They are called Mavericks. Together, X and Zero, who are Maverick Hunters, step in to defeat Sigma once and for all! 3.Legal Stuff ------------- Just ask permission to use this. if you do, I won't have to bore you and threaten you with legal mambo-jumbo! 4.Controls ---------- These are the game controls: A=Jump\Dash jump with down or <- <-. Note: You can only charge Special Weapons (except Shotoken) by turning off Auto-Charge and Rapid Fire. 6.Capsules ---------- These are the capsules that give you Zero Scramble Upgrades. Zero Scramble: Dash ------------------ Zero performs a powerful dash with sword outstretched. Ride the third moving platform and jump onto a wall above the boss door in Armored Armadillo's lair. Climb the wall to find a blue capsule. Dr. Light will give you the program for Zero Scramble: Dash. Zero Scramble: Rising -------------------- Zero performs a jump with his sword. There is a ledge in Wheel Gator's stage where you can dash-jump past a vertical beam to a wall with a blue capsule above you and a drop below. Go to the capsule and Dr. Light will give you Zero Scramble: Rising. Zero Scramble: EarthGaizer ------------------------- Zero smashes the ground, causing explosions and killing nearby robots. It takes MASSIVE energy. This is the hardest to find. Beat Wheel Gator and go to Morph Moth's lair. Go past the soldiers and into the auto save. Now when the ground turns normal from junk, it should be purple. Drop a Spin Wheel and the ground will break. Drop down and hop over some ledges. The blue capsule will be ahead and Dr. Light will give you Zero Scramble: EarthGaizer. Zero Scramble: Final ------------------- This is actually the easiest one to find if you look up. In Magna Centipede's lair, beat the rock crusher sub-boss. Now, the next room has a square that reads you and drops ice blocks. Jump up the ledge at this point and look for some cracked blocks. You will find a blue capsule. Dr. Light will give you the program for the Zero Scramble: Final. This is the most powerful attack in the game. It is a combination between Dash and Rising, but uses more energy than EarthGaizer. 7.Upgrades ---------- These are the locations of the blue capsules with the body upgrades, in the order of how hard to find they are. Leg Upgrade--Chill Penguin -------------------------- Ha-ha! You CAN'T find it? Man are you an IDIOT. It is right after the spiked ball thingies and IT BLOCKS YOUR PATH!!! Ha-ha-ha-ha! I think I wet myself...This allows you to dash-jump off walls. Ha-ha-ha- oh... Body Armor Upgrade--Flame Stag ------------------------------ ..ha-ha! Okay, I finally got over that last shock. Now another easy one. Go to the second rock area inside. Go through the passage that the excavation beetle blows up and hop on the ledge that goes to a door. Beat Zain. Wow, wasn't that hard! Now when you jump off the ladder, look to your left to find a blue capsule. Wow! We found it! Too bad you can't reach it! Ha-ha-ha-(cough, cough)! Okay, now go back where you started. Instead of going up, dash-jump right by pressing -> ->+A. Wow! On the platform, you can access the capsule that contains the Body Upgrade. Now, that wasn't so hard to do, was it? This halves the damage you take. Arm Upgrade--Spark Mandrill --------------------------- Did you find this? Did you try to get up there? Too Bad! You need the Head Upgrade (see below)! Anyways, it's in the second dark section of Spark Mandrill's lair where you see some cracked blocks that you can smash with your head. In there is the blue capsule with the Arm Upgrade. This allows you to charge special weapons and have a more powerful X-Buster Charged shot. Head Upgrade--Storm Eagle ------------------------- This is very tricky. Go to the tower where you find the Heart and kill all the flamethrowers on platforms. On the tower with explosives blow them up to get an extra life. Yeah! Now climb up the tall girder and slide down. About halfway down dash-jump to another set of explosives. Blow these up and you will receive a small life increase. Now continue through and move down to the blue capsule, which just so happens to contain the fabulous Head Upgrade. This allows you to crack blocks above your head if you need to. It is also needed to get Spark Mandrill's Upgrade (see above). Now you have all four. B. Normal Mode ------------- 1.Boss path\Weaknesses ---------------------- This is the path to take to face the first for Mavericks and their weaknesses: ------------------------ | Vava\ Vile | X-Buster ------------------------ | Chill penguin | Speed Burner ------------------------ | Storm Eagle | X-Buster ------------------------ | Flame Stag | Storm Tornado ------------------------ | Spark mandrill | Shotgun Ice ------------------------ | Spyder\ Serges\ Sigma| S. Ice\S. Burner\R. Shield ------------------------ Highway Stage ------------- Wow, the intro level! Road bump! As you start the stage you'll encounter some spiked ball thingies. If Rapid Fire is disabled, you must shoot them fast or they blow up. Up next you have to jump a bit. On one platform, you must jump and take out the smasher robots with a charged X-Buster shot. They will smash sections of road and you along with it. Jump back down and you'll face a Bee Helicopter. Jump up and kill it with your X-Buster. It takes many hits, dispatches walker robots, and shoots beams. Climb up the wall when it falls and be prepared with a charged X-Buster for the walker robot at the top. Then you'll face another Bee Helicopter. Afterwards, some sections of road will start to crumble and Purple Helicopters will swoop and attack. Kill them for health and life. There'll be an Auto-Save up ahead. Enter it and face a few more Purple Helicopters and other robots. Head into the Auto-Save and prepare for a boss fight with Vile\ Vava. Boss: Vava --------- Everyone complains Vava should be Vile, but I like Vava better. So anyways, to beat "Vava", just jump over him when he charges and let your X-Buster rip on this guy! 2.Chill Penguin --------------- This stage is so EASY! I recommend going here first to get the