Before life began, before the world had form, three golden goddesses descended upon the chaotic land of Hyrule. They were Din, the Goddess of Power, Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom and Farore, the Goddess of Courage. Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land to create the earth. Nayru poured her wisdom onto the earth to give the spirit of law to the world. Farore's rich soul created all life forms who would uphold the law. These three great goddesses returned to the heavens, leaving behind the golden sacred Triforce. Since then, the Triforce has become the basis for Hyrule's providence. Where the Triforce stood became sacred land. In the vast, deep forest of Hyrule, the Great Deku Tree served as the guardian spirit. The children of the forest, the Kokiri, lived with the Great Deku Tree. Each Kokiri had his or her own guardian fairy, except one. His name was Link. Early one morning, Link was having a nightmare. It was the same nightmare he had every night. During a storm, Link would find himself standing in front of a mysterious castle. A rider on horseback, carrying a girl, would race by. The girl would look at Link as if to say something. Then, another rider would appear. This big man clad in black would look down menacingly at Link. Link would then awaken. "Link! Hey, get up, Link! The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you!" As Link opened his eyes, he saw a fairy floating in front of him. This fairy's name was Navi. Navi was sent to summon Link to the Great Deku Tree. "Oh Navi, thou hast returned!" said the Deku Tree. "Thank you, Link, for coming. Thy slumber these past moons must have been restless, and full of nightmares. A vile climate pervades this world. Verily, ye have felt it. The time has come to test thine courage. I have been cursed. I need you to dispel the curse with your wisdom and courage. Art thou prepared?" Link entered the Great Deku Tree and broke the curse. "Well done, Link! I knew that ye were worthy of carrying out my wishes. A wicked man of the desert cast this dreadful curse on me. Employing his vile, sorcerous energies, the evil one is searching for the sacred realm connected to Hyrule. For it is there that one will find the divine relic, the Triforce, that contains the essence of the gods. Whoever holds the Triforce can make their wishes come true. Thou must never allow the desert man to lay his hands on the sacred Triforce. Thou must never suffer that man to enter the sacred realm of legend. Link, go now to Hyrule Castle. There, ye will surely meet the Princess of destiny. Present this stone to the Princess. I have foreseen that she will understand everything." The Great Deku Tree gave Link the spiritual stone of the forest. Before dying, the Deku Tree's last words were, "The future depends upon thee, Link. Thou art courageous." _______________________________________ _______ ____/ 2 \_______________________________________________________________ Controls \ _____________________________________________________________________________\ -CONTROL STICK -Walk If you want to walk, or if you are in a dangerous position like if you are on a skinny ledge on the side of the mountain or wall, do not press the control stick far or you'll run and fall off the ledge. Press the control stick lightly to make him tip-toe or walk. -Run Like walking but you gain a lot more speed to your legs and feet. Press or tilt the control stick far enough to make Link run. To gain an extra speed to it, press A to roll. -Jump There is no button on the GameCube controller that makes Link jump because he jump automatically. The only time he will jump is when you make him run toward a gap or run off of a platform. -Swim Link does not need an equipment that is required to swim in the water like in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES. When you jump in a deep water, tilt the control stick in any direction to make Link swim. -Dive While swimming in a deep water, Link can dive by pressing B. However, he only have 3 seconds to go underwater, but there is a way to increase the number. While underwater, Link can pick up an item, or a health recovering heart. -A BUTTON -Climb If there is a ladder nearby, go up and stand in front of it and the green action icon at the top will say "Climb". Press the A Button and Link will get himself on the ladder. Tilt the control stick up to make up climb up the ladder, to go back down the ladder, tilt the control stick in the opposite direction. Link can climb on a large movable block, simply tilt the control stick up and Link will walk/run into the block and when the action icon say "Climb", press A to climb up and onto the block. -Grab Link can grab an object and he can push, pull, and throw whatever he has in his hand. Try practicing this with a large movable block by pressing A to grab ahold of the block and then tilt the control stick forward or backward to push or pull the block. Link can grab and throw an item like a pot, or a bomb, or living nature, to do this, go up to a smaller item and press A to grab it and Link will hold it above his head. If Link stands still, the icon will say "Drop" but if Link is running around while holding the item above his head, he can throw it if you press A. -Speak Link can talk to people by pressing A if the action icon says "Speak". Sometimes there are people who aren't nearby, but if Navi hovers over to that person, press the L shoulder button and then press A to talk to people who are far away. -Check Are you lost? you can check post, sign, letter, etc. by pressing A when the word "Check" appears on your action icon at the top of the screen. -Open Another reason why the A Button is useful. Why would you leave behind an unopened chest? There could be something good hidden in those chests, it can be good or bad or useless. -B BUTTON -This is your sword button. Press it once to unleash a fury swipe! To swing your sword horizontally, hold down the L shoulder button and then press B. If you want to be cocky and stab an enemy without any fury, tilt the control stick forward and then press B. To unleash a wild sword spin, hold down the B button and Link will do a 360 degrees sword spin. This is very effective when there are 3 or more enemies within the range of your sword. Link can also do a jumping sword attack. To perform this move, hold down the L shoulder button and press the A button. This attack is the strongest out of them all. -R BUTTON -This button is for your shield, simply press down the R shoulder button to raise your shield. The shield is also good at reflecting whatever hit it. -C STICK -There are three yellow icons at the top of the screen, those are the three item slots. You have to tilt the C-Stick toward the direction to use the item you wanted. -The X, Y, and Z Button work the same way as the C-Stick. The X Button is the same as tilting the C-Stick to the right, the Y Button is the same as tilting the C-Stick to the left and finally the Z Button is the same as tilting the C-Stick downward. Make sure the item you selected is in one of the C-Stick icons so that you can use it. _______ ____/ 3 \_______________________________________________________________ Walkthrough \ _____________________________________________________________________________\ IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS WALKTHROUGH IS FOR THE MASTER QUEST ONLY, I WILL PROBABLY DO ONE FOR OCARINA OF TIME AFTER I'M DONE WITH MASTER QUEST. Here it is, the main and the most important part of the FAQ, the walkthrough. This walkthrough you are about to follow will have just _about_ enough details to get you through the game. I apologize if I can't explain one part of the dungeon or whatever is it you are confused on any better. _______ ____/ 3.1 \_________________________________________________________________ | -Kokiri Forest / Great Deku Tree Items: Deku Shield, Deku Stick, Kokiri Sword Enemies: Deku Baba Once you start the Master Quest version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the game starts off with a little conversation with the Great Deku Tree and Navi the fairy. The Great Deku Tree command Navi to go get the boy without a fairy and bring that Kokiri to him. After when Navi find you and woke you up, Navi tells you that the Great Deku Tree wants to see you. In Link's house, there is not much you can do, go outside instead and you will meet Saria, a Kokiri. She is surprised that you finally got a fairy and that the Great Deku Tree summoned you. Its time to go meet your summoner! From your house, go up the hill and make a right while following the dirt path until you read a sign that reads "Just ahead: Great Deku Tree's Meadow". Keep running up ahead until you meet Mido, a grouchy Kokiri. You got him all jealous now, but he won't let you pass because you are not fully equipped! You don't have either one with you. Go in the shop to see what they have for stock. One of the items you are looking for is on the right hand side, but it cost 40 Rupees. You don't have that much. Go back out in the forest and search around the village, there are plenty of money laying around. 5 - you can get a blue rupee if you jump across the stones to the right of the shop. 2 - 2 green rupees can be found in the bush on the left side after you jump across the stones. 5 - You can get 5 green rupees if you throw and break the stones where one of the Kokiri is trying to lift a rock. 5 - Behind Mido's house is a blue rupee, snatch it! 11- 2 blue rupees and 1 green rupees are hidden in the chests in Mido's house. 2 - You can find 2 more green rupees in the bush across from Mido's house. 3 - There is a lone rock sitting on the ground near Link's house, pick it up and break it open to collect them. 6 - Break open the two pots in the House of Twins to get a blue and a green rupees. 1 - Behind Saria's house is another rock, throw it and break it to get a green rupee! There is another blue rupee sitting on a column where the blonde Kokiri girl is standing on. To get up there just follow the ramp up behind Saria's house and walk across the two bridges. You can go up to a total of 99 rupees. The green rupees in the bushes and rocks will regenerate. The pots in the House of Twins will regenerate too Now that you got a total of 40 rupees, you can buy the Deku Shield in the Kokiri Shop! To equip the shield, press START on your GameCube controller and go to the Equipment Subscreen and select the shield. Press A to equip it. You need one more item to find and that is the sword. The sword isn't worth opening a chest in the middle of the village right away so that you can get it quick and easy. An item like this requires some hunting and a little bit of skills. Go to the Forest Training Center, which is located on the top of the ramp across from Mido's house. Go around the fences and you will be in the actual training center. Speak with the long-haired Kokiri to learn how to use your sword in a fight. Turn around and you will see a hole in the wall, stand in front of it and press A to enter the hole and then tilt the control stick forward to crawl through the hole to get out the other side. Read the sign to learn some advanced skills. Take a left when you exit out of the hole, but wait! A boulder will come rolling around the corner. When it rolls by you, follow it until you see another path you can walk off on. There is a large chest sitting on a tree stump, open it to get the Kokiri Sword! To equip it, do the same way like how you equipped your Deku Shield. Go back to where you first met Mido and speak to him again. He will find out that you got the sword and a shield equipped. He gets a little jealous, but he will let you pass anyway. Walk down the passageway and you will walk into your first three enemies, the Deku Babas. A single swipe from your sword will kill each one, they will leave a Deku Stick behind. Move on and meet your summoner, the Great Deku Tree. The Great Deku Tree tells you that evil is starting to take over the land and he thinks you have the wisdom and the courage to stop it and put you to a test. Proceed and enter the Great Deku Tree. _____ _________________________________________________ /____/ Inside the Deku Tree \________________________________________________\ Items: Compass, Deku Nuts, Deku Seeds, Deku Stick, Map, Fairy Slingshot Enemies: Big Deku Baba, Deku Baba, Deku Scrub, Gohma Egg, Gohma Larva, Keese, Mad Scrub, Skulltula, Skullwalltula Bosses: Queen Gohma You are standing inside your first dungeon. The dungeon isn't that big or long to get out of here, and most of the foes you will confront are plants and spiders. On the first floor of the dungeon, you can kill the two Deku Babas for some more sticks. There is not much you can do on the ground floor, but the large cobweb in the middle of the floor can be removed, but we're not getting to that part yet. Climb up the ladder