Enemies =========== First, I need to say this, before you become confused: I will tell you the enemy's first appearance, and some first appear in a secret level, if you take all secret exits while you progress your game. So I will say their first appearance in a secret level, and a normal level. Here are the secret levels from where you get to them from: Level 29: Outpost Omega Accessed from Level 4, Holding Area Level 30: The Lair Accessed from Level 12, Altar of Pain Level 31: In the Void Accessed from level 18, Spawned Fear Level 32: Hectic Accessed from Level 1, Staging Area ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, here are the enemies! Zombiemen: One of your most basic, standard, most weakest enemies in the game. They are small soldiers who used to be former marines of your own kind. They fire small pistol bullets at you for attacking. You can use pretty much any weapon to get rid of them. This enemy is first found in Level 1: Staging Area. Shotgun Guys: Just like the Zombiemen, except these are slightly stronger and better with their weapons. They carry around Shotguns and fire at you to attack. These Shotguns can do a lot of damage at you, especially on high skill levels. To get rid of Shotgun Guys, use any weapon to get rid of them, as they are still pretty weak. This enemy is first found in Level 1: Staging Area. Imp: About the size of a Shotgun Guy. Imps are small, brown monsters who walk around on two feet. To attack you, they shoot out a fireball at far distances. But if you are up close, they will scratch you. Their attacks are pretty weak, so don't worry. Use any weapon but the Pistol or Fist (unless you have a Berserk), and they should be taken down in one hit. Found in plenty of the levels during the game. This is first found in Level 1: Staging Area. Nightmare Imp: This is a new enemy in Doom 64. It is the same exact thing as a normal Imp, but these guys are more blurry, they are faster, and can chip away at your health pretty quickly, so watch out if you're in a dark area. Use any weapon but a Pistol and they will go down easily. First found on Level 2: The Terraformer. Demon: One of the first actual "Demons" you will see in the game. They are pink "bulls" who run around on two legs. On harder skill levels, their bite, which is their only way of attacking, can hurt really badly. To kill these enemies, stay at a far distance and use pretty much any weapon. If you are up close, a Chaingun or a Chainsaw can take them down easily, and they shouldn't be able to attack either. This is first found in Level 1: Staging Area. Spectre: Almost the same exact thing as a Demon. Instead, Spectres are nearly invisible, but you can still see them easily, but watch out in dark areas. They bite at you for attacking, and it can hurt badly on harder skill levels. To get rid of them easily, use any weapon and if you are up close, use a Chaingun or a Chainsaw to take them down in no time, and they shouldn't be able to attack either. This is first found in Level 2: The Terraformer. Lost Soul: Lost Souls are probably the most annoying enemy at the game. You'll know them when you see them. Fine, I'll tell you. They are small enemies that are on fire and they also fly around in the air. Most of the time they appear in groups, and they will come out of the mouth of a Pain Elemental. They attack you by backing up and then charging right at you, which can be annoying, especially when you are up close to them. To get rid of them, use anything but a Pistol, Fist, or Chainsaw and they will go down quickly. These enemy is first found in Level 4: Holding Area. Cacodemon: A really popular enemy, it seems. Just like the Lost Souls, these enemies fly around in the air. They are big, red, have one eye, and a big mouth. They have two methods of attacking you. They can open their mouth up and shoot a fireball at you, and theirs is pretty strong. Their other attack is when you are up close, they can bit at you, which can hurt a LOT. The best weapons to use against them are the Chaingun and Chainsaw, and if you use those, they won't have a chance to attack you. This is first found in Level 3: Engineering. Hell Knight: A big step up from all of the other enemies. Like pretty much most other enemy, they walk on two legs, and have two methods of attacking you. They are tall and have a light color on their body as well. They can shoot a green fireball at you to attack, or if you're up close, they will scratch you. Either attack can hurt a LOT on hard skill levels. To get rid of them, 3 rockets from a Rocket Launcher or 3 Shells from a Super Shotgun can get rid of them easily. But a Plasma Gun and BFG are effective as well. This is first found in Level 4: Holding Area. Baron of Hell: Just when you thought the Hell Knights were bad enough. To find the difference between the Hell Knight and a Baron of Hell, Barons of Hell have a slightly darker body (they have dark pink, while Hell Knights have a bright color). Just like the Hell Knight, their two methods of attacking are using a fireball and scratching you up close, but these hurt a LOT more than the Hell Knights. They are also tougher, so they won't go down easy. Use a Rocket Launcher, Plasma Gun, or BFG to take them down, otherwise be prepared for a long fight. This is first found in Level 6: Alpha Quadrant. Arachnotron: Well, there's always something new to look forward to. Has your fear for spiders increased now? These are spiders that walk around and when they see you, they will fire green cells at you, identical to the ones you fire from your Plasma Gun. They shouldn't be a problem if you are good at dodging. Almost any weapon can get rid of these enemies, except from the Pistol, Fist, or Chainsaw. 