What is M&M's Blast? M&M's Blast is a GBA game featuring M&M candies as characters. It is a board game video game, similar to Mario Party, but less fun, and with much less fun minigames. It's about as fun as a broken kite, but everything needs an FAQ nonetheless. b. How do I start? Just press Start at the title screen, type in your name, press Start, and use the Left and Right arrows to select from 1-3 computer players. Then say that your players are ready and begin. Dice will be rolled to see who goes first, and then you select a character. c. Who are the characters? The Yellow M&M (of the Red and Yellow Duo), who represents Peanut M&Ms, the Red M&M (also of the Red and Yellow Duo), who represents Milk Chocolate M&Ms, the Green M&M (the seductress M&M), and the lesser- known blue M&M, who I don't believe has been in any of the recent commercials. The Orange M&M would have been better (Orange represents Crispy M&Ms). There is no difference between the characters. (-----------) ( MINIGAMES ) (-----------) a. So are there minigames? Yes, there are 16 available minigames in M&M's Blast. b. What is Candy Catch? Instructions: Move left and right to catch as many candies as you can! Press B Button to run. This is a pretty simplistic game. Just catch the candies in your bag. Different colors don't mean a different amount of points. Pressing B is quite useful, so remember to. The game will ask you to catch 5 more and more and more and etc. c. What is Miniature Golf? Instructions: Press left and right to aim the ball. Press the A button to hit the ball. Least number of strokes wins! A simple, isometric minigolf game. The fact that it's isometric is quite annoying, so make sure you're looking the right direction, and make sure to hold the A button for the right amount of time. The longer it is held, the further it goes. d. What is Candy Rally? Instructions: Use the Control Pad to steer your car. Press the A button to accelerate. Press the B button to drop smoke. Just drive around and get M&M's. Each M&M is two points, so you need five of them to win. Your opponent will most likely get stuck somewhere, so this is pretty easy. e. What is Hoop Shoot? Instructions: Press the A button to throw the ball. Line up the orange dot with the green one to sink as many baskets as you can. This is pretty tough and takes some serious hand-eye coordination. The computer will most likely beat you unless you practice at this minigame a lot. f. What is Hurdles Race? Instructions: Press the A button repeatedly to run. Press up to jump. Be the first to cross the finish line! If you screw up at all (especially in the beginning), the computer will almost positively beat you. Sometimes you can get lucky and win however, so make sure you don't mess up early on. g. What is Balloon Blowup? Instructions: Press the A button repeatedly to inflate a balloon. Inflate as many balloons as you can! This is just so simple that it doesn't even need a real explanation. h. What is Skydiving? Instructions: Use the Control Pad to guide your character towards the floating candies and catch as many as you can! This is incredibly easy, and somewhat similar to a Mario Party minigame, whose name I seem to have forgotten. You drop down and follow the arrow to grab candies. Just make sure you are right on the tip of the arrow and you'll always get the candy. i. What is Candy Count? Instructions: Press up and down to guess the number of candies on the screen before time runs out! This is just...weird...and dumb. It doesn't really make any sense. Just randomly press up and down and maybe you'll get lucky. j. What is Target Shoot? Instructions: Move left and right to aim and Press the A button to release a burst of color. Hit the target to move your character to the finish line. Watch out for the moving targets, some go fast, some go slow. Also, make sure to pay attention to the little guys on the top of the screen. That's how close you and your opponents are to the finish line. k. What is Candy Match? Instructions: Use the Control Pad to select each card. Press the A button to flip each card over. Earn 3 Minis per match. Match all cards for bonus! This is basically a version of Concentration. It will show you a card at full size on the right of the screen. Try to figure out which of the face down cards on the left side of the screen that full size card matches with. l. What is Candy Bounce? Instructions: Move left and right to protect your candy pile from the bouncing ball. Whoever loses all their candy first is the loser. You're stuck on that line that you start on, so always make sure to remember that. The bouncing ball with only take candy from ou if it hits you, so make sure it only hits the bag. m. What is Wall Racer? Instructions: Use the Control Pad to steer your character around the arena and surround the other players. This is like a multiplayer version of the game Snake (aka Anaconda). Don't run into the walls or into any M&M's that anyone leaves behind (including your own). The last player standing wins. n. What is Dodgeball? Instructions: Move left and right to run your character. Press the A button to jump. Press down to crouch. Avoid all the flying balls! This is pretty annoying and takes some actual skill and hand-eye coordination, even though it's still just another cruddy minigame. o. What is Skeet Shoot? Instructions: Move left and right to aim and Press the A button to release a burst of color. Color as many white candies as you can. This is sort of like Duck Hunt. Just aim at the white 'candies' (the things that sort of look like Mike and Ikes), and shoot when they're in the crosshairs. p. What is Drag Race? Instructions: Press the A button to accelerate. Be careful not to blow your engine! Um...apparently pressing the arrow keys while doing this doesn't 'blow your engine'. Uh...right...I don't get it. q. What is Space Chase? Instructions: Use the Control Pad to fly your saucer. Press the A button to accelerate. Press the B button to fire an energy burst. Collect candies and make sure you know what way you're going. It's kind of confusing. Try looking at the radar to help you out. (----------------) ( THE BOARD GAME ) (----------------) a. What boards are there? The available boards are Sweet Dreams, Amazing Rainforest, Amusement Park, and Haunted House. b. How does gameplay work? You roll the dice and move. Eventually minigames appear. Tada. c. What do the spaces mean? Green Space = You win minis Red Space = You lose minis Yellow Space = Allows you to swap places with another player Gold Space = Nothing happens Blue Space = On-board minigame A space with an arrow on it = Move Space, makes you move ahead/backward a certain amount of spaces A space with a check on it = Checkpoint Space, gives you a checkpoint for if you get killed A space with a star on it = Turn Space, nothing happens, but allows you to move different directions A space with a "?" on it = Chance Space, you either move ahead, backward, lose minis, win minis, swap players, or return to the last checkpoint d. Anything else? Nope, not really. That's why this game is so boring. There's really not all that much to do.