and go up around the ramp, jumping over each gap you come across. Watch out for the Gohma Egg because if you get close to it, a Gohma Larva will hatch and another one will jump down from above. Two swipes from your sword will kill one. There is a chest next to the egg, open it to get the Map for this dungeon. Break open the crate next to the chest and you will find your first Gold Skulltula. Kill it to get your first Gold Skulltula token. Look on the wall, there are vines on the wall and you can climb on it. Cling yourself onto the climbable wall and climb up to the 3rd floor of the dungeon. Walk around and look for a floor switch and step on it to lite up the torches in this area. The fire from the torch will get rid of the cobweb that was blocking the door nearby, go through that door. After you enter the room, the door will be barred and you can't leave. You will have to find a way how to unbar the door. Look around and you will see some Gohma Eggs. There is a floor switch nearby, step on it and 3 platforms will rise from the ground, use them to get to the two other ledges in the room. An unlit torch sits in the middle of the room, if you lit your Deku Stick on fire with the lit torch on the ledge, you can carry the Deku Stick that is flaming and use it on the unlit torch to light it up! There are about 6 Gohma Eggs or Gohma Larvas in this room and if you kill them all, the door will unbar and a chest will appear. Step on the switch again and use the platforms to get to the big chest on the ledge on the left side of the room. Open it to get a Fairy Slingshot! After you place it in one of the C-Stick slots, leave the room. Back out on 3rd floor, use the vine to climb back down to 2nd floor and you will see another door that is blocking by a cobweb. There is a lit torch nearby, set a Deku Stick on fire and run from there to the door and use the fire to burn down the cobweb, go through the door. WOW! A giant Deku Baba! but it's strength is the same as the miniature Deku Baba. Take a swing and it will stand upright and then take another swing to kill it, it will leave behind a Deku Stick like the Deku Babas. Kill the Gohma Eggs/Larvas if you want. Take out the Fairy Slingshot you found earlier and equip it to one of the C-Stick slots. The other door in this room has an eye above it, test your slingshot here and aim at the eye and then shoot it to hit the eye. That unbars the new door, go through it! In here, use the platform to jump over on the ledge across from you. Open the chest to get a Compass! Turn around and the platform you used is gone! The distance from the ledge you are on to get back on the ledge you wre on is too great. Look around the room and at one point, Navi will fly off and point at the ladder, this might give you a hint. Take out your slingshot and shoot a seed at the ladder to make it drop. Now you are able to leave this room. Head back to the main room of this dungeon. *Note - Before you shoot the ladder, look to the right and look up at the top of the vine, see those boulders? It looks like there could be something hidden behind these boulders. There is no other door to go through. If you take a look at the map and scroll through all floors, you'll see that you haven't reach Basement 1 and Basement 2. How do we get there? Could that big cobweb in the middle of the main room be destroyed? YES! There are two ways to destroy it. There is a torch on the 1st floor where the large cobweb is, take out a Deku Stick and set it on fire and then run towards the cobweb, perform a roll and the cobweb will get contacted by the fire on the stick and burn. The alternate way, or a suicidal way you might say, is if you go all the way up to the 3rd floor of this main room and jump off one of the ledges up there and land right in the middle of the cobweb to break through it. You are in Basement Floor 1. You will see a barred door, a switch blocked by a cobweb and another switch on the right side of the room. You will also see a chest icon on the map, but you can't see it. Step on the switch that isn't blocked by a cobweb and it will activate the torch. Head over to that torch and then take out a Deku Stick, light the stick on fire and use the fire on the cobweb nearby so that you can step on the floor switch. This reveals the hidden chest, open it to get a blue rupee! The door is still barred. Look above it and you will see an eye, take out your Fairy Slingshot and shoot a seed at the eye to unbar the door and then go through it. In here, you will confront a Mad Scrub. It will spit nuts at you. If you go too close to it, it will hide in the grass and you won't be able to kill it. Back up away and when you see it reveal itself again, take out your shield and hold down the R shoulder button to crouch and raise your shield up. When the Mad Scrub spit out a nut at you, the nut will hit the shield and reflect it back to him. If you got a good reflection shot and if it hit the Mad Scrub, it will leave its spot and run around the room. Go after it and one swing from your Kokiri Sword will kill it. There are two Gohma Eggs in the room as well. The door in here is barred and there are two unlit torches in front of it. You have to go back to the previous room and light a stick on fire, then carry the lit stick over into this room and light the two torches up, this will unbar the door. Proceed into the next room. Open the chest to the left to get a Heart Recovery. This room here took me a while to figure out. Step on the blue switch first to light the torch up, but once you get off that switch, the torch will unlight, but there is a little time that you can get a stick on fire if you are fast enough. If you do get the stick on fire, wait for the platform to come close to you, jump on it and when you are near the spiked log, ROLL under it and then jump onto the ledge. Light up the two torches here to unbar the next door. Go up next to the block to get behind the Skulltula and shoot 2 seeds at it's underside to kill it. Climb up on the blue block and onto the ledge and then go through the new door. You will be in for a little advanced battle. You get to fight about 10 Gohma Larvas, a Mad Scrub and a Keese. Kill off the Gohma Larvas first with your Kokiri Sword and then the Bat with your slingshot. This leave the Mad Scrub last. Use your Deku Shield to reflect the nut back to him to inflict a little damage to him and make him leave his spot. Kill him while he is running around. The new door will unbar if you kill ALL of the enemies in here. If you survive, go through the new door. This room wasn't like the one in the Nintendo 64 version of the Ocarina of Time. There are sloped blocks scattered out in the room, 4 torches and a switch in the middle of the room. There are 4 bats, 1 sitting on each one of the torches, kill them all before you do anything. You might want to kill the two Deku Babas in the room as well. Step on the switch and the four torches will ignite. Take out a Deku Stick and light the stick on fire and carry it over to either cobweb and burn them both down. You can go through the northwest door if you want. However, it holds nothing good for you in there except for the Gold Skulltula, but you can't reach the token if you kill it. Go toward and crawl through the hole on the right side of the room. At the other side of the hole, you are back in the room where you fell in from the 1st floor. You will see a cobweb in the middle of the floor, similiar to the one back on 1st floor. There is a block here, push it off the path and into the water. Now you don't have to go all the way around the room to get on this ledge. There is no lit torch on this side of the ledge, but one of the ledges on the other side does. Head over to that ledge with the lit torch and then light a stick on fire. Now you got to be quick and carry that stick by running over the shallow water, then climb up on the block then jump onto the ledge and finally roll on top of the cobweb so that the fire will touch the cobweb and burn it down. There is nothing else to do in Basement Floor 1, so jump down in the hole to Basement Floor 2. Here in Basement Floor 2, you will see 3 Deku Scrubs. In the Nintendo 64 version of the Ocarina of Time, there was a certain order to hit them to open the new door. One of the Deku Scrubs in the dungeon give out the order once you hit him, but that Deku Scrub isn't in this version. I do not know if you have to shoot all 3 in a order or what. The order was right, left, then middle. You might want to do the same for this one. Reflect the nut they spit back at them in order from right, then left, then finally the middle Deku Scrub. You have to chase after the middle Deku Scrub and he will unbar the door for you. Prepare yourself before you go through the new door. _____ /____/ Parasitic Armored Arachnid: Gohma Go through the small hallway into the actual boss room. The door behind you will shut. You don't see anything, take a look around in first-person mode and look up in the dark ceiling for a yellow eye. The scene will show the eye of a large arachnid, it drops down to the ground and roar at you. The boss battle begins! Take out your Fairy Slingshot and press down on the L shoulder button to target Queen Gohma. Only take a shot when her eye is open so that you can stun her. When she is stunned, take out your Kokiri Sword and take a several slash at her until she gets up again. When she grab herself up, she will walk over to the wall and climb up and across the ceiling. While she is up there, she drops three eggs to the ground. You know what is in those eggs, destroy the eggs before they hatch. When you destroy all three, Queen Gohma will drop down to the ground again. Repeat the same process you did for this part until she die. Pick up the Heart Container she left behind and then step into the teleporter. _____ ________________________________________________________ /____/ Kokiri Forest \_______________________________________________________\ Items: Fairy Ocarina You will be teleported back outside in Kokiri Forest in front of the Great Deku Tree. He will tell you about the man from the desert and the three fairy goddesses. After that, he will give you your first spiritual stone, the Kokiri Emerald! Sadly...it is time for the Great Deku Tree to go... Leave the forest and a cut-scene will take place on the bridge between you and Saria. Saria gives you her Fairy Ocarina and she say that you are different to her and the Kokiris. Say farewell to her, but this won't be the last time you see her though. _____ _________________________________________________________ /____/ Hyrule Field \________________________________________________________\ Enemies: Peahat (Day), Stalchild (Night) You are walking on Hyrule Field, the largest part of the land. The Great Deku Tree told you to go see the princess. She lives in Hyrule Castle and that is at the northern part of the Hyrule Field. Run from the tunnel that leads back to the forest out into Hyrule Field, but an owl named Kaepora Gaebora will interrupt you for a while. He is only there to show you how to use the map. He will also tell you that Hyrule Castle is your next place to go. Once you arrive at the castle, use the drawbridge to enter the next area. You cannot enter the Market or Hyrule Castle at night for your information. _____ ________________________________________________________ /____/ Hyrule Market \_______________________________________________________\ There are a lot of stuff you can do in Hyrule Market, but that is until later in the game. There is the Bazaar and the Potion Shop in here, also a Happy Mask Shop. There are games you can play in here as well and they are the Shooting Gallery and the Bombchu Bowling Alley. To be less confused, here are the location for each shop: Bazaar - banner has a bearded man Potion Shop - banner has a big pot Happy Mask Shop - to the left of the Potion Shop Bombchu Bowling Alley - banner has a Bombchu Shooting Gallery - banner has an arrow on the target In Bazaar, buy the Hylian Shield! You'll need it for later. You can go to the Shooting Gallery. Only 20 rupees per game. You have to hit all 10 rupees but you only can shoot 15 times. 1st rupee - pop up on the middle platform 2nd rupee - slide in from the left 3rd rupee - slide in from the right 4th rupee - pop and jump up in the air from the middle platform 5th rupee \__ both slide in from the left and the right side 6th rupee / 7th \__ slide in the air from right to left 8th / 9th \__ slide in the air from left to right with increased speed. 