This will cover all the characters found in Sparring Mode, their stats, descriptions of their moves, and good strategies for them. This is my 3rd FAQ and this may end up being the longest. I will try my best to provide the most information I can if possible. Contributions are also welcome. If you have character strategies or you have information on a character such as background informartion, I will gladly accept it. Please do not send me things that are already in the FAQ, this would gladly help me instead of looking through emails with dozens of the same information because I use a dial-up connection and it can do moderate searching. So please, no BIG emails. I will surely give you credit for whatever you can give me. >_> Also, you can email me if you need any help ( You probably won't you smart person you! ) you are free to email me and you may be able to contact me on Yahoo Messenger. I use AIM, but I will be getting a new acount because I am tired of my old one, so I won't post it. Enjoy reading. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Vers] December 6, 2004 : Started the FAQ. YEAH! I got my new keyboard and I could start on it as soon as possible. Version: .1 December 7, 2004: Added a few more characters, a bit more information, another section, and I'm working on more information for some of the X-Men characters. There may be some formatting erros, but I'm Working on that. Version: .2 December 12, 2004: I got a few new teams added. I'm working on more character stuff. Fixed formatting errors. >_>; I also changed my rating system to an out of 10. I seemed to have gotten a lot done. A lot of crap characters! You are able to play as MOST of the characters in the game including the bosses such as Mystique, Marrow, Pyro, ect. You must have played at least some of the stry mode to have a few characters unlocked. Mode of play goes like this, You pick UP TO 4 characters from the broad list of characters as your challengers. You then pick up to 4 champions. You have to remember that you are the challener NOT the champion. The champions have to be beaten 5 times each. For each added amount of champions, you are given 1 min. You get a maximum of 4 min. if you pick 4 champions. If you defeat all the champions, you get "Credits" which are you "Highscores" and can be viewed in the high scores section. Note!!: The champions are computer controlled and any challengers that are not being played with are computer controlled. You can unlock every character in the game FOR Sparring MODE after you have beaten the game once. Will you explain credits? Credits go like this, the more champions you have, the more credits you get. This does not mean you can pick up a super powerful character such as Magneto and beat on 4 different GRSO Soldiers! Your credits go up for the stronger the Champions and the weaker the Challengers. Will you give me an Example? Challengers: Mystique Sabretooth Magneto Pyro Champions: GRSO Soldier Astral Shade Sentinel Storm Credits: 181 This would be a good Challenge and with a nice amount of credits, but remember, the more credit you want to earn, the harder the challenge. =) Up to 4 players can play Sparring Mode with you! Just select the characters each person wants to use and pick the Champions and you're ready! Things to remember: - Once you lose all health that's it! Select another available character or watch your friends play! Your character can't be revived! - Select a character you an actually play with! - Try using different styles! - Be sure to have mastered at least 2 characters in combat, and maybe a few combos! - Be sure to know your damage types, too. This could mean death for your character! - It's just a game! - Character shields affect only one person, and that is the person who used it. - You get a Leadership Bonus with Cyclops and Storm making them a good team!! - Hiding behind Sentinels is a GOOD thing. - THE CHAMPIONS GET MORE HEALTH. YOU GET LESS HEALTH AS A CHALLENGER. THIS MAKES CHARACTERS LIKE JUGGERNAUT SEEM LIKE CRAP. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Cont] Control Stick: Move you character / Make Selection Start/Pause: Pause the game / Start the Challenge A: Confirm Selection / Weak Melee Attack / Add Challenger B: Cancel Selection / Go back / Strong Melee Attack X: Add Champion / Pick up furniture, ect./ Throw Y: Jump/ Press twice to Double Jump or Fly, Only some characters can do it! These are usually more powerful than your melee attacks. They drain your MP, Mutant Power, bar. This is under your health bar, the red bar. It is refilled every and depending on how much Power you Mutant Power Attack uses, this may take a while to fill up. To use a Mutant Power Ability, Press and Hold The R button, then 4 circles will pop up with wither a picture or a number. It looks like this: O O O O Excuse my art. This is my first time trying. Anyway, you are able to press the corresponding button to use the power. The are the ways the powers are listed: O Mutant Power 4 Mutant Power 2 O O Mutant Power 3 Mutant Power 1 O They are activated with the corresponding buttons: Mutant Power 1: R+A Mutant Power 2: R+B Mutant Power 3: R+X Mutant Power 4: R+Y You must also remember that some character haves on 2 or 3 Mutant Powers and this may limit their moveset. Try using these Sparingly unless the move you're using costs little and is very effective. Example: Sentinel Weapons Platform, Magneto, Storm The rate at which your character uses MP, depends totally on the character. Some characters can use a lot of MP doing certain attacks, some can use a moderate amount, and some use little to none. Some characters have melee abilities, but some have attacks so slow, you can't conbo. The Sentinels have absolutely no combos, but they can melee. Remember, try balancing out your melee users and you MP users. