spots are blank, and if these are activated, nothing will happen what so ever. -Two spots will have Spiked Mines, and if these are activated, floating Spiked Mines will appear over the target areas. If these are touched by your Monkey, you will lose some speed, altitude, and direction. This does not prevent your Monkey from still landing on a target however. -Two spots will have Big Bombs, and if these are activated, a multitude of Bombs will be sprinkled on the target areas. If these are touched by your Monkey, the ball will be thrown into the air. This does not prevent your Monkey from landing on the target, but it will cause your monkey to twitch in pain as well as deposit you in an area different from the one you intended. -Two spots will have Smoke Screens, and if these are activated, Cloud banks will appear over each target area. These will not impede you in any way physically, but they will impede your vision till your Monkey draws very near to the target platform. o-------------------o | Round One Targets | o-------------------o -The first target you will arrive at is a large circular object that has a 10 point ring around the perimeter of it. This then has a large 20 point ring closer in with four small 10 point depressions in it (these will hold your ball inside of them). Then it is a smaller 40 point ring with one 20 point depression and two 10 point depressions. Then a really small 50 point ring with three small 20 point depressions. In the exact centre is an extremely small spot worth a very decent 100 points! -The second target you will arrive at is a shrunk down version of the first target in this round, minus the 20 point ring. -The third target you will arrive at is an even smaller target than the last one, but this one has some different point values. The main target has an outside ring of 50 points, then a ring of 40 points, then a ring of 20 points, and then a hole into the water. There are two targets about one quarter the size of the one just listed circling the larger target (they always stay on opposite sides of the target from one another). The outside ring of the smaller targets is worth 100 points, and the bulls-eye is worth a very respectable 200 points! -There are two 500 point Yellow Buoys to be found in this round, and they are found to be about the same distance from the Launch Ramp as the second target. One is found to the left of the second target, one is found to the right of the second target. Turn left or right at about the first target, and then follow the Banana Bunch rings till you see the yellow Buoy below. o-------------------o | Round Two Targets | o-------------------o -The left target is a pyramid-shaped target that has ledges going up the sides. The lowest ledge is worth 20 points. The second ledge is worth 40 points. The third ledge is worth 100 points. The fourth ledge is worth 200 points. The highest ledge and the bulls-eye of the target is worth an incredible 300 points. Keep in mind that as the scoring ledges climb up the pyramid, the width of their area decreases. -The centre target is a square-shaped target that has a small pyramid section in the middle of it. The perimeter is worth 10 points. The next section going in is worth 20 points. The section following is 40 points (just small four triangles against the base of the pyramid). There is a 100 point ledge two-thirds of the way up the pyramid. The very top of the pyramid and the bulls-eye is worth 200 points! To score well here, come in on an angle so you can roll up one side of the pyramid to come to a rest on the 100 or 200 point sections! -The right target is a large pyramid that has small ledges strewn across it at regular intervals. There are eight small ledges worth 40 points as the lowest ledges (two per side of the pyramid). Two 100 point ledges are found on the North and South sides of the pyramid (assuming that your Monkey starts facing North on the Launch Ramp). Two 200 point ledges are found on the East and West sides of the pyramid! The very pinnacle of the pyramid and the bulls-eye is worth a whopping 300 points! Keep in mind that the ledges shrink in size as the point total grows in value. Try to approach the target so you will be coming in over the lower ledges as you approach the higher ones. this will allow you a safety net in case your aim is off for the higher ledges (the lower ledges might catch you for some points for you). -There is one 500 point Yellow Buoy to be found in this round, and it is found past the centre target out in the open water. Simply head straight over the centre target to find the Buoy. o---------------------o | Round Three Targets | o---------------------o -The left target is a Hexagon that divides into three separate pieces. These three separate pieces will move apart for a bit, and then they will rejoin. The perimeter is worth 10 points. The next section is worth 20 points. The next section is worth 40 points. the next section is worth 20 points. The next section is worth 50 points. The bulls-eye is worth 100 points. Keep in mind that you may arrive with the platforms split apart. You should make an effort to try and watch the progress of the platforms motions from far away so you can time your arrival to match the platforms moving back towards one another. -The centre target is another Hexagon, but this one divides into six equal pieces. The large outside bar is worth 100 points. The much smaller bar farther in is worth 200 points! The bulls-eye is extremely small, but it is worth an incredible 300 points! Keep in mind that you may arrive