10th / * NOTE: The 4th rupee (the one that pops out from the middle platform) can be _random_ ... like it can be the 6th or the 8th in order. Thanks to winnie the poop for pointing that out. If you hit all 10 rupees in 15 shots or less, your award will be a bigger Bullet Bag for your Deku Seeds (holds up to 40 seeds). After you win the first game in the Shooting Gallery, there isn't anything else you can do here. Go north from the market to move on to get to the castle. Keep walking and before you go around the corner, Kaepora Gaebora will interrupt you again for a little bit. He will tell you that there are guards watching the castle ground. He will also tell you that time flows here in the castle ground and out in Hyrule Field, but it doesn't flow when you are in a village or a town. When he go and fly off into the sky, run and roll into the tree the owl was sitting on and a Gold Skulltula will fall down from the tree, kill it to get token #4. Walk up to the guard in front of the gate and he will tell you that you can't proceed up ahead. Walk back and go around the corner and stand near the tree, look around for a vine on the wall. Climb up on the vine and run across the ledge and then climb down the ladder at the top of the gate and then go through the door at the bottom of the ladder. Out here, run straight to where you see a sign and a boulder. Run up the hill and let one of the guards catch you, trust me, you'll get an important item after they kick you out. Once you are back outside the castle gate, go back to that vines and in front of it is a red-haired girl named Malon. Her father, Talon, is in the castle somewhere and she wants you to go find him for her and then she will give you a Weird Egg. Hold on to it and wait until the next morning, the Weird Egg will hatch into a chicken! Now, remember, you can't let a guard see you and catch you. If you are caught, you will be taken back outside the gate. There are two guards patrolling at the top of the hill and another one on the field to the left of them. Run up the hill between the guard on the field and the left guard at the top of the path and then veer to the left a little bit until you reach a patches of yellow flower at the end of the field. Turn right where you get to the yellow flowers and you should see a thin later of bricks on the wall, climb up on it and run towards the obelisk and then jump down into the moat off from the ledge. Swim to the slope at the end of the moat and run to the left until you come up to a sleeping man. If you incubated the weird egg and it hatched into a chicken, set it to one of the C-Stick slots and use it in front of Talon to wake him up. He will run back to his daughter, Malon, the red-haired girl who gave you the weird egg. Once Talon is out of the way, pull one of the crates away from the door until it stop and then push it towards the moat until it drops. Pull the other crate and push that on the top of the 1st crate and you will hear a chime. What does it mean? See the hole in the castle wall? Climb on top of the crate and jump over the gap into the hole in the castle wall. There is another hole which you can enter and crawl through, do so. At the other side of the hole, go left and the screen will move with you. This area has one guard, wait for him to walk to the back side of the bush so you can run into the next screen. The next screen shows two guards, each one will walk around the fountain. Wait until both are at the back side of the fountain and then run into the next screen. You can escape from the guard in this area easily, simply climb up the little stairs and then walk across the middle wooden board of the trellis then jump off it to move on into the next screen. The next area has two guards walking together around the large statue, wait for both of them to be at the back side of the statue so you can safety go into the last screen. The last area has two guards walking around the statue surrounded by bushes in the middle. Wait for one to walk by and silently follow that one guard until you reach the northern side of this area. If you suceed, turn left and walk into the courtyard up ahead. There are some fun things you can do and see. At the left window, shoot a seed from your slingshot into the window and a guard will throw a bomb at you. At the right window, look closely and you will see portraits of Mario, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi and Luigi. Walk up to the girl on the platform looking out the window and speak to her. Meet Princess Zelda, the princess of Hyrule. She will tell you a story about the three goddesses and the light that shined down in the forest. After the story, she will tell you her dream about the dark element and then she will scoot out of the way, allowing you to see what she was looking at out the window. You will see a man in block clothing, that is Ganondorf, the dark element. He hail from the west. Zelda have a bad feeling about that man. After a long scene, she will give you Zelda's Letter. Her attendant will teach you Zelda's Lullaby and then guide you out of the castle. Outside in Hyrule Field, she will tell you about Death Mountain, the home to Gorons, and Kakariko Village at the foot of the mountain. There are some things you have to get before you go up to Death Mountain. Stop by Lon Lon Ranch first because its closer. _____ ________________________________________________________ /____/ Lon Lon Ranch \_______________________________________________________\ Enemies: Guay (Night) Lon Lon Ranch sits in the middle of Hyrule Field. The time in the ranch doesn't flow and the ranch is open at all time. You might want to go in Lon Lon Ranch in the morning instead of nighttime. This ranch is owned by Talon, the sleeping man on outside the castle you met earlier and his partner, Ingo. Malon also lives there. They raise and tame horses, cows, and chickens there. Run over to where the corral is and meet Malon in the middle of the corral with a young horse named Epona. Talk to Malon and she will tell you that the horse's name is Epona. Epona will gallop away from you if you follow her. Talk to Malon and she says that Epona is afraid of you. Talk to her one more time and she wants you to sing this song with her that her mother composed. Take out your Fairy Ocarina in front of her and she will teach you Epona's Song. Epona will be all over you. You can play in a little mini-game here in the house, not the barn. This mini-game put you in finding 3 Super Cuccos in a gaggle of about 10 other chickens and you have about 30 seconds to find those 3 Super Cuccos. There is no different between a Super Cucco and a Chicken. So, be quick and pick one up at a time, if the chicken you hold in your hands isn't a Super Cucco, drop it down quickly and pick another one until a prompt pop up that says that you found one of the Super Cuccos. If you find all 3 Super Cuccos in 30 seconds or less, your award will be their Lon Lon Milk in a bottle. The milk isn't important, but the bottle is! You can also find Gold Skulltula #5 and #6 here and they are reachable. Leave the Lon Lon Ranch, your next destination is Kokiri Forest, there is a song there that you need to learn and play on your Fairy Ocarina. _____ ________________________________________________________ /____/ Kokiri Forest \_______________________________________________________\ Back in Kokiri Forest, go to the left and you will see a ledge, climb up on it and then climb up the vines nearby. You need to go to this place called Sacred Forest Meadow. The direction to get there through the wood is: Right, Left, Right, Left, Straight, Left, Right When you enter the place, move toward the gate and a wolf enemy called Wolfos will rise from the ground and howl. It takes about 7 strikes from your sword to kill it. Once you finally kill it, the gate will open. Be careful when you move around the maze. There may be a Mad Scrub in one of the corners. If there is one, they will spit nuts at you...so you know what to do with that. Take out your Deku Shield and take it out to reflect the nuts they spit at you back at it. Kill it when it leave its spot. When you get to the stairs, there are two more Mad Scrubs on the narrow path before you go up another stairs. You will meet Saria here at this special place. You are here to learn Saria's Song. That's it....without it....you won't be able to move on after you reach a certain point in the game. Now we can go to Kakariko Village! Leave the forest and find a small bridge to the right of Hyrule Castle, go across the bridge and then go up the stairs nearby to reach Kakariko Village. There is a target shooting place in the Lost Wood (when you first enter Lost Wood, just turn right) with a circular wood hanging on the branch. Take out your Fairy Slingshot and aim in the middle of the target and a number will appear if you hit it. Get 3 100s in a row and a Deku Scrub will walk over the branch and congrats you. He will give you the Big Bullet Bag! This bullet bag can hold up to 40 or 50 seeds depends on how many bullet bag you found so far. _____ _____________________________________________________ /____/ Kakariko Village \____________________________________________________\ Items: Bottle This village is located at the foot of Death Mountain. There are some things you can do in Kakariko Village before you go up to Death Mountain. You can take place in a little side-quest here. There is a Cucco Lady in the southeastern part of Kakariko Village. All of her 7 Cuccos flew away and she gets allergies if she touch one. So, you are going to have to find 7 Cuccos for her and they are within the village. 1. The first one is right behind you. 2. Near the exit to Hyrule Field 3. Near the entrance to Death Mountain 4. Inside the crate before you go up the first stairs to Death Mountain, simply roll into the crate to break it open. 5. Grab one of the Cuccos and go up the stairs behind the wishing well and use it to hover over the tall fence, you can find #5 behind the tall fence. 6. There is a ladder behind the tall fence, climb up the ladder and you'll find #6 on the little field at the top of the ladder. 7. Again, use a Cucco to hover yourself over to one side of the fence in front of the Skulltula House, you'll find #7 there. The reward for this is a bottle! There is not much you can do here in the village as of now. Go to the northern part of the village and you will see a guard there and a path up to Death Mountain, but a gate is blocking your way. Show the guard your letter from Zelda and he will open the gate for you. He will tell you that you need to equip a proper shield to get through Death Mountain. The shield that he's talking about is the Hylian Shield you bought back in the market. He also tell you about the Happy Mask Shop back in the market that just opened up. His son wanted a popular mask and he doesn't have the time to go get it. The mask his son wanted is the Keaton Mask, you can take it for 10 rupees from the Happy Mask Shop and return here back in Kakariko Village and show it to the guard. _____ _________________________________________________ /____/ Death Mountain Trail \________________________________________________\ Enemies: Red Tektite, Skullwalltula The Red Tektites rule the base of the trail. The Gorons are friendly people, so don't be afraid of them. Most of them will say that they are hungry and they feed on rocks. The rocks they eat are in Dodongo's Cavern, but the path to get there is blocked. The Gorons are in trouble and they need help. Their boss, Darunia, holds the next spiritual stone and he is waiting for the Royal Family's messenger. That messenger is you and his room is located on the bottom floor of the city. Either use the stairs or jump from the top floor to the bottom floor. His door is the one with a nice carpet in front of it, stand on the carpet and then take out your Fairy Ocarina, play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the door to open it. You are in Big Brother Darunia's room. Talk to the grouchy Darunia and he will give you more information about what is going on him and his people, the Gorons. Stand in front of him and play Saria's Song, this will get Darunia's attention...and.....watch the crazy part. After all that, he will tell you that he has the Goron's Ruby, also known as the Spiritual Stone of Fire, but he isn't going to give it to you right away. He ask you to destroy the monsters in Dodongo's Cavern for him, then he will give you the stone. He will also give you Goron's Bracelet, you now have the ability to pick up Bomb Flowers! Leave Goron City and go back outside on Death Mountain Trail. On the right side is a little area where Bomb Flowers grow. Try your new ability here by picking up the Bomb Flower and throw it down the cliff behind the fence. A scene will cut to the entrace of Dodongo's Cavern. When the bomb explode, it also blow up the large boulder that is blocking the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern! That new hole is your next destination, so, follow the trail to the bottom and enter the new cave... _______ ____/ 3.2 \_________________________________________________________________ | -Dodongo's Cavern Items: Bomb Bag Enemies: Baby