Leg Upgrade, which is highly useful in later levels. In the beginning, kill all the lumberjacks with a charged shot. Move on to the cave and carefully take out all the bats before moving on to the Auto-Save. Now kill some spiked balls and jump up onto the ledge and kill some more. Climb one last wall and enter the Leg Upgrade capsule. Now you'll see some big freaky Purple Helicopter Robots again. Kill them for health and lives (you REALLY need them?!). Kill the ostrich robots and get in the Auto-Save. Now get in the Ride Armor. If you have the speed Burner, listen up good! Jump up on the ceiling of the cave entrance ahead. Burn the first steel hut you see to find a Heart to increase your life. Drop back into the cave below and kill the Ride Armor Pilots inside and go out of the cave. Don't fall in a pit! Jump up the wall and enter the Auto-Save above. Shoot the snowballs and the snowball shooters. Be careful of the last one, it shoots down at you. Enter the door and Charge up your X-Buster. Go fight the boss! Boss: Chill Penguin ------------------ If you stay on the walls for 99.0579662 % of the battle then Yeah!(clap-clap-clap-clap)Charge up your X-Buster, then when he pauses, hit him and climb back up. If he uses Shotgun Ice, STAY THERE! If he creates Ice Statues, destroy them unless he's weak. He'll just try and attack while you chip away at them. But if he slides, stay on the wall. It hurts! The blizzard does no damage, but he can try and freeze you with a close range attack, or just slide into you. Prize: Shotgun Ice (S.I) 3.Storm Eagle ------------- This level (as truncated from SNES days as it is) jacks up the level (literally) of difficulty tremendously. When I say literally, I mean it. You are in an abandoned airport, where you can fall many times. And you are up really high. I recommended this one next 'cause you get the Head Upgrade and get Storm Tornado. You don't need to use a special weapon for the boss, either. In the opening sequence, you have to follow a system of platforms on a track, and you must also dodge the Helicopter Robots that pick you up and drop you in a pit. You can jump right to kill some shield knights and blow up explosives for life. Don't. Instead, ride to the top-left. When you get to the top, dash- jump by doing <-<-+A. You should land on a platform above your starting point. Go left to find a Sub-Tank. Now go to the bottom, ride the platforms again, and go to the top-right. Jump off and you will land on an airport sign. Walk up it and into the Auto-Save. Now walk under a big tower. You will see some floating platforms with flamethrowers on them. Kill the first one and jump on. When it peaks, jump into a tower and go left for a heart. Fall down to the left and kill another Flamethrower. Hop on the platform, then jump to another. Climb up a steel girder and drop down. About halfway down dash-jump to another set of explosives. Blow these up and you will receive a small life increase. Now continue through and move down to the blue capsule, which just so happens to contain the fabulous Head Upgrade. This allows you to crack blocks above your head if you need to. It is also needed to get Spark Mandrill's Upgrade. Climb up and through the catwalks patrolled by Helicopter Robots and Hardhats. Almost there! Jump into the Auto-Save at the end. Climb the platforms ahead to get to the final level. Destroy the wall-mount cannons and then enter the boss door below! Boss: Storm Eagle ---------------- This guy is a big change of pace from the level he inhabits. If you don't handle with care, he's hard. If you dash, he's easy. Dash when he tries to blow you off the roof. You can attack at the same time. Just put on Rapid Fire and shoot off. If he shoots an egg, destroy it before it hatches into baby birds. If he flies off the screen, he'll dive bomb. You can try and attack while he does this, but you can physically hurt him so much when he doesn't, so give 'him a break. Say 1,2,3, and clip his robotic wings. Oh, and, don't mind the occasional Storm Tornado. Prize: Storm Tornado (S.T) 4.Flame Stag ------------ By the end of this level, you will know why we told you to pay a visit to Storm Eagle FIRST. (If you didn't, SHAME ON YOU!) It's relatively short compared to the others. Climb over the pillars until you see a big flying beetle. You can hop on it and it will fly up to a platform. But it is seemingly useless and it takes too much effort (lazy!). So let it destroy the wall. Go through and kill the cannon on the wall when it doesn't shoot. Climb up the wall and up again and down to an Auto-Save. Let you palms stop sweating; they'll begin again soon. This gets tricky. If you die, I don't blame you unless you try to grab the extra life sitting on the ledge. Climb the walls faster than the living dead and get the heart, kill the robot, and get out of the place alive. You see, lava is rising up under you and you get killed if it touches you. Now go east into the Auto-Save. Hard... Continue on to another beetle. Let it smash another wall. You will have to get out of the way or it will stab you too. Now dash-jump (you know by now) to the ledge with a Body Armor Capsule. Yay! Now go back and trip up the ledge to a door. Go in, Shotgun Ice loaded. Shadow Hunter Base: Zain ----------------------- This nutball is easy. When he lunges at you with his sword, hit him in the back. He is especially vulnerable to your S. Ice. Every 4th. attack, he will spin in place, sword out. This guy's only at half- health. C'mon, beat him! To The Boss ----------- Go out from Zain's lair and drop onto the ledge by jumping left. Wow. Now cross the molten lava by jumping on the pillars. Quickly, or they melt into the lava. Now, climb up the wall, defeating the Green Claws as you go. Go out, over, and down to the Boss! Load up the Storm Tornado! Boss: Flame Stag --------------- This guy is weak BIGTIME to Storm Tornado (see, I told you so!). Jump over his fireballs when you can. Avoid his Speed Burner, and make sure you are on the opposite side of him, so as to leave enough room between him and