with the platforms split apart. You should make an effort to try and watch the progress of the platforms motions from far away so you can time your arrival to match the platforms moving back towards one another. -The right target is yet another Hexagon, but this one splits into six equal sections plus a small bulls-eye. The perimeter values alternate between 20 point values and 40 point values. The smaller bars inside of them alternate between 50 point values and 100 point values. The bulls-eye is worth 200 points! Keep in mind that you may arrive with the platforms split apart. You should make an effort to try and watch the progress of the platforms motions from far away so you can time your arrival to match the platforms moving back towards one another. -There is one 500 point Yellow Buoy to be found in this round, and it is found short of the centre target. It is directly ahead of the Launch Ramp, and it requires the player to be ready to go after it immediately. o------------o | Strategies | o------------o -For getting out to the farther targets, you should hold off on opening your ball once you have launched from the ramp. Consequently, to go for a closer target, do not push forward as you roll down the ramp, and then open as soon you hit the air for a slower speed. -Try to get your Banana collection up to the second or fourth spot (Brake Ball and Magnet Ball). This will allow you to go after the small but valuable 500 point Yellow Buoys. These items help your Monkey to stay on the tiny surface. -If you face a headwind, you will be carried higher into the air if you push DOWN. This means that it will take longer to get closer to the water and targets, which make for a more accurate landing. -If you have a tailwind, you will fall much faster. This means that pushing DOWN will make your Monkey quickly lose speed as it gains less height than it normally would. -Start your Target games by getting good at hitting the 100 point or 200 point bulls-eyes as they tend to be fairly large. Work your way up to the 300 point bulls-eyes before you start to work on getting the 500 point Yellow Buoys with the assistance of items. Then you should work towards getting the Yellow Buoys with the Double Score or Triple Score items activated. -When going down the Launch Ramp, go down the left or the right side to get a Banana every time for a free 10 points, plus one Banana towards your item activation. -Right from the start are three rings of Banana Bunches that are placed so you can get all three. If this is combined with the point above this, you can have a Magnet Ball all ready to go for the next round of Monkey Target. -When you reach the last Round of your current game, be sure to use your item because it will not matter when the game is over. This is one hell of a distraction from Normal Mode, and it has a cult-like following to challenge. Another way to foul is to not hit the low ball first. -Putting the cue ball in a hole is a foul, and the next shot automatically is your opponents. -The game is usually a best of 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9. o---------o | Options | o---------o -Choose Mini-Games, which bring up a choice of Monkey Bowling, Monkey Golf and our option of Monkey Billiards. -This brings up the choice of VS. Mode (single match, up to two players), and Tournament Mode. -VS. Mode brings up a choice of one/two player. -If it is one player, you choose your monkey, and then you choose your COM opponent. This will then bring up option of changing game settings, and game start. You have the option of setting number of sets (1-99), and COM level (1-5). If two player, both players choose your monkeys, and then this will bring up the change settings/game start choice. The game settings allows the players to set the number of sets (1-99). -Tournament Mode brings up the players choice of which monkey they want to play as. This brings up the change setting/game start menu, and the setting can toggle the number of sets (1-99), and the COM level (1-5). o---------------------------o | Computer Monkey Abilities | o---------------------------o -Remember that this is valid only in One Player Mode. -AiAi is good at pocketing balls (accurate shooter, well rounded player). -MeeMee is good at using walls (excels at bank shots, will use when it can). -Baby is good at hitting the 9 ball. (always tries to hit 9 ball in). -GonGon is good at making power shots (will always use full power to shoot). o------------o | Strategies | o------------o -Try to hit the low ball into the nine ball in an attempt to win the game quickly if the opportunity presents itself. This can turn a game around very quickly, and it also makes your opponent a little upset (may make mistakes). -Sometimes you may have no viable shot at the low ball, so a good idea is to just blast the ball as hard as you can. This can often lead to the ball flying around, and go in, or knock another ball in. This will prolong your turn. -If you think you have no real chance of making a shot, just hit the ball so it makes contact with the low ball, and use spin to put the ball far from the low ball. A Button-----> This will confirm each selection made during the throwing process. o---------o | Scoring | o---------o -Every pin is worth 1 point. -You get to throw up to two balls per frame, with the exception of the 10th frame, where you might get to throw three. -If all 10 pins are knocked down in one throw on a frame, that is called a strike. -If all 10 pins are knocked down in two throws on a frame, that is called a spare. -When you