The only way you could spoil yourself while reading this guide is if you actually went out of your way to read ahead of where you are in the game, for example scrolling all the way past the guide somehow and landing on the script section clearly marked as spoilers. This is also my first FAQ. I think I'm doing pretty well. Here's the table of contents. Press Ctrl + F, highlight the section you want to warp to, press Ctrl + C, click on the search box, and press Ctrl + V. Internet Explorer users, tap the Enter key. Firefox users don't need to tap Enter. I'm not sure how other browsers work, but surely you've used the search function before, no? If you're stuck on a specific boss or stage, then type the boss / stage name into the search box instead. For example, "Moon 1", "Black", or "Seven Force". - - - - - Contents - - - - - 1: Updates / Version History 2: Introduction 3: Controls 4: Weapons 5: Objects 6: Walkthrough 7: Game Script 8: Credits - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1: Updates / Version History - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pending: - Manual extract 11/10/05 - Version 1.02. Changing site permissions again. No manual stuff, haven't bought the EU version yet...can't say I'll have it soon, either. Also, here's something rather important that has nothing to do with GSH, but rather the guide itself. I checked my junk e-mail box a few days ago and found some messages asking for hosting permission. They'd vanished shortly after I'd looked at them and had to get off the computer. No, I'm NOT joking. I can only assume other messages asking for hosting permission were sent before those, directed into the junk box, and purged before I saw them. Anyone who has asked for permission to host this file and has had no reply, feel free to ask again, because it's likely I didn't see it. I apologize for my tardiness. I seriously need to check my junk box more often... 01/10/05 - Version 1.01. It's 1am and it's 1up. 1up.com added to the hosting permissions. I hope the EU version gets a concrete release date soon... 31/10/05 - Version 1.00. Changed the labels of the sections to support the US version, added hard mode notes, did a small rewrite of little things, scrapped the Tips, Q&A, and Codes sections since they weren't much more than noise, and did a huge spellcheck. I had no idea I made so many typos and misspellings. You can expect a manual transcript of some sort{fluff free of course} and fixes to anything that's given names in the FAQ and have official names in the EU manual once my EU version is delivered. I might even change all the Homings to Chasers even though I've always called it Homing...despite Gunstar White{or was it Yellow?}'s words...oy. 29/10/05 - Version 0.991. Ridiculous number. Not released to public. Added strafing to the moves list thanks to Anthony K and changed credits section accordingly before I forget about it. Made a few typo fixes too. ...And put game script under Q&A. 27/10/05 - Version 0.99 Technically it's the 28th right now cos its 15 minutes past midnight in the UK, but I practically operate by the US timezones so meh. I spent most of the day noting down the game script for every character and difficulty as soon as I got the US version. That was an odd experience...but yeah, game script section all done. Woo. I consider this document complete now, bar its incompatibility with Hard mode. I'll get to that, probably. Anything else like codes or whatever will warrant a version higher than 1. 25/10/05 - Version 0.92. Did a huge linebreak and spellcheck operation throughout the entire document. I just happened to set the character width to eighty ONE without knowing, so GFAQs didn't accept it and at the time I didn't feel like running through the thing and correcting weird pseudo-paragraphs that would've popped up as a sideffect from reducing the width. Along the way, I found a few more typos and corrected them, too. "yuo ned"? Please. Oh, and I fixed some problems with the Moon 4 & 5 guides. I managed to jumble up two thirds of the Moon 5 guide into the wrong order...very glad I spotted that one. Sheesh. 25/10/05 - Version 0.91. I've beaten it with Red and Blue on Hard, and in turn updated the few sections of the FAQ mentioning Hard mode and the FAQ's compatibility with it. I also did some minor changes to the copyright, and site permissions. I'm about to submit it to GFAQs. The game is released in the US today...expect a game script update in a while, possibly some codes, and perhaps a Hard mode guide too. Oh, and maybe an update to the Q&A section. I hope so, it looks pretty bare at the moment. 24/10/05 - Version 0.90. Back into the mood, yay. Finished G-Arc walkthrough and am preparing to note down the script from the pending US version. Did a good amount of cleaning and completely reviewed the entire document. Also removed the remains of the old Moon 2 guide. 22/10/05 - Version 0.81. Cleaned a few little things, started the G-Arc walkthrough, but barely got anywhere. Lost the will to work on the thing so abandoned it. 21/10/05 - Version 0.80. Improved on the guides for the spots on Moon 4 that I finished yesterday, finished the rest of Moon 4 walkthrough, started and finished the Moon 5 walkthrough, and started the G-Arc guide. Yeah, I had to get up early again... 20/10/05 - Version 0.65. 5 days until US release. Better start working on this regularly again. Got halfway through the dice palace walkthrough today. Cleaned stuff up again, btw. :P 15/10/05 - Version 0.60. A few touch-ups, additions to the Q&A section, setup the Game Script section, and did the Moon 4 walkthrough up to the start of the dice palace. Hell no, I'm not doing all that and the entirety of the neo dice palace in one day, especially when I spent most of the day doing theme stuff for not one but TWO sites. 14/10/05 - Version 0.50. The chopper section of the Moon 2 walkthrough was clearly an unsatisfactory rush job and needed a revamp. I've marked the original text with - x - so you can see just how poor it was. Also finished the Moon 3 guide, once again cleaned stuff up, and added the pending Game Script and Q&A sections. This is going to be a full-blown FAQ / Walkthrough. 13/10/05 - Version 0.40. Added Moon 1 AND Moon 2 walkthroughs, started on Moon 3 walkthrough, corrected some typos, fixed a few errors, and again, 'cleaned some stuff up'. This is what happens when I'm forced to get out of bed early. 12/10/05 - Version 0.20. Now that I'm back into the swing of actually touching the FAQ, I've started on the walkthrough{finished Earth to be precise}, cleaned some stuff up, fiddled with some little things, and added an Objects section, which meant I had to re-number all the sections for the fifth time. >_> Also started experimenting with the HTML version. Oh, and I just created a Codes section. Nothing in it yet, though. 11/10/05 - Version 0.10. Haven't touched the FAQ in a while. Obtained my copy of the game and have been playing it very sparsely while focusing on my Japanese copy of Sonic Gems Collection. Corrected incorrect assumptions about the controls, added Weapons section, revamped Controls, Weapons, and Tips sections. Essentially deleted the skeleton of the Walkthrough section and set it out according to actual data. 06/10/05 - Version 0.02. Game has been released in Japan, but I haven't got my copy yet. Captured data from Gunstar Heroes and made boss sections based on further speculation from screenshots. 05/10/05 - Version 0.01. Beta stage. Added things about the controls based on speculation from screenshots and the official Japanese site. Uploaded on Lighthead.net for testing. 04/10/05 - Version 0.00. Alpha stage. Working on the bare bones of the thing before the game is released in Japan. - - - - - - - - 2: Introduction - - - - - - - - This game is the sequel to the well-loved, but not so well-known, Gunstar Heroes game for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. Like most Gunstar Heroes and / or Treasure fans, I could babble on about how great the game is. But, as you *may* have noticed, this is a Gunstar *Super* Heroes FAQ. So, enough about that. People who can remember playing Gunstar Heroes will get a few nostalgia trips, but won't have any true advantage. If you like a challenge, then go straight for Normal mode. People unfamiliar with Gunstar Heroes, even you masochists out there, are better off starting on Easy. Still, this is just advice. Do what you want. You could even start on Hard...but that's not recommended. At all. Note that all names for things in this guide are unofficial right now bar the names for the stages. - - - - - - 3: Controls - - - - - - Basic Controls: A: Jump B: Free Fire D-Pad: Movement / Aiming R: Fixed Fire L: Cycle through weapons Advanced Maneuvers: - Grounded - - - - - - Name: Strafing - - - - - Command: Hold R, aim, hold B - - - - - Use: Haven't bothered to try it out :P - - - - - - - - - - Name: Gun Star? - - - - - Command: Tap R twice, then hold - - - - - Use: On bosses. Red only. - - - - - Description: A strong, constant stream of cream-coloured stuff. It's basically Force / Force from Gunstar Heroes. - - - - - Use: It's Red's best all-around weapon, and pretty much the best weapon in the game. If you're not sure which weapon you should be using in a given situation, then use this. - - - - - Special: A stream of fireballs pour out. Each ball either does a filthy amount of damage, uses up a very small amount of the gauge, or both, because it keeps replenishing itself. Use whenever you're in a pinch, because it definitely lasts. Also blocks enemy projectiles. - - - - - - - - - - Name: Lightning. Blue only. - - - - - Description: Short blue beams. Looks and operates kinda like Lightning from Gunstar Heroes. - - - - - Use: Like with Red, overall, this is Blue's best weapon. Just keep in mind that it has more range than Fire and does a little more damage than Homing. Not quite as good as Force. - - - - - Special: A constant stream of blue fire that pushes the target backwards and blocks all incoming projectiles. Similar to Force special, but not as good. - - - - - - - - - - Name: Fire. - - - - - Description: Small projectiles that explode after travelling a short distance. Looks and operates a little like Fire / Force from Gunstar Heroes. - - - - - Use: When the thing you want to get rid of is right in your face. - - - - - Special: A huge explosion of fire that drains about half from the gauge. Good for bosses that have a large area to hit. - - - - - - - - - - Name: Homing. - - - - - Description: Green beams the size of the Lightning weapon streak out and home in on nearby targets. It acts a little like Homing / Lightning from Gunstar Heroes. - - - - - Use: When you have to be on the move and have no time to aim accurately. - - - - - Special: A long green stream of fire snakes around the screen, absorbing all enemy projectiles and damaging all targets it comes into contact with. This is, quite frankly, excellent. However, it drains a helluva lot from the gauge. - - - - - - - - - - - 5: Objects - - - - - - These are the various things you can interact with in the game that I've given my own names to. This section is for reference if you don't know what I'm on about primarily, but you might want to read it before reading the walkthrough anyway. _o_ It's...a man. Ya. Basic goons you see everywhere you go. | I refer to them as moronic masses, goons, and such. / \ _O_ Large enemies that roll around to attack. I will be referring ( ) to them as big guys, rollers or other fairly obvious names. / \ 0 These are elite soldiers you rarely see. I'm tempted to call / \\ them Phantoms after the Gunstar Heroes elite soldiers, but / \ I will settle for referring to them as Commandos. _ _ | These little things will fly around and fire at you. (_) I've decided to call them Pods. _ /___\ The symbol in the middle is supposed to be heart...not very | \_/ | good, I know. They restore health and are primarily dropped \ _ / by enemies. I will refer to them as Vitality Spheres. _ / \ These globes with green stars in their centres are found inside | * | containers and such. They give a boost to the special weapon bar. \ _ / I will be referring to them as Star Spheres. - - - - - - - - 6: Walkthrough - - - - - - - - This walkthrough now supports hard mode. Press Start, fiddle around in Options if you want, then go back and select either Red or Blue. Red and Blue are essentially the same gameplay wise, but Blue's game is slightly harder than Red's because Force > Lightning. Anyway, select your difficulty. As I said earlier, you're advised to start on Easy, but welcome to choose Normal. Don't expect this guide to be of much help if you choose Hard straight away. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Earth: Nakano Station - Sky Port - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ah, here we are - the first section of the stage. Hold B and move forward, and watch as you mow down the mindless masses of fodder for the first time. After a few seconds, you'll reach a big guy. If you keep firing, he'll keep flinching, rendering him unable to attack. You could just keep firing until his vitality is completely drained, or try out some gunstar actions on him {listed in the "Advanced Maneuvers" section of "3: Controls"}. Once he's been dispatched, he will drop a vitality sphere. Press Down + B to collect it quickly before it disappears, and then you have a choice. Either move on into the room that the go sign points at, or turn around and face the chopper that's appeared, along with it's infinite supply of soldiers. It will give you a good amount of points and could be a nice playground for trying out the gunstar attacks. Do what you will... The next room has you being viewed by a commando and some grunts. Just hold B and plow through. Next, go right and hop onto the lift. From here, either take accurate aim with Fixed Fire{R button}, or run around using Free Fire to dodge the beams from the pods while assaulting them. Homing is a good weapon for this situation. After the attack has ceased and the lift has stopped, go right into Spot B, the "Head Room". