  (((1))) Introduction

  This FAQ is for only Gamefaqs. Any illegal reproduction of this will be 
notified to me, and it's also a good way to get your @$$ kicked. Just don't 
do it, ok? Good. Also, the game is based on Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, so 
don't ask. And, if anyone hasn't figured it out yet, my e-mail is at the 
title. If you're stuck, e-mail me so I can get you un-stuck.

 (((2))) Updates

 December 29, 2001: 1.1: Started the frekin' thing. Got done with 85% of it. 
Stopped during moves chapter, cause I felt tired and needed some root beer.

December 30, 2001: 1.2: Continued at moves chapter. Finished it AND 
everything else. Wooo. Now, I need the endings and missing fatality and 
friendship names, and the entire thing is complete.

December 30, 2001: 1.3: Got Cyrax's, Ermac's, Jade's, and Jax's ending. Also 
got Ermac's friendship name: Computer in the Box??? I need some root beer.

December 31, 2001: 1.4: Oops. Made a mistake on Sonya's friendship. I have it 
corrected, so don't anyone panic. Found a move for Human Smoke. Also got 
Kabal's, Kano's, Liu Kang's, and Kitana's ending. Also added some nifty names 
to character roster. Check em out. Got Classic Sub-Zero's friendship name.

January 1, 2002: 1.5: Happy New Year's, and stuff. Got Rain's friendship and 
fatality name. Also got Nightwolf's, Kung Lao's, Mileena's, and Noob Saibot's 
ending.

January 6, 2002: 1.6: Sorry I haven't been around lately. I got Rain's, 
Scorpion's, Sindel's, and Reptile's ending. Made a little change on Rain's 
friendship name. Also have strategies for Motaro and Shao Kahn, upon request.

January 7, 2002: 1.7: Thanks to CSTAN730 for contributing Human Smoke's 
fatality. Got Sektor's, Smoke's, and Shang Tsung's ending.

January 8, 2002: 1.8: Got Sonya's and Stryker's endings. Not much today.

Sadly, three characters were programmed out. They are Sheeva, Johnny Cage, 
and Raiden. But Raiden does appear in Nightwolf's Friendship, so be glad of 
that.

(((5))) Bosses

 There's only two bosses, but they're EXTREMELY hard!

Motaro- Half beast, half horse. He can teleport, and use his tail to trip 
you. He can also shoot fireballs out of his tail. Not only that, he can use 
his heel hoofs to uppercut you. Don't use any magic moves, cause he'll 
deflect them right back at you.

STRATEGY: Keep high kicking him, even if he's blocking, which he probably is. 
He'll slowly lose power, so if you keep doing it, you could get a flawless 
victory. Strangely, this only works if you're on the left and Motaro is on 
the right. If you're on the right, you'll kind of deflect off of him, which 
is strange.

Shao Kahn- The dark emperor. He uses his magic to try to kill you, and he 
also uses a hammer to smack you with. He'll also try to mow you over, with 
himself! I don't think he's as hard as Motaro, but still, he's not easy.

STRATEGY: Do the same thing as you did with Motaro. Since Shao Kahn is 
smaller than Motaro, you may jump over him. If you do that, just keep high 
kicking him, and he'll be down in no time.

 (((6))) Difficulties

 When you've selected your fighter, you have four towers to choose from:

Novice: Easy one. It's very short, and only consists of several fighters, 
plus Motaro and Shao Kahn, and an Endurance level. The fighters are Scorpion, 
Classic Sub-Zero, Jade, Cyrax, and Kung Lao.

Warrior: A little harder than Novice. There's one more fighter to fight, who 
is Sub-Zero, including Motaro and Shao Kahn, and an Endurance level.

Master: Harder than the previous two. A fighter is added from Warrior, who is 
Sindel, plus Motaro and Shao Kahn, and an Endurance level.

Grandmaster: The hardest of em all. A fighter is added from Master, who is 
Noob Saibot, plus Motaro, and Shao Kahn, and TWO Endurance levels (you only 
fight Noob Saibot in the second endurance level).

