Story ############################################################################### While Uncle Scrooge naps, Donald Duck is flipping through some old books in the library. Waaack! Out falls a strange piece of paper from one of the books. It's a long-lost message from King Garuzia, the old-time ruler of the Great Duck Kingdom. He's hidden his most prized possession somewhere on earth. And he's left a map that leads to its whereabouts! "I could be rich! Richer than Uncle Scrooge," Donald thinks to himself. But Big Bad Pete and his Ducky Gang are lurking outside the window. They're about to snatch the map, but Donald dashes away, safe for the moment. "Donald, you're late!," Daisy scolds. "But Daisy, something fabulous is waiting for me!" Donald squawks. "If I can find it, it will be a terrific surprise for you. I'll tell you all about it when I get back!" If he comes back! Donald has no idea what dangers surround the hunt for the Great Duck Treasure. He only knows that he'll do anything to find it... Six gauges are displayed at the bottom of the screen and their purposes are explained below. Power ----- 5 of its 8 circles are initially powered up. Each time you get hit by an enemy or obstacle, you lose a circle. Whenever you grab Food items, your Power Gauge's circles will be restored. Temper ------ Its 5 circles are initially empty. Each time you grab a Red-Hot Chilli Pepper, you fill a circle. When the Temper Gauge is full, Donald has a Quack Attack. This ability makes him invincible and enables him to charge past enemies, but it only lasts for a few moments. Donald ------ This shows the number of lives you have. When you start the game, you'll begin with 3 lives. If the Power Gauge empties, you'll lose a life. If you crush yourself or fall into bottomless pits, you'll also lose a life. If you lose all your lives, the game ends, but two options will appear on the Game Over screen. If you lose all your lives, you'll continue the game from the last Check Point you passed. When you return to a previously visited land, you'll be dropped off at that land's Check Point. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Weapons/Items Screen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= When you press the Start Button on the Overworld screen, you'll be sent to the Weapons/Items screen. Walkthrough ############################################################################### When you press the Start Button at the Title Screen, you'll be sent to the Main Menu. There are 2 options (Start and Options) to choose from. Select the former and you'll be introduced to the game's story. When you are sent to the World Map, you'll only be able to access 'Duckburg', 'Mexico' and 'Transylvania', but as you progress through the game, you'll unlock new lands. NOTE: You can travel to places that become unlocked even if I don't cover them in the Walkthrough until later. For example, you can travel to Transylvania first instead of going to Duckburg and Mexico, but you won't be able to proceed through the game until you go to Duckburg and Mexico. =============================================================================== 6.01 - Duckburg =============================================================================== Once you arrive in Duckburg, head right for your first confrontation with one of the members of Pete's Ducky Gang. Jump up to avoid attacks and stun the henchman with your Yellow Plunger. Continue going right while stunning the enemies. When you come across a ladder, press up on the +Control Pad to climb up it. Go up the ladder quickly to avoid a henchman's attack. After climbing up the ladder, grab the 5 Red-Hot Chilli Peppers nearby. Donald will have a Quack Attack. He'll charge past the enemies, but it only lasts for a few moments. When Donald stops moving, jump over the dustbins and avoid the caterpillars that spring out of them. As you approach a high wall, a citizen informs Donald that you can't continue onward without the right tools to climb high walls. Journey to Mexico. =============================================================================== 6.02 - Mexico =============================================================================== After selecting Mexico as your destination, you'll arrive in the country. The enemies are harder to defeat than the ones in Duckburg. Stun the cacti nearby to protect Donald from its explosion. Watch out for Pete's henchmen and buzzards carrying bee hives. Continue going right until you see some quicksand. The scorpions throw boxes into the air, so I advise jumping onto the boxes before the scorpions throw them. After getting past another cacti, you'll enter the second area. Jump from platform to platform. You'll notice that a turtle with boxing gloves on it. These turtles hide in their shells when they see you. Stun them quickly to stop them in their tracks. Continue going right. When you see a dynamite detonator, jump to dodge the vibrations. When you reach the third area, Sweet Senorita will inform Donald that you need the Hero Key to enter the Aztec Ruins. The citizen in Duckburg might know about the Hero