you. It's hard to predict where he goes, but it's important to try. Once he is halfway dead, he will shoot more powerful fireballs that are blue, and try to smash you on the ground. Good Luck! Prize: Speed Burner (S.B) 5.Spark Mandrill ---------------- This is one tough place. It should be your last stop on the journey to Sigma's Lair. As you enter, the place is filled with Missile Launchers and sparks that line the floor. Follow the paths up, dodging projectiles as you go. When you get to an area with a ladder going down and an Auto-Save ahead, take the ladder down to an area with a Missile Launcher. Defeat it. Now go down another ladder. Behind some blocks you can see a Sub-Tank. Smash the blocks with your Leg upgrade. Grab the Sub-Tank and navigate your way to the Auto-Save again. It gets dark at this point, so tilt your Game Boy to the light like I do. If you're careful, you can see the pathways crystal clear! Now, before a jump, some Fireflies may pass by. Be ready and shoot ahead. You will have to clear some Motorcycle Robots and Ostrich Robots. Climb down the ladders at the end to see daylight, and find the Sub-Boss. Sub-Boss: Thunder Shocker ------------------------ Just dodge its ice rain. If you get stuck, wiggle the + pad to get out. Just shoot him when he falls to the ground and watch for his lightning. Pick up what he drops and leave through the door. The Arm Upgrade, a Heart, and a weird looking guy! -------------------------------------------------- Jump into the Auto-Save. If you move on, you'll encounter some more Motorcycle Robots and Wall-Mount Cannons. You can't avoid damage here, so do the best you can. Jump into another Auto-Save and fight some Turtle cannons. After the first one, go up the wall, dash-jump to the left wall, then dash-jump to the right ledge where you can get a Heart. Jump back down. Go down the ladder and kill the Motorcycles. Wait till they move away from you to go down. Then you will go back to Turtle Cannons. Kill the first one by shooting from afar, then close in to dodge the Parachute Bombs it drops. The second one you should wait behind the second block, then attack and retreat. Keep doing it and you won't take damage. Now climb two more ladders and it will get dark again. Look out for when you see cracked blocks in the ceiling. Even without Fireflies, if you tilt the game they're clear. Butt them to get and Arm Upgrade. Jump over the remaining gaps and kill enemies when necessary. This is the final are, so charge up you and your Sub-Tanks here. Move in! Boss: Spark Mandrill ------------------- If you do not have the Shotgun Ice The SHAME ON YOU!!!!! He is weak to that stuff. Equip it and freeze him. Do not get close range. If he unthaws, he'll dash punch you. Jump over it. Or he could send out Electric Spark. Jump over it. Or he could climb the ceiling, then pounce you and do one or the other. Dash and Jump. Keep freezing him and he will die. Do it repetitively to do more damage and note sometimes when he unfreezes the next two shots won't ice him. Prize: Electric Spark (E.S) 6.Shadow Hunter Base -------------------- On the Stage Select Screen, the Core is now available. Selecting it sends you straight to Spider's Lair. Shadow Hunter Base: Station I ---------------------------- When you enter, head east and kill all the Turtle Cannons by starting to shoot at them, then dash in and kill them to avoid damage. When the Purple Helicopters come in, shoot them from your platform before they close in. There's only 3, so don't freak on me. That would stink. Jump across the platforms and stay on the fourth one when you get on it. Now, this gets hard. Jump as hard as you can, off the edge as soon as it goes as far east as you can. You should make it to the Auto-Save. This area is heavy on cannons. The first Missile Launcher is too high to hit you, so when it stops firing you can jump and shoot a few times 'till it's dead. Easy Peasy! The next Wall-Mount cannon you will have to jump and strike it. Be ready to jump over the fire of the next Missile Launcher; you're too low to dodge it. One more Wall-Mount Cannon on the floor, ironically, that is easy kill and another Missile Launcher to jump and shoot at. Some enemies you can hold down X-Buster (with Rapid Fire on) and jump while shooting. Neat, huh? Well, anyways, climb the last 3 ladders by jump and climb (^+A) and jump once more and through the door. Inside is an Auto-Save. You're gonna need it... Shadow Hunter Zain ------------------ This guy's nickname should be Zain The Pain. Why? In a minute! I'm whipping' him now!... ...okay, I'm done. Just dash under him and hit his back with Shotgun Ice (Toad Man Deja Vu huh dudes and dudettes?). Every 4th. Jump he'll jump and spin on the ground towards you. Take the hit or wall-jump it. To do that simply get on the east wall. As he spins, jump off and over him with the leg upgrade. He'll be dead in no time flat! The Second Half... ------------------ Next you'll pass through an empty room, which will become useful later. The next room is an Auto-Save (this place is full of them). Good. Now, from here till another Auto-Save is full of Spike Cannons, Shield-Bots, and Lasers. First there are Shield-Bots. And that's not hard. So they added some Lasers, who, if you cross their line, shoot at you. And the springs push you in the lasers. Then some new stuff: climb the ladder and use the Electric Spark to take out the enemies, then dash-jump from wall to wall. You may run out, so take a hit and attack if you must! Climb up the ladder into the Auto-Save. The next area, with some practice, is easy! First stand next to the Hardhat and Rapid Fire X-Buster at them 'till they look up and blow up. Kill the Purple Helicopter and the Rolling Spike Ball, then do this for the rest of the enemies until you get to Spider. The last section with a Purple Helicopter, Rolling Spike ball, and two Hardhats is tough, so take it slow. Boss: Spyder ----------- Take this slow too. Try to predict where he'll fall, then shoot him with the Shotgun Ice\Fully Charged X-Buster. He gets faster as the