 (((7))) Options

 The options is under Start at the Main Menu.

NOTE: Use Left and Right to switch between categories, and use Up and Down to 
toggle the category you've selected.

Difficulty: Either Easiest, Easy, Medium, Hard, or Hardest.
Blood: On or off.
Fatalities: On or off. These are characters specials to finish off opponents.
Contrast: Adjust the lighting to your heart's content.
Handicap: Adjust it however you want. Beginners should have more than 
experienced players.

(((8))) Secrets

Fight as Human Smoke- Beat the game under the Warrior tower. Start a new game 
and highlight the mystery box to get Human Smoke.

Fight as Motaro- Beat the game under the Master tower. Start a new game and 
highlight the mystery box to get Motaro.

Fight as Shao Kahn- Beat the game under the Grandmaster tower. Start a new 
game and highlight the mystery box to get Shao Kahn.

(((9))) My Own Review

Graphics- Quite impressive, but not great. Fighters look like paper dolls. 
Backgrounds are kinda boring. I give it a 7.
SCORE: 7

Sound- Nice voices. Goes with each character. Music is very annoying! I give 
it an 8.
SCORE: 8

Gameplay- Feels very like UMK3, but only one fatality and one friendship?! 
Hard to do a trip. I give it a 7.
SCORE: 7

Value- 5 difficulties and 4 towers. May last you maybe a month to master. 
Secrets! I give it an 8.
SCORE: 8

!CAUTION!- If you don't want to see character endings, then skip this whole 
section, because it DOES contain spoilers.

Cyrax- "Cyrax is captured by Sub-Zero and reprogrammed with new orders: 
Destroy Shao Kahn. With Kahn unable to detect the assasin's souless presence, 
Cyrax delievrs a sucessful sneak attack, but after eliminating Kahn and 
saving Earth, Cyrax awaits orders from his Lin Kuei headquarters. The orders 
never came, and Cyrax malfunctions. He ends up stranded in the middle of a 
vast desert, blindly heading towards his base."

Jade- "Jade makes the decision to assist her long time friend, Kitana. She 
thwarts an assasination attempt by Reptile against the princess and fends off 
other Outworld enemies. This clears the path for Kitana to turn Sindel 
against the emperor Shao Kahn. With Sindel removed as an enemy, Jade finds 
herself facing the emperor in kombat. She defeats him, and both earth and her 
former homeland of Edenia are transformed to their original state. Jade has 
earned herself a place amongside the great heroes of Mortal Kombat."

Kabal- "After returning from near death, Kabal swears revenge against his 
attackers. He fights amongside the other Earth warriors. When he defeats 
Motaro and the mighty Shao Kahn, he proves that he truly is the chosen one. 
Before the invasion, Kabal lived a life of crime. He was once a member of the 
Black Dragon along with Kano. Now Kabal devotes his life to fighting 
injustice. He will give crime inner circles a new reason to fear."

Ermac- "When Kahn finally eliminates his opposition, he finds a new, 
surprising foe in Ermac. The Outworld souls that give life to the warrior did 
not trust their tyrannical leader who planned to consume the powerful life 
force for his own power. Even Shao Kahn's power was no match for the 
overwhelming strength of the legions of deceased Outworld warriors. They 
destroyed their master in a battle that devastated the entire realm. Ermac 
was left behind to rule it with his own brand of opression." 

Jax- "The second time Jax battles the forces of Shao Kahn, he comes prepared. 
Thought to be the strongest man on Earth has no problem proving it first by 
beating Kahn's armies, then by defeating the emperor himself. When the world 
reverts back to normal, Jax and Sonya start the OWIA (Outer World 
Investigation Agency). Jax runs the explatory division, which learns to open 
the portals through science, not magic. He leads the first expedition into 
the mysterious new realm."