Dodongo, Dodongo, Gohma Egg, Gohma Larva, Keese, Lizalfos, Bosses: King Dodongo You are not in the actual dungeon yet. You'll see two bomb flowers, one on each side and a weak wall. Pick up one of the Bomb Flowers and drop it in front of the weak wall. Wait until it explode and the wall should be destroyed. Go through the new door and you'll be in the main room of Dodongo's Cavern. There are three platforms around the center platform and a bomb flower right in the middle of the center platform. Jump over to the center platform, now look to the right side of this main area in the direction you came in. You will see 2 bombable doors and a hallway that is unreachable to get up on. Do not pick the Bomb Flower up until you see that right elevating platform reaches its highest point and when it stops, pick up the Bomb Flower and run and jump on the platform and then jump again to get on the ledge, veer to the left and either throw or drop the Bomb Flower in front of the left weak door. You will see a big chest inside, open it to find a Dungeon Map! Get back on the center platform with the bomb flower. On the ground floor (where the lava is) is a boulder towards the NORTHEAST corner. Take a look around until you see that boulder...see it? Pick up the Bomb Flower again from the center platform and then run and drop down to the lower ground of the main room and place it next to the boulder in the northeast corner. Wait until the bomb to explode and it will destroy the boulder, revealing a switch underneath it. Step on the floor switch, this cause the nearby elevating platform to elevate up to the 2nd floor. Get on that platform, there is a ladder behind you by the way. When the elevating platform reaches its highest point, jump off to a nearby ledge with a little mount on the edge. Walk around the ledge and you will see a bridge, run across the bridge and there is a switch in a little alcove. Step on that switch, this will light the torch up and unbar the door on the western side of the room (just below where you are at). Enter go back across the bridge and then ride the platform down or jump down from the alcove. When you get to the unbarred door, go through it. In here, you will see a set of stairs surrounded by Bomb Flowers excelt the middle front part of the stairs. There are also two Beamos in here. I suggest you get rid of them first before you do anything else. If you get in the middle of the low platform, Navi will say something like "Wow! Look at all those bombs! I bet there is a way to set them all off at once?" There is no other bomb flower in the area, so...pick up one of the bomb flowers in the far back and then carry it over to the front side where there is no bomb flower. When the bomb explode, it will blow up all of the bomb flowers from the middle to the back side, causing a set of stairs to drop down! Go up the new stairs and when you get on the gray block, it will elevate to the part where you see a Deku Scrub. Reflect the nut it spit at you back at it and it will surrender. Talk to him and he will go away if you buy a Deku Stick off from him for 50 rupees, hah! There is a barred door to the south on the 2nd floor of this room. Something has to trigger it to get it unbarred. There are 5 silver rupees in this room, if you collect all of this, the door will be unbarred. 1. Under one of the Beamos, either blow it up or walk by it when it isn't watching. 2. In the crate in the northwestern corner of the room. 3. In the crate on the ramp leading up to the barred door in the northwestern corner. 4. In the crate on the wooden ramp in the southeastern corner. 5. On the vines in front of the barred door, climb up the vines to get it. Once you collect all 5 silver rupees, the door will be unbarred. Go through that door into the next room. There are 3 Dodongos in here, get rid of them first before you do anything else! The only way to inflict damage on them is if you take a swing at its tail when one stop to inhale. At least 3 or 4 swings from your Kokiri Sword should kill it. A chest appears, open the chest to find a Compass! and the door to the east will be unbarred, go through the new door and then run across the bridge into the next room. Before you climb down the ladder, there are three torches....one on each wall, but they are in the middle of the wall! If you get on the ground, the torches are unreachable for a Deku Stick. Look around and you will find 3 brown blocks. Pull each one and set it under one of the three torches, do the same for the remaining two blocks you see in here. Climb back up the ladder you were just on and there is a lit torch sitting in the hallway. Take out a Deku Stick and quickly run and jump down the middle unlit torch and then light it up with the fire on your Deku Stick then jump to either the left or right unlit torch and light that one up and then jump over two gaps to light up the last torch. If the middle or one of the torches distinguish, simply carry the fire from one of the three torches that is still lighting and then carry it over to the dintinguished torch to light it up again. If you light up all 3 unlit torches, a barred door will be unbarred in the northern part of the room. Drop down to the ground floor and look for a ledge you can jump up on and then go through the new door. In here, you will see shadows on the floor. Look up and you will see at least 5 Gohma Eggs. Kill all 5 Gohma Larvaes the door will be unbarred and a chest appears. Open the chest to get a blue rupee. Don't leave the room yet! Break open the crates and in one of the crate, you will find Gold Skulltula #7. Leave the room to go back to the previous room. The room will probably reset itself, all of the blocks you pulled will be back in its original position. There is a lit torch on a platform in the middle of the room, it wasn't lit before. Climb up on the block to get up on that platform with a lit torch and then take out your Deku Stick. Look to the east and you will see a ladder and a hallway that leads into the next room. Light the Deku Stick on fire and then jump over the gap, Link will grab on the edge of the ledge, tilt up on the control stick to get up on the hallway floor quickly. Carry the lit stick to the unlit torch in the hallway and then light it up, burn down the cobweb too! A Skulltula will drop down, simply swing a lit Deku Stick at it to immediately kill it and then take out another Deku Stick and light it up with the torch you just lit and then carry the fire over to the next unlit torch behind where the Skulltula was. There is a large block sitting on the platform and its blocking your way to the next room. Look on the ground to the left, you will see a brown block on the ground. Go down there and push the brown block to the platform at the other side of the room. Climb up on the block and then jump onto the platform above, there is another Skulltula up here... kill that one too. In this hallway, I suggest you kill the 3 Keeses and the Skulltula here before you do anything. Two of the Keeses are on each torch in this hallway and another one is on the wall. Go all the way back to where the lit torch is and then take out your Deku Stick. Set it on fire and carry it over to the Bomb Flower, the bomb will drop. Immediately pick up the bomb and either drop it or throw it in front of the weak wall at the end of the hallway. Once the wall is destroyed, go through the next door. You will be in a room that is filled with lava. Good thing that there are some platforms for you to jump on. There are two Lizalfos in here, one on a different platform. One of them will come on the same platform with you to engage in battle with you. The Lizalfos will drop its guard when it is about to take a swing at you, that is when you strike your sword at it. After your third strike at the lizard, it will evade and the other Lizalfos will come over. At least five strikes from your Kokiri Sword will kill one. Once you kill both Lizalfos, the door to the west will be unbarred... go through that door. Walk in here and the first thing you should do is kill the Keese in the northern side of the room (to the right when you enter this room) and there is another one in the little alcove in one of the wall so that they won't bother you when you try to solve a little puzzle here. Break all of the crates in here as well. Head over to the crystal switch and hit it once with your sword to distinguish the flame on the first platform. Run and jump up the platform you were just on and then jump over to the platform where the flame was and then turn left and jump in the small alcove with the bomb flower. Pick up the bomb and then drop down to the ground and carry it over to the boulder in the northwest corner of the room. Wait for the bomb to blow up and it will destroyed the boulder, revealing a switch under it. Now, you need to be fast on this... hit the crystal switch first and then run over to the floor switch and step on it. The flames on both platforms will distinguish, immediately climb back up on the previous platform and then use the two platforms to jump on to get to the other side of the room. Go through this hallway to the room you were in not too long ago. Jump over the gap (you can veer to the left and open the chest to get a blue rupee, the jar also holds a blue rupee) and go through the hallway. There is a bomb flower sitting in front of three boulders. Simply pick the bomb up and set it right back down to destroy all three boulders. Are you ready to take part in a crazy move? Here we go...but before you do, head over to where the mount is and take a look down... there is a weak wall on southeastern side of the room. You have to pick up the bomb flower and run and jump all the way down to the 1st floor of this main room and then take the bomb over to that weak wall to destroyed it. If you succeed, go through the new hallway. In this room, head over to the LEFT white platform and when you get on it, it will elevated up to the ledge above. Get on that ledge and you will see a bomb flower. Take a look around the room and look for a boulder nearby. Pick up the bomb and then drop down to the ground and take it over to that boulder to destroy it. There is another bomb flower where the boulder used to be. Take that bomb and set it in front of the weak wall nearby to destroy it. Don't go through that door yet, however there is another boulder in the same room that you should destroy. Look up in the ceiling and you'll see a row of bomb flowers leading to a boulder in the ceiling. Take the bomb from the floor and throw it over to where the row of bomb flowers start and once the bomb you threw blows up, it will blow up bomb after bomb until it gets to the boulder, revealing an eye switch behind the boulder. Take out your Fairy Slingshot and shoot a seed at the eye switch to unbar the door nearby. Go through this hallway, but watch out for the Baby Dodongos! Try not to stay in front of it or it will pounce on you. Take a swing at one and run away from it because it will blow up like a bomb! Two Lizalfos will be waiting for you in a large room. The platforms are big enough for you to engage in a battle with a Lizalfos, take your time here. Once you kill both Lizalfos, the door to the northwest will unbars, go through that door into the next room. Ignore the door to the right when you come in here and go into the larger blue room. There are Poes in here, you can kill them if you want, but don't use the L-Targetting on them or they will disappear. At least three strikes from your sword should kill one. There are two sets of row with bomb flowers on each pillar. Grab a bomb flower from the southern end of this room and carry the bomb to the southern end of the pillar, just below a row of bomb flowers. Wait for the bomb to blow up and it will blow up bomb after bomb until you trigger a switch up there to unbar the southern door. Go through the new door. Go down the little hallway and open the chest. Inside you will find a Bomb Bag! Wow... no more carrying bomb flowers. Since you got the Bomb Bag, you can go back and grab token #8 (Gold Skulltula). If you decide to go back there to get it, come back here in the main room (with the Dodongo's head). Jump on the high elevating platform and then head over to the bridge. Drop down through one of the two gaps in the bridge and you'll be on the Dodongo's head. Place a bomb in both eyes until it explode. The eyes will turn red and then the mouth of the Dodongo will open, revealing a door in the back of the mouth, go through the new door. In the 4-way room, take the east hallway and go through the hallway into the next room. In here, drop down to the ground and go around the wall. You will see three tombstones. Pull the east one back and a Lizalfos will drop down. Kill the Lizalfos. Now, go and stand on top of the tombstone on the other end, Navi will turn green and fly over at the other