fight goes on, so watch out. One more thing---he can fake a descent, just to drop baby spiders on you. Jump one and shoot them both at once with X-Buster Charged. You don't win a Weapon. Shadow Hunter Base: Station II ----------------------------- After you start the level, you'll have to kill some Shield-Bots and some Bats. The Shield-Bots will lose their shields if you hit them with a charged shot, then you can openly hit them for a few seconds until they get another. Take out the bats first. Now you have to jump some pits here too. Get in the Auto-Save. Jump over the first drop, then jump on to the wall and back to climb the ledge. Now climb the ladder. Instead of taking the platform, unless you need practice with it, climb the left wall. Climb a ladder to your east and jump off the left wall, then shoot a charged shot at the Flying Thingy. Jump over another drop and over to another ladder that leads to a floating platform. You must use it to beat the game. Although you can maneuver it to Shotoken, wait until you get the Rolling Shield so you don't need you Speed Burner. Get it up to the ledge and you can jump off stuff on the way up. Beat another one of those Shielded-Flying Thingies and go right. This is where you get the Shotoken moves. Go down to the second ladder and into an Auto-Save. Go down and fight the General from afar so as not to hit the spikes. Jump over them and go down. Jump and jump down the diagonal row of blocks to the west, avoiding the spikes. This part gets tricky. The next part down you will have to jump WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PLATFORM TO YOUR RIGHT'S BOTTOM! The spikes will kill you if you touch them. Jump off the platform and go right. The next part requires avoiding some Rocket launching Pads, and it's a whopper! Next, kill the little Green Bug, then kill another and hop on a brick. Kill one more and hop to the next brick. Make a long jump over the spikes and land on the ground. Hop over a short strip of spikes and turn off Auto-Charge and Rapid Fire if they're on. Charge up your Speed Burner, then wait. When it's fully charged, jump as far as you can, and release it to land on the platform. Enter the door and put o the options if you want. Select your Storm Tornado, as the next door, is the boss's door. Good Luck! And may you come out-ALIVE! Boss: Serges ----------- First, get on a platform (one or two) and fire the Storm Tornado at Serges's cannons, while dodging his fire. When all of them die, they will blow up and you can shoot Serges. Use Speed Burner or Electric Spark until he blows up. His shots will hit you, then split up into four. The first four split up, down, east, and west, then NW, NE, SW, SE, and vice-versa. Don't fall off the platform or you will die on the spikes. You don't win a weapon. Shadow Hunter Base Station III ------------------------------ This is an easy, short, level. First, get on the first platform. Wait till it comes down, then cling on and hop aboard. Do the same with the second one. On the third one, just before it comes level with you, shoot it to destroy the Flamethrower. Do the same with the fourth and fifth platforms. Wait till the fifth one peaks, then jump off onto the ladder and climb it. Jump into the Auto-Save, and let the battle BEGIN! Sub-Boss: The Mavericks ---------------------- I know, what you, are thinking. And you, are, absolutely right! You must face all four Mavericks again! In order, they are (from top west): (.) (.) (.) ----------- ---------- ------------ | | | | | | | Storm | | Sigma | | Flame | | Eagle | | | | Stag | | | __( )__|________|_(___)___ | | ----------- ------------ (.) (.) ----------- ----------- | | | | | Chill | | Spark | | Penguin | | Mandrill| | | | | ----------- ----------- |_______________________________________________| Sigma can only be fought by beating all four Mavericks. In fact, that's this stage's point. We will start again at the point when you come out of the warp named "Sigma". Beat these bosses any order you like, just beat them! Sigma's Lair ------------ Go through the top warp in the capsule room and it will Auto- Save. Go east and beat both cannons. Climb the ledge and beat two more, then drop down. Beat the bats that are after them and enter the end door to face Sigma. Boss: Sigma ---------- Here he is. THE FREAKIEST-LOOKING MOST EVIL MAVERICK EVER TO BE SEEN IN THE WHOLE DANG UNIVERSE! But he's relatively easy to beat. Just equip Electric Spark. Go in and immediately jump to the top of the wall. And I do mean, the TOP. Sigma may swing his Lightsabre or shoot off some shots. Then he will start climbing the walls, \/\/ and hit you unless you shoot him and jump down. Repeat this and avoid Sigma to beat him. 7.Sigma Showdown ---------------- This is when you face Sigma. Good luck! Shadow Hunter Base: Station IV ----------------------------- As soon as you destroy Sigma, you will listen to Dr. Cain and Zero's little speech and will be immediately sent to Techno's hiding spot. You will enter and walk forward to find Techno. He will act frantic and collapse. Middy appears. Techno explains Sigma used him. He joined his and Middy's CPU to hack Mother Computer. Then he and Middy die. Go to the door to fight Sigma's final form. DON'T be intimidated. Boss: Sigma Giant Body ---------------------- Sigma reveals himself and says he won't win. X says he will win no matter what. Suddenly Sigma's head plugs itself into a Giant Wolf Body. Get on your X-Buster and climb the wall. Most of his attacks will miss. Just charge X-Buster and shoot, then climb up. He is really easy. Do this enough and Sigma will promise revenge and blow up like all the other robots here. Now the credits roll. Watch them. It's entertaining. Hard Mode --------- At the end credits, Middy unlocks Hard mode. What is Hard Mode? It's when you keep your weapons, fight the Highway scene again, 4 new Mavericks, and Sigma once more. Save your game when you get the chance, or else you will lose all your weapons and stuff and that would WHOMP! C. Hard Mode ------------ Notes about the Hard Mode ------------------------- An option for Hard Mode is on the menu, but you are starting the game over, fighting new Mavericks instead of old ones. Select continue to play the old game. The new bosses are below in Section 1. You do keep everything you had last game, and you can get two new Sub-Tanks, four more Hearts, Zero Scramble Attacks, and the Shotoken. The bosses aren't that difficult, except for Wheel Gator. 