get a strike in a frame, you will get 10 points for the pins you knocked down, plus whatever points you get on your next two throws. ~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~EXAMPLE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ 10 points + 6 points + 3 points = 19 points for that one frame. -When you get a spare in a frame, you will get 10 points for the pins you knocked down, plus whatever points you get on the next throw. -To get the perfect score of 300, you will need to throw 12 strikes. o----------------o | Challenge Mode | o----------------o This mode is for One Player only, and it pits your skills against 10 pre-arranged situations. The catch is that you only get 11 total attempts. Aim your shot to hit the three dead on to knock them all down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN THREE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Baby Split, this formation has the 2 and 7 pins still standing. Aim your shot so it will hit the 2 pin so it will fly back and hit the 7 pin. You can also aim your shot it will hit both of the pins on the roll, but you will need to throw from the right side of the lane to do so. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN FOUR~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a One In The Dark, this formation has the 2 and 8 pin still standing. Aim your shot it will hit the 2 pin dead on, and it will go back to hit the 8 pin (if it misses, the ball will not if done correctly). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN FIVE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Fit Split, this formation has the 9 and 10 pin still standing. Aim your shot so it will go between the two pins exactly in the middle to get them both. You can also cut the 9 pin sharply to make it get the 10 pin, but this is a harder method of doing so. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN SIX~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Wash Out, this formation has the 1, 2, 4, and 10 pins still standing. Aim your shot so it will be to the left of the head pin, and it will send the head pin flying across to pick the 10 pin off in the corner (the ball will take care of the other pins). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN SEVEN~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Christmas Tree, this formation has the 3, 7, and 10 pins still standing. Move your ball to the right side of the lane, and then aim your shot straight down the lane so it will cut the 3 pin on the right side. This will cause the 3 pin to take out the 7 pin (hopefully), and your ball will hit the 10 pin. A fairly hard shot to make. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN EIGHT~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Dime Store, this formation has the 5 and 10 pin still standing. Aim to the left of the 5 pin. and cut it so it will fly and take out the 10 pin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN NINE~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Little Three, this formation has the 4, 7, and 9 pins still standing. Move your ball to the left side of the lane, aim it so it will cut the 4 pin on the left side to send the pin flying into 9 pin while your ball continues on to hit the 7 pin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~PATTERN TEN~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Called a Big Three, this formation has the 4, 7, and 10 pins still standing. Move your ball to the extreme far left of the lane, throw the ball straight down the edge of the lane so you cut the 4 pin a little more thin than you did on the last one to send it across the lane to get the 10 pin (the ball will get the 7 pin). o------------o | Strategies | o------------o -Try to throw with full power to get more oooompf into the pins. This will cause the pins to fly farther, faster, and with more spin than a less powered shot (it means there is a better shot at getting the strike). -DO NOT leave an open frame (where you leave pins up after two balls). not only will you miss out on additional points thanks to a strike or spare, but it makes catching up to your opposition extremely difficult. -Work on your spin technique shots until you can use them well. You will then be able to make any shot thanks to your masterful control of the ball. -DO NOT throw directly at the head pin. Just adjust your aim to the left a little bit from the default, and hit with just under 3/4 power on 80 yard hitting strength. If you miss, just make the easy second shot. -Hole 2 has an elevated hole, and although the distance says it is 43 yards to the hole, you must hit at about halfway between the 2nd and 3rd hack on the 80 yard hitting strength. If you have over/under shot, and have rolled to a stop farther away than you began, you must hit a little bit harder than was required for the tee shot. This hole can be hard on your score. -Hole 3 looks like a real golf hole. You need to hit the 80 yard hitting strength at about 3/4 to get to a close position (just aim to right of the wall). Then you just need to hit the closer shot in for two provided you have a good look. Otherwise, you will likely get a par. You should only score higher than par if you go O.B. -Hole 4 has an elevated green area with the pin. You just need to hit the distance listed to get on. Then it is a simple matter of picking the correct distance on the next shot for the easy birdie. You should do no worse than par here. -Hole 5 is a challenging hole because you must pick the correct angle so you can: get down towards the