3 shots from a Rocket Launcher or Super Shotgun will get rid of them in a fluke. This is first found in Level 32: Hectic. Pain Elemental: You may think these are the most annoying enemies in the game, but the Lost Souls can knock out any enemy in that game. They are almost like the Cacodemon. They are big, they fly, and have one eye. They are also brown and they don't attack you. What they do is that they shoot Lost Souls out of their mouths and the Lost Souls go and directly attack you. Once they get killed, 3 Lost Souls will appear after they explode, unless it explodes at a nearby wall (where a Lost Soul may get stuck in the wall). To kill them easily, 1 BFG shot will do the trick. Otherwise, 3 rockets or 3 Super Shotgun Shells will finish them off easily. This is first found in Level 6: Alpha Quadrant. Mancubus: Another fun enemy, which is one of my favorites. The bad news is that the fireballs it pumps out can hurt really badly on higher skill levels. The good news is that a Mancubus is fat, meaning it's a nice, big, wide target. It has two missile launchers on its arms and both of them shoot out 3 missiles at a time. They can be dodged pretty easily, but sometimes it can be tricky. Three shells from a Super Shotgun or 3 rockets from a Rocket Launcher will do the trick as usual. This is first found in Level 29: Outpost Omega. Cyberdemon: My favorite enemy in the whole world of Doom. Cyberdemons are huge goat-like monsters, but they stand on two legs and walk around. One of their legs is metal, and on one of their arms is a Rocket Launcher, which has about the same amount of power as yours. The rockets can be dodged without a problem, and you can attack him by using your own rockets or a BFG. It should take anywhere from 2-4 shots to kill him. Also, his metal leg makes a sound when he walks, and it gets louder when he gets closer. This always scared the crap out of me. This is first found in Level 17: Watch Your Step. The Motherdemon: The Final Boss in the game. She sends flames coming to you on the ground, and red homing missiles at you too. The BFG and Rocket Launcher are your best hopes here. She only appears in Level 28, The Absolution. ============ 2. Controls ============ Control Stick: Move D-Pad: Move A: Switch weapon backwards B: Switch weapon forwards Z: Fire weapon C-Left (Held, while moving): Run C-Down (Held, while moving): Strafe in any direction C-Up: View Automap (Press C-Up again to change to the other form of the Automap, and then C-Up again to return to first person mode) C-Right: Open doors, hit switches, etc. L: Strafe Left R: Strafe Right Start: Pause game (use A to select the options) ----------------- Automap Controls ----------------- To pan around the automap, hold down C-Right and then use the analog stick to pan around the automap. While doing this, you will not move. To zoom in, hold C-Right and then hold down L. The more L is held down, the closer the zoom level. To zoom out, hold C-Right and then hold right R. The more R is held down, the wider the zoom level will be. ========================= 3. Using the Memory Card ========================= If you're not going to beat Doom 64 in one day, then I'd recommend you use a Nintendo 64 Memory Card. To use a Nintendo 64 Memory Card, put it in the slot in the back of the Nintendo 64 controller. With a Memory Card, you can now save your game in Doom 64, but you can only save when you finish a level. When you beat a level and you have a Memory Card, all the empty save slots will come out. You can have up to 16 Save Slots. Now, to save the game, you press the C- Right and C-Left button at the same time, and it will save. You can over-write a saved game if you want to. To then load a Saved Game, pause the game (during gameplay), and go to options. Now, go to Password. All your Saved Games will come up instead of the Password Prompt. To Load a game, press C-Left and C-Right at the same time on a file. To go to the Password Prompt, just press Start. Saved Games tend to round your health, ammo, and armor. For example when you beat a level, save your game, and turn off the Nintendo 64, and you have 15% health, 45 bullets, and 160% armor, then when you load the game, you may have 25% health, 50 bullets, and 150% armor. This can benefit you in some situations. =========== 4. Weapons =========== Fist: How could you possibly pick up a Fist? You will have your arms the whole time, but they are pretty weak. Only use this on weak