side of the little wall, you will see a crystal switch. Take out a bomb and throw it over the fire and wait for it to explode to trigger the switch, this will distinguish the fire. Climb over the little wall and drop down to the other side. Get up on the ledge nearby and then go into the next room. There is a tomstone in the middle of the room, but there is a lone Poe hovering around in the room. Kill the Poe first, remember not to use the L-Targeting on it. Head over and get behind the tombstone and pull it as far as it go, revealing a chest. Open it to find a blue rupee. Go back to the previous room. Look to the right, you'll see a set of about 8-10 Armos. They will only move if you touch it or hit it with your sword. Once they move, place a bomb down in front of one and it will turn red and spin around uncontrollably. There is a row of bomb flowers on the right wall, so you need to get two or three Armos away from that side of the wall so you can set a bomb by that row of bomb flowers so you can trigger the switch on the other side. Once you trigger it, the white block will change into a set of stairs, climb up on it to get on the other side. If you have an empty bottle, there is a fairy in one of the pots here, catch it with the bottle. You might need it for the upcoming battle. Go through the hallway until you come up to a tombstone at the end. Pull it back as far as you can, you will see a floor switch, step on it and the door to the boss's room will be unlocked. Go through the new door and then simply place a bomb in the middle of the floor where its weak. Wait for the bomb to explode, it will reveal a hole that leads to the actual boss room. Prepare yourself before you go down there. _____ ______________________________________ /____/ Infernal Dinosaur: King Dodongo \_____________________________________\ After Link drop in from above, he looks behind him. A large creature walking and stomping towards him and then roar at him. Infernal Dinosaur.... King Dodongo. First off, he will take take a deep breath and then blow out a large stream of fire. After that, he will curl up into a ball and row across two sides and hit the wall. He will do those two moves over and over. Whenever he inhales, take out and bomb and run toward him and then throw the bomb IN HIS MOUTH. He will suck it in and choke on it. The bomb will explode inside him, this will stun him for a little bit. While King Dodongo is stunned, take a swing at him with your Kokiri Sword to inflict damage. He will get up and curl into a ball, while he does it, stay on the edge of the side but don't step in the lava pit. When he pass by you, run after him until he crashes into the wall. King Dodongo will turn around and take a deep breath, do the same strategy you did before for 3 more times or until he die. Don't forget to grab the Heart Container before you step in the blue portal! After the battle, you will be taken outside the Dodongo Cavern. Darunia will jump down behind you and give you a big pat on the back. After a little conversation about Ganondorf, he will give you the Spiritual Stone of Fire. He also tells you that you should go see the Great Fairy at the top of Death Mountain. _____ _________________________________________________ /____/ Death Mountain Trail \________________________________________________\ After the conversation with Darunia, go up the trail and then veer to the left... NOT the trail that leads to Goron City. Veer to the left up the steep hill and you got 3 boulders to blow up, but you only need to blow the boulder sitting on top of the slope and the boulder on the other side of the gap. The boulder on the other side of the gap requires some little bomb-throwing skill. You need to throw it towards the left side of the boulder to be able to get the bomb in behind it to destroy it. Jump over the little gap and then climb up the ledge. Make sure you got your Hylian Shield equipped for this part of the trail. Once you step in the sloping path, the ground will shake like there was a volcanic eruption. During this, rocks will fall from the sky... look for a shadow under Link and that is when you should hold down the R shouder button. Link will crouch, using his large Hylian Shield to protect himself. Keep moving until you reach a climbable wall. On the wall are at least 3 Skullwalltulas. Kill the first one and then climb up the wall until you reach the next ledge. Kill the next Skullwalltula and then climb up to the last ledge, and then kill the last Skullwalltula. Climb up until you reach the top of the mountain. Here, you can talk to Kaepora Gaebora if you want to. There is a weak wall to the left of him, place a bomb down in front of it to destroy the wall to reveal a cave, go in it. You are here, in the Great Fairy's Fountain. Walk up and stand on the Triforce symbol in front of the fountain. Take out your Fairy Ocarina and play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce. The Great Fairy of Power, the leader of all fairies, rises from the pool. She will grant you a sword technique and teach you how to use it. This sword technique comsumes magic, so watch that meter! She also tell you that you should stop by and see her friend near Hyrule Castle. Head back to Hyrule Castle... _____ ________________________________________________________ /____/ Hyrule Castle \_______________________________________________________\ After running through Hyrule Field and the Hyrule Market. You are back here at the ground outside Hyrule Castle. Climb up the vines and either use the ladder or jump down from the top of the gate to reach the path at the other side of the gate. Run towards the sign and it says "Dead End". There is a boulder sitting back there, set a bomb beside it to destroy the boudler. Behind it is a little hole in which you can enter and crawl through. You will be in another Great Fairy Fountain. This one is the Great Fairy of Magic, she will give you a magic spell called Din's Fire. This is one of the three magic spells you will collect in this game. Din's Fire is useful if you have to light up 4 or 5 torches to trigger something. It can be used in attack as well... but you probably only need to use it if you lost both your sword and shield. Leave the Great Fairy's Fountain. Back out here in Hyrule, you are probably wondering where to go next and you have one more Spiritual Stone left to collect, but you don't know where yet. Navi will call you and tell you that you should talk to Saria. Take out your Fairy Ocarina and play Saria's Song. You won't be standing face to face, but you will be talking to her telepathically. She will tell you who holds the Spiritual Stone of Water, and that person is King Zora. Head back out in Hyrule Field and then act like you are going back to Kakariko Village but drop in the little river between the castle and the stairs to the village. Jump across the river and then go up the little slope, jump across the gap. There is another gate blocking your way up. So, take a left, jump over a small gap and go around the corner and then drop down to the ground below. Run pass the log and jump up on the ledge and then walk across the small creek to get on the next platform. Look to the left, you will see a tunnel, go through it until you see a Zora at the end. Talk to him and play the diving game for 20 rupees. The Zora will throw 5 blue rupees in the water at the base of the waterfall. Jump into the water and collect all 5 rupees in a limited time. If you get all 5 rupees before time is up, the Zora got something good for you. Go back up to where he is and talk to him again to get the Silver Scale. This scale lets you dive and stay underwater for 6 seconds! Dive off the top of the waterfall again and look for a underwater tunnel to the south, dive down there and swim through the tunnel. You will end up in Lake Hylia. DON'T MOVE! Just look a little bit below Link's feet, you see that bottle underwater? Swim toward the bottle and then dive underwater to pick it up! Something is in the bottle...what is it? Swim back down to the underwater tunnel to go back in Zora's Domain. Step on the switch to make a chest appear behind you. Open the chest to find a Dungeon Map. You probably heard some "moo" when you were walking around. Look on the wall for two cow heads and they are actually switches to trigger something, not a head mount like Jabu-Jabu won for a cow-eating contest. Take out your Fairy Slingshot and shoot the right cow head to make another chest appear, open it to get some Deku Nuts. Shoot the left cow head to unlock the next door. Go through that door into the next room. There are at least two Biris in here, the only way you can kill them for now is the Deku Nut. Throw a nut at one to stun it and then while its stunned, throw a strike from your sword to kill it. Ignore the wobbling blocks for now and there should be an elevating platform in the middle of the room here, wait for it to come up and then jump on the platform to ride it down. Swim back underwater back to the other side and then get on the elevating platform to get back up to 1st floor, go through the door to the north. As soon as you walk into the room, the cut-scene will take over and you will meet Princess Ruto, the bratty princess of the Zoras. She doesn't care if her father is worried about her or anything. She goes off and fall through one of the suctions on the floor. Go and fall through the same suction she fell through and then talk to her again. She mentioned a stone, talk to her again to get the ability to carry her! Look around in the same room for two cow heads, shoot the LEFT one with your slingshot. A chest appears to the left of it, head over there and open it to find a Bombchu! There is a floor switch, step on it and you'll be riding on a geyser. Jump off the geyser to the ledge where Ruto is. Pick her up and jump on the floor switch to ride on the geyser again, but jump off to the ledge where you see another floor switch. Jump on it to unlock the door across the room, but when you get off the door will lock up again... so drop Ruto on the switch to hold it down and then go through the unlocked door. When you enter the hallway, a Lizalfos will drop in front of you. Kill it to get it out of your way. When you get to the middle part of the room, drop in the water below, but watch out for the Like-Like and the Stingers. You are better off killing the Like-Like first. Simply take out your slingshot and shoot seeds at the Like-Like. It takes about 5 seeds for it to be killed. Kill the Stingers as well and a chest will appear on the ledge high up on the wall. Step on the floor switch in the water to raise the water level. Swim over to the vines on the west wall and then climb up on it to get to the big chest. Open the chest to find the Boomerang! Go south through the hallway you haven't been through yet and go through the door at the end. You will be back in the same room with the elevating platform. Jump on the platform to go back up to 1st floor and then go through the door to the north where you first saw Princess Ruto. In here, look to the right and look up. You will see a boulder on the wall. If you set a bomb underneath it, the range of the explosion won't hit the boulder. Use the Bombchu instead! Stand far back but facing that boulder and then set out a Bombchu. Let it run until it hits the boulder to destroy it, revealing a cow behind it. Shoot the cow with a seed from your slingshot to unlock the door behind you. Weave around the suctions on the floor to the door, but you are blocked by a wobbling block. Simply take out your Boomerang and throw it at the block to stun it. Climb over the block and then go through the new door. Once you enter this room with three paths, take the north (or straight) path. A Lizalfos will drop in to engage in a battle with you. Kill the lizard warrior and then set a bomb in front of the boulders nearby to destroy it. Doing this reveals a floor switch, step on it to unlock the door in front of you. As soon as you get off the floor switch, the door will be locked again. Go back and take a west (or right path) and pick up one of the boxes in the hallway. Carry it back to where the floor switch is and drop it on the switch to hold it down. You'll be able to go through the door now. Hanging from the ceiling is a tentacle. Go up close to it but NOT TOO CLOSE or it will take a swing at you and inflict damage to you. Get your boomerang ready and press down on the L shoulder button to put a target on the tentacle. Walk up close to it and the tentacle will lower itself, when it does this, immediately throw the boomerang at it before it takes a huge swing to hit you. Hit it 3 more times to kill it and the door will be unlocked. Back in the room with several hallways, take the east (or left) hallway and then turn north (before the web), go through the door at the end of the hallway. There are