Megaman Battle Chip Challenge Welcome to the Megaman Battle Chip Challenge Navi Chip Location and Stats FAQ. As always, if you need to quickly find the data for any Navi, use the handy Ctrl+F to search through my FAQ. Any questions you have can be asked on the Battle Chip Challenge board as I am there several times a day. ========================================================================== Table of Contents 1. Thanks ========================================================================== 1. Version History ver1.00 - Completed FAQ(after a year >_>). ver1.10 - Fixed some of the more glaring text problems. 2. Intro Megaman Battle Chip Challenge plays a bit differently from the other BN games. NT took the Action/RPG hybrid of the main series and made a more traditional run-and-jump style game that downplayed the number-crunching aspects, BCC drops the action elements and places have emphasis on your thinking and organizing s kills. Your success hinges entirely on your skill at organizing your program deck against any number of variables you can and probably will come across. More than any other game in the in the entire MM game library, MMBCC is about thinking, calculating damages, planning and augmenting your attacks, working around your weaknesses, and anticipating your opponents tactics. Of course a little dumb luck doesn't hurt either. 3. Playable Characters and their Navis -------------------------- Lan Hikari and Megaman.EXE -------------------------- Lan is the son of Hikari, the top Navi programmer in the world. Netbattling is his first love and true passion. He has a natural talent for it. This talent is channeled through Megaman.EXE, one of the most extraordinary Navis ever created. Programmed with the mind of Hub, Lan's twin brother who died at birth, MM and Lan share a bond unlike any other Net-Op/Navi duo in the world. They have saved the world four times from Net-criminals. Between Lan's zeal and MM skill they can take on anybody, anywhere. Ever since the WWW interrupted the N1 Lan's been waiting for a chance to duel Chaud again. The announcement of the BC GP couldn't come at a better time. You can't beat the well-rounded stats of MM. His Charge shot does 50 damage to the Navi and to the last chip in his deck. He has the largest MB capacity of all of the starter Navis and is a solid starter for people who have never played this game before. -------------------------- Maylu Sakurai and Roll.EXE -------------------------- Maylu and Lan heve been next-door neighbors for years and friends just as long. Maylu is studious, kind and a lover of music. Roll is like her in many ways; her cheerfulness is almost contagious, and she uses her abilities to heal her friends. Roll is also like Maylu in the fact that she has a thing for MM, except she is more open about it than Maylu is. Though Maylu has always had feelings for Lan, over the past year they have gotten serious. Unfortunately for her, Lan is thicker than Capcom's game library and is completely oblivious to her feelings. He is completely focused on the upcoming BC GP. But Maylu is resourceful and figures "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." So she and Roll enter the GP as well, and might just give the boys a run for their money. Roll can actually be a formidable fighter thanks to her ability to outlast other Navis with higher HP. Not only is she an "A" rated dodger, but her Heart Flash restores 50 of her HP no mater what. Unfortunately, her MB capacity is a bit small so you might have to rely on her Heart Flash. -------------------------- Dex Ooyama and Gutsman.EXE -------------------------- At one time, Dex was the terror of ACDC elementary. He was an unstoppable Net Battler, until he went up against Lan and MM. Defeat after defeat followed, but rather than become bitter, he found himself respectingand even liking Lan. Now they are good friends. Gutsman is a lot like Dex. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but underneath all the muscle is a good heart. Dex has been down lately over his inability to best Lan in a battle. In fact, he's about to throw away the GP invite when Chisao blames Gutsman for the failure. His Navi's rep besmirched, Dex signs up to prove that Gutsy is the best battler there is. Guts' game is power with very little subtlety. He does the most unaugmented Navi chip damage of all the starter Navis and the attack breaks guards. His high HP lets him take a beating but he has very low starting MB and a low dodge rate. ------------------------------ Eugene Chaud and Protoman.EXE ------------------------------ Chaud is the youngest official Net Battler ever. He's also one of if not the best there is. Lan thinks he is a jerk but he comes through when the chips are