1.Boss Path\Weaknesses ---------------------- This is the recommended path to take and the Mavericks weaknesses next to their names. ----------------------- | Vava\ Vile | X-Buster ----------------------- | Morph Moth | Speed Burner ----------------------- | Magna Centipede | Silk Shot ----------------------- | Armored Armadillo | Electric Spark ----------------------- | Wheel Gator | Magnet Mines ----------------------- |Spyder\ Serges\ Sigma| S.Ice\ S.Burner\ R.Shield. ----------------------- Highway Stage ------------- Same as before. But you can use old weapons instead of just X- Buster. There'll be an Auto- Save up ahead. Enter it and face a few more Purple Helicopters and other robots. Head into the Auto-Save and prepare for a boss fight with Vile\ Vava. Boss: Vava --------- Try using other stuff this time around, like S. Tornado! Same theory as before, though. 2.Morph Moth ------------ As you enter, charge your X-Buster and make the guys' shields flip, then kill them. After three climb up a ledge, kill the robot, get the Life and Heart, then jump in the Auto-Save. Now, if you have beaten Wheel Gator, equip the Spin Wheel and slice away the purple ground with it (after the junk). Go down and keep slicing to find a secret passage. Climb over the bumps to a capsule. Dr. Light will give you the Zero Scramble EarthGaizer. I hadn't found it until later, and you wouldn't without this! Go back out and climb up the ledges by dash-jumping past the Blue-Junk robots. Go up and out. Enter the Auto-Save and get ready for a fight! Sub-Boss: Pink robot+Junk Bot ----------------------------- You will face this guy twice in this level. I call him Bigfatpaininthebutt Mark 1. Take out the Junk Bot with two Storm Tornadoes, dashing under him when necessary. Then kill Bigfatpaininthebut by launching two more. Take what he drops and leave. "On The Road again. Da-da-da-dahdahdahda! ----------------------------------------- After you kill him is another Auto-Save! The next part is a pain! There are spikes everywhere. On the bottoms of the platforms and the floor. But these don't kill you. So take out the Claw Bugs, Junk-Bots, and step to the ladder. Keep moving through the next section. Again, take out the Junk-Bots. But the Claw Bugs her grab you and make you hop up and down. They eventually let go and do no damage, so kill them if you can and go down to the door. Sub-Boss:Bigfatpaininthebutt Mark 1 ----------------------------------- He's back. Do what you did before. Go through the door. Sub-Boss: General ---------------- How many are we gonna have?! This guy basically sends himself to the scrap pile. Because of the ledge you are on, his shots won't reach you! Gun his head and watch him fall. One last door. Wah00! ---~~- This is the corridor before the boss. If most of your Sub-Tanks are full, use one to get some much-needed health. And, one last thing, charge up your Speed Burner! Boss: Morph Moth --------------- Finally! You made it! Easy, EAsy, EASY! This guy has two stages: Robot Cocoon and Morph Moth. He starts as Robot Cocoon. When the battle starts, he'll drop to the ground and roll up, spinning across the floor. Set him on fire (wow!) and climb up the wall to dodge him and his junk spray. When he fires his big junk spray, jump on the walls and over him to avoid it somewhat, or just take a hit. When he goes up in flames at half-health, he will turn into Morph Moth! Just don't mind his attacks unless you A.) Need all the health you can get or B.)Are a Megaman connoisseur! Just burn him up (yay?). Prize: Silk Shot (S.S) 3.Magna Centipede ----------------- This stage is so GAY! It has two or three enemies, and some alarms, topped with two Sub-Bosses and a Boss for a cherry on top! Must be a bitter cherry... ...okay, when you go in, trip the Flying-Shielded Robot to make it move. when it turns around, kill it! Do the same to the next ones. Now, stay away from the round, yellow, orb-like alarms. They don't hurt you, but they drop blocks that shoot stuff. Otherwise they harmlessly hang on the ceiling like Blue-Junk Bots. Go ahead, touch them. But don't set off the last alarm! It will make a block drop you need to get a Heart! If you do, run back and forth to the Auto-Save until it reappears. Then cling onto it and pick up the Heart in the cranny above. When you hit the Auto-Save, ouhh.. I don't like it one bit. This part requires block jumping. For the first two sets, don't move; once they stop, shoot the pink one and go through. The next two sets, jump on them, then kill the pink block that ensues. At the end of this commotion is a ledge. Jump up and climb on it. It's hard. Go up to get a Sub-Tank. Jump down, into an Auto-Save and into a door. Ha-Ha. Sub-Boss: Rock Crusher --------------------- This guy is a pain. Lots to jump over. He'll flash once to signal he is at Level 1. Then he'll jump, pause, and shoot three fireballs. They are small and slow so jump them and hold down your X-Buster. He will repeat this, and shoot big fireballs on the ground. Jump over these too. And make sure he, when he jumps, doesn't land on YOU! That's good. Pick up what he drops and go through the door. (I need a recording of that!) This really sets me off (literally)! ------------------------------------ Okay, exit and go down the hole and kill some creatures. What the heck the alarms are for? I don't know. Go east and do not get read by the radar. You'll see. it blows up after three times, but that's bad. Dodge the falling ice blocks and go up to the top of the room. Headbutt the six blocks to find the Zero Scramble Final capsule. Head (no pun) back down and manage your way to an Auto-Save and a door. Mysterious! Sub-Boss: Clone -------------- This guy is the same as before, but he gets more powerful each time the radar hits you. He flashes that many times +1. be careful: he's fast and he can jump on you. Deja Vu and leave. I wanna play with blocks more! ------------------------------ I DON'T! It's easy, really. Just dash under the blocks, over the pits, and they'll fall in behind you. Or jump on them and off, but it's harder that way. Enter the door at the end to fight Magna Centipede. Boss: Magna Centipede -------------------- Easy. Might as well be Chill Penguin. Here's what to do. Put on your Silk Shot and blow off his tail. Dash under his lunges and ignore or dodge his shots. He's Toast. If he doesn't lose his tail\you don't have Silk Shot, he uses magnets and you can't charge! Door 1 or 2, people? Prize: Magnet Mines (M.M) 4.Armored Armadillo ------------------- In the beginning, get on the mine cart. It will kill all the enemies it touches. Get off right when you kill the third ostrich robot and you should fly into an Auto-Save. Good. The next part, massacre the bats with your Silk Shot. Slide down the ledge and up to avoid the Armadillo Excavator. Kill it, headbutt the blocks above the ledge you saved. (yay!) Grab the life restore and go back to the AE cove to find a Sub-Tank. The next part you must jump over some spikes. Now, you may be wondering where the Sub-Boss is. There is none! Yay! Now, into the Auto-Save. Keep out the bat massacre (Silk Shot) and kill some small enemies in the next area. Hop over the spikes and onto the next cart. Jump off before you land on the spikes and Silk Shot away. Now go down and fight another Armadillo Excavator--do it fast or you'll never get the heart in the alcove that is above you as you move forward. The next area is all spikes, no enemies, so take your time and be cautious. First is an Auto-Save after the first pit. At the end is one more AS and another, mandatory though, cart, a few easily killed enemies. Jump off, climb a ledge to find a capsule for Zero Scramble: Dash, and back down to Armored Armadillo. Boss: Armored Armadillo ---------------------- Equip the Electric Spark and make sure you have a little Sub-Tank energy just in case. As soon as the fight begins, shoot the Electric Spark at him with Rapid Fire on and he'll lose his armor and get electrocuted. Otherwise he blocks 66% of your shots. The averages for the percentage are accurate to the nearest 0.1. Now all he will do is bounce around the room and fire plasma shots. Use Shotgun Ice\X-Buster. If you get plasma Cannon, just jump when they are close. If you jump on the wall he will shoot longer. To avoid his Rolling Shield, jump over him and if he bounces toward you dash away. Keep beating on him. This guy is my favorite. Prize: Rolling Shield 5.Wheel Gator ------------- This whole level and the Boss is a pain. Start by going east and killing the two Rocket Launch Pads and the Rockets they shoot. Go down the two ladders at the end. Kill another Rocket Launch Pad. Now go to the end of the ledge. Wait. Climb the wall, then dash-jump to the other wall. Climb it to get to the capsule with Zero Scramble: Rising. Fall back down and go down the hole to a spike pit and a moving platform. Jump on the platform and relax for a second. Don't push any buttons. The platform will slide under a wall at the end and you'll fall on another platform hovering over another deadly spike pit. Let it take you west a short distance. Climb up on the wall and jump up onto the top. Jump off into an Auto-Save. We're just getting started... Oh Goody! Ride Armor; I love this hunk o' burnin' love! Get in it. Now! Bust out the column in front of you with a punch or two. Jump up and power the jet, then jump down another hole. This place just winds around itself. Kill the first two Ride Armor pilots, without losing your armor. Jump over a hole and kill another Ride Armor pilot. Get out of the armor and go into the Auto-save. Jump up the ladder and charge up your Rolling Shield. Jump up and over the spikes for a Heart. Kill the Shield-Bot by knocking off his shield. Go over the hill and jump on the platform. Try to kill the Shield-Bots on the way up; it's just for kicks. Now you have two choices. You can jump off under some spikes to a passageway and avoid Geemel, which we'll cover later, or ride it to the top. Grab the extra life and go through the door to fight Geemel. If you took the low route to avoid Geemel, push CRTL+F and type The Low Road. Sub-Boss: Geemel --------------- This guy is easy. He has only his energy bar. Jump over his boomerang and move around when he teleports. Deja Vu and leave (a lot easier). The Low Road ------------ For those lazy people who didn't bother to fight Geemel, this is the way you went. Do not jump off the platform unless you are a body space under the passage or the spikes will kill you. Now, in the next room, your Shield-Bot handling skills are paying off. Kill one and hop on the ledge behind you. Climb a wall and dash-jump another ledge. Defeat another Shield-Bot. Climb up the wall and dash-jump off to the ledge. Jump down and get in the Auto-Save. Now go the end of the path and kill a Motorcycle Robot. Jump down and wait until you see another Motorcycle Robot's head faintly then jump down and kill it. This is where you come out after fighting Geemel. The two paths meet. The Two Paths Meet ------------------ At the end of the path is a hill. Go down and kill the Rocket Launching Pads as necessary. Where there is a fork in the road go east to get two more RLP's and an energy piece behind a tower. Go back to the fork and go west. This is an Auto-Save. Grab a large energy piece then drop when you like. Sub-Boss: General ---------------- A few shots and he's down. Same as last time. Deja Vu (wow!) and leave. The Final Door -------------- Down the corridor is the door to Wheel Gator's lair. Boss: Wheel Gator ---------------- This guy is a total pain! Equip Magnet Mines. First he summons lava and then shoots two sawblades. To avoid this anytime, hop on the wall. When it gets close, dash-jump