enemies to spare ammo if you really need to, otherwise don't bother using your own iron knuckles. They are weak and useless. To change that around, grab the Berserk and this will become a really fun thing to use around with. With a Berserk, you can knock out almost any weak enemy in one hit, and a matter of a few punches on stronger enemies. Chainsaw: A fun weapon to use if you know how to use it correctly. For some weird reason, you will never run out of fuel to keep the Chainsaw going, but we'll take it! With a Chainsaw, you can run into enemies and try to cut them, but you'll have to get close. Now the best enemies to use a Chainsaw on is Demons and Cacodemons. Once you use it on these enemies, they will go down very fast. Also they will not be able to attack back because the Chainsaw will keep stopping them. Useful at times, especially if you need to spare ammo. This weapon is first found in Level 1: Staging Area. Pistol: Just like the Fist, you will always have this with you, but this time ammo is limited. The kind of ammo this uses are clips. You can hold up to 200 bullets maximum, 400 with a backpack. The Pistol is pretty weak except on Zombiemen and Shotgun Guys, where they will go down in a few shots. Most of the time you will use this a lot in the early parts of levels until you get better weapons. Just use this on Zombiemen and Shotgun Guys. Nothing else and you should be fine. Shotgun: Before there was a Super Shotgun introduced into the Doom series, this was my favorite weapon. But it's still a pretty solid weapon for the early going. It can hold up to 50 shells, 100 with backpack. If you fire accurately, it can knock out Zombiemen, Shotgun Guys, and Imps within a few shots. You can use it on other enemies too, where it still takes a few shots to take down stronger enemies. Unless there is a better weapon around, use this because it's a great weapon. This weapon is first found in Level 1: Staging Area. Super Shotgun: This is the best weapon in the game. No arguments about it. An awesome alternative to the Shotgun, and it is deadly if used right. Unlike the Shotgun, this weapon shoots out 2 shells at the time, and it takes a longer time to reload, so don't use this if you are low on shells. It can take out any weak enemy in 1 hit, and almost anything else in 3 direct hits. Also, its shells can knock out a huge group of enemies in one hit, so use this a lot when you see weak enemies in groups. This weapon is first found in Level 3: Engineering. Chaingun: Something to replace that old, weak Pistol you have. This is the "machine gun" in Doom. It fires multiple bullets at a time and uses the same bullets as a Pistol. It can take out many weak enemies at a time and can stop Demons and Cacodemons from attacking you when you fire right at them, because they'll be stunned trying to attack. Use this against Demons and Cacodemons, and in large groups of weak enemies because they can go down pretty fast. This weapon is first found in Level 2: The Terraformer. Rocket Launcher: Another one of my favorite weapons in the game. It can hold up to 50 rockets, and 100 with a backpack. It fires 1 rocket at a time and the damage can be awesome. If you fire it in the right spot, it can knock out a huge group of weak enemies in one hit, making lots of blood for you to see. Use this on ANY enemy, as it can take them down very quickly. The bad part about this weapon is that if the rocket explodes and you are extremely close to the explosion, you will lose health, and the amount lost depends on how far you are from the explosion. This weapon is first found in Level 32: Hectic. Plasma Gun: Just like a Chaingun, except it fires blue cells instead of bullets. This is a fun weapon to play around with. It holds up to 300 cells, 600 with a backpack, and it also fires about multiple cells at a time. Use this on any enemy, as they will go down fast if you hold your fire button down. It can take down plenty of Zombiemen and Shotgun Guys at once, so have fun with it. A bad part would be if that you are too close to an enemy, the plasma cells may get in your right and you may not see what's in front of you. This weapon is first found in Level 7: Research Lab. BFG: The ultimate weapon in the game, but it has negatives to balance the positives. It uses the same cells as a Plasma Gun, and it can fires 40 cells at one time. The ball it makes explodes, damaging/killing any enemy on the screen, so you'll need to use this the right way. Do not use this on a single enemy, as it just wastes ammo. But you can still use it on any enemy, because it knocks out a Spider Mastermind or Cyberdemon with 2 perfect direct hits. This weapon is first found in Level 10: The Bleeding. Laser: The second most strongest weapon in the game and it is a new weapon in Doom 64.. Shares its cells with the BFG and Plasma Gun. Use this on anything. This weapon is extremely rare. First found in Level 29, Outpost Omega. Or, from what I've seen, if you take normal exits, the next time I saw this weapon was in Level 12, Altar of Pain. The way it fires ammo is unusual. It will