Conclusion ============================================================================== Introduction ============================================================================== A. Foreword ----------- Welcome. This is my first FAQ for a GBA game. Barbie Groovy Games is a cool game. You can play nine games versus the CPU, or a human. It's really easy, but since you're reading about it here, that means you want help on a game. The game itself has explanations for each game, and the games themselves are very easy to understand. Anyway, if you have an addition or a comment, then send it to my e-mail. Have a good time playing Barbie Groovy Games! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ B. Updates History ------------------ This is the first version of the FAQ. I might add more things. - Version 1.0 | 5/06/2003 The first version. - Version 1.5 | 8/09/2003 Added both IGN FAQs and Cheats.de in the "Web sites that can post this document" list. Also, I sent this version as an attachment to avoid what happened to version 1.0. No update for the How to Play section. ============================================================================== How to Play ============================================================================== Everything in this part was taken from the game itself. However, I did some additions and/or changes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A. D.J. Booth ------------- - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to choose a CD or CD case. Use the A button to flip over the selected CD or CD case. Jinx play - Use the A button to 'Jinx' an item. Help the DJ put away the CDs in their cases. Choose 1 CD and 1 case on each turn. If the pictures match, win 10 points. If they don't match, your friend takes a turn. The friend with the most points after all the CDs and cases are matched wins. Special Play - Wild, Jinx, or Mix. Wild - makes a match automatically and gives you another turn. If you choose a second wild item, you'll get an extra 20-point bonus. Jinx - match the 'Jinx' CD then choose a CD case. Whoever chooses the jinxed CD case later in the game loses the turn and 10 points. Mix - the rest of the CDs and cases will be mixed up. - My Comments: This game is very familiar to many people. Just guess and match. The game also needs memorizing besides the luck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ B. Tic-Tac-Toe -------------- - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to choose a square. Use the A button to place the butterfly or flower. Get 3 butterflies or flowers in a row to win the game. - My Comments: I'm sure everybody knows this game. It's Tic-Tac-Toe! It just needs intelligence. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ C. Four Scoops -------------- - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to move the ice cream scoop. Use the A button to drop the ice cream. Choose a flavor of ice cream and stack the scoops. The first player to get 4 in a row either up-down, left-right, or diagonally wins. - My Comments: I've seen many games look just like this one, but not with ice cream scoops :). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ D. Bubble Machine ----------------- - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to move the bubble pointer. Use the A button to shoot the bubbles. Player 1 - Pop the bubbles before they fill the screen. Use the Control Pad to point the bubble launcher. Match 3 of the same color bubbles and those bubbles will pop. Each bubble popped - 5 points. Special Play - Heart or Star Bubbles. Heart Bubbles - touch a falling heart with your bubble to win extra points. Small - 25, medium - 50, and large Hearts - 75. Star Bubbles - touch an orange star bubble and all the bubbles touching it will pop. Touch a purple Star Bubble and all the bubbles in that row will pop. - My Comments: What?!?! Bust-a-Move in a Barbie-style? Interesting... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ E. Checkers ----------- - How to Play: Step 1 - Use the Control Pad to choose a checker then use the A button to confirm the selection. Step 2 - Use the Control Pad to choose a square on the board then use the A button to place the checker. Move diagonally forward one square at a time across the board. Make all your friend's pieces are gone or when they have no empty square to land on. You must jump a piece if you can! Kings - If your checker reaches the other side of the board, it is 'crowned' and can move forward or backward. - My Comments: I'm not sure that I've known this game before, but I think it is a new game to me. It really needs intelligence. I think that it's the harddest game in Barbie Groovy Games. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ F. Daisy Derby -------------- - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to scroll through the letters of the alphabet. Use the A button to select a letter. Guess the letters in the secret word to make your horse move forward in the race. If you guess wrong, your friend's horse will move forward. The first horse to pass the finish line wins! - My Comments: This game's so silly. Horse riding and guessing the letters? How comes? Anyway, unlike Checkers, the previous game, I think that this one is the easiest. It's a real piece of cake! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ G. Groove and Move ------------------ - How to Play: Help SkipperU follow the lights on the screen by pressing the Control Pad and A or B buttons in time to the beat. You can earn 1-10 points for each move. Press the button as soon as you see the lights. Control Pad Up - Jump up. Control Pad Down - Point down. Control Pad Left - Dance left. Control Pad Right - Dance right. A Button - Special move. B Button - Special move. - My Comments: This game's my favourite. It needs a quick reaction, so it'll have much fun. And, I don't recommend playing this game in the Easy difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ H. Conga Line ------------- - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to move the line of dancers. Use the pink arrow to find the dancers and make the conga line grow longer. If you run into the walls or the rest of the conga line, your turn is over. The quicker you find the dancers, the more points you get. - My Comments: Now, Nokia's original Snake mini-game has a new opponent :). This game has ideas collected from similar games. Just try to be as quickly as you can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I. Gems and Jewels ------------------ - How to Play: Use the Control Pad to choose a square on the board. Use the Control Pad to choose a gem or jewel for your friend. Use the A button to place the gem or jewel on the board. Line up 4 of the same shape, color, size, or hollow or solid to win. Once you place your gem or jewel on the board you must choose one for your friend to place. Be careful not to give your friend the winning piece! - My Comments: This game is also new to me. However, I think that it was made up by combining some similar games to make a better one. It's just what I'm thinking. ============================================================================== Conclusion ============================================================================== Well, I think that it's over for now.