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Char] I can now start on the characters and their descriptions, ect. I will go down the list in order because, I will not be choicy on which to do first. This is a pretty long list and it could take a while to finish. I will try to do as much as possible. What list? The list of characters avaiable in Danger Room starting with Beast and ending with Toad. So you may have to wait a while before you favorite character is up and has some stuf about them. I will also try getting some background info on the characters if possible. You must remeber, I type at a moderate pace and this could take a while for it to get finished. So if you could contribute and strategies to characters, that would be helpful!. Mutant Power 2: Beast does a handdstand and spins his feet like a helicopter dealing a good amount of damage. Mutant Power 3: Beast enhances his stats to deal more damage/take less damage. Mutant Power 4: Beast calls down satellite beams to attack the opponent. * Double Jump!! Press jump twice!! Strategies: Beast is a great character to use because he has a good amount of foot speed and he can deal a nice amount of at the same time. He is used to be a tank, to run around and deal damage. He doesn't do well against enemies with physical resistance because it lessens his usefullness. His MP1 has a wild way of going and is most likely to miss, but the damage is good. His MP2 is a great move for when the computers try gannging on you because it has a nice range for a physical move. He doesn't present the most of a threat until you have totally gone psycho on your enemies. He has a beautiful amount of speed for a tank type of character, and his moves come out pretty fast because of it. If you are into just doing all types of melee and you consider yourself not going to use a lot of your MP, then be my guest to use Beast. you probably won't rely on you MPs to get the job done because his Hard Attacks do half the damage of his MP1 and there is no cost to using them. There are better melee characters though. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Colo] Name: Colossus Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Physical Weak Attack: 26+ Physical Damage Strong Attack: 47+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 1: 129+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 2: 27+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Seismic Smash Unknown Damage Speed Rating: Okay Power Rating: Excellent My Rating: 6.5 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Colossus brings forth a giant punch. Mutant Power 2: Colossus claps creating an arc of wind. Mutant Power 3: Increases damage done/ Decreases daage taken. Mutant Power 4: (Unsure) * Colossus Charge!! Press Jump button twice and hold! Strategies: Colossus doens't bring anything that Beast hasn't and he can do it better than Colossus can. His only good thing probably would be his ability to deal so much damage with his MP1. It takes up a lot of MP and he takes a sec. to perform the move before it is unleashes. He serves as, in my opinion, a second rate tank. He doesnt deal as much damage as Beast can, but he does have his hard to control Colossus charge to back up his speed rating. He serves more of a "Meat" purpose. To take massive amounts of damage for te team because he seems to have a lot of health for him to go on. His MP2 sucks, it has great crowd control, but the MP it costs and damage isn't worth it.All and all, he serves as an average character, but if you can use him well, do so and wreck the place. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Cycl] Name: Cyclops Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Physical Weak Attack: 9 Strong Attack: 17 Mutant Power 1: 66+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 2: 10+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Unkown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Poor My Rating: 8.5 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Shoots an optic blast. Mutant Power 2: Wider version of Optic blast with less damage. Mutant Power 3: Increase damage given/Decrease damage taken. Mutant Power 4: Shoots a wide, powerful optic blast. Strategies: Cyclops can provide 2 types of damage, physical and energy! His physical damage is rather poor and his MP attacks are pretty powerful. His most useful ability is his MP1. It has a good amount of damage and is a quick move to use. The drawbacks to playing as Cyclops is that you may have to fight weak melee until your MP meter refills because his MP attacks take up a nicer amount of your Mp Meter. He can melee, but it's not that good. As you can see, his damage rating is below average in his melee department. So just run and his enemies from behin and use your optic attacks sparingly. They are slightly powerful, has a nice range, and are very tempting to abuse. He can't add energy damage to his punches and kicks which adds a drawback to his melee abilities. :( So just try to be an evasive Ranged Character and you will succeed my friend, you will succeed. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Emma] Name: Emma Frost Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Mental Weak Attack: 18+ Mental Damage Strong Attack: 29+ Mental Damage Mutant Power 1: No Damage; Confuses Mutant Power 2: No Damage; Makes them run in fear Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Uknown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Okay My Rating: 6 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Emma spins around creating an aura that confuses enemies. Short range. Mutant Power 2: Emma poses and creates an aura that makes enemies run in fear. Mutant Power 3: Increase damage given/Decrease damage taken. Mutant Power 4: Blows a kiss and skulls encircle Emma, that paralyze or confuse and enemy. Strategies: Emma is totally a support character. She doesn't help much at all. She is meant to be a melee character, but she is rather poor in doing that. Real tanks such as Beast and Colossus deal much more damage than this. Now her MP comes into hand. They are not offensive, but defensive. Her MP1 Power makes enemies sit in place so you can deal damage to them. That is a plus, but her MP2 move is kind of useless. It makes enemies run in fear, but provides no damage and when you try to attack them, they'll be running. I only suggest using her if you need to keep an opponent in place so you can quickly destroy them. Her MP3 ability needs to be on every chance you get. It takes a good bit of your MP meter to enable this little doo-hicky. She serves as an okay melee character that can probably take out weaker enemies blike GRSO soldiers and such. Like Cyclops, try being and Evasive Melee character instead of a straight up tank. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Gamb] Name: Gambit Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Energy Weak Attack: 13+ Energy Damage Strong Attack: 23+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 1: 39 Energy Damage Mutant Power 2: 18+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Unknown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Okay My Rating: 7.5 / 10 Damage Resistance:None Mutant Power 1: Gambit throws 3 cards. Be up close for most damage. Mutant Power 2: Gambit jumps up and slams his staff to the ground, creating a shockwave. Mutant Power 3: Increase damage given/Decrease damage taken. Mutant Power 4: Gambit bends over and shoots 52 cards at all enemies. Strategies: Gambit totally does melee and range well. He can do a good amount of melee for himself. It' doesn't do the most damage and it's moderately effective when his MP meter is depleted. His MP1 is a great attack when used up close. Far away, it's a useless move that shouldn't be used under any circumstances. His MP2 is somewhat like Jean's Telikinetic Scream only because of the shock wave. It is less powerful and comes with no added abilities, but it's still a neat attack. He serves as an average character and should be used in up front battles because of his MP1. His MP3 is a neat move to use when you're and less than 50% health because it will add to the damage you give so you can kill as many enemies as possible before you die. Try to be ranged melee fighter, then you can score a lot of damage. I also have noticed that he tends to do more damage with his staff melee attacks rather than his punches and kicks. There is a better chance of you using his staff when you use his B attacks. I remember from story mode, his attacks do more damage when he uses his staff. Gambit also has another trick up his sleeve, Overload. he can add energy damage to the abojects such as the furniture in the Mansion Training Area. These act as grenades and will deal a moderate of amount of damage. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [IceM] Name: IceMan Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Energy Weak Attack: 16+ Energy Damage Strong Attack: 26+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 1: No damage; Slows Mutant Power 2: 30+ Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Freeze Frame Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Okay My Rating: 9 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: IceMan shoots a beam of ice which slows enemies. Mutant Power 2: Ice Man throws 3 ice spikes at the opponent. Mutant Power 3: Increases damage given/ Decreases damage taken Mutant Power 4: Iceman freezes and/or slows all enemies and damages them. * Ice Skating: Press jump twice and hold. Strategies: I'm not being byassed, but IceMan is a great character to use for any situation. He can fill in any part of a team becauseof his abilities. His attacks are OKAY, but not all that good. His most known thing to do is MP1 ability. This totally slows the enemy down so you can get a lot of hit in on the opponent. This is a totally devistating effect, but not as effective as Emma Frost's Confuse move. This makes him a great character to assist Sentinels so they can hit opponents much easier. You'll love his MP2 move because, when he fight up close, this is a great move to use. It totally will destroy your opponents. Then you have his MP3 ability. This turns him into a deadly tank and he can deal much, much more damage. As you can see he plays range, support, melee, and tank, and he fills in for almost any spot on any team. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Jubi] Name: Jubilee Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Physical Weak Attack: 9+ Physical Damage Strong Attack: 20+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 1: 32+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 2: None; Confuses Mutant Power 3: Decreases enemy damage given. Mutant Power 4: Unknown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Poor My Rating: 7 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Throws 3 energy globules. Mutant Power 2: Creates a flash which confuses enemies. Mutant Power 3: Decreases enemy damage given. Mutant Power 4: Makes beautiful fireworks an damages everyone. Strategies: Jubilee is totally support. Her melee skill are crappy and she serves to be in the background, throwing using MP1 and MP2. Her MP1 is the same as Gambit's and Iceman's. She is a mix of Emma Frost and Cyclops together. She uses a good amount of her MP meter like Cyclops, her melee skills are that of Cyclops, and she has Emma's Confuse. She does do a bit better with her confuse move because she can stand close and launch about 2 MP1's and have done a nice amount of damage. She needs to stand still and be on the defensive because her melee is vey poor and she only needs to be used when someone attacks her, and using her MP3 when she has enough MP to spare. She is a good character once you can learn how to be on the defensive side of things. Like Cyclops, be an Evasive Range/Support character. This will make you a useful asset to your team. Jubilee is devastating in the hands of someone who can save MP and be a sneaky attacker at the same time. Jubilee can also add energy damage to objects just like Gambit's Overload ability. Hers is called Detonation, but they do the same things. This means that she can add energy damage to an object and it will explode in a few seconds. You can tell when an object is charged because it will have sparks coming from it. The explosion won't hurt you, but if she's the Champion and she Detonates and object, you'll take damage. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Magm] Name: Magma Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Energy Weak Attack: 18+ Energy Damage Strong Attack: 29+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 1: 28+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 2: 53+ Energy Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Unknown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Good My Rating: 8.5 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Throws 3 lava balls. Mutant Power 2: Makes lava rise from the ground. Mutant Power 3: Increase damage taken/Decrease damage given Mutant Power 4: Makes a volcano erupt and cause damage. * Magma Skating: Press Jump twice and hold. Strategies: Magma is relatively close to Iceman in her usefullness. She does a nice amount of damage and she can do even more when she is in her magma form. She doesn't have the power of Colossus or Beast, but she does bring the game for having the ability to play different roles. Her abilities are what makes her stand out from the other X-Men because her MP2 is soooooo devastating. Her MP1 is just another 3 projectile type attack that does more damage when you are up close. Her MP2 is where she really shines. It makes lava rise from the ground sending opponents skyward and doing a nice amount of damage. This is one of those attacks thats breaks up enemies that are guarding a certain target such as a Sentinel guarding a bomb throwing Mystique. She comes in handy with her MP3 because it increases her usefullness and makes her a great character to use for almost any situation. She also has her Lava Skating Ability to get her butt out of tough situations. You'll probably be relying more on her melee skills rather than all her other skills. She deserves a lot of credit when Iceman is dead and you really need that supportive character than can deal more damage than Jubilee. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Jean] Name: Jean Grey Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Mental Weak Attack: 36+ Mental Damage Strong Attack: 47+ Mental Damage Mutant Power 1: Depends on knockback damage. Mutant Power 2: 32+ Mental Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Unknown damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Good My Rating: 9.5 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Uses telikinesis to move enemies/objects. Mutant Power 2: Creates a psychic shockwave that slows and cripples enemies. Mutant Power 3: Increase damage given/ Decrease damage taken Mutant Power 4: Uses the Phoenix to deal mental damage. * Fly: Press jump twice. X to go higher; Y to go lower Strategies: When I say great, I mean great. Jean does an awsome amount of melee damage for her size. She has all the assests to make you squick. She can fly which is an awesome advantage on her enemies. Her MP1 allows you to fling most enemies and objects anyway you want to, dealing a great amount of damage. Her MP2 is the frosting on the cake, she is able to control how many enemies are attacking her by sending them back and giving them a nice amount of damage at the same time. It will also slow some enemies down and lower their some of their stats. It's not as good as Iceman's freeze ability, but with the minus to the enemies stats, it will totally make you feel like you are the Queen of what you are doing. her shiled helps protect her from big melee attacks and helps aid her in dealing damage. Jean just won' stop amazing you because she plays melee/support/range. Her best would be range and her worst would be melee, but either way you play her will definitely help in dangerous situations. Jean has a moderate amount oh MP so you have to remember that tidbit of information, too. She has moderate amount of HP and she doesn't NEED to be a physical character. You can launch MP1 from a distand and fling opponents into walls if you want to. MP2 covers a good amount of are and it does a good amount of damage. You'll probably be using Jean on all of your teams because she has such a great amount of possibilities such as Melee, Support, Range, and even Evasive Range. She can fly so that makes her a great character for evasive play. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Nigh] Name: Nightcrawler Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Physical Weak Attack: 7+ Physical Damage Strong Attack: 17+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 1: 14+ Physical Damage Mutant Power 2: 51+ Phsyical Damage (Added all damage) Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Uknown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: OKAY My Rating: 9.5 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Teleports a distance and if near an enemy, attacks. Mutant Power 2: Teleports to 3 different areas striking. Mutant Power 3: Becomes nearly invisible and decreases damage taken. Mutant Power 4: Teleports arund the room striking all enemies. * Double Jump: Press Jump Button Twice Strategies: Nightcrawler comes as a strange tank character. He can take a lot of damage, yet he sems to be able to endlessly teleport around everywhere. He does have a limit to his abilities though, he can only do it if he has enough MP in his meter. His MP1 has wild control and make take you anywhere and the damage isn't all that great to begin with. His MP2 is where he shines, he can teleport everywhere and destroy enemies. This is also flawed. Enemies move and he may be striking at nowhere and he then loses MP. Also, to get the maximum on damage, he has to hit the same target to make it all up. He can't melee very wel as you can see, his is a bit worse than Cyclops and Jubilee's. Nightcrawler is a very durable character and he needs to be played where he can evade many attacks and deal damage at the same time which is kind of hard to do. He also needs to try and keep his meter up just in case he needs to use his MP3 and take less damage. I don't think the AI notices you when you have used MP3 and you can strike them until they fall. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Psyl] Name: Psylocke Level: 20 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Mental Weak Attack: 16+ Mental Damage Strong Attack: 28+ Mentl Damage Mutant Power 1: 43+ Mental Damage Mutant Power 2: 85+ Mental Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Unknown Damage Speed Rating: Good Power Rating: Good My Rating: 8 / 10 Damage Resistance: None Mutant Power 1: Psyclocke performs a quick slash. Mutant Power 2: Throws 3 mental bolts. Mutant Power 3: Increase damage given/Decrease damage taken Mutant Power 4: Uknown Strategies: Psylocke comes prepared in this game with enough tricks up her sleeve to make you scream. She is melee mental character who doesn't play when it coms to fighting. She can fight as an up front character because she has enough power to do that. Her MP1 will assist her in slaughtering her enemies until they are grinded into a pulp. It is a powerful moves that keeps enemies off balance. Her Psychic Bolts will b you main accessory for slaying evil. Up close, they can kill most non-mental resistant characters because Psylocke is powerful like that. She stays alive fo a long time and when she is teamed up with an full Sentinel team, woah, she's close to unstoppable. This is a very bad thing