onto the other one and jump off when he shoots it. Jump over his normal shots, but time carefully or if you miss his upward, you'll be hit by his across. When he's under the lava he'll come up. If he chomps you, push L, R, and A, continuously to get out. When he's at half his bar he'll wind up and charge at the wall. Jump to make him go high, then get away before he lands. If he flashes you can't hit him, so be careful not to waste energy! Prize: Spin Wheel (S.W) 6.Shadow Hunter Base -------------------- Yay! Now you must go into the Shadow Hunter Base again with some minor alterations. Good Luck! Shadow Hunter Base: Station I ---------------------------- Ah, the familiar replica of Sigma's Fortress I from Normal Mode. I love this stage! First go right and kill the Turtle Cannon. Rush in and kill it. Then kill another. For the last one, stand on the little edge you have on the platform and go wholesale destruction! Kill the Flying Purple Robot with your Buster, then hop on the moving platform. This takes serious legwork if you want to do it right. Jump on the second platform. Jump up to kill the Flying Purple Robots. There's either one or two depending on how far left or right you are. Now fly back to it. If you fall hit the edge. Jump to the third one and cling to the fourth with a high jump. Get on. Now wait for it to go as far as it can go then jump long to and Auto-Save. If you didn't time it right or missed, cling on the ledge, push left, jump, and cling. Repeat until you soar over the top. Enter the Auto-Save. This area is heavy on cannons. This first Missile Launcher is too high to hit you. Once it fires both of its shots, jump and shoot, then get low. You can kill it easily. Hit he next Cannon by charging a shot and jumping, then firing. You have to jump to avoid the Missile Launcher's shots, so be careful. The next Cannon is on the floor. Shoot it and jump to avoid its fire. Now do the same with the Missile Launcher. Jump onto the next three ladders. Jump again at the top and enter the door to the next room. You fought Zain here long ago. It's empty now. Go through to a boss fight. Load up Silk Shot. You'll be glad you did. Sub-Boss: Geemel --------------- This guy's back and he's more of a pain now. But he is rather easy. You'll need three weapons and your thumbs may be worn out. Have full Speed Burner and Silk Shot, and at least six Spin Wheels. Start by getting on the wall and firing Silk Shots. Get down and go to the opposite wall if he teleports. Then, when you run out, use Spin Wheel. It won't go away until he teleports, so it does a lot of damage. You could also use Shotgun Ice from up on the wall, since it fires three ways if it hits a wall. After he loses half his energy bar, he will get on a magic-carpet like thing. Just hit him with Speed Burner and he will fall off and get burned. Keep doing it without touching him much and you'll fry him in no time! The Second Half... ------------------ Defeat the Shift-Bots by standing before the springs and jumping over their maces. Don't hit the lasers when they are red or the guys will shoot you. Jump up the ladder. Use the Electric Spark on the Shift-Bots and Needle Cannons to take them out before jumping on the ledges. Jump on the ladder at the top. Climb it up to an Auto-Save. Go through the small opening at the bottom of your screen. I hate this part. Stand on the edge of all the hills and fire your shots at the Hardhats until they look up. Then jump over the others' fire. Shoot the Purple Robots and Rolling Spike Balls. Enter the door at the end for, *gasp*, another long battle. Boss: Spyder ----------- Okay, the lowdown; get out the Shotgun Ice. Spyder is MAJOR weak to it. Web lines will appear on four, long, thin bars stretching from the ceiling to the floor. Spyder will drop from the left, middle, or end of the room. Then he will take any bar that goes across. Try to predict his path and attack. He has on vulnerability; he will open his eye at the bottom. Then you can shoot him. One more thing: Sometimes he will feign a descent to drop 2 small Spiders on you. Jump one and shoot them both in a row with the X-Buster, or just avoid them. No prize is awarded. Shadow Hunter Base II --------------------- Go right. As soon as the bat swoops, kill it. Then charge a shot and kill the Shield-Bot. Now take out the next one quickly before the bat strikes. Kill it. Now take out one more Shield-Bot, jump over the pit and into the Auto-Save. Jump over another pit. Here's the next stunt; Jump off and into the wall, then dash off and onto the ledge above. Not TOO hard. Jump on the ladder. Unless you want some practice, jump off the left wall on to the ledge. Jump on the ladder and charge up your Rolling Shield. You'll need it for another third of the place. Climb the wall and jump into the Flying Shielded Robot. You'll kill it. Jump down the pit and go over the spikes to kill another one. Go back up the pit and jump up a ladder you'll really need the Shield for. Here is the detailed instructions for maneuvering the platform up to the Shotoken moves. Move the platform left and up quickly or it will hit the ledge. Move it right before it hits the ledge. Move it down and left, then up. Move it right before it hits another ledge. Move down, left, and up quickly to get through. Move it right, down, and left. Now move it up and let yourself fall or jump off. Now jump off the left wall and cling to the small ledge to your right. Get on and go up the right wall, then fly onto the ledge above the platform. Step on it and jump on the ledge to your immediate right. When the platform hits the right wall, move it down. Then move it left and up in a split-second. Now it may get stuck at the top. Move it right, down, left, and up really fast. If your Rolling Shield is still on, you'll kill the Flying Shielded Robot. Now move it right as soon as you get close to the ceiling. Jump up on the ladder and you can find the Shotoken moves not too far ahead. Enter the Auto-Save and make sure your Rolling Shield is on. Jump over the ledge to another. Now walk over