down. Proto is one of the deadliest Navis ever who lets his sword do most of the talking. When officials receive a mysterious e-mail from someone threatening to delete the winner, Chaud is sent in to investigate. He enters as a common contestant, and figures that he will be the champ and the unknown assailant will attack them, rather than an unsuspecting Navi. After all, the odds of another Navi beating him are slim to none. Well, maybe Lan and MM. The N1 was never decided. Protoman, like MM, is a very well-rounded Navi. His slightly higher HP and 10 more points of Navi chip attack damage are welcome. However, MM has him beat in a few other areas as well. The SonicBoom isn't as accurate as the Charge shot and has a slightly lower MB capacity. Not much is more annoying than being 10 MB shy of plugging in the LifeAura3. -------------------------------- Kaita Todoroki and Turboman.EXE -------------------------------- Kai loves cars and is always clad in oil-stained overalls with a wrench handy. He's ready to dig into any car, whether he knows what he's doing or not. Turboman is a custom-built digital hot rod whose engine is always running hot. They both have a tendency to act without thinking. Six months ago, Kai was stuck in a virus controlled bus whose AC was turned to a baking point. He thought he was a goner. Until Lan came to save the day. Again. XP. Since that fateful day Kai has followed "Master" Lan's exploits faithful, dreaming that one day he will meet this idol. When he gets the GP invite he and Turbo realize that they not only have the chance to meet the duo, but battle them as well. More than any other starter Navi, Turbo has to rely on battle chips to do the bulk of the damage. TurboWheel's low damage is offset somewhat by attacking all of the opponents active chips. Despite the rolling motion, it is not stopped by holes. A Navi+ chip and using the Fire-element advantage can make this attack a lot better. If you choose him as your Navi, expect a rough start in the GP. ----------------------- Mary Towa and Ring.EXE ----------------------- A shy girl Netopia, Mary doesn't really have any friends other than her rambunctious Navi Ring. Her heart condition keeps her from strenuous activity, and she's naturally quiet and reserved as it is. Ring is anything but. She's a non-stop bundle of energy who can talk a mile a minute. Sounds like my 6th grade teacher. She's upset that Ring has no other Navis other than herself. When Mary becomes an exchange student to ACDC, living at Yai's house Ring sets her plan to make Mary new friends in motion. She signs up for the GP without Mary's knowledge, then tells her as the tourney starts. Fame, fortune, admirers and new friends await! They'll sweep the nation! Their names will be on everyone's lips. The RingRang attack has amazing potential under the right conditions. Because it hits twice, the effect of Navi+ chips are doubled. It's also an electric attack so it can do triple-digit damage if it hits a Water Navi on Ice or Aluminium panels. It has the most potential of all the starter Navi chip attacks. It also attacks the left chip of the opponents deck. Being an "A" rated dodger doesn't hurt either. 4. Non-playable characters Yai Ayanakouji and Glide.EXE Yai is the youngest girl in 6th grade, and also comes from one of the richest families in Electopia. While she can be a little bit self-centered, tempermental, and stubborn at times being friends with Maylu and Lan has mellowed her out. Her faithful Navi Glide serves as her digital butler, keeping track of her many, many appointments with uncanny precision and unflappable calm. He is rarely seen in combat because he finds it distasteful but is ready with some of the rarest chips there are. Yai is sponsoring the GP so she isn't competing. She works out the TV rights, merchandising deals, gives advice, and helps the competitors find the tourney location sites. Higsby and Numberman.EXE Higsby first came to ACDC city as a WWW agent looking for vital codes that would help Wily create the LifeVirus all for rare battle chips. When Lan and MM handed him defeat. He changed his ways. Now Higsby owns a chip shop in ACDC and travels the world looking for rare chips and setting up shops on the way. His faithful Navi Numberman scours the Net looking for clues to the newest battle chips. Chisao Ooyama Dex's litttle bro is a trouble magnet. Was Dex ever this bad? Probably worse. He believes whole-heartedly in his bros battling skills and refuses to accept the possibility that Dex isn't perfect. Now he wanders telling people that Dex is going to beat them in the GP whether they're competing or not. 5. Navi Chip Locations and Statistics Here, you can find all the info you need about the Navis you can play