because you can only land one blow at a time and you won't do very much damage in the mean time. You move pretty slowly anyway so what difference would it make if you move and attack slowly? A big one. His MP1 is the only thing going for him. It takes a second to come out, but it stuns. Then yet, the damage isn't no where near worth it and you won't be doing anything. Your MP2 is a your death. You take 3 seconds to launch it. This means the AI can punch you can kill you, or Jean tosses you into a wall ending your life. The are is wide and big, but the damage sucks. This is a big change. You can perform all combos, not the ones like TK Lightning, like A+A+A, B+B+A+A, and such. He does have an advantage over most enemies and he has a nice amount of health and speed and he doesn't exactly speak menatl character. He has one mental damaging attack, and it comes out slolwy. It stuns, so that's a plus :/ Any way it goes, he hasn't changed from his counter part and he is average as a fighter. He is a melee character. Nothing else, not even support. Look at Rogue's MP1. It's strong. You'll be better off using your punches and kicks. I suggest you only use his MP2 when a lot enemies are surrounding you. This will knock them back far enough for you to pull off a enough damage to send them to at least half health. Unlike all the other Acolytes, he doesn't have a stun move unless you use a stunning combo. When you talk about his MP3, then you are rich in defense. This shield lasts a good while and you can inflict a bit more damage to all your opponents. I suggest using this from the beginning of the match and then puching and kicking your enemies. By the time their done, you MP Meter should be filled again and you can shiled yourself. Lather, rinse, repeat. Just remeber, inflict as much damage as possible before you die. Strategies: Why did you give him an OKAY in power when you have poor if it is below 10? I say this because Avalanche has power in his MP moves. He can perform all combos like the X-Men. His melee is medicocre at best and you need only to keep performing his MP moves. What if I run out of MP? Some may ask this, the answer is, Avalanche uses close to no MP with his attacks, which means you can spam ALL of his moves. Even his MP4 move! The strategy for him is to TOTALLY cheesy. All you have to do is perform his MP3. This will hold opponents in a cage. Now what you need to do is keep launching his MP1's aat the enemy. You can get about 3 of these in. When they break out of you cage, just put them back in it and keep attacking the opponent with this cheese motive. Avalanche is a Range/Support character. Kind of like Jubilee, but he's better. To be ranged, do the method of MP3, them keep using your MP1's. To be support, try to stay on the defensive side of things and keep incasing enemies in you cage. Have your allies attack him. He is too good when he is teamed up with melee characters with Energy and Mental Damage. Jean and Storm are great partners for him. Just encase them in a cage, have Jean keep using her MP2, Storm using MP1, and you using your MP1. This is totally cheesy, but hey, teamwork helps a lot! Just be careful in using his MP2, its not very damaging and range is limited, so use it sparingly. His MP4 is crappy, he takes a while for it to come out because he says "Quake!" and then launches the attack. He is totally a tank, he is to take damage instead of dealing it because he deals it sooooo poorly. Yet and still, Sentinels have a lot of HP and they are just as slow, but they can actually attack! This i what Blob is, a toned down Sentinel. Oh, don't forget, he can't jump either. He runs like any other character and that's a good thing. Why is his speed so low? HE CAN'T ATTACK! his attacks come out soooo slowly. You can only punch once, and you have to wait about 2 seconds before the animation of the punch ends. His Strong attack is crap, he puhes you with his stomache! For a big stomache, it's surely a short range attack. Now lets get to his MP moves. They are crap too. They use a LOT of MP and they take a long time to come out. When he uses them, he takes a while to get off his fat butt and then you have a short range for shockwave that protrudes from the impact. Blob is a meaty tank, take damage for the team and attack NONE whatsoever. I suggest you use him to stand in front of Mystique and she launches bombs and shots her guns from behind him. This only applies to his MP1. It is great for weaking Sentinels. Just find a good place to hide and fire away. The damage adds up in seconds. 3 shots in about 2 seconds gives 30 damage. Evasive Range is your better choice because you are hit less and you deal a lot of damage. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Jugg] Name: Juggernaut Level: 5 Punch/Kick Damage Type: Physical Weak Attack: 12 Strong Attack: 12 Mutant Power 1: 20 Physical Damage Mutant Power 2: 20 Physical Damage Mutant Power 3: Defensive Ability Mutant Power 4: Doesn't have one Speed Rating: BAD!! Power Rating: BAD!! My Rating: 2.5 / 10 Damage Resistance: Mental Mutant Power 1: Juggernaut performs a giant punch. Mutant Power 2: Juggernaut pounds the ground. Mutant Power 3: Juggernaut puts up a shield to raise defense. Strategy: Jesus help us. Juggernaut is a terrible character. I don't care what you say. Blob is better than this piece of shirt. Yes I meant shirt. When you try melee with him, he automatically performs a SUPER SLOW COMBO!! His shield is absolutely no help and his MP attacks are crap. He serves no purpose. He doesn't even deserve to be something to beat on because he has LITTLE health. The champion Juggernaut play EXTREMELY well and has a LOT of health to play around with. >_>; If you REALLY REALLY want to use him, them just find something for him to do. =( ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [CrTe] I will now bring up some great teams that you can use and strategies onh how to use them. You are very much welcome to send in your teams WITH strategies. This section will start out pretty small but, it will increase in size because there are a lot of team possibilites. You don't actually have to have 4 charactgers in your team. 2 or more will do. I will give you credit for your team, I won't rate them unless you ask me to. =) Send them in. Oh yeah, bring in a creative team name too! Use this as your key: Team Name: Characters: Character Roles: Strategy: Contributed by: ---- Team Name: Brotherhood Characters: Mystique Toad Avalanche Brother Hood Marauder Character Roles: Mystique - Evasive Range Toad - Evasive Tank Avalanche - Support Brotherhood Marauder - Tank Strategy: Use Toads very high jumping ability to get around and use your Tongue Lash to keep enemies at bay. Have Mystique run around punching and kicking if possible, or have using her Guns at all times and throw bombs when she is low on HP. Avalanche will provide a great asset to your team! Keep using your Encasing Cage Ability and launch you Earthquake Fissures. Use the Brotherhood Marauder as your melee tank to keep attacking. Watch out for physical resistant enemies, you're in trouble then. --- Team Name: ummm None really Characters: Iceman, Storm, Wolverine, Jean (Beast rotates in) Character roles: Iceman: i use him for partially range and partially melee cuz once you have cold smash the man is unstoppable. Storm: I mainly use her for her leadership but her chain lightning is really useful. Wolverine: He's good for clearing a path and very reliable because if you give him a minute he'll heal up. Jean: As funny as it sounds Jean is my ace in the hole. Whenever I dont feel lyk fighting or I'm getting my butt kicked, I just lift them person im fighting up and drop them off a bridge or some kind of platform. Beast: I use him whenever i need a little extra force rather than range or if someone dies. My strategy is usually to go in and either beat down or freeze with Iceman and then either Brutal Slash or Chain Lightning once the enemy is frozen. Contributed by: Iceman817 --- Team Name: Brutal Force Characters: Wolverine, Colossus, Cyclops, Magma Character Roles: Wolverine: melee fighter and physical mutant powers. brutal slash, healing factor, and feral rage are key skills Colossus: physical mutant powers. power smash and steel skin are key Magma: melee fighter. fiery form, burning rage, magma might are key Cyclops: energy damage and support. leadership, optic blast, and tactics are key Strategy: have Cyke use tactics, then beat on people. Iceman can replace Magma with cold smash and freeze blast for more support if needed. Contributed by: homermakerguy --- Team Name: Healthy Shields Characters: Blob, Sentinel, Magneto Character Roles: Blob: Meat Tank, Guard Mageneto at ALL times Sentinel: Attack EVERYONE who attacks Mageneto Mageneto: Destroy everyone in your path Strategy: As above, use Blob as your shield to hide from attacks because he has a nice amount of health for a Challenger. Sentinel plays more of a you attack me while Magneto attacks you and we both damage an kill you. OKAY, usually a compute opponent will try and tke the Sentinel down, so use missiles to keep them at bay. Magneto has a poor movement ability, so when you have the chance, attack anyone before the Sentinel heads near you. Contributed by: Me --- Team Name: Energy Dealers Characters: Cyclops, Storm, Havok, Avalanche Character Roles: Cyclops: Range; Melee Storm: Range Havok: Evasive Range Avalanche: Melee; Support Strategy: With this team, you can strike from any distance that you want to. I suggest you have Avalanche stick with his Support by using his cage ability and keep using your MP1. This makes him a great character to use for this team. Storm can launch Lighting from anywhere and fly away if the batte gets toorough. Havok can play anyway he wants. Cyclops is another ranged fighter. Storm and Cyclop's Leadership abilities help with the combos the two can score together. --- ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [Cont] Email: digimunstar34@yahoo.com Yahoo Im: digimunstar34 GameFaqs Accout Name: Kwinmaster - Please help Contribute. ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ ~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~~-+~ [End] This has come to close.