fire slowly if you have no Demon Artifacts, faster if you have 1 Demon Artifact, it will fire 2 shots if you have two Demon Artifacts, and it will file 3 shots if you have all 3 Demon Artifacts. So Laser + Backpack + 600 cells + 3 Demon Artifacts = 1 ass kicking weapon. Can even take out a Cyberdemon in a matter of seconds. ========= 5. Items ========= ----- Ammo ----- This is the ammo you can get throughout the game. It shows how much it gives on easy/hard skill levels, what weapon it is used for, etc. Use this table to find out the name of ammo used for each weapon. The "small ammo" is very little ammo that doesn't give you a lot. "Large Ammo" is ammo that comes in bigger amounts and is a lot more useful. |---------|------------|-----------------------| |Weapon | Small Ammo | Large Ammo | |---------|------------|-----------------------| | P/CG | Clip |Box of Bullets | |---------|------------|-----------------------| |SG/SSG |4/8 Shells |Box of Shotgun Shells | |---------|------------|-----------------------| | RL | Rocket |Box of Rockets | |---------|------------|-----------------------| |PG/BFG/L |Energy Cell |Energy Cell Pack | |---------|------------|-----------------------| P: Pistol SG: Shotgun SSG: Super Shotgun CG: Chaingun RL: Rocket Launcher PG: Plasma Gun BFG: BFG9000 L: Laser Here is the amount of ammo each type gives out. ********************* Pistol/Chaingun Ammo ********************* Clip: Gives out 20 bullets on skill 1, 10 on harder skill levels. If you pick it up from a Zombiemen, it will give you 10 on skill 1, 5 on harder skill levels. Box of Bullets: Gives you 100 bullets on skill 1, 50 on harder skill levels. *************************** Shotgun/Super Shotgun Ammo *************************** Shotgun Shells: Gives you 8 shells on skill 1, 4 shells on harder skill levels. Box of Shells: Gives you 40 shells on skill 1, 20 on harder skill levels. ********************* Rocket Launcher Ammo ********************* Rocket: Gives you 2 rockets on skill 1, 1 on harder skill levels. Box of Rockets: Gives you 10 rockets on skill 1, 5 on harder skill levels. ************************** Plasma Gun/BFG/Laser Ammo ************************** Energy Cell: Gives you 40 cells on skill 1, 20 on harder skill levels. Energy Cell Pack: Gives you 200 cells on skill 1, 100 on harder skills. ------------- Health/Armor ------------- Health Bonus: This adds 2% extra Health to your current health. With this, you can go past 100% health. Armor Bonus: This adds 2% extra Armor to your current armor. With this, you can go past 100% armor. Stimpack: This adds 10% health to your current health. You cannot go past 100% health using these. Medikits: Better than the Stimpacks. These add 25% health to your current health. You cannot go past 100% health using these. Green Armor: When you pick this up, this sets your armor to 100%. This will not work if your armor is greater than 100%. MegaArmor: This is the blue armor. When you pick it up, it sets your armor to 200%. Soulsphere: This increases your health by 100%. The maximum health you can have is 200%, so this is a really useful item. Only use it when you are low on health, but grab it when you really need it. MegaSphere: The best health item you can get. Once you pick it up, it sets both your health and armor to 200%! This is very useful, but if you are high on health, leave it where it is and come back to get it when you are about to exit the level. **************** HOW ARMOR WORKS **************** Ok, it seems that Armor is next to useless to the naked eye, but if you pay close attention to your health, you'll notice that the armor can help a lot and stop you from getting beat down by a rag doll. Let's take a look at a few examples with armor. Green Armor: Green Armors reduce the damage by 1/3, meaning you take 2/3 of the damage. Here is an example of how Green Armor works. HEALTH: 100% ARMOR: 100% DAMAGE: 30% WITH NO ARMOR: 100% - 30% = 70% health remaining. WITH GREEN ARMOR IN EFFECT: 1/3 of 30 = 10 30 - 10 = 20 Health: 100% - 20% = 80% health remaining. Armor: 100% - 10% = 90% armor remaining. MegaArmor: MegaArmors reduce the damage by 1/2. HEALTH: 100% ARMOR: 200% DAMAGE: 40% WITH NO ARMOR: 100% - 40% = 60% health remaining. WITH MEGAARMOR IN EFFECT: 1/2 of 40 = 20 40 - 20 = 20 Health: 100% - 20% = 80% health remaining. Armor: 200% - 20% = 180% armor remaining. Armor Bonuses: Armor Bonuses can be a little more complicated. Picking up an Armor Bonus adds 1% to your armor up to 200%. However, they do NOT change the type of armor in effect (for example if you have 75% armor remaining from a MegaArmor and pick up 5 armor bonuses, your armor will increase to 85% while still reducing the damage taken by 1/2). Also, if you do not have any armor and pick up an Armor Bonus, it will reduce the damage by 1/3, like a Green Armor. One last scenario with Armor is that sometimes you won't have enough armor to reduce the damage by the full 1/3 or 1/2 (depending on the type of armor in effect). When this happens, the game will subtract your armor down to 0, and the difference of the damage