Kano- "When Shao Kahn lets Kano live, he fails to realize the resourcefulness 
of the scheming human. Kano lures Kahn's army away on a false mission, then 
nukes them using a stolen weapon. He fights the remaining warriors, and 
finally defeats Kahn himself. Kano's true intention is to take over the souls 
which Kahn once possessed. But Kano is unable to control the spirits as they 
escape and attack him. Rumored to have suffered a violent death, Kano was 
ignorant of the fact that he saved the world he tried to conquer."

Kitana- "Kitana evades the evil clutches of Shao Kahn and escapes into the 
unknown regions of Earth. She survives an assasination attempt by the vile 
creature Reptile and allies herself with one time comrade Jade. Together, 
with the help of Earth's warriors, Kitana reaches Sindel and turns the queen 
against her emperor. With Shao Kahn defeated, the Earth is changed back to 
it's original state, as is Kitana's realm of Edenia. She will be forever in 
debt to her friends from Earth as she rules the new realm of Edenia at Queen 
Sindel's side." 

Liu Kang- "After thwarting Shao Kahn in the past, Liu Kang finds himself the 
main target of Kahn's extermination squads. But Kang is the reigning Mortal 
Kombat champion, and he proves it by easily defeating Kahn's minions. But 
it's the apparent death of his friend Kung Lao that enrages Kang and enables 
him to find the strength to defeat Shao Kahn. Then, before the portal closes, 
Liu Kang is greeted by Princess Kitana and thanked for saving the Earth and 
the Outworld."

Nightwolf- "Nightwolf helps other Earth warriors escape to his sacred land. 
Once there, they regroup and form a plan of attack against Shao Kahn's 
invasion. Nightwolf has trained hard for this battle. Finally, he faces Shao 
Kahn and emerges victorious. When Earth returns to its normal state, 
Nightwolf peacefully regains the lands his Native American people lost over 
many years. They establish their own proud nation and soon become the great 
leaders of Earth."

Kung Lao- "When Kahn invades Earth, Kung Lao must scrap his plans of 
returning the White Lotus Society. He instead must focus on the new 
tournament. He seeks Liu Kang and together they battle Kahn's forces 
fearlessly. Using the knowledge he obtained as a Shaolin monk, he fights in 
the name of his great ancestor, the original Kung Lao. He emerges victorious, 
but suffers from injuries during the battle with Kahn. Believed to have 
passed away, Kung Lao joins his ancestor in a new life."

Mileena- "When Mileena is murdered, she finds her soul reborn in an evil 
place called the Netherealm. Here, she accepts servitude to an all mighty god 
known as Shinnok. It is Shinnok who allows her soul to be reborn on the 
Outworld. Her loyalty to Shao Kahn is replaced by her fear of Shinnok. 
Mileena plots to overthrow her own father. The ability to read Kitana's mind 
and predict the Earth warriors motives allows Mileena to set up her father's 
downfall. When Kahn is weakened by the onslaught of attacks, Mileena takes 
the opportunity to destroy her father and allow Shinnok to step forward and 
take both realms for his own sinister purposes."

Noob Saibot- "At first a passive observer, Noob Saibot would soon recieve 
orders to side with the evil emperor Shao Kahn. Saibot's leaders in the 
Netherealm want him to join Kahn's battle to gain his trust and to gain 
entrance into the Earth realm. When Kahn drops his guard, Noob Saibot is 
ordered to attack. With both the Earth realm and the Outworld's emperor 
defeated, the fallen elder god known as Shinnok can take both realms and gain 
the power he needs to strike back at the elder gods who banished him into the 
Netherealm."

Rain- "Rain fights valiantly for the emperor Shao Kahn. But it would be 
Kahn's own step daughter, the Princess Kitana, who turns Rain against him. 
Like Kitana, Rain's origins also come from the former realm of Edenia. He 
learns that his father was once a general in Edenia's army and died at the 
hands of Shao Kahn himself. Enraged at the truth of his own history, he joins 
Kitana in allying with the Earth realm warriors. But his allegiance comes 
under question when he mysteriously dissapears during an extermination squad 
attack. To prove his loyalty, he embarked on a suicide mission to destroy 
Shao Kahn and end the menace once and for all."

