Dark Soul (Program Advances) 5- Fallen Angel (Dark Soul) 6- Acknowledgements/About ================================ ________________________________ [1]_P_R_E_F_A_C_E_______________ This guide assumes that you can read, know the terminology of the Rockman EXE series, and do not have problems with spoilers. If you do, don't know what a Program Advance is, or can't understand this, then go read something else. A new addition to the series, Dark Chips are extremely powerful chips capable of allowing you to defeat almost any enemy with ease. ________________________________ [2]_EMBRACE_THE_DARKNESS________ Dark Chips are chips that grant extreme power to the navis that use them. However, in doing so, the navi's soul is damaged along with the link between it and its operator. To harness the power of the Dark Chips, you must first get hit five times in a row without fighting back. Rockman's unison picture's background will turn green, and you will be able to use Dark Chips. Use one, and the darkness will taint Rockman's soul. His maximum HP also decreases by 1. If you use Dark Chips enough, Rockman will eventually become attuned to the darkness, and you will not need to get hit in order to use Dark Chips. This grants you access to the strongest chips in the game, as well as one of the strongest Program Advances. This comes at a price, though- you will be unable to use chips attuned to the light, will not be able to go into Full Synchro or use Holy Panels, and can never leave the darkness. Also, using a Dark Chip results in a glitch each time. Your maximum HP will also still keep dropping as you use Dark Chips. Not that it matters. Your maximum HP won't affect anything if you can kill things before they have a chance to move. Also, when Rockman is defeated and the level of darkness is high enough, he will instead gain 1 HP and activate the Dark Soul. As Rockman DS, he is immune to almost all forms of attack, and will use all sorts of chips on his own. These are the chips that show up when you're in a pinch, or when you've turned completely dark. ~Dark Cannon~ D a a k u K a n o n AOE: [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] [R][>][>][>][>][>] [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Wielded in a similar fashion to the regular Cannon chips. Its power is equal to how much HP you have lost. Considerably less useful if you use a lot of Dark Chips. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that causes all of his buster's stats to be reduced to 1. ~Dark Vulcan~ D a a k u B a r u k a n AOE: [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] [R][>][>][X][O][ ] [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Similar to a regular Vulcan, but with 24 shots. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that causes his directional controls to be reversed. Also, like with other Vulcan chips, you cannot move while firing, so, missing will result in you being unable to dodge a counterattack. ~Dark Spread~ D a a k u S u p u r e d d o AOE: [ ][ ][ ][O][O][O] [R][>][>][O][X][O] [ ][ ][ ][O][O][O] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Similar to a regular Spread Gun, but able to deal 400 damage. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that turns all panels he walks off into swamp panels. ~Dark Bomb~ D a a k u B o m u AOE: [ ][ ][O][O][O][ ] [R][ ][O][Y][O][ ] [ ][ ][O][O][O][ ] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Tossed in a similar fashion to other bombs. It causes a large nine-panel explosion for 200 damage. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that causes him to constantly move backwards. ~Dark Sword~ D a a k u S o o d o AOE: [ ][Y][Y][ ][ ][ ] [R][Y][Y][ ][ ][ ] [ ][Y][Y][ ][ ][ ] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Similar to a Dream Sword, but able to deal damage equal to the highest amount of HP a single enemy has, up to a maximum of 500. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that causes him to constantly move forwards. ~Dark Lance~ D a a k u R a n s u AOE: [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][Z] [R][ ][ ][ ][ ][Z] [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][Z] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Similar to a regular lance, but able to deal damage equal to half of the greatest amount of HP an enemy has, up to a maximum of 999. This is especially useful against enemies with large amounts of HP, such as, indeed, Forte. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, though, he will suffer from a glitch that removes five random chips from his folder. ~Dark Recovery~ D a a k u R i k a b a r i Like a regular Recovery, that heals 1000 HP instead. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that causes him to lose HP constantly, even while at the custom screen. ~Dark Stage~ D a a k u S u t e e j i Your area is filled with Dark Holes, and the enemy area is filled with swamp panels. Extremely useful in obtaining DS navi chips or against enemies with auras or barriers. As soon as Rockman equips this chip, he will suffer from a glitch that causes his custom menu to give him access to one less chip. ________________________________ [3]_POWER_OF_THE_DARK_SOUL______ When your soul becomes tainted enough, you gain the ability to use some of the most powerful chips in the game. This is a list of some of them, with descriptions. ~Noise Storm~ N o i z u S u t o o m u AOE: [ ][ ][O][O][ ][ ] [R][O][Y][O][ ][ ] [ ][ ][O][O][ ][ ] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Possible collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Codes: B, G, Z, * Two eight-hit tornados appear two panels in front of you. They are the two of the most powerful ones in the game. ~Dark Messiah Neo~ D a a k u M e s h i a N e o AOE: [ ][>][>][>][>O][>O] [R][>][>][>][>O][>O] [ ][>][>][>][>O][>O] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Chips: Dark Line *, Bug Chain *, Forte/Forte Another X The return of the EXE2's ultimate PA! It has been weakened considerably, though, and Gospel has been replaced with Rockman DS. Rockman DS uses the Gospel Cannon from Bug Charge to fire three shots on the lines above, below, and in front of him, and Forte then uses Darkness Overload. Each hit does 250 damage, and any single enemy can be hit up to four times. ~Poison Pharaoh~ P o i z u n F a r a o AOE: [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] [R][Y][ ][ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] Key: R- Rockman >- Line of fire O- Collateral damage X- Affected panel determined by enemy's position Y- Affected panel determined by Rockman's position Z- Affected panel (unchanged by positions) Chips: Dark Hole *, Dark Line *, Poison Anubis A Not a dark PA, but the chips used in it are dark, so I'll stick it here anyway. Poison Pharaoh returns once more, even though the navi featured in it departed the series two games ago. The usual sarcophagus with poisonous gas. Still as useful as ever. The sarcophagus has 300 HP, and the poison saps about 50 HP per second. ________________________________ [5]___F_A_L_L_E_N__A_N_G_E_L____ Once you have used become dark, it is possible for you to enter Dark Soul mode. When your HP is reduced to 0 any time after you use a Dark Chip, your HP will instead rise to 1, and Rockman will turn completely black. In Dark Soul mode, Rockman's movement cannot be controlled, and he will use attacks randomly. Any chip that you have used before, be it a dark chip or light chip, can and will be used. There is no limit to what chips Rockman DS will use- he can even use multiple Giga-class chips in the same battle, maybe even using the same one a few times. Also, Rockman DS is invincible to almost all attacks. The only attacks that can get past his defenses are Super-Piercing ones, like Duo's laser, or Forte's Darkness Overload. Even though you are unable to control Rockman DS, you can still upload battle chips and use them as per normal. However, With the movement not under your control, it is much harder to hit enemies with attacks. Dark Soul lasts for 25 seconds. At about 22/23 seconds, Rockman will start flashing blue before returning to his normal condition at 25 seconds. ________________________________ [6]_ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS_/_ABOUT____ =Acknowledgements= The author would like to thank the following people/groups/aliens. -The denizens of the WotN.2ya.com forums/channel For not doing anything much except for spamming his IRC channel. -TrueMallowman For informing the author that Poison Pharaoh is not a dark PA. =About the author= White Dragon Nall is not a bloody American.