two cows and an unlit torch in here. Shoot at both cows to bring out two Like-Likes. Stay far away from them and if one happen to eat you, it will eat your shield. The Like-Like takes 4 shots from your slingshot for it to be killed. After you kill both Like-Likes, a chest will appear. Inside is a Deku Stick. Remember the web outside the room in the hallway? Light a stick on fire and then go through the door then light the web on fire to destroy it. Go through the door behind where the web was. This room here also has that tentacle hanging from the ceiling. Use the same strategy you used with the first tentacle on this one. Once you get rid of the tentacle, head back out in the hallway and go all the way where the boxes are (western side of this room). Go through the far left door into another room with the tentacle. I promise you that this is the last tentacle you'll ever fight. Once you kill the last tentacle, head back out in the hallway and take the first left and then go through the door you haven't went through yet. Kill all of the Shaboms and the Tailpasarans in here first before you do anything. Once you get rid of them, look up the east wall and you will see a boulder up there. Take out your Bombchu and set it to hit the boulder up there. Once you destroy the boulder, you will also destroy a Gold Skulltula up there. Step on the floor switch and you will be riding on the geyser. Hold down the button wherever you put the boomerang on and HOLD THAT BUTTON DOWN, use the control stick to control the range and then let the boomerang go and collect token #15! Go all the way back to the room where you left Princess Ruto (take the south hallway and then fall in that same suction) Back in the room with Princess Ruto, she will go on about how inconsiderate you are. Take it as a compliment and when she sits again, pick her up and then jump on the floor switch again to ride on the geyser. Jump off on the highest ledge and then go through the door back there. Here, Ruto will find her stone, the Spiritual Stone of Water. Throw her up on the platform and she will pick it up. She tells you that she got what she lost and she wants you to take her out of here. Move a step forward and the platform Ruto is standing on will rise up to the top of the ceiling. Something is going on up there... the platform will come back down with an octopus on the platform. You will be engaged in a sub-boss battle with the Bigocto. To kill this sub-boss, you need to move in close to it, close enough for the boomerang to stun it. Once the Bigocto is stunned, go around or toward his rear end and you will see a green section. Take a slash at it to inflict damage to the Bigocto. It will turn around and skittle towards you, go around the spinning platform while avoiding the spikes until you get close to him again. Stop immediately and throw a boomerang at him to stun him again. Go for his rear end again and take a strike. Do the same strategy 3 more times or until he dies. Jump on the platform to ride back up to 1st floor. Look for a cow head on the wall, hit it with a seed from your slingshot to unlock the next door, go through it. This room has two of those wobbling blocks. Look around the room for a cow head on the wall (its behind the 1st wobbling block). Take out your slingshot and shoot the cow, you will hear a chime... but what does it do? Look behind you and you will see two boxes. Turn around and stand on the edge of the platform to make the 1st and the 2nd block to wobble, take out your boomerang and hit both blocks to stun them for a while. Pick up one of the two boxes and then jump over the two blocks and then put it on the floor switch in the next hallway. You've got to be fast to do this before one of the blocks will start wobbling again and if you touch one, you will be electrocuted. Go through the next door. In here, jump across the gap and land onto the platform. You will ride it back down to where the elevating platform is. Shoot the cow's head if you want, the chest holds a Recovery Heart. Go through the door to the east. Once you enter the room, two Like-Likes will drop in the room from the ceiling. Kill them first before you do anything. Once you get rid of them, look around the room for 2 cow heads. Shoot the left one and a chest will appear, inside is a blue rupee or the Deku Shield if you lost it. Shoot the right cow head and it will go high, shoot it again and it will go even higher. At the third shot, the door to the boss will be unlocked. Prepare yourself with a boomerang and a sword before you go through the last door. _____ /____/ Bio-electric Anemone: Barinade After the cut-scene, you will notice that Barinade sits in one spot while the Biris circles around it. Press down on the L-shoulder button to put your target on Barinade's three tentacles that are attached to the ceiling. Use your boomerang to take one out at a time, but you have to move, DO NOT stop just to throw or wait for the boomerang. Once you cut all three tentacles down, Barinade will move out from the ground and spin around while the Biris are spinning around it. Stay in one of the corners where the pots are and wait for Barinade to stop spinning. When it does, use the boomerang to take out most of the Biris. When Barinade gets up to move around and spin again, focus on Barinade again and throw your boomerang at it to stun it and kill the remaining Biris. Now that you got rid of all of the Biris, Barinade doesn't have any other attack to use on you except for its antennaes that shoots out electricity. When Barinade gets up and spin around the room, throw your boomerang at it to stun it and then go up to it and strike your swrd at it non-stop until Barinade retreats. Keep running around the room while Barinade is trying to zap you. After a while, Barinade will get up and spin around the room, do the same strategy you did before until he die. After the battle, don't forget to pick up the Heart Container. You will see Princess Ruto standing in the blue teleporter, step in it with her to be teleported back outside in Zora's Fountain. Ruto will be all flirty with you and she will ask you what you want in return for saving her life. He even remember the song, he will teach the song to you. This song is called the Song of Storms. Leave the windmill and then go to the graveyard. In the graveyard, go to the north side and look for a tombstone with a patch of flowers in front of it. Get behind that tombstone and grab and pull it until you reveal a hole. Jump in the hole and you will see Dampe again. Talk to him to be participated in a race. The goal here is to keep up with him, whether you beat him or not. If you lost track of him, you will lose. Dampe will put out fires in your track, avoid them and if you get in contact with one, it will slow you down. Once you reach the end of the race, he will give you a prize. Open the chest to get the Hookshot! Go through the only door in here and they are some blue blocks in your way. Play the Song of Time in front of it to make it disappear. It will raise its weapon and smash it on the ground to create a stream of "earthquake" to you. Dash left and right to avoid the streams until you walk pass him. You can use your sword to kill him when you are behind him. Go up the stairs and you will meet with Sheik again. She will teach you a song called the Minuet of Forest. The vines on the right side of the tree are covered with Skullwalltulas. When you reach the top, get on the tree and SLOWLY walk across on the tree branch. Position yourself to the other tree branch across the gap and jump over on it. Step on the switch nearby to make a chest appear on the tree you were just on. Head back and jump over the gap again to the tree you were on and then open the chest to find a Small Key. Climb down the vines or jump down to the ground floor and go through the door to the temple. In this little hallway, look up and focus on each Skulltula with the L-button and use your hookshot on them (the hookshot can break through the hard shell of the Skulltula and kill it). Before you use the small key on the door at the opposite end, look in one of the corners for a Gold Skulltula. Once you go in the next room, a cut-scene will take over. You will see 4 Poes, each one has their own color. The 4 Poes disappears and the elevator in the middle elevates into the ground. Go through the door straight ahead from the entrance. There is a blue block in this hallway, simply take out your Ocarina and play the Song of Time here to remove it. Go through the door behind where the block was. The door will be barred behind you when you walk in this room. Two Wolfos will spring from the ground and attack you. Focus on one of them and kill it with your Master Sword. The wolf takes about 4 strikes from your sword. Once you kill both of them, a chest appears, open it to find another small key inside. Head back to the main room (the one where the 4 Poes was) and take the door to the right (or western side of the room on the map). Walk down a little further in this hallway and a Stalfos should appear. Use the same strategy you used on the Wolfos. Wait for the Stalfos to drop its guard (when it raises its sword) and go for a strike. This skeleton warrior takes about 6 strikes from your sword for it to be killed. Go through the next door after you kill the Stalfos. This room here is one of the puzzle rooms in the temple. Go straight and climb up the two ladders, go around the corner to the left and turn left again. You should see a blue block...pull it back until you have room to go through the hallway behind it. Go around the ledge until you come up to another blue block. Push this block all the way to the back until it drops into a groove. Go back to the hallway where you pulled the first blue block out and you should see a ladder, climb up on it. At the top of the ladder, go right around the room until you see a red block and pull it all the way back until it stops. Head back down to where the 2nd blue block you pushed and climb on it and then jump on the ledge above. Look for a red block up here, push it all the way forward until it drops into a groove. Climb up on it and then climb up on the ledge. You should see a crystal switch up here, hit it with your sword and a hookshot target will appear. Take the path to the right of the crystal switch and then climb up the ladder. There are a couple of Blue Bubbles in here, if one of them fly towards you, block it out with your Hylian Shield and then hit it with your sword when the blue flame distinguish. Use the small key on the locked door here and then go through it. Go through this hallway into the next room. Navi will alert you about the shadow of the hand (Wallmaster). You can tell its coming by the shadow under Link's feet and the sound getting louder. Do not try to stand in one spot for a long time. Drop down off the ledge and open the blue and yellow chest to find a Boss Key inside! take it! There is no other way to go, drop into the hole on the floor near the chest back to 1st floor. Once in here, watch out for the Floormaster. The hand creature takes about two strikes from your sword for it to split up into 3 pieces. Kill all 3 little hands before they reunite. Do not let one of the little hands grab you. If you let one of them grab you, it will turn into a Floormaster. Once you kill the Floormaster and all the pieces, a nearby door will be unlocked. In here, take the 2nd small alcove on the right and then go through the door. Kill the lone zombie in here and a small chest will appear. Open it to find another small key inside. Go back to the previous room and then take the door to the right. Hit the crystal switch when you get in here. Hitting it will flip the room where you got the Boss Key from. Drop down and look for a hookshot target in the air. Take out your hookshot and hit the target with it to drag yourself up there. Head back to the room with the Blue Bubbles and then go through the door. The hallway is twisted now, run through it. Back in the room with the Wallmaster and the chest, jump across the gap to land on the platform and then turn to the right, jump across another gap. Use the small key on the unlocked door here and then go through it. Go down the stairs (ignore the ghost in the portrait for now) and through the door in the room at the bottom of the stairs. The door will be barred down behind you when you enter this room. Walk towards to the center of the room but DON'T fall down in the hole. A Stalfos will appear, focus on it with the L-targetting technique and kill him. A platform will fall in from above with 2 Stalfos on it. Kill them both and a large chest will appear, open it to find a Fairy Bow inside! Head back to the room with portraits of a red poe on one of them. Okay... now... Go up the stairs and one of the three portraits has a red poe on it. If you go near it, it will disappear. Try