Key. When you return to Duckburg, speak with the citizen. He gives you the Hero Key. After leaving Duckburg, return to the place. The citizen informs you that Goofy has the tools to climb the high walls. Goofy is in Mexico visiting the Aztec Ruins. Go back to Mexico and use the Hero Key to open the entrance to Aztec Ruins. When you enter Aztec Ruins, you'll see two floating flames. Jump over them to avoid getting hurt. Head right until you come across a ladder. After climbing up the ladder, go left and you'll see a line of floating flames. When the final floating flame enters the floor, walk onto the platform. Walk to the right to avoid getting hurt by the flames. Wait for the flames to enter the floor again before walking off the platform. As you go left, you'll see a moving block nearby. When it descends, stun it with your Yellow Plunger. Jump onto it and go to the next platform. When the second moving block ascends, go up the platforms. Stun the block before jumping onto it and using as a platform to jump over to the right. As you go right, two Aztec warriors will attack. Stun them while avoiding their flamethrowers. Once you arrive at a ladder, Donald will be safe from their attacks. Press down on the +Control Pad to go down the ladders. When you are going down the second ladder, wait for the flames to pass by first. Now go right and grab the 4 Money Bags nearby. In order to proceed further into the ancient ruins, press down on the +Control Pad and press the C Button to slide through the small pathway. While in this position, Donald can still shoot his weapons. Use the moving blocks as platforms by stunning them. Slide back and forth in the next pathways. Stun the green blocks before sliding past them. When you come to a long pathway, you'll find Goofy nearby. Goofy informs Donald that he found a strange note and a red plunger. He hands them over to you. Gyro is looking for Donald, so it's time to head back to Duckburg. With the Red Plunger in Donald's possession, you can now reach the rooftops of Duckburg. Go back the way you came to end up back at the entrance to the Aztec Ruins. Head for Duckburg. =============================================================================== 6.03 - Duckburg Revisited =============================================================================== When you return to Duckburg, use the Red Plunger to climb up the wall. As you climb in the next area, you'll notice a loud speaker emitting "BOOM". The "BOOM" can hurt Donald, so be careful. Jump across the buildings with caution. Pete's henchmen are ready to attack. Make sure you use the Red Plunger to avoid falling into bottomless pits. In the second area, you'll have to hang onto electricity wires to find Gyro Gearloose. Grab onto the first wire. When you see the second one, jump onto it. Continue doing this with the remaining wires. Once you meet up with Gyro, he'll give you bubblegum ammo for your shooter. You can use your new Bubblegum Shooter to infiltrate Count Dracula's Castle in Transylvania. Jump onto the final wire nearby to go back to the start of the area. Exit the rooftops and travel to Transylvania. =============================================================================== 6.04 - Transylvania =============================================================================== When you arrive in Transylvania, you'll see one of Pete's henchmen waiting for you. He'll shoot a gooey substance at you. Watch out for the bats which are the Transylvanian equilvant of the buzzards in Mexico. Unlike the quicksand in Mexico, landing in the water here results in you losing a life. Practice your jumps and time your moves. Donald will set a flag when he notices the famous Count Dracula's Castle. When you enter Count Dracula's Castle, a ghost will advise you to blow up the wall nearby with your Bubblegum Shooter. After doing this, climb up the next wall. Ghosts will emerge from the mirror, so I advise waiting for them to float past before continuing onward. Use the Bubblegum Shooter to destroy the barrels. Climb up the wall nearby. A ghost will approach you. Stay at the edge of the pathway and the ghost will disappear. As you come across some coffins, skeletons will emerge from them and attack. Take them out with the Bubblegum Shooter. Ignore the picture of Dracula; it won't affect your progress. Jump into the hole and you'll enter the next area. Now you're underwater. The spikes and chained balls here can hurt you. When the chained balls go to the right, press the C Button to rush past them. The crushing blocks ascend to the ground very fast. Rush past them to avoid being crushed. Grab the four items including Corn and a Turkey. When you climb up the last wall, you'll find yourself in a room with a big ghost. You can't defeat the ghost; you must use the Bubblegum Shooter to reveal a platform. The platform will take you up to where there is a door. Enter it to arrive at the next area. Go right to escape from the ghosts. Duck in the holes to avoid them. When you come across a high wall, climb up it quickly to avoid getting crushed. In the next area, you'll meet the big ghost again. Go to the second set of blocks. Climb up them and enter the door at the top. Count Dracula is here. It's time for your first boss battle! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Battle: Count Dracula - 5 Hits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes and Strategy ------------------ Dracula will remove his cape and set four bats on you. Position Donald under Dracula. When he removes his cape, shoot up with your Red Plunger. If you're very fast, you can stun the bats and attack Dracula at the same time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once you defeat Count Dracula, you'll receive the real treasure map. When a door appears, go through it to end up back outside the castle. =============================================================================== 6.05 - Maharajah =============================================================================== Having recovered the real treasure map, you now have access to four new lands - Maharajah, Egypt, Viking Ghostship, and South Pole. To continue your treasure hunt, you must travel to Maharajah first. Pete's henchmen and the boxing turtles will drop Red-Hot Chilli Peppers when you stun them. Watch out for the snake charmers who can stun Donald for a moment. When Donald has a Quack Attack, run past the enemies. Climb the walls and follow the path until you find the Big Maharajah's Palace. Donald will set a flag. You can call the airplane and explore the other new lands if you want to. If you want to get this business dealt with as soon as possible, walk into the Maharajah's Palace. The Maharajah challenges you to defeat the tiger in the garden. If you can do this, she'll give you the Sphinx Tear. Go right to go further into the palace. Stun Pete's henchman before dropping down to the left and entering Door Number 1. Use the Popcorn Shooter to take out the boxing turtle. Walk into Door Number 5. Head left to Door Number 2, but don't enter it. Jump over it and climb up the wall. Slide your way into Door Number 2. Attack the snake charmers with popcorn before going right into the pathway. Enter Door Number 6 to confront the tiger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Battle: The Big Maharajah's Tiger - 6 Hits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes and Strategy ------------------ When you enter the arena, the Tiger won't move until you approach it. Equip your Bubblegum Shooter; it's the easiest way to hit the Tiger. When the Tiger is standing on the ground, it is invincible. When it jumps around the arena, stay in the centre of the screen and fire your Bubblegum Shooter. The Tiger will sometimes jump onto one of the two platforms above. It will launch two flamethrowers at you from there. If the Tiger is on the eastern platform, it will breathe fire diagonally towards the left and vice versa. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you automatically return to the Big Maharajah's Palace, she'll give you the Sphinx Tear as promised. You can use this item to open the entrance to the Pyramid in Egypt. =============================================================================== 6.06 - Egypt =============================================================================== Pete's henchmen are waiting for you here. Stun them to get some Red-Hot Chilli Peppers. Donald will have a Quack Attack. If you lose a try, the number of Peppers Donald has will be saved, so you can collect 5 of them easily. When you come to a maze, you'll have to get past the boxing turtles. Use the Bubblegum Shooter to get rid of them. The Shooter works even if they hide in their shells. When you go through the quicksand, Pete's henchmen will appear. Watch out for them emerging from the quicksand. Take out the final henchman on the ground to get a turkey. Use the Sphinx Tear to open the entrance to the Pyramid. When you appear in the Pyramid, equip the Red Plunger. Climb up the walls and follow the path. Climb up the moving walls quickly to avoid being crushed. When you come across a ladder, climb up it. Ignore the spikes nearby and climb up the eastern wall using the Red Plunger. Grab the 4 Food items and go half-way up the western wall before climbing up the eastern wall. In the next area, you'll have to get jump from platform to platform. Falling into the fire results in you losing a try. After the first set of platforms, run quickly to avoid falling. Run quickly again to avoid the flames. Now the platforms will collapse after Donald stands on them. Hop across them quickly. Run quickly to avoid the flames again. Jump from platform to platform quickly to avoid the flames. In the next area, run quickly through the pathway to avoid a flamethrower. Continue running to avoid all the flamethrowers. Climb up the walls and hold right on the +Control Pad to avoid falling into the fire at the end. You'll now have to solve the Riddle Of The Sphinx. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Battle: The Riddle Of The Sphinx - 0 Hits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes and Strategy ------------------ Although this isn't a true Boss Battle, the boss music is playing, so I'm treating it as one. When you arrive in the arena, go to the Weapons/Items screen and look at Goofy's strange Note. It says "1 Sun 2 Moon 3 Star". As you follow the path, the ceiling will descend. You must quickly jump onto the Sun first, the Moon second and the Star last. Once you have done this, the ceiling will ascend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go right and grab the Skepter Of Ra. You'll land on a mine cart. Jump onto the next one when you see a gap in the floor. When you arrive at a flag, call the airplane and travel to the South Pole. =============================================================================== 6.07 - South Pole =============================================================================== Pete's henchmen are at the top of the hills ready to attack you. Jump over the penguins and stand on the icy ledge to grab some bonus items. Watch out for the buzzards. Donald will discover a key frozen ice, but how can you get it out? Position Donald over the frozen key and use the Skepter Of Ra to melt the ice. You'll receive the Viking Key which can open the locked door on the Viking Ghostship. Call the airplane and travel to Viking Ghostship. =============================================================================== 6.08 - Viking Ghostship =============================================================================== On the Ghostship, the Vikings will shoot arrows at you and they'll hide in barrels. Duck to avoid their attacks. Run quickly past the wooden platforms. They will collapse instantly. Watch for Pete's henchmen as well. In the next area, use the baskets to go up and down the Ghostship. Run quickly across the dark blue platform to avoid falling. Take out the buzzards. Climb up the walls using the Red Plunger. When you meet a Viking at the end, he'll inform Donald that he is the captain of this ship. Unfortunately, it's been taken over by ghosts. He promises to give Donald a Viking Diary that will help him find the Great Duck Treasure. Position Donald over the light brown platform and use the Viking Key to enter the next area. Climb down the ladders and use the Bubblegum Shooter to deal with the Vikings. Pete's henchmen will shoot bombs at you. It seems Pete's gang were able to enter the Ghostship without the Viking Key. One strong henchman is waiting for you. Jump over him and climb up the ladders. Go left and climb up the western wall. When you are half-way up, you'll find a secret entrance to the Viking Ghost. Walk into the door to confront the Ghost. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Battle: The Viking Ghost - 7 Hits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes and Strategy ------------------ When you standing on the far left of the arena, the Viking Ghost won't attack. When the Ghost throws an axe at you, duck to avoid it. Head left until the Ghost can only be seen at the edge of the screen. Use the Red Plunger to hit the Ghost's head. The Ghost will collapse and reassemble itself afterwards. Go to the far left. When the Ghost jumps over to Donald, it will miss him. Go right and duck to avoid the axe again. Repeat the above strategy. After being hit seven times, the Ghost will disappear. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After defeating the Viking Ghost, you'll automatically return to the captain. Donald asks for the Viking Diary, but the Viking admits that he doesn't actually have it. However, an old legend says that it is hidden in ice in the South Pole. The Viking gives you the Green Plunger to help you. =============================================================================== 6.09 - South Pole Revisited =============================================================================== NOTE: When you return to South Pole again, you won't be able to access the other lands anymore after you find the Viking Diary, since you'll automatically travel to the final two lands. If you want to stock up on Popcorn and Bubblegum ammo, I advise going to the other lands to get Popcorn and Bubblegum. When you have obtained the Green Plunger, return to South Pole and go right. Use the Green Plunger to shoot up a plunger. After it catches the bird, jump onto the plunger. Press up and down on the +Control Pad to avoid the buzzards. Watch out for the buzzards carrying bombs. In the next area, run on the ice. If you keep running while jumping, you won't fall into the icy water. Watch out for the whales; they won't cause too much problems since you'll be too fast for them. When you meet a penguin, the game will start getting tough. Some platforms will rise up. Keep running and jumping across the platforms. In the next area, you'll need a lot of bubblegum ammo to continue onward. Luckily, there is some ammo in the first two holes. Drop down the fake ice to fall into a secret pathway. Run past the strong henchman; you'll probably get hurt but you'll only lose two circles of the Power Gauge at the most. Use the Green Plunger to stun the walruses. If you're low on bubblegum ammo, they will break the ice. Follow the path, climbing up the walls