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Earth: 3YE Base - Head Quarters - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - You have two options here. The "Safe Action" and the "Gunstar's Action". The Safe Action: Wait for the big roly-poly dude to roll from offscreen to where you are and dispatch him. Then carefully walk forward and, from the cover of the Little box, fire diagonally upwards at the gunner, safely taking him out. Then jump over the box, move forward dispatching any goons in your way and safely take out the other gunner from below. The Gunstar's Action: Quickly jumpkick over the box, through any soldiers in your way, and destroy anything in your path in a frantic chain of uppercuts and kicks. Gunstar's Action was what I did when I first played the game, and though I looked cool, I got hit...which admittedly dampened the cool alot. Anyway, use whichever one you want. It's possible to do the Gunstar's Action without being hit. And yes, I did get Gunstar's Action from Gunstar Green. After that, gun your way up the stairs and waste no time whatsoever in dashing to the left and jumping up onto the box before the third human snorlax steamrollers over you. From there, you can use Fixed Fire to take him out for another vitality sphere if you want. Drop down and collect it quickly, then get back on the box and jump up. See the gap? Move accordingly while airborne to land on the next level. See the crates? You can destroy them for star and vitality spheres. Don't use the slide though... while the slide is a very good move, destroying a crate beneath another using the slide will cause you to be a sitting duck when the one above it succumbs to gravity. You'll actually take damage. After collecting the goodies from the crates on the left, go to the right, jump into the gap and destroy those crates too, pilfering the spheres along the way. Once you fall through the surface the crates themselves made, go right to initiate a cutscene. You may have to distance yourself from [plot element] a certain amount for the cutscene to deliver. After the scene, go right, and come out of Spot D... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Earth: 3YE Base - Rescue Yellow - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Continue right and prepare to be bombarded with pods again. Run around with the homing weapon on Free Fire or whatever you did at Spot B{the lift with the pods}. Once at the top, keep going right and find yourself in the monitored room again. From here, dash forward without delay and slide into the vehicle in your way before it uses it's wave attack no you. If you manage it, you'll get 3 free vitality spheres for your blitzing. If you got hit once, it's no matter. The vitality spheres will make up for it. Either way, after collecting them, continue right, plow through more soldiers, and find yourself back where you started...but with no Yellow. Where is she? Oh, there she is! And she's got a new friend! Say hi and prepare to die. - - - - - - - - - Boss: Golem thing - - - - - - - - - Vitality: 500 Difficulty: 1 Best Weapon: Gunstar Actions It's the first and easiest boss in the game. Good luck...you won't need it. He starts off by using Yellow as a weapon, and if you don't want a hard time, then he'll finish off using her as a weapon, too. Easy method: Jump ontop of Yellow's ship and stay there, attacking his head whenever he exposes it to you. Hard method: Constantly fire at his hands while avoiding Yellow's ship as he tries to smash you with it. With persistence, he will let go of the ship. Your reward? Intangible gratitude from Yellow, two vitality spheres, a star sphere, and a pissed off golem. He will now smash the ground with his fists and fire projectiles from his gob. Use Free Fire + Homing while avoiding said hazards and you're done. Walk into the tractor beam to finish the first stage. That was easy, wasn't it? It's a smooth start to a bumpy ride... From here, you get a choice. You can do the moons in any order you like. The walkthrough will cover them in order, though. If you ask me the only one worth skipping because of difficulty would be Moon 3, in favour of Moon 4. This was the same situation in Gunstar Heroes. Anyway, onto the blue gem. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 1: Sky Road - Air Drift - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So, here you are, riding Yellow's ship and defending it from attacks. Doesn't the thing have it's own guns? >_> It'd save us from this annoying section. Oh well. It starts with a chopper firing stuff at you. It's quite difficult to avoid them, but it's possible. You use left / right to rotate the ship. Don't worry about the ship getting hit, it takes no damage. Just worry about number one. Also, they only do one damage each, so don't be concerned if you find them impossible to avoid. Next comes a load of ships / robots / whatevertheyare. All you really need to do here is hold up, select homing, and fire. Seriously. The homing lasers destroy the robots and the projectiles they fire. Speaking of which, the 'missiles' or whatever the choppers shoot at you are also destructible, but by the time the they reach you, you only have to worry about them if they're right behind you, so... There's not much more help I can give for this section. It just repeats itself over and over. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 1: Cobit Village - Save the Cobits - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Soon, the ship will touch down. From here, move right, gunning down everything in your way. That's all there is to this section - but there are a few hazards around, so don't go completely berserk. Shortly after moving, you will come across a house. You can uppercut to the higher level and destroy the house at the top for a vitality sphere. Continue across the rooftops, destroying the second upper level house for another vitality sphere, while being careful of the pods and soldiers. You might be eager to jump to the next one, but be careful - there's a gunner on the floor. Either take him out or ignore him, then jump to the next rooftop for another vitality sphere. From here, jump across to the next roof for yet more health and another gunner on the lower floor. This is where the cycle ends and you jump off to find yourself on the ground. There's a gunner not too far away from you. Either rush him, which risks taking damage, or jump over him and then take him out. After that, suddenly... - - - - - - - - - - Boss: Papaya Dance - - - - - - - - - - Vitality: 500 Difficulty: 2 Best Weapon: Fire Asif the cobits and houses weren't nostalgic enough...uh, right. Kill. Well, all it does is spit little seeds which do little damage, and big seeds that turn out to be BOMBS. Yeah. The bombs are actually less harmful than the small seeds though, because you can slash them to turn them into health. Oh, and bugs pop up. They do nothing but crawl across the screen, eventually squishing you against the edge of the screen if you don't move. So, just shoot at the big..seed..thing..with the Fire gun. It has the least range so logically it does the most damage, right? If you can see an easy blind spot you can jot to to avoid getting struck by a small seed, then you're welcome to, but I'd just stay put and fire fire fire. If a big seed is dropping down near you, however, priority is given to using the sword on it. Keep this up and you will actually come out with a surplus of vitality once the fight is over. If a bug appears, either shoot at it for a while, slide it, kick it, or jump over it. Simple as. Once you've defeated this thing, there's actually another way to get health from it. See the lingering seed? Slash it. Again. And again. And again. Nifty, huh? When you're done, head right to the most annoying section of the stage. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 1: Cobit Village - Save the Chicks - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I dislike this section. The idea is, you move, the stage moves. Weird. The object is to pick the chicks up and place them into the 'EXIT' door you start at. The number and chick on your HUD represent how many chicks are currently unrescued. The orange..uh..bubbles protruding from the surface represent irritating monsters that squirm out and attack you. Doesn't sound too irritating? Well, get this: You lose all the chicks you have on you when you take damage. Annoying, it is. I'm not giving a step-by-step guide to this section. Too irritating. Just pick up small amounts of chicks at a time and go back to exit carefully. If you get stuck under a gap, wall-kick. You can get lost, but it's not very hard to find your own way. I did it on my own while severely pissed off. Oh, and as for the little enemies lying around at the start? Just snipe them with Homing. Once you're done with that... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 1: Pyramid - Waterfall Stairs - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ...You end up out here. From here on, the stage is a walk in the park. If you have more than 25 vitality left, you're fine so long as you don't get cocky. You have to make your way up the pyramid, which is as simple as it looks. Jump your way up, but don't rush. Keep an eye out for gunners overhead and shoot / uppercut them away. For extra fun, try to kick them right off the edge of the pyramid. Once you reach the summit... - - - - - - - - - Boss: Bravoo Man - - - - - - - - - Vitality: 400 Difficulty: 0 Best Weapon: Gunstar Actions I'm sorry, did I say the golem was the easiest boss? No no no, my friend, THIS is the easiest boss. It's entirely possible to dispatch it before it even gets a chance to reach one end of the screen, even on Hard mode. Just shoot it when it first appears, or if you're feeling brave, jumpkick / slide through it. I've never even seen the thing attack. I wonder if it HAS attacks... o_O ... I just checked. Even if you jump up and down inside of it, you take no damage at all. Jeez...I guess this was just yet another little piece of nostalgia for the Gunstar Heroes fans...It might have been appropriate if the next boss was actually challenging... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 1: Pyramid - Hunter's Attack - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - You can fire at the debris as you fall if you want, but all it does is give you points. It's not necessary. Once you land... - - - - - - - - Boss: Pink Crab - - - - - - - - Vitality: 500 Difficulty: 1 Best Weapon: Gunstar Actions Wait for an opportunity to slide under the walking claws, or wait for it to jump. Once you're outside of it's legs instead of under the cockpit, Jump up to said cockpit and attack with a flurry of kicks and slides. Done and dusted. In contrast to everything you've previously done in this game, you're now sitting right on top of a difficulty spike, and it's quite sharp. Hope you have a robust rear...if you ask me, the difficulty goes: Moon 3 > Moon 4 > > > Moon 2 > > > > > > Moon 1 > > Earth Sorry for the multiple greater than signs, but it represents the gap. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 2: Unblinking City - Lightning Strike - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - From the start, go forward. A is missiles, and B is gunfire. The missiles are used for targets on the ground / in the sea, and the gunfire is for airborne targets. Hold B and mash A at all times just in case, alright? You'll meet a small squadron of choppers first. Plow through. You'll see a group of...things on the ground next. They'll fire at you. However, if you just go forward right from the start and never stop, you'll skim past them without taking damage. Soon after, you'll see an orange structure off to the left. From here on was where I really started to hate this section, but I've discovered a very safe route that keeps you safe until the boss. Go right. right is right! Yeah. skim inbetween the two buildings, then go to the far right and keep going straight. Once you come out, you'll have to go left a bit to skim between the buildings. From here continue forward until you see water - here you STOP. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Hard mode notes ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This section is even more absurd on hard mode. The path detailed above is still the safest, but the turret underneath the chopper fires at you now. It will chop off anything from 20-70 vitality. Just rush through it as best you can. Keep right as usual. When you get near the boss, a ship may be waiting for you. Shift to the center and rush it just like you would the boss, and your vitality should stay the same. Speaking of the boss, the normal mode strategy works just as good for hard mode. It's just...harder. Yeah. Good luck. - - - - - - - - - Boss: Evil Thing - - - - - - - - - Vitality: 300 Difficulty: 5 Best Weapon: ... Position yourself in the center of the opening that leads to the wide open sea. From here, prepare yourself, then RUSH forward, mashing A. Anticipate the sub right infront of you's destruction and veer to the right just before it explodes and just in time to avoid being shot by it. Keep the missiles going and destroy the sub that's now infront of you, then zoom straight forward right into the center of the boss, not stopping for a nanosecond, constantly firing your guns, and destroying the sub right at the back with missile fire as you do. It's own side-lasers will protect you from the majority of the fire, though it wouldn't have protected you from the subs you just destroyed. Using this method, you can come out with a healthy 140 to 100 vitality depending on execution and luck. 70 to 1 for hard mode. >_> - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 2: Iron Ship - Fight in Storm - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Better. Yellow beams you out of the ship and you're assaulted by goons, ships, bombs and barrels. ACTION! At first, there's just a few goons to deal with, but they drop bombs almost immediately. Go all out here - in this situation, offense is the best defense. Take the ships out by uppercutting as soon as they appear and fire at the goons as soon as you see them. If you keep up the pace, you won't get hit. There's also the option of staying back and avoiding everything they do incase you get hit just before you kill the targets while blitzing, but I prefer blitzing. Once you're high enough {or jump up early}, You'll land on the ship. Move to the right, destroying all in your way. Once you get to the edge of the screen, 3 manned turrets will pop up. Quickly slide into the first two and collect the vitality spheres they drop. Wait for the third to pop up again and destroy it like you did the first two, picking the health up afterwards. Continue right, sliding your way through everything. It's just an effortless vitality fest here. It's asif it's making up for the sadistic chopper section. Anyway, when you get to the far end, you hear an evil laugh... - - - - - - - Boss: Orange - - - - - - - Vitality: 100 Difficulty: 5 Best Weapon: Personal If you're Blue, you're in luck. You can get a lot of free damage at the start if you have the Lightning, Blue's personal weapon. Just hold up and B as the ship flies up. This will reduce him to a measly 50-60 vitality. Once he starts dumping stuff on you, veer around to avoid it and jump on the ship - but be ready to jump again immediately, because he'll ram you. Shoot at him from a distance with your personal weapon and be prepared to jump at all times. If your personal weapon's special bar is half full or above that, try using it on him. It's great at pushing him off the edge, which does a good amount of damage. Above all, don't get in his face. He'll destroy you. Also, bear in mind that while flashing white, he's invulnerable, and that falling off the edge won't kill him if he's at low vitality - just reduce it to 1. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 3: Force Canyon - Running Fight - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hoo boy...This ain't easy. If you have alot of difficulty, consider trying for the red gem first. If you follow this guide to the letter, you shouldn't have too many problems. As soon as the stage begins, start firing forward with Personal / Fire, but don't move. Wait until you hear the sound that is made when an enemy drops a vitality sphere, then keep firing until you hear that sound again, while edging forward. Immediately dash towards the vitality spheres and scoop them up. Move backwards to your original position and keep firing at anyone around you until the screen is covered up by the shaft. Once you can see again, start firing forward immediately and do the exact same thing you did before. Destroy the two enemies and collect the vitality spheres they relinquish. Take out any fodder left and focus your attention on the train. Tap A to position your vehicle in the middle of the screen, edge over to the right side of the screen, and fire backwards. Doing this should eliminate all threat from the turrets. You'll now find yourself plummeting downwards, and soon in a situation much like the beginning of the second section in Orange's stage - there's lots of flying goons dropping bombs in your general direction. What I do here is equip Homing, keep R and Up held down, and basically just tap A whenever a bomb is falling towards my location. Works for me. Once you're going horizontal again, equip your Personal / Fire weapon and assume the same position you had at the start, and once again fire froward at the turreteer and the big guy, taking the vitality spheres they drop. As soon as you've managed this, hover at the middle of the screen and place yourself at the far right, firing backwards to combat the turrets like before. Once you've defeated the turreteers, back up to the left side of the screen and start firing forward. If you're brave, use Fire and get a little close. It'll make things go faster, but you run the slight risk of taking damage. Once the train is gone, prepare yourself... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 3: Burning Pit - Seven Force - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - OH YEAH. Now THIS is what I call a boss fight. Quite challenging compared to the motley crew you've gone up against so far, mm? As the name implies, it has 7 forms, so I'm going to do a section for each form individually. Descriptions are there so you know which is which. General tips: - When it's transforming, watch it take form closely so you can position yourself away from it before it forms. If you're making contact when it finishes forming, you'll take damage, and that's no good. - If there's something coming your way, tap A. Twice, if need be. - If there's something flashy or fiery heading for you, then it will likely explode on contact with any surface, including the edge of the screen. If you're in range of the blast, you'll still take damage. - Use your weapon specials. Do not outright waste them, but use them. They're there to be used, and every little helps with this boss. Be prepared to drain all of your special meters, if necessary. - - - Name: Bow Force - - - Description: Black. - - - Difficulty: 1 - - - Best Weapon: Personal - - - It looks rather cool, but is definitely the least dangerous of all the Forces. Just tap A while it aims. It can't hit you that way once you get into the rhythm. Since it's so easy, it's a good opportunity to charge the weapon bars you've used up until now. Oh, speaking of which, it's immune to Blue's Lightning special. I have no idea why, but it just is. No loss, really - you shouldn't be using specials on it anyway. - - - Name: Crab Force - - - Description: Orange. - - - Difficulty: 5 - - - Best Weapon: Personal - - - This can be quite hard because for the walls it fires out, you always need to tap A twice to avoid them unless you're hovering in the middle, which you won't be, because of the fire it spits. If you get desperate, use any specials you have spare. They're all effective, but Personal has the potential to destroy the walls and block the fire. On the other hand, the walls have equal potential to block your own fire. It's just routine "tap A once or twice if something is coming at you and hold R + direction". Beware that if you're lingering on the very edge of the screen, the blasts from the fireballs can still damage you. After undertaking a sword-only challenge against Seven Force offered by Shearie on the GFAQs forums, I've found out Crab Force can be defeated easily by hanging on the ceiling at the start, going right up to it, lingering t just the right distance from it, and continuously slashing. You'll receive no damage if you're at the perfect distance and keep the slashes consistent. - - - Name: Eagle Force - - - Description: Blue, big, flaps limbs asif they were wings. - - - Difficulty: 3 - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - Even when lingering on the bottom of the screen, Fire still hits it. So, that's your first objective. Sink to the bottom of the screen, hover in the middle, and hold R + Up with Fire selected. Once it fires a blast at you, tap A. when it drops things at you, tap A. Repeat. If it lives long enough, it'll have a chance to use it's flame ring attack. If it hits both sides of the shaft at once, a large ring will spiral down at you. Shift into the middle of the screen to avoid it. If it hits the left side, quickly jut over to the right side, and vice-versa. Simple, once you know how. - - - Name: Soldier Force - - - Description: Bipedal and green. - - - Difficulty: 5 - - - Best Weapon: Homing / Personal - - - Position yourself on the opposite end of the screen, hover in the middle and fire your personal weapon above it's legs. It will start of by firing many little blue beams. Counter them with a short burst of your personal weapon's special. If you stay in ceiling / hover mode, which you should, you won't be affected when it kicks a ball. If it flies at you, immediately drop to the floor and continue firing. The bombs are poor really, you should give priority to damaging the Force itself. If it fires hands at you, stay slightly to the right of the screen, hovering in the middle. They should circle you, and spin. When they stop spinning, they'll fly again. Be prepared to move out of the way. If it fires a whole arm at you, you should drop the the floor or rise to the ceiling after it lowers to the middle of the screen on it's way back. This fight only gets hard when he starts using these attacks in random combinations. For example, if he fires an arm and two hands at you, or an arm and a ball at you, etc, you're in trouble, because it's very difficult / impossible to dodge. Unfortunately, surviving Soldier Force can require some luck. Hang in there, and don't be afraid to use all your specials if you get desperate. - - - Name: Tails Force - - - Description: Brown, with a large, distinctive, lethal tail. - - - Difficulty: 3 - - - Best Weapon: Personal / Homing - - - At first this form may seem hard, but it's actually quite easy. When it's spitting green projectiles, shoot at it from below the line of fire. When it gets near the bottom, you can still avoid being hit by sinking to the very bottom of the screen. It's secondary attack is conjuring fireballs from the bottom of the screen. Position yourself in the middle of the screen to the left side, fire, and use the sword whenever a fireball is about to hit you. If you're feeling dangerous, you could hover right in the center of the screen and constantly tap B instead. - - - Name: Tiger Force - - - Description: Golden cat with a short turret-tail. - - - Difficulty: 2 - 5 depending on whether you use the "Fire Ceiling" strategy - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - If you don't stick to the ceiling directly above it and fire downwards using the Fire weapon, this form can be pretty lethal. Otherwise, it's a piece of cake. Watch out for the pretty little blue stars - they explode on contact with any surface. If you don't use the Fire method, it'll have a chance to use it's deadly acrobatics on you. You have been warned. - - - Name: Urchin Force - - - Description: Spikeball. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Personal / Homing - - - Shoot at it while keeping your distance. If it spins at you, move out of the way. The little bombs are hardly a threat. Simple as... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 4: Black City - Fortress Raid - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - First off, turn around, drop of the ship, and collect the three vitality spheres. Then, jump up, wallkick back onto the ship and then jump right onto the start of the stage. Start firing and running. Once you drop off a cliff, keep going and you'll soon be presented with a miniboss. - - - - - - - Boss: Gunner - - - - - - - Vitality: 500 Difficulty: 2 Best Weapon: Uppercut You have a choice here. Either fire from a distance with Personal / Homing and watch the revolving guns closely to dodge when a line of fire is coming your way, get closer and use Fire while still being watchful, or run up to it and go absolutely berserk with gunstar actions. Up to you. Fairly easy whatever you do. Uppercut spam = instant win. Go forward. You're presented with a choice again. The high path is risk and reward free, while the low path...isn't. If you ask me, low path isn't worth it, but it's up to you. High path: Hop across the choppers and into the shaft in the wall. Follow the go signs. Simple. Low path: Drop down, turn around, and hop over the green beams to net yourself another 3 vitality spheres. Hop over the beams again and make your way over to the other side. You're greeted by one of the Commandos. Finally, you get to fight one. - - - - - - - - Boss: Commando - - - - - - - - Vitality: 200 Difficulty: 4 Best Weapon: Depends on your style. He'll almost certainly fire at you when you meet. Dodge it or block it with personal special. Next is yet another choice. Go berserkus melee on him, or snip him. Up to you. You'll probably end up taking damage either way because of the annoying goons pestering you with bombs and his nasty sword. Personally, I tend to use a combo of Fire / Slide / Jumpkick, or I avoid the bottom path entirely. After that, Proceed cautiously. See the flame turrets? You can either snipe them with Homing or run in there and gun them down. Either way, proceed upwards. This is where the two paths meet. Go across, start firing downward, and slowly make your way down. Flame turrets. Destroy them from afar and continue down. Soon you'll be standing on a lift, and thus we dive into the real meat of this stage...hoo boy. This'll take quite a bit of work to get done... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 4: Fortress Game - On the Board - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The dice palace. Arguably the most complete part of the game. You press A to stop the dice selector. After the first roll, the 4 gets replaced with a back, making the 5 an even riskier choice. A general guide is to get to the two item sections with as little fights as possible and to drop out of / avoid the high difficulty ones. I'll do a little section for each spot like with Seven Force. Do NOT overshoot the boss. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Hard mode notes ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ All the strategies still work. Black is also harder, naturally. All I will do is give you the safest path to take. Start -> Roll a 5. This takes you to what I would like to call "Bubble and Go!" >_> regardless of whether you make the time or not, it has health and you receive no penalty for failing. Bubbles -> Roll a 3. This takes you to the first item room. Item -> Roll a 3. This takes you to Smash Daisaku, who is fairly easy, although he does drop more bombs on hard mode, it's still possible to come out with a surplus of vitality. Speaking of vitality... Smash Daisaku -> Roll a 1. This takes you to the second item room. Item -> Roll a 2. Boss. I understand that it's not easy to land the dice on what you want, especially later on, but that's still the best path if you know what you're doing, which you should if you're playing on hard. - Floor 1 - Get to the item spot. At said item spot there will be 3 special spheres, and there may be a few along the way there depending on your dice timing. Because of this, you should feel free to use all your specials up. It's a waste if you don't. - - - Name: Valviton - - - Description: Long yellow snake - - - Difficulty: 3 - - - Best Weapon: Any - - - Just shoot the head. No difficulty involved here, just patience. If you find yourself on the body, the electric pulse will damage you. Jump to avoid it. That's it, really. Might want to avoid it coiling around you tightly and preventing your water access, because it'll be harder to avoid the discharge that way. - - - Name: Timeron - - - Description: Clockhead. - - - Difficulty: 3 - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - It's within the Fire weapon's range 90% of the time so use that or the uppercut if you're daring. WATCH OUT FOR TEH LITTLE ORBS. Stay away from them at all times. If you do, you should be fine. If not... - - - Name: Super Gondola - - - Description: Array of guns on the ceiling - - - Difficulty: 4 - 0 depending on whether you drop or not - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - No matter what you want to do, equip Fire. This is important later on. Fire at the turrets. Once the thing starts rotating, watch as bombs are dropped. Slide under a bomb into a hole in the floor to skip this damage deal and drop into something even more deadly... - - - Name: Minion Soldier - - - Description: Little green man... - - - Difficulty: 5 - - - Best Weapon: Specials / Sword / Slide - - - USE YOUR FIRE WEAPON SPECIAL IMMEDIATELY!!! This will, like, HALVE his vitality, and make the fight much, much easier. Now onto the original guide... Little [censored]s. This is an evil one, aye. Take the annoying red ones out if you feel like it, but they'll keep respawning. Your target is the green one. If he does his spinny glowy attack, you must sword or shoot him with acute precision. If you manage to get him up against a wall, he's all yours. Just slide repeatedly. BTW, if you slash the bullets the annoying red ones shoot at you, you get special spheres. - - - Name: Bubbles - - - Description: Bubbles! Timer! Go! - - - Difficulty: 1 - - - Best Weapon: The Gunstar's Action - - - Just use Gunstar Actions to navigate through the bubbles. This is a good, fun section. Enjoy it. However, if you're having trouble, then I've developed a step-by-step guide: Uppercut upwards and wallkick your way up the shaft. Once you're at the top, jumpkick / slide your way through the passageway until you see a bottleneck you can drop down that's left of a vitality sphere. Pick the health up if you want and jumpkick downwards. Go left, and up the shaft using the usual methods. You must take the turret out. I can't give an accurate guide for this because I just rush it as I don't want to waste any time and don't care if I lose a bit of health in the process. Go right. Up. Right. Down. Once you land in the little hole with a special sphere, you have a choice. If you have less than 10 seconds left, then I would advise to rush to the right ignoring everything and drop into the hole at the far right with the portal in it. If you have the time, hop into each hole and collect each sphere. If you're a masochist, then instead uppercut upwards into the bubbles above the portal and into the turret room. Once inside, refer to the next section for a guide. - - - Name: Turret - - - Description: Turret. Bubbles. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Fire / Uppercut - - - At first, watch the times when the turret fires and when it doesn't instead of shooting. Once you've got that down, you can do this easily without taking damage. Uppercuts are safe while it isn't firing. If it is, just shoot. The basic jist of it is fire upwards from the start, then as the beam gets close, run up the right side of the wall and uppercut to avoid the beam and repeat. - - - Name: Vortex Base - - - Description: Orange...so very orange. And brown. - - - Difficulty: 4 - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - Fire at the yellow orb at the base. Watch the red orbs glow. A beam will travel from the yellow orb to the first orb that glows, then second, etc. Watch this patten and try to avoid accordingly. You could just fire at it nonstop and hope for the best... - - - Name: Abreanu Gel - - - Description: Water. Gel. - - - Difficulty: 3 - - - Best Weapon: Personal - - - Immediately jump up to the left and land on dry ground. From here, start firing with your personal weapon and await an attack. When it fires the swirly beam thing, jumpkick over it and the gel itself. From here, you have a choice: Either spam Gunstar Attacks up it's rear or go all the way to the right side and start firing again. The former risks being hit by the little gels' explosions, but gets the job done faster. - - - Name: Item! - - - Description: No enemies. - - - Difficulty: -5 - - - Best Weapon: Gunstar Actions - - - Yay! Health! Go right, destroy the blocks, and collect the vitality sphere. Back up a bit, fire upwards, uppercut, and jumpkick up the platform just below the special spheres. Destroy the blocks and collect the vitality sphere. Next, jumpkick up to where the special spheres are. Fill up your weapon gages, then jump back out to the shaft and jumpkick all the way up. Once you're up, move right a little and flipdrop down twice to the vitality sphere. Make your way back, go left, destroy a few blocks, then make your way DOWN. Not up. Use the downward jumpkick. Once you land on the lift, it'll take you all the way to the top, no hassle. Jump over and wallkick to the portal. - Level 2 - It gets more and more dangerous from here on. Save your specials now instead of using them. - - - Name: Melon Bread - - - Description: Blue fire. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Personal / Homing - - - This can seem hard at first, but is actually the easiest of the bunch depending on your patience. You see, it only moves when you fire at it, and only moves in the direction it's facing unless it's at the edge of the screen. So you can avoid all damage by using careful, singular shots. Just don't use Fire. The multiple hits confuse it and make it unpredictable. I've also managed to beat it doing nothing but holding fire with Homing selected and jumping straight up now and then. - - - Name: Troops - - - Description: Toops... - - - Difficulty: 4 - - - Best Weapon: Fire? - - - You start off in a room infested with goons occupied by 2 commandos. The commandos are tough, and sport a sword, acrobatics, and a powerful laster blast that knocks you back far. Gunstar Actions are good, but you might be countered by their swords. Avoiding their lasers is top priority...and watch out for those damn bombs. Once you're done, go left and plow your way upwards while being careful of the gunfire. Go left a little bit more, and take a little look at what's ahead. You'll need to hang on that rail and be careful not to fall. If you fall, you'll drop straight back down into Level 1. That's no good. Strafe along the rail while firing at the goons. If you want, drop down to the center and tire instead. I wouldn't because your movement is limited and if you get hit it's an instant drop. Once Go appears, carry on to the left. Here's another choice. Jump over the lift and into the portal. If not, refer to the next section. - - - Name: Smash Daisaku - - - Description: Roly poly. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - Jump up and hang on the rail. Wait. Fire down at the human snorlax as he rolls near you. Collect vitality sphere. Move on. So, here's the ruined GSH version of Smash Daisaku. You'll have met him already if you chose Moon 3 before this. Just fire at him while he's airborne and watch out for the bombs. It's not very easy to avoid being hit just once, but possible. Finish him off when he lands to use his inferior new laugh. - - - Name: Item 2 - - - Description: Blocks again. - - - Difficulty: 0 - - - Best Weapon: Gunstar Actions - - - This one is difficulty 0 instead of a negative difficulty because there are actually hazards this time around. Namely pits. Guess what happens if you fall? That's right, back down the Level 1. Be very careful. From the start, do not fire at the blocks on the floor. Ever. Instead, go left, hop up / jumpkick up to the shaft at the right. Break through, collect the health, and make your way back, and go left until you can't anymore without jumping. From here you must fire downward, minimally, on the block beneath you. if you fire too much, you'll destroy the ones under them and doom yourself. Even collecting the vitality sphere will blow a few, so be careful. Go back up and continue left. Blast through the blocks and keep pushing left for a special sphere. If you don't want it / after you've got it, fire downwards. Don't worry, no risk of falling into a pit yet. Once you land, there is a vitality sphere below you, sitting on a moving platform. It's not very easy to get, and I don't recommend it, but if you want it, flipdrop, hang, and land on the platform. Collect it then jump back up to where you were. Go left a little. You can see two special spheres inside the blocks, but inbetween them there's a vitality sphere at the top. Fire and jump to reveal it, then edge forward and observe the final bit of this spot. Not too hard...might look quite hard though. Carefully tiptoe to the end of the floor, getting rid of every last block. Wait for the one closest to you to reach it's peak and for the one further away to reach it's lowest point. Now, go! Jump inbetween them, wallkick up them, and jumpkick to the left, falling into the portal. - Level 3 - DO NOT OVERSHOOT THE BOSS. - - - Name: Junk Town - - - Description: Teddy bear! Aaaaw!! ...Oh...wait. - - - Difficulty: 5 - - - Best Weapon: Fire / Personal - - - You must hit it square in the head to damage it. Watch out for the vehicles and keep your distance or it's curry-and-rice-esque dance will damage you. If it fires a fireball off, it will skim over your head and explode when it hits the edge of the screen. Thus, if you are near the edge of the screen, it will still damage you. Be careful and note that sliding under it's legs will do you no harm and is particularly good for dodging - as long as you don't slide into a vehicle. Tricky. - - - Name: THE ALMIGHTY FILE CRASHER - - - Description: DOOM - - - Difficulty: 999 - - - Best Weapon: YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE MAKE YOUR TIME - - - You're on your own. Have fun! - - - - - - Boss: Black - - - - - - Vitality: 500 Difficulty: 5 Best Weapon: Any A remake of the Black Stepper? Well, it certainly steps... When the left legs lift up, quickly scoot under them around to the other side of the area to find yourself under Black's head. This is the only weak spot the boss has. Shoot him, uppercut him, do whatever, just watch out for the missiles, and know that they're susceptible to uppercuts and the sword. Once he retreats, go around again - but watch out. This time, he has lasers. Predict their path from watching them power up and move accordingly. Use all the specials you desire to - no holding back. Once you deplete his vitality to 100, he'll start rolling around. Run away and repeatedly jumpkick / slide to move faster and end up behind him. From here, fire at it with Homing. If it gets out of range, you'll have to jumpkick a few times again. Once his machine is destroyed, He'll sit there. He's obviously been sniffing way too much laughing gas. Repeatedly sword him, but be alert. Gunstar Heroes players will have an idea of what to expect. ;3 Once he gives, enter the tractor beam as usual. BTW, you can make him fly around and even sit on the ship. I'll let you figure out exactly how. Once you've beaten Earth and Moons 1 - 4, Moon 5 becomes available. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 5: Giga Polis - Enemy Path - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Airborne goons dropping bombs on you. You know the drill from the other moons. STACK 'M. Once you land, head right. Right right right. Gun down the armada, obviously, and watch the ground closely. See the circles that look different? They're turrets. Either time it so that you can run / slide across all of them inbetween shots, use fixed fire diagonally down to destroy them, or just stand there with Homing on auto fire. Keep going, and you'll reach the "boss" of this section... - - - - - - - - Boss: Commando - - - - - - - - Vitality: 200 Difficulty: 2 Best Weapon: Anything works You know how to deal with these guys by now. Note that you can slide under his lasers - didn't know that until I tested this particular fight for the FAQ. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 5: G-Arc - Space Strike - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - B is fire. Use L and R to rotate the screen and thus your line of fire. Left and right make you hold back a bit or go forward until you can't anymore. A doesn't seem to do anything. Hold B at all times, like in the chopper section of Moon 2. Destroy the debris and ships heading your way by doing nothing but holding B. Keep going. After about a minute of idle flying you could get hurt by a ship colliding into the bottom of yours if you haven't moved at all yet. So after 30 seconds or so, be ready to start actually moving. After a bit of turning and stuff, the warning text will pop up: - - - - - - - - Boss: El Gunno - - - - - - - - Vitality: 200 Difficulty: 2 - 0 If you can't see it, keep rotating and after a while you'll hopefully catch sight of it. Hopefully...anyway, shoot at it diagonally from the lower side. The lasers won't hit you, and neither will the pellet-things. Once it's blown, continue on. ...Or rather, wait for the stage to make you continue on. Keep firing as usual and watch out for the ships. Remember that he spider-like ships are only vulnerable on their undersides and that you can hold backwards or forwards to go faster or slower. _ Alternatively, wedge yourself into the upper outlet{the _| shape}, tilt diagonally, and fire into the cannon. You can't be hit while in this position. When you get to the row of lasers firing at you that's apparently supposed to be a challenge, don't even bother adjusting your velocity. If you don't move, your path keeps in-line with the safe straight. Weird. Continue, continue, continue...then... - - - - - - - - - - - - Boss: Escape pod hatch - - - - - - - - - - - - Vitality: 300 Difficulty: 2 - 0 Same drill as before, but with no laser threat. Instead, all you need to look out for is the little yellow projectiles and get out of the way when they appear. Alternatively, like before, you can just wedge yourself into the corner by holding up + right and you'll be out of the way of the yellow things, yet still able to fire at the target. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 5: Imperial Moon - Sign of Ruin - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Another standing-on-the-ship-and-shooting section. Ironically, this is easier than the first of it's kind that you had to do on Moon 1, so I'm not bothering to walk you through it. Why should I? It's basically just holding up, selecting Homing, and holding B. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 6: Last Stage - Big Fight - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So...here we are. Go forward until you meet a ledge and can see the stars. From here, drop down 2 steps, collect the vitality sphere, and drop down one more step. Observe the laser turret beneath you. Just across to drop down two steps. Don't be afraid; just hold right for a second or so until you're standing on another vitality sphere. Repeat until you're at the bottom. Sit in the hole in the floor for a moment, watch the laser's rhythm. After if fires, quickly run / slide into the next pit, wait, and move again. Repeat until the warning pops up. - - - - - - Boss: Pink - - - - - - Vitality: 250 Difficulty: 5 - 0 Best Weapon: Sword / Fire Lackies: - - - Name: Lanky dude {Kain} - - - Vitality: 150 - - - Difficulty: 1 - - - - - - Name: Short dude {Kotaro} - - - Vitality: 80? - - - Difficulty: -50 - - - Ignore Pink at first. Your prime target is the lanky guy in the gun. Equip the Fire weapon, stand with your head just below the barrel of the gun, and fire. When the short guy drops those things on down and one lands right next to you, slash it, collect the vitality sphere, dispatch the gunner, take his vitality sphere, then go right a bit into the middle pit of the area. Position yourself right in the middle carefully. If you do it right, Pink's beams will not touch you. From there, you can just slash away at the orbs that are dropped down and max your vitality out to 300. This makes the fight really easy and is why the short guy gets a big, fat, negative difficulty rating. Bless him. Whether you chose to milk the short guy or not, next thing on the list is Pink. It's very difficult and time-consuming to kill Pink before the short guy because of the nature of his wobbly vehicle. All you have to do its shoot up and obviously, whether you chose to lap all the health up or not, you'll have to slash the bombs anyway. After the fight, move right cautiously until you come to a familiar green laser turret. Wait for it to fire, skim across it, wait for the next one to fire, move, etc. Don't let your guard down while getting into the rhythm, though, because the fifth laser is there to catch you out. Jump over it after it fires, and prepare for another boss fight. - - - - - - - Boss: Orange - - - - - - - Vitality: 100 Difficulty: 7 - 0 Best Weapon: Slide / Homing This is another one of those bipolar boss fights. The AI has critical flaws, and if you chose to exploit them, you can beat it with no difficulty. If not, you're in for a rough ride. Cheap method one: Run up to him and slide repeatedly. END. Cheap method two: Hang from the rail and use Homing. END. If you want to try and beat him legitimately, the joist is keep your distance and time your movements correctly so that you won't have to make contact with his fire trail. Get close and he'll crush you; go near the flames and they'll devastate you. Also note that slashing the flames makes them relinquish spheres. - - - - - - Boss: Black - - - - - - Vitality: 100 Difficulty: 2 Best Weapon: Patience This fight, unlike the others, has no gaping hole-like weakness. Instead, it's weak overall. Oops. Sliding is more effective than shooting Black's little pod, but since there's no point in rushing in this fight, use it to charge all your weapons up. All you have to do at the start is shoot at Black and keep running under the rows of platforms before they reach the top. Once his vitality is reduced to 200, lasers will appear beneath the spot he last popped up from. In addition, electrically charged rods sparsely appear. Top priority is given to destroying these rods before they descend too far. To destroy them efficiently, you will need to be on the far left or far right of the platform and fire upwards. All you need to do is keep shooting him, but now you have to be careful of the lasers, and, more importantly, the rods. Always keep an eye out for those. Pay attention and you'll do fine. Once he's done for, guess who's next. Yeah...that's right. Prepare yourself. And I mean REALLY prepare yourself. This fight is like none other in the game. - - - - - - Boss: Green - - - - - - Vitality: 1000 Difficulty: 10 - 0 Best Weapon: Form-dependant Jump through the door and run forward while firing your personal weapon. Stop about two inches from him and keep firing. This should chop off 100-odd vitality. Soon he will either slide into you or jump up and throw some kunais at you. If you are exactly the right distance from him, he will jump, throw kunais, but the lowest one will graze your hair, so you'll take no damage. I wouldn't worry if you get hit by him really, it's a damage tradeoff. This battle features Green constantly switching between Seven Force forms and dashing around inbetween. Speaking of which...see the 0 on the difficulty? Yeah, there's a loophole in this guy's AI too. He'll only invoke Seven Force when you have your back to him for a whole second. If you keep turning and firing while he's dashing, he won't do a thing. Takes very long to kill him this way though, and it's no fun, obviously. The forces he calls upon are completely random. There's no pattern at all as far as I can see. A general guide is to stay away from him when he's switching forces and that most of the time you can stay close enough to them for Fire to be a better choice than Personal without being in too much danger. Now that that's said and done, I'ma set this out like I did the last Green fight. - - - Name: Bow Force - - - Description: Black. - - - Difficulty: 5 - - - Best Weapon: Homing / Uppercut / Jumpkick - - - Unlike the last fight, this is arguably the most dangerous of the forces this time. It will shoot arrows just like before, but now turns to aim at you with deadly accuracy. You can try aiming and firing with personal and homing if you want, but it's really not an option. Run back and forth and watch closely as it gets closer to the ground. Eventually it'll be so close that it will actually damage you via contact. So, when it gets low, slide away. Alternatively, you could go crazy with uppercuts linked to jumpkicks. They can mess his aiming up badly but are very risky. - - - Name: Crab Force - - - Description: Orange. - - - Difficulty: 1 - - - Best Weapon: Fire - - - Gone from one of the most dangerous to one of the weakest. Use Fire and move a little when he drops a fireball. Simple. - - - Name: Eagle Force - - - Description: Blue, big, flaps limbs asif they were wings. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Personal - - - He will immediately fire a wave of tiny weak projectiles, like Soldier Force on Moon 3 but harder to bypass. Fire your Personal Special at it immediately to block them. Right after that, he fires a constant, slow-moving blue stream at you. Move away from it, and if the need arises, jump if you're getting pinned by it. - - - Name: Soldier Force - - - Description: Bipedal and green. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: FLEEE - - - If you're near him when he pulls this one out, it's time for a home run. He quite literally boots you. No way of avoiding it if you're too close. - - - Name: Tails Force - - - Description: Brown, with a large, distinctive, lethal tail. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Personal - - - Not quite as dangerous as before. If you find yourself under him or within range of his tail, get out of there and snipe. Not much different from Tiger Force strat, really. - - - Name: Tiger Force - - - Description: Golden cat with a short turret-tail. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Personal - - - He will use the lethal somersaults on you. Slide away if you're under him, and snipe him from far away. Just keep your distance in general and you'll be fine. - - - Name: Urchin Force - - - Description: Spikeball. - - - Difficulty: 2 - - - Best Weapon: Personal / Homing - - - As soon as you see it, run away for a second, jump to full height, and jumpkick in the opposite direction you're running. It should carry you straight over it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moon 6: Golden Silver - Dead End - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If you have any specials saved up...now would be the time to use them recklessly. Apart from Personal. Vitality: 999 Difficulty: 2 Best Weapon: Personal Okay...this is fairly simple. From the start, equip your personal weapon, move just left of the right edge of the screen, and fire upward. Watch the other end of the screen as you do. When the red gem flies down and starts firing, go right to the edge of your side and fire the personal special at it. Note the blue gem above you rotating and firing. As it's line of fire arcs down toward you, hold up to block that too. After a few seconds, stop, and fire normally again. Once the red gem drops down again, repeat the cycle. After a while your special bar will be quite depleted if you're using Blue, making this strategy less effective. It doesn't matter, though, because all you need to remember is that Golden Silver's Homing special does no damage, his Lightning and Fire specials do little damage, and the Force special from the red gem is the only one that does decent damage. As long as you avoid being hit by that, you should be fine. - - - Congratulations, you got a Game Over. :P You can now play the other modes for slightly different stories. Even the easy modes have different dialog, but the actual plot changes only occur in Blue: Normal and but hard modes. _ __ _ _ _ \ / / \ | \ |\ | | |\ | / \ /\ / /_ _\ | / | \ | | | \ | | - - \/ \/ / \ | \ | \| _|_ | \| \ _ / - - - - - - - - 7: Game Script - - - - - - - - _ __ _ _ _ \ / / \ | \ |\ | | |\ | / \ /\ / /_ _\ | / | \ | | | \ | | - - \/ \/ / \ | \ | \| _|_ | \| \ _ / THIS SECTION CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! Excluding us, 3YE no longer exists in any form. Red: No longer exists? What does that mean? Yellow: I don't know. But the stolen data may provide a clue. It says each of the 4 moons has a Treasure Gem. Red: T-the legendary gems to call forth the God of Ruin? Blue: But weren't they destroyed along with the Destructor? Yellow: Yes, but I recall how 4 moons appeared after that battle. I think these gems have been regenerating in the moons. And now they've "awakened." Red: If so, then they must have some purpose... Yellow: To awaken the God of Ruin, Golden Silver, again. Blue: So history repeats itself once more... Yellow: Now we know what the Empire wants. They were aptly named. Somehow, I have a feeling of deja vu. Blue: Will we meet Pink, Orange and Smash? What irony... Yellow: Well, we better get to the 4 moons before the Empire. Red: Roger! - - - - Moon 1 - - - - Yellow: A Treasure Gem should be underneath this pyramid. But the Empire's ready. It's hired mercs to deal with us. Pink and her gang are also expecting us, so be careful. Blue: It looks like the Empire's here already. Get ready! Pink: The Empire already controls all the moons, silly girl. And 3YE is gone. Why continue fighting? Red: Because we're Gunstars! Pink: So be it. May the moons be you burial ground. Kain, Kotaro, let's go! Ho ho ho! Absilio Mundus! *picture of the blue gem appears* And so the blue Treasure Gem was acquired! Its sparkle...could it be trying to communicate? - - - - Moon 2 - - - - Yellow: Hurry, the Empire's already acquired the Treasure Gem! It's on a warship that's about to leave the moon! If it reaches space, we won't be able to catch it. Red: Understood! - When you meet Orange - Orange: I am Orange! I'll take you down with a single blow of my fists! - Stage Clear - Red: Stop your foolish plan. What do you hope to accomplish? Think of the consequences if you reawaken the Destructor. Orange: We have. We know how to control the God of Ruin. Red: What? What do you mean? Orange: With the power of the great Megalith in our hands...It will be glorious once we awaken Golden Silver again. Absilio Mundus! Red: Wait! *picture of the yellow gem appears* And so the yellow Treasure Gem was acquired! But can the Megalith control the legendary God of Ruin? The Treasure Gems quietly sparkle... holding the key. - - - - Moon 3 - - - - Yellow: A Treasure Gem is buried deep beneath the mine, here. Red: Wasn't;t this where Green was last seen? If only... Yellow: Don't talk about my brother! Focus on the mission. Red: I'm sorry. Yellow: I've prepared a Force Mecha to transverse the mine. It'll change position when you press the jump button. Be careful. The Empire has control over the mine. And they've uncovered the Seven Force, a powerful relic. Red: Understood! - When Green appears - Green: I am Green. Seven Force! - Stage Complete - Red: Green! Why are you working with the Empire? Green: Because of the Megalith! Red: The Megalith...Just what is the Megalith? Green: Someday you might find out. Good bye! Absilio Mundus! Red: Wait, Green! Yellow's been... *green gem appears* And so the green Treasure Gem was acquired! But why would Green agree to work for the Empire? Treasure Gem sparkling...What mysteries does it hold? - - - - Moon 4 - - - - Yellow: The casino here is popular, run by a man named Black. However, it's also an Empire fortress filled with traps. Red: One of the Treasure Gems must be in there. Yellow: Keep your eyes open, and your trigger finger ready. Red: Understood. It'll be a piece of cake. - Boss - Black: Care to bet on Black? - Stage Clear - Black: Impressive. You survived my Megalith powered fortress. Red: Again!? Come on, tell me what the Megalith is. Black: Ha ha ha. Remember the alien soldiers you fought here? They were brought here by the power of the Megalith. But that's just a portion of its power. Wait until we have both the Megalith and the Treasure Gems. Then, you'll see something truly spectacular! Absilio Mundus! Red: Wait! *red gem picture appears* And so the red Treasure Gem was acquired! So, the Megalith can be used to cross dimensions. But how does this relate to the Treasure Gems? Its silent sparkle... the Treasure Gems say nothing... - - - - Moon 5 - - - - Gray: I applaud you, Gunstars. I'm impressed that you were able to obtain all the gems. But I've acquired Yellow, and her fate is in my hands. Come to me, Gunstars! I'll give you Yellow when I receive the Treasure Gems. Yellow: Don't come, Gunstars! Blue: Darn it! What are we going to do? Red: You need to ask? We've got to rescue Yellow! - When you reach her - Gray: *standing on ship that Yellow is in, Smash Daisaku has a gun to her head* All right now. Stay there and throw the Treasure Gems to me. Red: Grr...Here you go! Gray: Ha ha ha! Now the empire shall be invincible. And to thank you, I'll send you all to hell! Red: What?! That's not fair! Blue: *drops down, blowing Smash Daisaku and Gray off the ship* Don't forget about me, Gunstar Blue! Gray: Y, you! Bah, I don't need anything but the gems! So long! *flees laughing* Smash Daisaku: Your excell... General! *flee* Red: Yellow! Am I glad that you're safe now! Yellow: Sorry, but we've got to go to the Empire's main base. The body of the Destructor lies in waiting there. Red: What? Yellow: With the 4 gems, the God of Ruin will be resurrected. Get in, Gunstars! We've got to go after them! Red: Roger! - After G-Arc launches - Yellow: Look, they're heading there. Let's go straight in! Red: Let me get my spacesuit on, then we'll take them! - - - G-Arc - - - Yellow: We landed successfully, but the enemies keep coming! Blue: Yellow and I will handle things here. Now go! Red: Thanks. *cut to hall room with Gray at the stage* Gray: I am General Gray! Listen to me! Our time is now at hand. We now have the 4 gems. We will reawaken the God of Ruin and control it. Using the Megalith, it will become our messiah. The Earth government will no longer oppress us. We will establish a new world order, a new empire. *crowd cheers* Wow... - When you meet Pink, Orange, and Black - Red: Bring it on! - After you defeat Green - Gray: Heh heh heh. Looks like you've finally made it. But you're too late! The destructor is waking up now! Red: How can you believe Golden Silver to be the messiah? Have you forgotten? It nearly destroyed our world! Gray: We haven't forgotten. It's exactly what we want. We must have fear and death before the new order! Red: What?! Gray: With the Megalith, we shall manipulate the Destructor. We'll use it to cleanse humanity. The fires of judgment will leave only the pure alive. And that is when we will create a new ideal world! Red: An ideal world? And toss our lives aside as trash?! Gray: And what's wrong with that? Can you save humanity? Humanity cannot save itself. See the wars being fought. Look at out overpopulation. We need to be cleansed. And so it shall be done, by the Megalith's power. Awaken, Golden Silver! No. No! Golden Silver: I am Golden Silver. Gray: W-What are you doing? Obey me! *glows yellow and is in pain* Golden Silver: Foolish mortal, I listen to no one! I am a god! I am Golden Silver. I will give you a god's peace. The peace of death. To all humans, equally. - Golden Silver Defeated - Golden Silver: I... am a god. I grant the wish of death. My mercy... Red: What's going on? It looks like it's burning up. Golden Silver: I am... mortal. The... Earth... My... *flee* Yellow: This is Yellow! What's going on? We saw a large energy force headed toward the Earth! Red: It's the God of Ruin! We've got to stop it! Blue: Not now! I've got my hands full with these guys! Red: Forget them! We've got to get to the Earth! Blue: Man, I hate leaving in the middle of a battle! *scene shift to Golden Silver approaching the atmosphere and Red / Blue's ship giving chase* *picture of Golden Silver piercing the atmosphere is shown* Red: There it is! The God of Ruin! Blue: No! We're not going to make it in time. The Earth... Yellow: Wait! There's something else approaching. What is it? I'm sorry that I've brought trouble upon you all. Red: That voice... Green: My revenge... To actualize my father's wish. But it seems I went down the wrong path. Words cannot express my regret. But I shall pay with my actions. And pay them in full! *a picture of Green about to slam Seven Force into Golden Silver pops up* Yellow: Brother! *picture of an explosion pops up* The God of Ruin has been destroyed again. Through the ultimate sacrifice or Green. The world is saved. But mysteries still linger. We know the Megalith could open other dimensions. And it apparently controlled Gray to do his bidding. But where did Gray find the Megalith? Green's words: His revenge?, his father's wish? It looks like there are still some mysteries. *a picture of the 4 gems appears* The 4 Treasure Gems sparkle, as if they have the answers. *cut to credits* - - - - - - - Blue: Normal - - - - - - - - - - Earth - - - Yellow: This is Yellow! Respond HQ. Respond 3YE. It's no use! This could've only happened if someone betrayed us! Go Gunstars!get in before things get worse for 3YE! Blue: Yeah, yeah. Moving out! - When you reach Gray - Gray: Greetings, I am General Gray. You're too late, Gunstar. I have the data. Blue: What do you hope to gain by this? Gray: Only to free the moons from the Earth's oppression. With this data, we'll gather the 4 Treasure Gems. Once we have them, we'll call forth the God of Ruin! Blue: What kind of utter nonsense is this? Yellow: This is Yellow! I need support! Blue: That's the latest Earth military technology. How... Gray: Don't you see? We also have support on Earth as well! Soon you'll learn the truth. The Earth shall pay for its crimes on the moons. Absilio Mundus! Blue: Man, I failed! - Stage Clear - Yellow: It's impossible, but I can't hear any 3YE communications. It's as if 3YE never existed. Blue: Well, let's let the Earth army deal with this. Red: What! Blue! How can you call yourself a Gunstar? Blue: Gunstar?! Isn't that just a codename? We're not heroes! What can the three of use possibly do? Red: Blue, you... Yellow: Stop it, Red! I believe that the Empire can't win under normal conditions. But if they can revive the God of Ruin, they'll win. Blue: Right, so let those who want to fight, fight. Yellow: But think about why the 3YE was created. If the Earth army fights, It'll be an all out war. Many innocents will die regardless of the outcome. We've got to try. For their sake. Red: Okay, Yellow. Whatever. You're a Gunstar, so act like one. Blue: *Sigh* I wish I could be as simple-minded as you! Red: Do you really dislike this job so much, Blue? Blue: Oh boy, please don't make that face. I'll go, okay? - - - - Moon 1 - - - - Yellow: Apparently, the gems were symbols of native tribes. Through generations, they appeared on burial sites. It explains why there's one inside the pyramid. Blue: Hey, I didn't sign up for an archeology lecture. Red: You're right. Enemy aircraft are approaching. Get ready! Blue: Okay, let me get ready, then kick in the afterburner! - When Papaya Dance appears - Blue: Bring it on! - When Pink appears - Pink: Ho ho ho. I'm the bounty hunter known as Pink. - Stage Clear - Blue: Learned your lesson? Why don't you leave now? Pink: Gunstar! Are you willing to listen to the truth? Look at this moon! Its beauty and the inhabitants. A paradise... But only for Earthlings... While we're confined to homes in the desert. With no choice but to watch the rich enjoy themselves. Yes, I was born on this moon, too. And the only vocation I has was to be a bounty hunter. Blue: stop your whining. Your makeup's going to come off. Pink: I'll see you again, boy! Absilio Mundus! *picture of the blue gem appears* And so the blue Treasure Gem was acquired! Even in the future, conflict cannot be avoided. What does this mean for mankind? The Treasure Gem sparkles silently... - - - - Moon 2 - - - - Yellow: No! The Empire's already acquired the Treasure Gem. It's on a warship that's about to leave! We'll run into anti-aircraft fire, so watch out! Blue: Anti-aircraft fire? Why is the moon helping the Empire? Yellow: Since 3YE's disappearance, the Empire's gained support. Red: Why? The Empire's acts of violence hurt everyone. Blue: But some believe conflict is the only answer. Especially those who live on the moon. Red: Man, all this talk is driving me nuts! - When you meet Orange - Orange: I am Orange! I'll take you down with a single blow of my fists! - Stage Clear - Blue: Hey, old man. Do you really want to continue fighting? The Earth's willing to fight to control the moons. Isn't it better to have peace than provoke them? Orange: Are you joking? We've suffered under their rule. Why should I believe they'll act any differently now? Besides the Empire, I can trust no one. I shall only remain as a color, the color Orange. But Gunstars, I curse your blindness. Absilio Mundus! Red: Blue, is what we're doing meaningless? I see the determination in his eyes, and I wonder...Are we doing the right thing? Blue: It's not something you should worry about, Red. I'll make sure we do the right thing. *picture of the yellow gem appears* And so the yellow Treasure Gem was acquired! The Empire threatens Earth to save the moons...Is there such a thing as true justice? Gunstars... The Treasure Gems continues to sparkle in silence. - - - - Moon 3 - - - - Yellow: We believe the Treasure Gem is inside the Force Mine. The mineshaft is 200 km in length. So don't get lost. Blue: Also, 7 Force, a machine life form, was buried here. I'm surprised you have so much data on the mines. Yellow: I've prepared a Force Mecha for you. It'll change position when you press the Jump Button. The Empire already control the mine, but there's more. They dug up the Seven Force, a powerful relic. Be careful! Blue: Hmph. Always easier said than done. - When Green appears - Green: I am Green. Seven Force! - Stage Complete - Blue: Green! Why are you working with the Empire? Green: And why are you working for the Earth government? Did you know all the resources were taken here? The Earth took everything and left the colonists. They had nothing, and were left a sterile land. A now lifeless husk of a moon. Blue: But why join the Empire? Their acts are just as evil. Green: Perhaps in time, you will understand. Farewell! Absilio Mundus! Blue: Wait! I still have questions! *green gem appears* And so the green Treasure Gem was acquired! So a former Gunstar is now part of the Empire...What truth is there in conflict? The Treasure Gem remains silent... - - - - Moon 4 - - - - Yellow: The casino here is popular, run by a man named Black. He was once a scientist. Now he works for the Empire. I think he expects us at his fortress. Blue: It was likely funded by the money from the casino. Yellow: Given his nature, be careful of his weird traps. Blue: Hm... I'm not a betting man. I'll be careful. - Boss - Black: Care to bet on Black? - Stage Clear - Black: So, you survived my first trial, Gunstar. Blue: First trial? This place isn't much of a challenge. Black: Well, this was once a lab, create by Dr. Shadow Light. 