Crazy Frog (aka the Annoying Thing) is never going to stop in my opinion hence why I've written up this FAQ. This Internet Sensation which started in 1997 turned music video into video game. This FAQ, among the basic things, will explains what's in the game and why in full detail. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2: Crazy Frog Background ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The whole Crazy Frog fanchrise started off with one small sound file which quickly grew popular. In 1997 with one sound effect by Daniel Malmedahl, who came up with the sound. It circulated around the internet which it appeared on Swedish television. It later was picked up by Erik Wernquist, who used the sound as the voice for this small creation of the Frog, which they named Crazy Frog, also known as the annoying thing. Of course, the Swedish make alot of popular video games such as the EA Battlefield series. This happens to be one mascot that a couple of Swedish developers have created almost out of spare time. Crazy Frog was developed and later, the ringtone company Jesper appoached Daniel and Erik and used the Crazy Frog as a marketing campaign to sell the sound effect ring tone in Europe, which became wildly popular and successful. This became popular and the Minisity of Sound (A nightclub in London and a major music label) hire out the designer and the team to make music video. These music videos were burn onto the CDs along with the music and sold at retailers across the country and was successful to have spawned that video games. You can view these video on Youtube! Crazy Frog just happens to be a mascot in video games now, well almost, he may not be the sonic or mario but it just happens to appear that way. Crazy Frog is never going to stop in my opinion as there's copies lying around hence why I've written up this FAQ, so you don't have to find it yourself or if you happened to pick it up and ask yourself, what on earth you were playing, then you'll know why, even If you just happened to import it from Europe. Yes, this just happens to be one exclusive title Europe has. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 About GBA Edition ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This version is unique, despite there being a PC, PS2 and Nintendo DS version, this version is totally different from the three, meanwhile the other three versions are actually based off the music video and added a few new additions when compared to this title. The characters are totally different in the other versions. This game was solely made for the GBA and only features The Annoying Thing sitting comfortablity in a go-kart! Everything else is just for the game, from the game rules to characters. So if you think this game has anything to do with Crazy Frog, there not much to do with Crazy Frog expect it just features him having fun. The reason I put this section before the walkthough because it's worth pointing out.s ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3: Controls ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the controls for the game: Acceleration: A Reverse: B Steer Left: Left Direction Button Steer Right: Right Direction Button Use item: R Button Pause: - Start/Select Option Selecting Options from the menu use the Direction Buttons ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4: Characters ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a list of characters which you have access to right from the start of the game. They will respawn over time. Collecting another box will replace the current pick up you are carrying. Shield, Grip, Speed Boosts which have there effects removed if you use another power up while those are in effect, while those are activate! You must complete the tournament mode to unlock all the tracks to be used in the other modes in the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.1: Tournament ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The tournament consists of three cups with four races per cup. All eight characters take part and you get points for places depending on where you finish, here's the points which you'll later find that some points don't really mean anything! 1st: 8 points 2nd: 7 points 3rd: 6 points 4th: 5 points 5th: 4 points 6th: 3 points 7th: 2 points 8th: 1 point and here's why they don't mean anything... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.1.1 Qualifying Ranking ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- During the tournament mode, every track has a place you must finish in order to complete to goto the next stage! To find this out, I've played each track and put myself in 8th place where the game would tell you which place you have to be in in order to complete the track before moving onto the next! What's the point thou? Even if the other characters lose, they are still seen in the other tracks in the cup and also they get points aswell which get carried onto the next round. Seriously, what's the point of that? Here's the qualifying places to advance to each round! Bronze Cup Track 1 - Qualifying rank: 4 Track 2 - Qualifying rank: 4 Track 3 - Qualifying rank: 3 Track 4 - Qualifying rank: 3 Sliver Cup Track 1 - Qualifying rank: 3 Track 2 - Qualifying rank: 3 Track 3 - Qualifying rank: 2 Track 4 - Qualifying rank: 2 Gold Cup Track 1 - Qualifying rank: 3 Track 2 - Qualifying rank: 2 Track 3 - Qualifying rank: 2 Track 4 - Qualifying rank: 1 You have to place first place during the final race. Even so, why does the screen offer a podium finish? Who knows! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.2: Checkpoint Rallye ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Checkpoint Rallye, is a mode where you have to aim for checkpoints during the race. The checkpoints are in a form of white discs, which are very easily to miss if you go off the track and this can help you lose the mode by running out of time as the white discs give you extra time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.3: Checkpoint Madness ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's like Checkpoint Rallye however the rest of the racers join in and attempt to attack you in anyway possible. This mode is way too easy thou, the other racers don't really do much, so you don't have much to really do! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.4: Last Man Standing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this mode, you have to pretty much do what the title says and that is to be the last man standing! You have to pick weapons up and use them on your rivals and not be taken out yourself. You are pretty much do whatever you like and drive in reverse if you wanted to! There a health bar on the top left of the screen which displays your health! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7: Tracks and Themes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There a total of 12 twelve tracks to race on in the game, split between three cups. Each truck in each cup has a theme. The game will feature the layout of each truck as you play. The tracks unlike the other versions of this game doesn't even have any names! There's all four themes and you find as you play the tracks! City - On a well layout tarmac road in a city. Forest Park - In a park, surrounded by greenland hills. City Suburb - I call it a surbub because the skyline is present the the track nature has grass and rough soil surrouding it. Desert - In a sandy desert somewhere, in the middle of some canyons The themes don't change, maybe they should and there should be an option for it because they're just different layout roads. Here's the themes for each track! Bronze Cup Track 1 - City Track 2 - Desert Track 3 - City Suburb Track 4 - Forest Park Sliver Cup Track 1 - Forest Park Track 2 - Desert Track 3 - City Track 4 - City Suburb Gold Cup Track 1 - City suburb Track 2 - Desert Track 3 - Forest Park Track 4 - City ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8: Highscore ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Highscore section is based on your fastest time of your average time in a tournament and not just about the points. If you have 29 points and have a fastest time then someone who has 32 points, you get 1st place on the leaderboard. The times can be erased at any time! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9: Epilogue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Worst game ever? This version of the game is unique enough and a bit of a surprise that this game doesn't have any bugs or flaws or whatever. It was interesting. If you want to read the other versions FAQ, look for them in the PS2, PC or Nintendo DS section of the website you are viewing on as it has different explainations on those versions! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.1: Author ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can email me at rcmotorboy@gmail.com.