as. I will also include a ranking of the 5 top Navis that we agree on. I'm listing the Navi's in the order that they're found in the Library. ---------------- #195 Megaman.EXE ---------------- Element: None HP: 500 Base MB: 170 Accuracy: A Dodging: B Priority: E Attack: ChargeShot(50 DMG, Last Chip) Acquired: Master Tournament/ HackersNet Free Battle #30(Mayl) ------------- #196 Roll.EXE ------------- Element: None HP: 400 Base MB: 140 Accuracy: C Dodging: A Priority: E Attack: HeartFlash(50 DMG, Recover 50HP) Acquired: Healing Tournament ---------------- #197 GutsMan.EXE ---------------- Element: None HP: 600 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: C Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: GutsHammer(70 DMG, Guard Break) Acquired: Guts Tournament ----------------- #198 ProtoMan.EXE ----------------- Element: None HP: 500 Base MB: 160 Accuracy: B Dodging: B Priority: D Attack: SonicBoom(60 DMG, Random Chip) Acquired: Master Tournament(Lan and Mayl)/ Hackers Net Free Battle #10(Kai), #20(Dex), #30 (Mary) ----------------- #199 TurboMan.EXE ----------------- Element: None HP: 550 Base MB: 160 Accuracy: A Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: TurboWheel(20 DMG, Fire, All) Acquired: Hackers Net Free Battle #10 ------------- #200 Ring.EXE ------------- Element: None HP: 450 Base MB: 150 Accuracy: B Dodging: A Priority: E Attack: RingRang(20x2 DMG, Elec, Last Chip) Acquired: Hackers Net Free Battle #40 ---------------- #201 Bass GS.EXE ---------------- Element: None HP: 800 Base MB: 170 Accuracy: B Dodging: B Priority: E Attack: GospelCannon(40 DMG, Fire, All) Acquired: Hackers Net Free Battle #100 ------------- #202 Bass.EXE ------------- Element: None HP: 700 Base MB: 140 Accuracy: A Dodging: B Priority: D Attack: AirBurst(20x3, Last Chip) Acquired: Chaos Tournament --------------- #203 IceMan.EXE --------------- Element: Aqua HP: 500 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: B Dodging: A Priority: E Attack: FreezeTower(60 DMG, Aqua, Pierce Guard) Acquired: Droplet Tournament ---------------- #204 FireMan.EXE ---------------- Element: Fire HP: 500 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: B Dodging: C Priority: D Attack: FireArm(60 DMG, Fire, Pierce Guard) Acquired: Match Tournament ---------------- #205 ElecMan.EXE ---------------- Element: Elec HP: 450 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: B Dodging: B Priority: A Attack: SparkStrike(20 DMG, Elec, All) Acquired: Battery Tournament ---------------- #206 WoodMan.EXE ---------------- Element: Wood HP: 600 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: B Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: WoodTower(80 DMG, Wood, Pierce Guard) Acquired: Sapling Tournament ----------------- #207 SkullMan.EXE ----------------- Element: None HP: 650 Base MB: 150 Accuracy: B Dodging: B Priority: C Attack: BoneCrush(90 DMG) Acquired: Block Tournament ------------------ #208 NumberMan.EXE ------------------ Element: None HP: 400 Base MB: 120 Accuracy: B Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: DiceBomb(10-60 DMG, All) Acquired: DenCity Free Battle #10 --------------- #209 AirMan.EXE --------------- Element: None HP: 550 Base MB: 140 Accuracy: C Dodging: B Priority: E Attack: AirShot(30 DMG, All) Acquired: Cliff Tournament ----------------- #210 QuickMan.EXE ----------------- Element: None HP: 450 Base MB: 150 Accuracy: A Dodging: S Priority: S Attack: QuickBoomerang(20x2 DMG, Last Chip) Acquired: Quick Tournament ------------------- #211 ThunderMan.EXE ------------------- Element: Elec HP: 550 Base MB: 120 Accuracy: C Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: ThunderBolt(40 DMG, Elec, Stun) Acquired: Netopia Free Battle #5 ---------------- #212 GateMan.EXE ---------------- Element: None HP: 600 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: B Dodging: B Priority: E Attack: GateCannon(100 DMG) Acquired: Guardian Tournament ----------------- #213 SharkMan.EXE ----------------- Element: Aqua HP: 400 Base MB: 120 Accuracy: C Dodging: A Priority: E Attack: Fin(40 DMG, Aqua, Last Chip) Acquired: Stream Tournament ------------------ #214 ShadowMan.EXE ------------------ Element: None HP: 450 Base MB: 130 Accuracy: S Dodging: S Priority: D Attack: Shuriken(20x3 DMG) Acquired: Shadow Tournament ------------------ #215 KnightMan.EXE ------------------ Element: None HP: 700 Base MB: 140 Accuracy: B Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: RoyalWreckingBall(50 DMG, Break Guard) Acquired: Netopia Free Battle #25 ------------------ #216 MagnetMan.EXE ------------------ Element: Elec HP: 600 Base MB: 120 Accuracy: S Dodging: C Priority: E Attack: MagnetMissile(60 DMG, Elec, Pierce Guard) Acquired: Netopia Free Battle #