15 years ago, we uncovered the Megalith and its power. It could pull beings from other dimensions. It was supposed to be able to reawaken the Destructor. Oh doctor, why was I left alive? Then the Empire came. With that power hungry Gray! Now the Empire's objective is to defeat the Earth. And I was left all alone. Stuck in this barren place. Blue: What? Who's this doctor that you're talking about? Black: You'll know soon enough. And perhaps the doctor's wish...Absilio Mundus! *red gem picture appears* And so the red Treasure Gem was acquired! Rumors say that Gray created the Empire 10 years ago. Before then, no one knew of the Empire and General Gray. And who is Dr. Shadow Light? The Treasure Gem sparkles...With a silent answer. Red: We've got to rescue Yellow! Blue: Man, why'd she have to get herself captured? - When you reach her - Gray: *standing on ship that Yellow is in, Smash Daisaku has a gun to her head* All right now. Stay there and throw the Treasure Gems to me. Red: Grr...Here you go! Gray: Ha ha ha! Now the empire shall be invincible. And to thank you, I'll send you all to hell! Blue: Hmm, you deceitful... Green: *descends from above the screen in a flurry of explosions, knocking Daisaku off the ship. Scene shift to Green standing ominously above a defeated Gray.* Gray: Green?! Have you lost your mind? Green: No. I have suffered enough under your orders. Look upon me. My true name is Green Shadow Light. I am the son of the man you killed, heir to the Empire. Gray: I-it can't be! *scene shift back to where you last were in gameplay. Gray is barely keeping himself kneeled on the ground.* Smash Daisaku: Oh no! *flee* Green: Yellow! Leave the Earth! I will fulfill our father's wish! I shall control the Empire and create an ideal world. Take care. Yellow: Brother! Blue: Yellow! I'm glad that you're safe now! Yellow: I'm sorry, but my brother's in trouble. He's going to fulfill our dad's wish to reawaken... Blue: What? Yellow: We can't allow my brother to get to the main base. Get in, Gunstars! We'll use this ship to get to him! Blue: Okay! - After G-Arc launches - Yellow: Look, that small craft is headed toward that planet. Blue: Man, looks like we've got to follow it. Let me get ready! - - - G-Arc - - - Yellow: We landed successfully, but the enemies keep on coming! Red: Yellow and I will take care of things here. Go on! Blue: I guess that leaves everything to me! *cut to hall room with Green at the stage* Green: I am Green... Shadow Light. The Empire shall follow me. I am the son of the Empire's first governor. The Empire was created to reawaken humanity. But it was used by Gray after my Father's death. His only objective was to rule all the moons. I hid myself in the Empire to eliminate this scrouge. Now with the General gone, I claim that which is mine. Men, let use bring the Empire back on its original path. I shall use the Megalith to fulfill my father's wish. I shall awaken humanity. And bring about my father's ideal World. Absilio Mundus! *crowd cheers* Wow! - When you meet Pink, Orange, and Black - Blue: Bring it on! - After you defeat Green - Green: *in what could be described as a leader's clothing* I see you're finally arrived, Gunstars. If you wish to stop me, you're too late. Blue: But why? Why would you want to reawaken the God of Ruin? Green: What if I said Golden Silver is not the God of Ruin? Have you considered why it appears and destroys things? Blue: What are you implying? Green: My father found a mysterious relic in space 15 years ago. This was the Megalith. It told him something amazing. Golden Silver is the consciousness of humankind. But it's been awakened incorrectly by the 4 gems. Blue: Are you saying Golden Silver is some kind of savior? Green: Yes. It only acted warlike to out mistakes. The Megalith is the 5th gem to give it true awareness. Gray only wanted Golden Silver for his own desires. I only wish to awaken it to aid humankind. It'll open us new worlds, to new resources, a new era. No more conflict between the Earth and its moons...That was my father's wish. Absilio Mundus! Now awaken, Golden Silver! No. No! Golden Silver: I am Golden Silver. Green: What are you doing? *glows yellow and looks like he's in pain* Golden Silver: Yes, I am the savior of humankind. I am human...But you are impure. You must be destroyed! Blue: What are you saying? You're still the Destructor! Golden Silver: I represent humankind. Those impure, must be destroyed. - Golden Silver Defeated - Golden Silver: I...am... humankind. Death for all... Humans... Blue: I-It looks like it's burning up! Golden Silver: I am humankind... All else must be destroyed. Earth... *flee* Green: *normal outfit again* Uh oh! It's headed towards Earth. Blue, come on! Yellow: This is yellow! What's going on? Green: The God of Ruin is headed toward Earth. We'll stop it. Yellow: No! Stop! The only one who can stop it is... Green: Just bail out with Red! Blue, do you hear me?! Blue: Don't order me around. I've got a job to do. *scene shift to Golden Silver approaching the atmosphere and Red / Blue's ship giving chase* *picture of Golden Silver piercing the atmosphere is shown* Blue: There! The God of Ruin! Green: No! We can't catch up. It's headed toward Earth. Red: This is Red! Yellow went after it, alone! Green: What? Blue: There's another high energy object approaching! Is it... Yellow: I'm sorry, brother. This is the only way to stop it. The Seven Force was meant for me. I can use its power. Father prepared it for me in case of this...I know you've watched over me in the past. Now it's my time. Thank you! And...Good bye! *usual picture of Seven Force about to collide with Golden Silver* Green: Yellow! *explosion picture again* The God of Ruin has been stopped again. A brave Gunstar...Sacrificed her life. The world's been saved. But questions remain unanswered. With the Megalith, Golden Silver was to truly awaken. Yet it stood as before, the dreadful God of Ruin. Is the Megalith a fifth Treasure Gem? What did Dr. Shadow Light see in space 15 years ago? It looks like there are still some mysteries. The 4 Treasure Gems sparkle, as if they have the answers. *cut to credits* - - - - - - Red: Hard - - - - - - - - - Earth - - - Yellow: This is Yellow! Respond HQ. Please respond. It's no use! How could someone overwhelm our HQ? We have over 300...Go investigate, Gunstars! Use extreme caution. Red: Roger! - When you reach Gray - Gray: Greetings, I am General Gray. You're too late. I've already got what I wanted. Red: Where are the guards? What have you done to them? Gray: Ah, I erased them! I used the power of the Megalith. Red: Megalith... What the heck is a Megalith? Yellow: Yellow here. I require help. I'm under attack! Red: What? There was no earning. Where did it come from? Gray: Hmph. You cannot the power of the Megalith. Soon, everyone will bow to the power of the Empire. Absilio Mundus! Red: Shoot, we've got to get back to Yellow! - Stage Clear - Yellow: 3YE seems to have vanished. But it's so hard to believe. Get ready! Red: Roger! - When Papaya Dance appears - Red: Bring it on! - When Pink appears - Pink: Ho ho ho. I'm the bounty hunter known as Pink. - Stage Clear - *picture of the blue gem appears* The blue Treasure Gem touches your mind. I am the first gem, Satoa, from a different Earth. Red, I will endow you with my history. On my Earth, war and death were the only two constants. Humans never evolved, and were always in conflict. I was created to help stop humankind from extinction. But in the end, I failed. Man was too savage. All my efforts could not stop man's conflict. Yet despite this, I still loved humankind. I vowed to prevent this from happening again. I evolved, and was able to travel through dimensions. That was when I learned of a horrifying power. An ulterior force also able to travel dimensions. Its intent: The destruction of all living things. It is only known as Outside Space. I am here to try and prevent it from succeeding. Find my comrades, and you shall learn more, Red. But be quick. Your Earth is in danger. - Stage Clear - *picture of the yellow gem appears* The Yellow Treasure Gem touches your mind. I am the 2nd gem, Ruks, from a different Earth. Red, I will endow you with my vision. I see that your soul is linked to a different world. On my Earth, people like you were often heroes. Yet, some lacked real honor, and left after their task. I cannot see whether you are a true hero or not. But we must rely on you. We cannot directly interfere. We believe you will do what must be done. Outside Space attempts to invade once again. You are the only hope for this Earth. Yet by saving your Earth, you will save others. We are glad that we have found you. Be brave, and look to the future. Look beyond the task and become a hero. We will be watching... - Stage Complete - *green gem appears* The Green Treasure Gem touches your mind. I am the 3rd gem, Alioto, from a different Earth. Red, I will endow you with my history. On my Earth, the environment was harsh. So humans learned to manipulate genes. But by doing so, hey lost their humanity. They were monstrosities that fought over everything. Born into this world, I fought for my humanity. But that was when I found another horror. It was a horror from another dimension. It was something that would endanger all our Earths. This was Outside Space. a vile evil entity. It was then that I had a new goal, to preserve humanity. I searched for help in this upcoming battle. That is why I am here. You must help us save our Earths. Save humanity. Red, we're counting on you. - Stage Clear - *red gem picture appears* The Red Treasure Gem touches your mind. I am the 4th gem, Miko, from a different Earth. Red, I will endow you with my history. The Earth was torn apart by war. That's when I was born. Created as a peacemaker, I was able to save my Earth. But then I lost my consciousness. Yet during this time, I evolved. It was then that I learned of other dimensions. I learned that there were many other Earths. I also discovered the horror known as Outside Space. Able to travel dimensions, it threatens all our Earths. Yes, your Earth is in danger as well. While it cannot directly engage is, it's aware of us. Soon, it will strike, and attempt to destroy us all. It has already planted its seed here. Some have already been misled. You must recognize this false savior and use it. Red, keep your courage. It allows us to speak to you. Destroy the false savior with your two hands! - - - - Moon 5 - - - - Gray: I applaud you, Gunstars. I'm impressed that you were able to obtain ll the gems. Green: *descends from above the screen in a flurry of explosions, knocking Daisaku off the ship. Scene shift to Green standing ominously above a defeated Gray.