hole, and not fly off to the O.B. Aim near the start of the slope at the wall, and hit at 3/4 on 40 yard hitting strength. This will put you at last slope before the green. You must carefully putt down the slope (very lightly) because there is no wall (O.B.), and make sure you compensate for the slope if your putt is crooked on the slope. This is a harder hole where birdies are rare, and even pars will often elude you. If you are accurate, then you will thrive on this hole. -Hole 6 is a banana shaped hole. If you can hit your ball with the proper strength, you can ride the top of the hill all the way to the hole. If you just want to assure a score of 2 or 3, then just aim up the right wall with full strength. You will still end up close, with a fairly easy second putt. -Aim between the two closest hills on Hole 7, and hit it between the 3rd hack and the end of the meter. This will cause your ball to roll close to the hole (even might go in if you are lucky). Then hit easy second shot in. -Hole 8 is shaped like a rainbow, and it slopes left to right. It is very easy to go O.B., so to tee off, use default aim, and hit at half distance on the 80 yard strength to get yourself past halfway point. This will allow an easier second shot. You must make adjustments for any slope in your line. Not an easy hole, with few pars, and fewer birdies. -Hole 9 is a flat area with holes strewn throughout it periodically. Aim using the C Stick to plot a course of safety, and hit at about 3/4 on 40 yard hitting strength. This will leave a fairly easy second putt. Once practiced, this is a birdie hole 9 times out of 10. -Hole 10 is a big circle with a hole into he middle. Aim to the left or right of the hole in the middle of the surface, and hit at a point between the 2nd and 3rd hack mark. Then it is a simple putt for two. -Hole 11 is flat with little walls strewn throughout (some are blocking the direct path to the hole). Aim at the first wall on the left that is vertical when compared to your view. If done just right, it is a hole in one when hit at the 3rd hack of 40 yard hitting strength. If it does miss, then you should have an easy tap in for two. Even if you mess up badly, a par is still easy to come by. -Hole 12 is the hardest hole in the game. The hole and tee are on the same level of ground, but there is a large hill that must be navigated to get from tee to green. This is exceptionally hard, because you need to hit the hole to stay on the other side. Aim somewhere between the second bush at the top (from the left) and the tree to have a chance of this actually working. You will take a lot of 10 scores on this hole, even with lots of practice. -Hole 13 has an elevated tee off position, but it matters not because of the large gully in the way. You must use the wall to ride around to the green. Aim towards the side, and hit between the 2nd and 3rd hack mark on the 80 yard hitting strength. If you hit a good tee shot, birdies are common, but if you flounder on the tee, this hole can be bad for your score. -Hole 14 starts on a platform with a bowling bowl like design that drops to a round platform. The two hole closest to the tee drop off to O.B., so you have two options. One is to play it safe, and just hit it between the holes to land safe below, or use the middle hole to go for the hole in one. The problem with going for the hole in one is if you hit too hard, you will end up falling off because of the lip of the platform being in the way. Aim at the hole, and use just under halfway power of 80 yard strength, or (the better, more accurate method), of switching to the 40 yard strength and hitting at the 3rd hack mark. This will get a hole in one, or close enough for a tap in for two. A few rounds of experience here, and a hole in one will be common. -Hole 15 is two half pipe ramps that you must use to shoot over the gaps between them. Aim up the ramp towards the very edge, and hit at about halfway between the 2nd and 3rd hack marks on 80 yard hitting strength. This should land you, and keep you on the other ramp. You then have a straight on putt for the birdie. Once again, your score is dependent upon a good tee shot. -Hole 16 is a tough hole. The green is elevated, and the only way to reach it is to hit up the wall, and slant your way onto it. Aim to the right or left, and use about 3/4 (or a little more) to get up the hill, and then roll onto the green. Then it is a simple matter of tapping in for two. If you miss your tee shot, you will probably need to hit the ball farther back form the wall to get the proper angle to make the hill. This can be a very frustrating hole. -Hole 17 Has three separate parts of the hole: The tee, a pyramid, and a green. You need to hit onto the pyramid to roll to the green. Aim for the top area (a little to the right), and hit at 3/4 power of the 80 yard hitting strength. This should put you on the green (although you will barely hold onto the small hill at the back). Then just tap in for two. This is a hard hole no matter how much practice you have put into it. -Hole 18 is yet another tough hole to contend with. It has an elevated green, and it has an O.B. pit underneath it. Aim directly at the middle of the green, and hit at just under 3/4 power on 80 yard hitting strength to make the green. If you mess this up, then you will need to figure out the power require to get up there because your distance will be different than the tee shot. The tee shot makes or breaks you as it has for most of the holes. As you can tell, the front nine is much friendlier than the back nine.