the spikes. Go over another small patch of spikes. Jump up the hills. Jump on some more spikes and jump down a hole. Jump down another hole and land on the ledge below. Jump off and cling to the left wall. After three big black blocks and some piping, you'll reach a tunnel in a half-block. Go through it and the capsule for the Shotoken moves. See Section 5 Weapons. If You Didn't Get Shotoken: --------------------------- Go down the ladder down instead. Enter the Auto-Save. When you jump down and fight General again. Now jump over the spikes and go down. Catch the four blocks and slide down to avoid all the spikes. Kill the Rocket Launching Pad. Go down the ladder. This part stinks. Fall down the left wall, then jump off onto a platform. don't touch the spikes on the bottom. Now get the Rolling shield on. You can jump over all the RLP's until the point where you come out from where the Shotoken moves are. Jump in the Auto-Save. Back On The Road ---------------- Charge up the Rolling Shield and you can kill all the Green Bugs and clear the spikes until you get to the boss door. Boss: Serges ------------ This guy is !Mucho Paino! First, get out the Storm Tornado. Blow off his cannon with two shots each. Each cannon has its own different Fireball Attack, so be careful and dodge them all. Next, get out the Speed Burner and keep layin' it on to kill him. Shadow Hunter Base III ---------------------- This is an easy, short, level. Sub-Boss: The Mavericks ----------------------- I know, what you, are thinking. And you, are, absolutely right! You must face all four Mavericks again! In order, they are (from top west): [Wheel Gator] _ _ [Magna Centipede] _(_)____(_)_ [Armored Armadillo] [Morph Moth] Sigma's Lair ------------ When you beat all four mavericks, grab the health meters and go in the warp at the top of the platform. You can dispose easily with the Bats and Cannons here with the Silk Shot's random firing pattern that hits the whole room over. Go face Sigma. Boss: Sigma ---------- The best weapons here? Use Rolling Shield or Electric Spark. If you want a constant fire, use Spin Wheel, because it repeatedly strikes as it rolls, or stands on a boss. For a wide range, use Shotgun Ice or Silk Shot because it hits all over, even when he's on the ground. Speed burner and X-Buster are last resorts. But don't use Magnet Mine unless it's your last weapon. All of these fire behind you on a wall, so fire before jumping. 7.Sigma Showdown ---------------- This is where you (again, sigh...)face Sigma. Good luck! Shadow Hunter Base IV --------------------- You don't play the storyline with Middy\Techno in the last two levels of SHB IV! Thank God! Just go into Sigma's lair. He isn't any different than before, so take it slow. But use Rolling Shield on Rapid fire and have at least a full Sub-Tank for emergencies. Good Luck! The End! -------- Well, you beat the game. But there is one more thing to do. Beat Xtreme Mode! D. Xtreme Mode ------------- 1."What Is Xtreme Mode?" ------------------------ In this mode, you play all 8 Mavericks at once and the four Shadow Bases, without any storyline, cut-outs, characters, except for Dr. Light and the capsules. But, you must get EVERYTHING over again in the stages, and even the Shotoken moves! So get goin'! 2.Changes In Xtreme Mode ------------------------ -You must get your weapons, upgrades, Zero Scrambles, and Shotoken again. -You can face the harder Mavericks before the Easier Mavericks, like Morph Moth before you face Chill Penguin. Have fun. -You do play the Highway Stage -You only face the Shadow Hunter's base once, and you face 8 mavericks in the capsule room. -Sigma has a lightning attack that climbs the wall. -Sigma's claws occasionally teleport. -At the end of the game, don't save (see: 4.The End). -In SHB I, you face Zain and Geemel in a row. 3.Boss Path\Weaknesses ---------------------- The order you should face the bosses and weaknesses: A. Vava(X-B), Chill Penguin(X-B), Storm Eagle(X-B), Flame Stag(S.T), Spark Mandrill(S.I), Morph Moth(S.B), Magna Centipede(S.S), Armored Armadillo(E.S), Wheel Gator(M.M), Spyder(S.I), Serges(S.T.\S.B), Sigma(E.S\R.S). B. Vava, Chill Penguin, Storm Eagle, Flame Stag, Morph Moth, Magma Centipede, Wheel Gator, Spark Mandrill, Armored Armadillo, Spyder, Serges, Sigma. New Sigma Strategy ------------------ Sigma has new techniques this time, so you might want to have at least three Sub-Tanks full and full Rolling Shield, and you might use the claws to dodge his wall lightning. Good Job! You beat him! 4.The End --------- You won the game. At the end of the credits, Sigma vows revenge and then you can save your game. Don't. It will erase all the progress you have made in Xtreme Mode. Instead, push B and clear the Auto-Save data you have. Start the game up again and you can play all the levels (except bosses), or just restart. Now, if you think this is the end of the guide, there is a bonus section about Special Tips, a Sub-Menu, and a Version history. Keep reading! E. Other Stuff ------------- * Special Tips -------------- You can dash-jump longer by pushing the direction (< or >) you want to go twice and hold a on the second push. The place after the Leg capsule in Chill Penguin's stage is a great place to fill up on Sub-Tank energy and extra lives. The Head capsule is out of view on Storm Eagle's stage. Look closely and look for Hardhats populating the area near it. It doesn't serve much beyond fun, but you can get on Excavation Beetle's heads by jumping. You can reach a useless platform this way. To dodge Zain's Spinning Blade, get on the right wall and when he is mid-way through jump over it, then under his next jump. It's a workout! Did You Know: Zelda Oracle Of Seasons is made also in part by Capcom, that's why Onox and Veran are hard, long fights. Look around; you may find a secret you missed or discover something new. It doesn't hurt. Red platforms always maneuver left, up, right, down, and change direction when you jump on them. # Sub-Menu ---------- This menu shows the sections split up by Sub-Bosses or Road Forks.
