KING OF PRO BASEBALL Menu Translations By Adam Bomb This document explains the basic menus placed throughout the game. Note that the following are translations taken from a player's point of view. I am also including a basic game control section for those who are too lazy to find them out on their own =) If you have any corrections and/or additions, please e-mail the author of this FAQ at adambomb@segasages.com This FAQ is also availible in a much more user friendly Microsoft Word format, and is readily availible by contacting the author at the address afore mentioned. MAIN SCREEN Baseball Exhibition Game Glove/Mitt Practice Mode Crossed Bats Season Play Jersey Player Information Batting Helmet Options EXHIBITION GAME MENUS You will be taken first to the controller select menu. There you can select how many players will play: One, Two, Three, or Four, by pressing start on the respective controllers. After that, you will proceed to the team select menu, where you can select the teams participating in the game. Following that, you will go to a pre-game options screen. This screen will set the rules/stipulations for the game. SEE GAME OPTIONS 1 You will then go to the batting order/player screen. You can select first which players will play for your team. Afterwards, you can select which players will be controlled by the human(s) or the CPU. To have all of a certain type of player be CPU controlled, press R. You can also change players individually by highlighting them and then pressing A. Next, you will move to a secondary options screen. This mainly pertains to individual player options for the game. SEE GAME OPTIONS 2 The next screen is the field select. From here you can select the field that you will play on. The fields include grass, turf, and domed fields. (This is where it gets fun). Also selectable are an arena on Mars (complete with spaceship), and (get this) a beach! Have fun! PRACTICE MODE SCREENS The practice mode allows you to refine your skills for use during play (and in this game, they actually work!) The modes are as follows: Batting, Catching, Out-fielding, Pitching, and In-fielding. Each mode has a corresponding picture of a player, and are reletively easy to make out. After selecting the type of practice, but before beginning, you will see several selections. The numbers are the level of play. They range from one (1) being the easiest, two (2) being the average skill level, and three (3) being the hardest. However, pitching mode is different. It ranges based on pitches thrown. (From top to bottom): Straight Pitches, Sliders, High Balls, Variable (Easy), and Variable (Hard). In each practice session, you have different objectives (things to do in order to get an OK from the coach). Here are the objectives based on type: Batting Hit the ball fair and past the pitcher Catching Field ball, throw to first base Out-Fielding Field ball, throw to home plate Pitching Hit the white square on screen. (If it hits, it will drop down) In-Fielding Field ball, throw to first base SEASON PLAY In Season mode, you play an entire season, controlling the team(s) of you choice. Qualify for the playoffs and your season will continue longer than scheduled. To trade players, SEE PLAYER INFORMATION PLAYER INFORMATION From this area, you have the ability to view player stats and abilities on any team. You can also create and trade players. The icons for this area are: GM (General Manager) With Jersey Create Player Player Flag (With Three Heads) Individual Player Information Standing Players (With <--> Between) Trade Players Menu Logo Back To Main Menu GAME OPTIONS 1 Description Selections Default Setting Innings 1-9 9 DH on/off on ??? 10-15 15 Call Game At Lead By 1-10 None I can't seem to figure out the rest =( GAME OPTIONS 2 These options are confusing to me, for they contain no numbers or otherwise recognizable characters. (Help anyone?) However, the bottom four seem to pertain to individual controllers.