as you do so. Use the Bubblegum Shooter to melt the icy wall. At the top of the wall, you'll find the Viking Diary which is frozen in one of the icy blocks. You can't read it at the moment since it's too dark. Now follow the path and climb up the wall. As you head left, Big Bad Pete arrives in his airplane and ransoms Donald's nephews to acquire the Treasure Map and Viking Diary. You automatically head for the Ducky Gang Hideout to retrieve the items from Pete. =============================================================================== 6.10 - Ducky Gang Hideout =============================================================================== Go up the hill while dodging the two jumping blocks. Use the Green Plunger to grab onto a buzzard. Watch out for the buzzards carrying bombs as you fly in the sky. Go past the snakes and jump onto the electricity wire. Ride the mine carts until you reach the next area. Now this part is tough. The platforms will extend themselves. You have to jump from platform to platform. You'll see the next platform on the screen. When you make it onto the final platform, you'll have to use the Green Plunger in order to create a platform on the wall nearby. Shoot loads of plungers before going to the highest mini-platform and jumping onto the plunger. Exit the area. As you follow the path, watch out for the yellow spikes covering the walls. Use the Bubblegum Shooter to get rid of the boxing turtles. When the strong henchman approaches you, quickly run through the pathway. Use the baskets to travel down and up the Ducky Gang Hideout. Stun the henchmen and go past the big one to confront Big Bad Pete. He promises to hand over the Treasure Map and Viking Diary if you can defeat him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Battle: Big Bad Pete - 10 Hits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes and Strategy ------------------ When you enter the arena, Pete will leave for a moment and return in his Piston Machine. He'll try to crush you with his pounding piston. Your attacks have no effect on the machine itself, so you must hit Pete's head instead. Quickly slide to avoid getting crushed. This manoeuvre only works sometimes though, as Pete can lower his piston very fast. Two henchmen are on the right side of the arena. If you have no popcorn or bubblegum ammo, duck to avoid their shots. When Pete first surfaces, you can get an easy hit. Afterwards, slide away from him and go up the middle platform. When Pete's machine rises up near you, attack Pete. Now drop down again and duck to avoid the henchmen's shots. If Donald touches the machine, he'll get hurt. Repeat the above strategy until Pete is defeated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Big Bad Pete honours his promise and gives the Treasure Map and the Viking Diary back to Donald. Go to the Weapons/Items screen and look at the Viking Diary. The diary reveals that the map must be dipped in water. When this is done, the location of the real treasure will appear. Once Donald dips the map in water, you'll automatically travel to the Great Duck Treasure Island. =============================================================================== 6.11 - Great Duck Treasure Island =============================================================================== Congratulations! You have made it to the final land in the game. Donald's treasure hunt adventure is coming to an end. Now you must find the Great Duck Treasure. Walk up the hill to avoid getting hurt by enemies. Jump from platform to platform. The leaves will fall after Donald lands on them, so you must be quick. When you come across a series of wooden platforms, jump on them to go down. Hold right on the +Control Pad to avoid falling into a hole and losing a try. When you see green platforms, go up them and climb the eastern wall using the Green Plunger. Now you're inside a temple. The guards are hard to defeat; their shields can protect them from your plungers. Popcorn can get rid of them, but you're probably low on ammo. Try to jump over them and attack from behind to stun them. Follow the path until you see the yellow spiked walls. Once you climb up the wall, the guards won't be able to chase after you. Avoid the floating flames and climb onto the moving platform. Duck to avoid getting hurt by the flames under the ceiling. When you come to another spiked wall, quickly jump onto the platform. You'll see a gap as you go through the next pathway. Climb up it to enter the next area. This area is easy to get through when compared with the other two areas. Jump down and a platform will appear. Jump the same length to land on another invisible platform. These invisible platforms won't collapse, so you can stand there for a while. Continue crossing to different invisible platforms until you reach the exit. It's time for your last boss battle! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Final Boss: The Guardian Of The Great Duck Treasure - 12 Hits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes and Strategy ------------------ When you arrive in the arena, jump onto the platform above the Guardian. Hold down on the +Control Pad and wait for him to throw his sword. Slide to the right to avoid the blocks that come falling down. When the blocks are gone, quickly shoot a plunger at the Guardian's head. When his sword returns to him, he is invincible. Go back to the platform above and repeat the strategy until the Guardian is defeated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Congrats on completing this game. Now enjoy the ending. As the credits roll, you'll see Donald and Daisy flying over the lands that you visited. After the credits, "THE END" will appear on the screen. You can't continue, so your only option now is to turn off your Genesis/Mega Drive and start a new game. ############################################################################### 7. Game Script ############################################################################### This section lists the scenes in this game. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Prologue =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= One day, Donald came across an old book in Uncle Scrooge's study. The title of the book was "King Garuzia's Great Duck Treasure." According to the book, Garuzia was once the leader of a Great Duck Kingdom. Just before he died, King Garuzia hid his most prized possession in a secret location. Tucked inside the book, Donald found a map showing clues to where the treasure could be found. "Wow!" Donald exclaimed. "If I could find a treasure like this, I'd be richer than Uncle Scrooge." But one of Pete's gang had been spying through the window and saw everything. Donald took the map with him as he started to head home. Pete's gang chased after Donald and the treasure map. Donald could see an open manhole ahead and jumped over it, but Pete's gang all fell in. Donald took Huey, Dewey, and Louie to the plane to take off on the Great Treasure Hunt. But just then, Daisy appeared. "Donald where are you going? You were supposed to be at my house for dinner an hour ago!" "Daisy, something very important has come up. I'm going to find something special for you and I want it to be a surprise." "Donald wait ---- Come back, Donaaaaaaaald!" Donald and his nephews took off in their plane, leaving a furious Daisy behind. Moments later, Pete's gang flew after them in a plane of their own. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The Treasure Hunt =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= CITIZEN: You won't be able to continue much farther without the right tools to climb high walls. SENORITA: Donald, don't you know that you need a special key to go into these ruins? SENORITA: A team of explorers returned to Duckburg with it. It's called the Hero Key. DONALD: Thank you, Sweet Senorita. DONALD: Hey, have you seen the Hero Key? CITIZEN: I've got it right here. Are you a hero? DONALD: I'm trying to be a hero. CITIZEN: Then take it, and good luck. [Donald takes the Hero Key] GOOFY: Gawrsh, Donald, it's swell to see you. DONALD: Goofy, what are you doing here? GOOFY: Oooh, just looking around. I found this strange note. GOOFY: I don't know what to do with it. GOOFY: Do you want it? DONALD: You bet! GOOFY: I also found this funny plunger thing. GOOFY: Maybe if you shoot it at walls and things it will help you to reach high places. GOOFY: And Gyro in Duckburg is looking for you. [Donald takes the Note and Red Plunger] GYRO: Donald, just the fellow I wanted to see. GYRO: Would you please try out my newest invention? GYRO: It's bubblegum ammo. When you use it in your shooter, it makes exploding bubbles. GYRO: I'll give you more whenever you run out. DONALD: Thank you, Gyro! [Donald takes the bubblegum ammo] GHOST: Blow up the wall with the bubblegum ammo. GHOST: But why in the world did you come to such a scary place? DONALD: I'm looking for King Garuzia's treasure. GHOST: King Garuzia's treasure! Now I remember! Count Dracula has the treasure map in this castle. GHOST: But I don't think Dracula will give up the treasure map too easily. MAHARAJAH: I offer you a challenge. MAHARAJAH: If you can defeat the tiger in the garden, I'll reward you with this Sphinx Tear. VIKING: Oh, this is terrible... terrible. DONALD: What's the matter? VIKING: I was the captain of this ship but it's been taken over by ghosts. VIKING: If you take it back for me, I can give you a Viking Diary that will help you find the Great Duck Treasure. DONALD: Great! I'll do it! VIKING: Please go inside the ship and get rid of the ghosts. DONALD: I got rid of all the ghosts. Can I have the Viking Diary? VIKING: I'm sorry, but to tell you the truth, I don't really have it. DONALD: What!!! VIKING: But an old legend says that it is hidden in ice near the South Pole. VIKING: Maybe this ancient Viking Plunger will help you. VIKING: It can be used to fly with by catching things that fly. [Donald takes the Green Plunger] PETE: Donald, if you want to save your nephews, you'd better give me that Treasure Map and Diary! NEPHEWS: Help! Unca Donald, help! DONALD: O.K. I'll do it. Give me the boys! [Pete releases the nephews and flies off in his airplane] NEPHEWS: We're sorry Unca Donald...