* Gray: Green? What are you doing here? Where are my men? Green: You fool. I am about to usurp your control. Gray: W-What? How can you do this to me? Why? Green: Does my real name help? It's Shadow Light. And Pink, Orange, and Black have agreed to follow me. Gray: No! It can't be! Smash Daisaku: Oh no! *flee* Green: Yellow! I am truly sorry. I gave the order to have you captured, to trap Gray. So my revenge is complete. Now, for my father's wish...Don't worry, you'll always be in my heart! Yellow: Brother! Red: Yellow! I'm glad that you're safe now! Yellow: Sorry, but my brother's in trouble. He's going to fulfill our dad's wish. To reawaken... Red: What? Yellow: We can't allow my brother to get to the main base. Get in, Gunstars! We'll use this ship to get to him! *cut to hall room with Gray at the stage* Green: I am Green... - When you meet Pink, Orange, and Black - Red: Bring it on! - After you defeat Green - *a picture of all four gems appears* We are glad to see that you made it here. But you must not stop the God of ruin from awakening. Red: What? What do you mean? Gems: The God of Ruin is the power of humanity. It is the only thing that can stop Outside Space. If destroyed, we will all lose. You must not destroy the God of Ruin. Like a child, the God of Ruin will destroy. But eventually it will shut down. Red: But... But that's not fair! What about all the people that will die? I-I don't know what to do. I can't handle this. Please. Is there any other alternative? Gems: We see the compassion in your heart, but... Green: Red, don't listen to them! They're lying to you! Believe in the Megalith. It will change the God of Ruin. Golden Silver will bring about a new age of peace. Gems: You are deceived. Yet we can do nothing. Seal your fate. Green: I shall. Reawaken Golden Silver! Red: Noo! Green: No. No! Golden Silver: I am Golden Silver, God of Ruin, the Destructor. Green: What? Megalith, have you deceived me? *glows yellow and is in pain* Golden Silver: I feel despair... fear... immense hate. You are filled with negative emotions. How can you blame me, if you cannot repress them? Your need to rely on me only shows your ineptitude. Red: Green! Darn it! Golden Silver: I am Golden Silver, a mere silhouette mirage of you. Your despair, your fear, I will use to destroy. - Golden Silver Defeated - Golden Silver: I am... Golden Silver. A son... revenge... wish... Red: W-What? *scene shift to Golden Silver approaching the atmosphere and Red / Blue's ship giving chase* Golden Silver: True identity... Earth...Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! *flee* Gems: The God of ruin is going out of control! Red: Are we safe? Did we win? Gems: No. The God of Ruin is an alter ego of you. Its confusion means the destruction of Earth. Red: W-What? Its going to destroy the Earth along with itself? Blue! Yellow! Can you hear me? We've got to go! Green, I'm sorry. We'll come back for you later! *picture of Golden Silver piercing the atmosphere is shown* Red: There it is! The God of Ruin! Blue: No! We're not going to make it in time. The Earth... Yellow: There's another high energy reading! What is it? I'm sorry, everyone. Red: That voice... Green: We aren't ready yet to awaken Golden Silver. But as humans, we must never give up! Red! Blue! Yellow! Take care of the future! Watch over Golden Silver! Help the God of Ruin from its damned destiny. Guide it without the gems or the Megalith...Seven Force! *a picture of Green about to slam Seven Force into Golden Silver pops up as usual* Yellow: Brother! *the explosion pops up* Blue: What is that? Red: The 4 gems! *a picture appears, depicitng Green floating in space, being orbited by the 4 gems* Green, you are the first to pity the God of Ruin. Your concern has taught the God of Ruin some humanity. It has begun to evolve, ever so slightly. And so... You have been saved by saving the God of Ruin. The God of Ruin in the image of humanity. Bear in mind, the Destructor will rise again. What the Destructor becomes depends on you. Humanity decides its fate. Farewell Green, child of Shadow Light... *a picture showing Red, Yellow and Blue smiling on their ship appears* Brother! Green, you really are a Gunstar! Correction. We're all truly Gunstars. Gunstar Super Heroes! *cut to credits* - - - - - - Blue: Hard - - - - - - - - - Earth - - - Yellow: This is Yellow! Respond HQ. Nothing's getting through! A spy must've infiltrated our system. Go investigate, Gunstar, The Empire's already in 3YE! Blue: Man, what a pain! Get ready! Blue: Okay, let me get ready, then I'll take them out! - When Papaya Dance appears - Blue: Bring it on! - When Pink appears - Pink: Ho ho ho. I'm the bounty hunter known as Pink. - Stage Clear - Pink: Well, lady luck's on your side. We have to pull out. But remember, we'll get the gems sooner or later. Kain, Kotaro, let's go! Until next time. Ho ho ho. Blue: They left something behind. What is it? It's a data disk. The Shadow Light Journal? Yellow: I wonder what's in here... Shadow Light Journal 1 Notes from Dr. Shadow Light, Earth science div. Thanks for the Gunstars, the God or Ruin was defeated. But 4 new moons were born. What mysteries do they hold? Why didn't the matter form rings, instead of moons? How did those moons gain an atmosphere and gravity? I must examine all the data I can obtain. Ah, a clue. The relationship between the Earth and moons! The orbit between the moons seems unnatural. There should be a 5th object, a lost planet? This was where the God of Ruin impacted our moon! After surveying this area, I found an object. I found the Megalith, a gem with intelligence! - Stage Clear - Orange: You better watch your back from now on, Gunstars! Blue: Man, another journal to read? Shadow Light Journal 2 Notes from Dr. Shadow Light, Earth science div. The Megalith can communicate telepathically. But what surprised me more was its story...Apparently, humans still haven't evolved much. But if we can develop our intellect, we can be reborn. Then we can transcend time and space, like the 4 gems! These 4 gems came from different Earths. And they wished to help lead us infantile beings. But they had trouble with our savage nature...But the Megalith, the 5th game, can aid us. No one will believe me, so I must pursue this alone. I've quit my job, and set up a lab on one of the moons. With my assistant, Black, I will study the Megalith. - - - - Moon 3 - - - - Yellow: We believe the Treasure Gem is inside the Force Mine. The mineshaft is 200 km in length. So don't get lost. Blue: Also, Force, a machine life form, was buried here. - Stage Complete - Green: I shall leave now! But please give this to Yellow! Blue: Another data disk? What's in this one? Shadow Light Journal 3 Today, I witnessed a phenomenal event. We saw a life form emerge from thin air! All this from following the Megalith's instructions...It disappeared, but gave us a glimpse of another being. The Megalith says it's just rewriting out reality. But what does that imply? Does it mean we're like a piece of code in a program? If so, wouldn't the possibilities be endless? It makes our conflict for resources seem so small. With the Megalith, we can enter a new era of humanity. But we'll need more funding to do further studies. I need to find someone who believes in this. Gray, a wealthy earthman, has agreed to listen to me. - Stage Clear - Blue: Another journal? How many are there? Shadow Light Journal 4 I've learned many things, and I'm closer to my goal. The key... Golden Silver. It can be used as a portal to other dimensions. We'd be able to explore and find new resources. We would no longer need to fight for limited resources. But Gray's interest seems to be different than mine. He seems to want power. He's inflamed the moon colonists. They believe we'll fight the Earth government. What Gray has done is inexcusable. Even though it may be my work, I must stop him. We must bring humankind to a new era of peace. Hence, my slogan, "Absilio Mundus!"...I've given my journals to my son and daughter. I pray they will not need to use the information in them. But I no longer trust Gray, and I fear for my life. My son, daughter...May they live in peaceful times. Yellow: ... - - - - Moon 5 - - - - Gray: I applaud you, Gunstars. I'm impressed that you were able to obtain ll the gems. But I've acquired Yellow, and her fate is in my hands. Come to me, Gunstars! I'll give you Yellow when I receive the Treasure Gems. Blue: Man, the Treasure Gems we've gathered are... Red: What's this? The 4 gems are radiating! Blue: What? There's a voice in my head! Gems: We are the will of different Earths. Learn the truth... - When you reach her - Gray: *standing on ship that Yellow is in, Smash Daisaku has a gun to her head* All right now. Stay there and throw the Treasure Gems to me. Blue: Grr...Here you go! Gray: Ha ha ha! Now the empire shall be invincible. And to thank you, I'll send you all to hell! Blue: What?! That's not fair... Green: *descends from above the screen in a flurry of explosions, knocking Daisaku off the ship. Scene shift to Green standing ominously above a defeated Gray.* Gray: Green? What do you think you're doing? Your face... Green: You fool. I've only obeyed you to get the gems. I am the son of Dr. Shadow Light, heir to the Empire. Now I'll make you pay for killing my father. Gray: No, it can't be! *scene shift back to where you last were in gameplay. Gray is barely keeping himself kneeled on the ground.* Smash Daisaku: Oh no! *flee* Yellow: Brother, I'm so glad you're here! Green: Thank you for helping me out, sister. Blue: Yellow, you let yourself get caught, didn't you? Yellow: Yes. I'm sorry I took advantage of you two. The journals my brother left reminded me of my real task. I am Yellow Shadow Light. We must fulfill our dad's wish. Blue: Uh oh! Red: What should be do? Yellow's now a bad guy! Blue: It's okay. The 4 gems told me this would happen. They're going to the Empire HQ to awaken the Destructor. Red: W-What?! Blue: Come on! We'll go after them in this ship! - After G-Arc launches - Red: Look, that small craft is headed toward that planet. Blue: Man, looks like we've got to follow it. Let me get ready! - - - G-Arc - - - Red: Ouch! Crash landing! Here come some guests! I'll take care of them. You go find those two! Blue: It's always up to m to clean up the mess! *cut to hall room with Yellow at the stage* Yellow: Hear me! I am Yellow, Yellow Shadow Light. I'm the daughter of the Empire's first governor. My brother and I shall fulfill our father's wish. The Empire was born where the destructor was buried. To represent a new era of peace, not conflict. We'll open a door of hope to unlimited resources. We wait upon the God of Ruin to fulfill its role. Now we shall awaken the God of Ruin as our savior. With the Megalith, we will complete our father's task! We will be the guardian heroes for humanity. May mankind go forth! Absilio Mundus! *crowd cheers* Wow! - When you meet Pink, Orange, and Black - Blue: Bring it on! - After you defeat Green - *a picture of the Megalith appears* Megalith: Ah, Gunstars, you've finally arrived. I am Megalith. Allow me to reveal the truth to you! Blue: So, you decided to show yourself! Yellow: *in royal gear* Please, Blue! Listen to what it says! Blue: Sorry, but the 4 gems already gave me the story. Megalith! I know what your goal is! You aren't the 5th gem! You were sent by Outside Space! Your purpose is to use the Destructor to eliminate us! Yellow: What? ...I only have your word. Why would the gems betray me? *a picture of many Earths appears, perhaps representing parallel universes* Shouldn't you know? They only have one objective. Their only concern is to protect their "Space." The God of Ruin can be used in either fashion. That's why they won't stop it from awakening. They want power, just like I do! Neither side cares what happens to the people here. We only care that the God of Ruin remains intact. Yellow: What are you talking about? We're not your puppets! Green: Megalith! How can you be telling the truth? Megalith: This farce is over now. Awaken Golden Silver! Blue: No! Green: No... No! *glows yellow and is in pain* Yellow: Arrgh! *glows yellow and is in pain* Golden Silver: I am Golden Silver. I am power fueled by humanity. I must feed myself to become stronger! Blue: You...You monster! - Golden Silver Defeated - Golden Silver: Who... What am I? Why do I exist? Blue: Look, it's running away! Golden Silver: I shall... return to the chaos I was born from! *flee* Blue: Hey, is split! Did you meddle in this, Megalith? Megalith: No. The 4 gems and I have done nothing. There is no value in controlling the God of Ruin. What drives it now is its own hatred toward itself. It wishes to destroy itself and that which created it. You will get no aid from us. Stop it if you wish. Ha ha ha ha ha! Blue: Red! We've got to go after the God of Ruin! Come on! Green! Yellow! We'll be back to save you. Sorry... *scene shift to Golden Silver approaching the atmosphere and Red / Blue's ship giving chase* *picture of Golden Silver piercing the atmosphere is shown* Blue: There's the God of Ruin. But our ship's too slow! Red: Let's try to crash into it with our ship! Blue: Red?! Red: It's the only way to save the Earth. Sorry, Blue! Come on! *Blue and Red are shown in their ship, close together at the controls* Blue: Um, Red? I love you! Red: Yeah... Let's go! We're Gunstars, right? *shift to Green and Yellow side by side in Seven Force* Blue! Red! We won't let you go alone! We'll be with you, too! Seven Force! *usual picture of Seven Force about to collide with Golden Silver* Pink: Gunstars! Orange: Green! Yellow! Black: Doctor! Your children... *explosion picture* Absilio Mundus! *picture of Red floating by the red gem* Is peace truly just a fantasy? *picture of Blue floating by the blue gem* Billions of people on billions of Earths... *picture of Green floating by the green gem* Each have their own prayers, their hopes and wishes...All eternal in an otherwise ephemeral life... *picture of Yellow floating by the yellow gem* That is the power of humans. So conflicted, yet wishing for peace. We shall be united once more. Now is the time for a new awakening! *cut to credits* - - - - - - 8: Credits - - - - - - - Treasure for making the game - Service Games for publishing the game - Anthony K for informing me about strafing - Me for sitting on my arse and writing this document