to stay far away from it and then take out your Fairy Bow. Shoot an arrow anywhere on the portrait. You got 2 more portraits to go and one of them has the red poe in it. Shoot that 2nd portrait with the bow and then the last one. The Red Poe, named Joelle, will appear in the room below. To kill it, stay fary away from it and shoot an arrow at it to inflict damage. Do this 4 more times to get rid of Joelle and another big chest will appear. Open it to find a Dungeon Map inside. Head back in the room where you had a battle with some Stalfos and go through the door on the other end. This room is just like the one you did for Joelle. Go up the stairs and one of the three portraits has a blue poe on it. If you go near it, it will disappear. Try to stay far away from it and then take out your Fairy Bow. Shoot an arrow anywhere on the portrait. You got 2 more portraits to go and one of them has the blue poe in it. Shoot that 2nd portrait with the bow and then the last one. The Blue Poe, named Beth, will appear in the room below. To kill it, stay fary away from it and shoot an arrow at it to inflict damage. Do this 4 more times to get rid of Beth and another big chest will appear. Open it to find a Compass inside. Head all of the way back to the main room (where you first saw the 4 Poe Sisters). Back here in the main room, go to the northeastern area of the room and look for a yellow eye on the archway. Take out your Fairy Bow and shoot it with an arrow. This will unlock the door to the northeast, go through it. Once out here, kill the Big Deku Baba so that it won't be in your way. Look up behind you above the entrance and you should see a hookshot target. On it is a Gold Skulltula, kill it with your hookshot and then nab it with the tool again. Look around in the southern side of the room for a well. Stand on the southern edge of the well and look for a yellow eye trigger in the water. Shoot it with your Fairy Bow to drain the water. Climb down the ladder and you will see a small chest at the bottom of the ladder. Open it to find another small key inside. There is a Gold Skulltulas on the grate at the end of this tunnel. Climb back up the ladder and go to the hookshot target where you found the last Gold Skulltula and use the hookshot on it to get yourself up there. Look to the northwest and you should see a blue block. Play the Song of Time here to make a blue block appear. Jump over to the 2nd blue block and then play the Song of Time again to make another blue block to appear. Jump up on that blue block and then jump over the gap to get yourself on the vines. Climb up the vines but watch out for the Skullwalltula. Drop on the balcony nearby and then open the chest to find a small key. Look across the balcony to the east for a hookshot target, use your hookshot on it to get yourself over to the easy balcony, go through the door here. Kill the Skulltula first when you get in here. Head over and stand behind the torch so that the torch is in between you and the spider web. Take out your Fairy Bow and shoot an arrow through the fire and hit the web to destroy it. Go through the door behind where the web was. Now... go all of the way back to where the 2nd Poe Sister was (Beth) and then when you get there, go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs is a locked door, unlock it with one of the small keys you found and then go through it. This room is another one of those rooms where the Wallmaster lurks. Jump from the ledge to the ledge across from you into the hallway with the Green Bubbles. Strike at the Green Bubble with your sword when the green flame vanishes. At the other end of this hallway is a locked door, unlock it with the small key and then go through it. Once in here, drop off to the right and climb up the ladder onto the platform. You should see a box on here, pick it up and wait for one of the rotating platforms to get close so you can jump and land on it. Jump again to the middle platform with the unlit torch and then place the box on the switch to light the torch up. The hard part is there is a frozen eye trigger and you have to shoot an arrow through the torch and hit the eye trigger while on one of the moving platforms. If you succeed, jump back on the middle platform and remove the box from the switch to make the white block disappear. Go through the door you came in from. Go through the hallway with the Green Bubbles and into the room with the Wallmaster. Now that the room is flipped, there is a hole on the floor, drop down on the floor and drop into the hole. You will be in a room with the checkerboard floor, turn south and walk a little further and a large piece of ceiling will fall in from above. The ceiling has several holes on it and you have to go to that spot on the floor where the hole fall on so that you won't get squashed by the ceiling. The checkerboarded floor has 2 floor switches you can step on, one of them unlock the next door and the other one make a chest with a bundle of bows to appear somewhere else on the floor. There are about 6 Skulltulas hanging out here as well. Use can use the Fairy Bow to take out most of them. Once you step on the floor switch that unlocks the next door, head back while avoiding getting crushed by the ceiling and go west through the next door. Drop down off the ledge to the ground below the ledge. Open the small chest here to find a small key inside. Look around for a blue block, climb up on it and play the Song of Time with the ocarina on it to make another blue block to appear. Climb on the 2nd blue block and then play the Song of Time with the ocarina for the last time and another blue block should appear near the door you came in from. Jump up on that and then go through the door to come back in the room with the checkerboarded floor. If you somehow fall off the ledge, you'll have to go all of the way around the temple to the room with the checkerboarded floor. When you are back in the room with the checkerboarded floor, there is a locked door on the other side of the room (southern side). Wait for the ceiling to fall and as soon as it goes back up, run and roll all the way across the floor to the locked door. You can stand in the hole of the ceiling wherever it fall on if you want. If you made it in time before the ceiling fall again, unlock the next door and then go through it. You'll be in for a little puzzle. There is a portrait of Amy, one of the Poe Sisters, on the wall. Shoot an arrow at it to start a puzzle. There are 5 blocks, one of them block doesn't match and that is the BLUE block (without any design on it). You have put together the 4 blocks so it look like the one on the portrait. After you put the blocks together, Amy will be ready for a battle. Stay far away from Amy and shoot an arrow at her 5 times (only when she is visible) to kill her. After you defeat her, the door nearby will be unbarred, go through that door. You'll be back in the main room. Jump down off the balcony and run toward the middle room to be engaged in a battle with the last Poe sister, Meg. Meg will split into 4, 3 of them are fake. The real Meg is the one who spin after it splits into 4 Poes. Take out your bow and shoot at the real Meg with an arrow. Do this 4 more times and the elevator below you will rise. Jump in the elevator to be taken down to the last room. This room has two locked gates. Push one of the walls that are sticking out counterclockwise and in one of the alcove is a chest. Open it to find a bundle of arrows. Push the wall counterclockwise again and in one of the alcove is a crystal switch, hit it with an arrow to open the gate in front of you. Run in there and step on the floor switch to open another gate somewhere. Push the wall counterclockwise 2 more times and go in one of the alcove. Turn around and look up for a yellow eye. Take out your Fairy Bow and shoot at the eye with an arrow to open the gate to the boss's room. Go across the room and through the hallway, open the boss's door with the Boss Key and then get ready because you will be participated in a boss battle with..... _____ /____/ Evil Spirit from Beyond: Phantom Ganon Walk in the circular room and try to leave. The gate will be blocked and Link will look behind him. GANON! No... its a spirit of Ganondorf! It will ride on the horse into one of the portraits. Look around the room and you will find out that two portraits has Phantom Ganon riding on the horse, but which one is real? Wait for one of the two portraits and if the one you are looking that turns purple and Phantom Ganon rides out of it, shoot an arrow at to to inflict damage. Do this 2 more times and Phantom Ganon will get off the horse and fight you with himself. Remember to stay away from one of the corners while in this first version of this battle or you will be electrocuted. The 2nd half of the battle put you in a little volleyball game. Make sure you focus on him with the L-targetting technique. He will form a ball of energy and throw it at you. Hit it back at him with your sword and most of the time he will hit it back at you. Keep hitting the energy ball until it hits him and falls to the ground. Run up to him and hit him with your Master Sword continuously until he gets back up in the air again for another volleyball match. Do the same strategy you used on him in the first volleyball match until he dies. Grab the Heart Container after the battle and then step in the blue portal. You will be in the Chamber of Sages and meet... what?! Saria is the Sage of the Forest Temple? She will hand over the Forest Medallion to you. You will be teleported outside in front of the Great Deku Tree. Link will look at the leaves in the ground and a Deku Tree sprout springs out from the ground and tells you that you are a Hylian and not a Kokiri. _____ _______________________________________________________ /____/ Temple of Time \______________________________________________________\ After you left the Forest Temple, head back to Hyrule Castle and go back in the Temple of Time. He mentioned that Darunia went to the Fire Temple and try to save the Gorons before a dragon named Volvagia eat them. After the conversation, Mike (the Goron) will give you a heat-resistant tunic called the Goron Tunic! Two doors at the bottom floor of the Goron City opened up. After you walk through it, a Like Like will drop down in front of you. Take out your Fairy Bow and shoot 2 arrows at it to kill it instantly. A small chest appears, open it to find a Green rupee, or a Hylian Shield if you got sucked in by the Like-Like enemy. Go back to the previous room. DO NOT go up the stairs because you will run into a fire barrier if you take the stairs. Jump up on either railings on the side of the stairs and go to the upper part of the room. Look on the wall to the north and you'll see three statues, one of them is burning. Use Din's Fire here in front of the other two to light them both up at once and then go in the middle of the stairs and use the Din's Fire here to light up the two little torches, one on each sides. After you light up all 4 torches, the door to the west will be unbarred, go through that door. Once you walk in this room, you will find Darunia across the lava pit. Darunia tells you that he has to go fight the dragon, but he doesn't have that specific type of item to defeat the dragon. He wants you to go save his people, the Gorons, while he goes off and try to seal the dragon down. After the conversation, go to the right and jump on two platforms and then use the hookshot on the target to the north to drag yourself over on that ledge. Break open all of the crates you see, including the two on the ledges on the east wall. One of the crate hides an unlit torch by the way. Now, stand in between the torch on the hookshot target and the torch on the ledge and use Din's Fire here to light those two up. After you light both of them up, RUN over to the east side by jumping down and running across the lava floor and then jump up on the ledge and when you get on that ledge, immediately use Din's Fire to light up the torch on the ledge above. This will open the gate to a small chest, open it to find a small key inside. Head back to the previous room and use the small key on the door in the eastern side of the room below the stairs (remember to avoid the fire barrier). Kill the two Stalfos and the Keese in here to unbars the next door. To kill the Stalfos, push down on the L-button to focus on it and wait for the skeleton warrior to drop its guard and when it does, strike your sword at it! Go through the door that was barred. When you get in the next room, immediately press down the R-shoulder button to bring out your Hylian Shield. There are about 5 floor tiles in here that rises from the floor and spins towards you and by using the shield breaks the tile apart. After you break all 5 of the floor tiles, head over to the armored soldier sitting down in