Scorpion- "Scorpion is inadvertently released from his damnation in hell when 
Kahn's plan to take over that realm goes awry. Free to roam the Earth, 
Scorpion in enlisted by the emperor to aid him in his quest to destroy the 
chosen warriors. But, his allegiance to Shao Kahn falters when he discovers 
one of the chosen warriors to be Sub-Zero. Scorpion has vowed to protect the 
former ninja as restitution for killing his brother. Shao Kahn finds himself 
the victim of his own scheme as Scorpion is forced to turn against him. He 
destroys the emperor and Earth is returned to normal. Scorpion finds himself 
once again roaming the pits of hell, only to one day rise again."

Sindel- "Sindel recieves visions of her true past and turns against Shao 
Kahn. She discovers that her true king was named Jerrod. They once had a 
daughter named Kitana and ruled a realm called Edenia before Kahn took it 
away in their own Mortal Kombat. He used Sindel as a pawn in his quest for 
Earth and took Kitana as his own daughter. But in defeating Shao Kahn, Sindel 
frees Earth. In doing so, she also liberates Edenia and insures a reunion 
with her daughter Kitana."

Reptile- "Reptile is ordered by Shao Kahn to find and kill Kitana. He is 
sucessful in completing his task, but upon returning, finds himself shunned 
by the emperor. Shao Kahn promised Reptile that if he was sucessful, he would 
resurrect Reptile's race. Shao Kahn never had any intention of fulfilling his 
promise. Enraged, Reptile turns against his master and defeats him in battle. 
But by killing his master, Reptile destroys the one chance to ever know his 
true race."

Sektor- "After eventually terminating Sub-Zero, Sektor is attacked by Shao 
Kahn's army. Unfamiliar with the Outworld warriors, Sektor fights back. He 
targets Kahn and all Outworld beings as threats to the Lin Kuei. Kahn's 
minions are no match for Sektor who fights his way into the fortress. Once 
inside, Sektor initiates his self-destruct sequence. The resulting explosion 
is so massive that it closes the portal and returns the Earth back to 
normal."

Smoke- "Smoke was once a friend and ally of Sub-Zero when they both tried to 
escape from being turned into machines by their ninja clan. But, Smoke is 
captured and transformed into a cyborg with a mission to find and kill his 
former partner. But Smoke soon finds himself being pursued by Kahn's minions. 
He learns that he still has a soul, and his true mission is the destruction 
of the Outworld invaders. He defeats Kahn and saves the world, but is forever 
trapped in his artificial body."

Shang Tsung- "When Shao Kahn overtakes the Earth, he needs Shang Tsung to 
help locate the surviving humans. Granted new powers, he soon discovers his 
dark emperor's true plan, as soon as the remaining warriors are disposed of, 
Kahn will take Tsung's own soul. After learning of this, Tsung turns on his 
master. He catches Motaro off guard and defeats Shao Kahn. But before Earth 
can return to normal, Tsung takes all the souls as his own. He will forever 
rule the Earth with his own brand of evil."

Sonya Blade- "Sonya defeats her arch enemy Kano high atop a skyscraper near 
Shao Kahn's fortress. She then comes face to face with the emperor himself. 
In an incredible display of courage, Sonya wins. When the world returns to 
its normal state, Sonya has no trouble convincing her superiors to form the 
OWIA (Outworld Investigation Agency), devoted to protecting the Earth against 
possible future invasions from other realms."

Stryker- "Ignorant of why his soul was spared from the Outworld invasion, 
Stryker recieves a vision from Raiden. He is instructed to travel west. He 
eventually meets the rest of Earth's warriors and learns the true meaning of 
his survival. He travels back to the city he swore to protect. Kahn is 
unfamiliar with this new kombatant and is caught off guard. Stryker defeats 
the warlord and saves the entire planet. The chaos that consumed the city in 
the hours before the invasion are gone."