the back of the room. Strike with your sword at the armored soldier to wake him up. It will walk slowly towards you and if you get too close it will either swing its ax at you twice or slam it down on the ground. You can strike at it with your sword once or twice after when its attack. After about 8 strikes, it will lose its armor and move around a little faster. Use the same strategy you did on him until he die. The door to the west will be unbarred after you kill the Iron Knuckle, go through that door. After you go in, the door will be barred behind you and you will take place in a battle with the mini-boss, the Flare Dancer. This enemy isn't that hard if you use the hookshot on it before it performs a deadly move. The move that this Flare Dancer perform is to run (or slide) around the room with its sharp pointy limbs out and it can inflcit some damage to you. To defeat this fiery thing, press down on the L-shoulder button to focus on it and then take out your hookshot and shoot at the black part of the Flare Dancer to drag it out. The flame will distinguish and you need to run around the room and hit the little black enemy as many time as you can. It will take about 4 strikes from your sword before it jumps back in the fire pit and start the same thing as before. This enemy takes about 12 strikes from your sword for it to be defeated. A large chest appears on the platform where the mini-boss was, open it to find a Megaton Hammer! Leave the room through the south door. There is a rusted floor switch in this hallway. Equip the Megaton Hammer to one of your buttons and sue it on the floor switch here to unlock the gates nearby with the big chest and a Goron inside. Open the chest to find a Dungeon Map and then talk to the Goron to let him know that he is free to go. Go through the door at the other end of the hallway to be back in the first room. Go up the stairs by using the railings and then turn right at the top of the stairs. There is a totem pole, go up either on the left or the right side and us the Megaton Hammer on it 3 times to knock off all 3 pieces of the totem pole away. Behind it is a door, go through it... You will be in a large room, the floor is made out of lava. You need to go to the door on the northern side of the room. When you get there, go through the bottom unlocked door. In this little hallway is a rusted floor switch, take out your Megaton Hammer and smash the rusted floor switch to open the gate in front of you. Talk to the Goron and tell him that he is safe to leave the temple. There is a Gold Skulltula behind him! Kill it and then grab the token it left behind. Go back to the previous room after you get the token. Back in the large room, you need to go all the way across the room to the south side of the room where you see a moving platform in front of a wall of fire. Get on that moving platform and then take out your hookshot. Look for a torch up on the ledge behind the wall of fire and you need to hit that torch with the hookshot to drag yourself over the fire and onto that ledge. If you succeed, bomb the weak wall you see back there to destroy it to reveal a door, go through it. You will see another Goron behind the gate in this little hallway, but there is no floor switch to step on. Why isn't one of the torches lighting? Use Din's Fire on the unlit torch and ah! this opens the gate with the Goron inside. Talk to him and then open the chest behind to find a small key inside. Go back to the previous room after you pick up the small key. Back in the large room, use Din's Fire on the unlit torch nearby and then go all the way back to the north side and you'll see two platforms in fromt of the ledge to the door on the north side. Stand on the northeastern platform to be LIFTED up in the air. Look to the right and you will see an alcove, jump off the platform and into the alcove. Are you ready for the hard part? Position yourself behind the little unlit torch in the alcove so that you are lined up with the unlit torch on the ledge in the north side of the room with the little unlit torch in the middle. Cast Din's Fire here to light up the little torch and then take out your Fairy Bow and shoot an arrow through the fire and hit the unlit torch on the ledge in the north side of the room. Simply back down to the floor level and take out your hookshot and use it on the hookshot target to drag yourself up on the ledge to the door you just unlocked. Once you walk in here, take out your shield immediately because there are 8 floor tiles that will come alive and try to inflict damage on you. After you destroy all 8 floor tiles with your shield, head over and stand in front of the fire barrier. Use the hookshot on the torch at the other side of the barrier to drag your over there with the chest. Open the chest to find the Boss Key inside. Take out your hookshot again and use it on the torch in the middle of the room and then go back out in the large room again. Go all the way to the eastern side of the room and use the small key on the unlocked door here to unlock the door and then go through it. When you get in here, slide down the plank and then climb up the left or right side of the fence. You need to get on the top of the fence and then jump down on the platform below with the elevating platform in the middle. Wait for the fire to extinguish and the block to come back down, but then again, wait for about 5 seconds before you can jump on the block to get up to the 2nd floor of this temple, go through the door up in 2nd floor. Head over to the southern side of the room and then jump up on the ledge, jump up on another ledge. On the ledge is an unlit torch, cast Din's Fire to light up the torch and a hookshot target will appear across the room. Simply jump across the gap and onto the ledge with the hookshot target and then climb up on the hookshot target to get up on the ledge above. A Lizalfos will drop down on you, defeat him and grab whatever item he left behind. Climb up the fence to the 3rd floor of the temple and then go through the door up there. You'll be in this maze room for a while. Go to the southern side of the room and take a good look at the map, you'll see two little rooms sticking out at the bottom of this room on the map... but you don't see them when walking around along the southern wall. That is because they are behind the wall that can be bombed down using a bomb. You'll see that the wall is very light in color, bomb those two walls (the barrier divides them) and one reveals a barred door and a blue switch and the other reveals a rusted floor switch. Hit the rusted floor switch with your Megaton Hammer and a lot of hookshot target will appear. Use the hookshot on one of the targets on the top part of the room and when you get up there, slowly walk towards to the northern side of the room. Get on the ledge that is in front of the crystal switch behind the gate. You will probably have to stand close on the edge of the ledge and then perform a Spin Slash (hold down B to charge it up and then let it go) and the energy from your Spin Slash will hit the switch and open the gate. Leave the ledge and jump over to the platform with a crack. Set a bomb on top of that to destroy the floor on top of the platform and then climb down the fence to 2nd floor. In this little corridor, break open the crates until you find a rusted floor switch. Take out your Megaton Hammer and smash the rusted floor switch with it to open the gates nearby. Open to chest to find a Compass inside. Head back to the fence and climb back to the top part of the 3rd floor with the maze. Head back to the ledge where you did a Spin Attack to trigger the switch to open the gate. Jump in that alcove with the crates and the little boxes on top of them. Break down the crates with the little boxes on top of them and then pick up one of the little boxes and carry it all the way over to the room with the blue switch in the southern part of this room and then place the box on the blue floor switch to keep the door unbarred. Go through that door. Walk down the little corridor and then step on the floor switch (you don't have to use the Megaton Hammer on this one). The gate with the Goron inside opens up, talk to the Goron and let him know that he is free to go. Open the small chest behind where the Goron was to find another small key. Go back to the previous room after you pick up the small key. Take out your hookshot and drag yourself on the top part of this room again. There is a locked door on the eastern wall and you need to jump around the top part of the room to get over there. Use the small key on the locked door and then go through it. Jump down on the fenced platform and walk over to the 3rd fenced platform. Turn and face east and look on the ledge, you should see some crates, jump up on that ledge and pick up the little box next to the crate. There is a blue switch off to the north (just drop down the ledge next to the crate) inside the fence. Set the little box on the blue floor switch to hold it down to light up the two torches in the middle of the room. Turn around and use the hookshot on the large crate on the ledge to get back up on that ledge. Head over to where you see the two torches and stand in between them. Look around on the east wall (on the castle-like wall) and you should see another torch and an unlit torch. Line yourself up with the unlit torch on the other side and the torch in the middle and then take out your Fairy Bow. Shoot an arrow through the fire and hit the unlit torch to light it up to unbars the next door. Jump up on that ledge and then go through the next door. Run down the corridor and then go through the door at the end. When you get in this room, look right and you should see a blue block nearby. Jump on that blue block and then jump on the platform with the face on it. Use the Megaton Hammer on the face to make it drop down. Drop down the hole and follow the platform all the way back to 1st floor. Jump over the gap and onto the ledge with the Boss Door. Prepare yourself with a Megaton Hammer, Master Sword and Fairy Bow with plenty of arrows and then go through the boss door using the Boss Key. _____ /____/ Subterranean Lava Dragon: Volvagia Jump on the platform and then jump on the ground with 9 lava pits on it. The block will disappear behind you and there is no other way out, leaving you to fight with.... Volvagia. Wait for Volvagia to stick its head out of the ground and go to where Volvagia is and use your Megaton Hammer to smash its head. The lava dragon will roar in pain and stunned for a while. Use your Master Sword and slash at the head with it to inflict damage. The dragon will crawl back in the lava pit and fly out of the pit. While its flying, it will breath out a stream of fire. You can press down on the L-shoulder button to focus on it and shoot arrows at it but most of the time you will miss. Volvagia will fly back in the hole and play another mole hitting game. Wait until you see Volvagia's head sticking out of the ground and then hit his head with the Megaton Hammer again. While he is stunned, take another slash and this time, he will fly way up high in the air and while he is that high in the air, he will drop rockss on you. If you see a large shadow below Link's feet, roll or move out of the way before it hits you. You can also use your shield but you'll have to focus on the dragon this way to have your shield facing upward to block yourself if you don't want to run around. Volvagia will dive back into its hole and do the same strategy you did before 2 more times or until he die. Don't forget to pick up the Heart Container it left behind and then step in the blue portal. You will be back in the Chamber of Sages and you will find out that Darunia is the Sage of Fire. After the conversation, you will be back in Death Mountain Crater. _____ ________________________________________________ /____/ Death Mountain Crater \_______________________________________________\ Go left and run across the broken bridge and then use the hookshot on the other piece of bridge you drag yourself over the gap. DON'T leave the crater, there is a small bridge to the left of the exit, run across it and use the Megaton Hammer on the two boulders blocking a cave. After you destroy the two boulders, proceed into the cave. You will be in another Great Fairy Fountain. Play Zelda's Lullaby with the ocarina and a Great Fairy appears. She will enhance your magic power, doubling the size of your magic meter! Wow! Leave the Great Fairy Fountain and then destroy the boulder to the right. Jump down to the ledge to the right and there should be a ladder, climb up on it. Now...slowly walk off the ledge and you will be on a wall that is climbable. There is an alove in the wall that you can climb down to and you will see a Piece of Heart, grab it! Climb back up and exit the crater via one of the two exits.