will be subtracted by your health. HEALTH: 100% ARMOR: 3% DAMAGE: 20% WITH NO ARMOR: 100% - 20% = 80% health remaining. WITH 3% ARMOR: 20 - 3 = 17 Health: 100% - 17% = 83% health remaining. Armor: 3% - 3% = 0% armor remaining. Now, even if your current armor reduced damage by 1/3 or 1/2, 3 is nowhere near 1/3 or 1/2 of 20, so 3 is subtracted from 20, and the difference is subtracted from your health, as stated above. ---------- Power-Ups ---------- These are items that will be a big help to you throughout the game. They help you or protect you of some sort. Backpack: This is probably my favorite item in the whole game. When you pick it up, it doubles the amount of ammo you can carry! For example, the maximum amount of bullets you can carry is 200. With a backpack you can carry 400. Just take your maximum ammo and multiply it by 2. Berserk: Man, this is a really fun item right here. When you pick it up, it will set your health to 100% if it is below 100%. The second effect is that your screen will go red and it will power up your Fist! The red screen lasts for a few seconds, and this will remain in effect for the rest of the level. During this time, your Fist will become very powerful, and it will be able to knock out anything weaker than a Demon in one hit. It can knock out stronger enemies in just a few punches! Very useful to save ammo as well. Computer Area Map: Another useful item if you may happen to get lost. Once you pick this up, it will fill your Automap 100% so that you can see everything on the Automap! Areas that are in gray are areas that you have not visited yet. However, this will not add object indicators to the Automap (where you can see items and enemies moving around). Invisibility Sphere: This red orb is something that makes you invisible. While you are invisible, enemy attacks will be less accurate, and when they try to attack you, it may miss. But you won't be completely invisible, as enemies just have more difficulty spotting you. The other part is that this is on a time limit, and you will be invisible for a minute. Invincibility Sphere: Just the exact thing you'll need when you are in a hellhole. While you are invincible, your screen will go white. This effect lasts for 30 seconds. Also when you are invincible, you cannot be damaged in any way. This includes enemy attacks, crushing ceilings, and even slime pits. It just lasts for 30 seconds, and the white screen can be annoying. Radiation Suit: Something you will really need in levels with a lot of slime pits. When you pick one of these up, your screen will go green for a minute. During this time, you will not be hurt when you are walking around in slime, as this gives you protection from lava and slime. This effect lasts for a minute and you can still get hurt by enemies, even if you do have this on. Light Amplification Visors: A really, really, neat power-up. When picked up, the entire level will have maximum brightness for 2 minutes. This item is really useful for navigating very dark rooms and mazes. After two minutes, the rooms in the level will return to their normal brightness levels. Demon Artifact: The only new item in the game. There are 3, and hard to get. 1 is found in each secret level (except for Hectic), and can do 2 things: they can make your Laser fire faster and fire more cells. Their other thing they can do is to be used on those pedestals with the demon artifact symbol on them in Level 28, The Absolution, and shut the doors, having less enemy encounters. They are in 3 colors too: Gold, Pink, and Blue. Once you pick up a Demon Artifact, it shows up in your Automap. ---------- Key Items ---------- Keycard/Skull Key: Both are the same. These keys unlock locked doors. The keys come in 3 different colors: red, yellow, and blue. Remember, not all levels have all 3 keys, and some don't have any at all. These can flip certain switches too. =========== 6. Options =========== How to access: You can get there from title screen, or you can get to it when you pause the game during gameplay. Options: Control Pad: Use the control pad to set up the controls of the game (ex: with this, you can swap the strafe right button for fire, etc). Control Stick: Use the control stick to control the sensitivity of the control stick on the Nintendo 64 Controller (the higher the sensitivity, the faster your player turns). Volume: Control both sound effects and music in the game (use left and right on the control stick to do so). Display: Used for many things. Here is a list below: Brightness: Use left and right on the control stick to adjust the brightness of the game. Center Display: Use it to move around the screen during gameplay (moves the screen to the left, right, etc). Messages: Use this to turn the messages on and off (they come up when you pick up any object). Status Bar: Use this to turn the status bar on and off (at the bottom of the screen during gameplay, shows your health, armor, ammo, etc). Ok, the following isn't from Display: Password: Use this to enter a password to access a level (record the password on a paper if you'll going to forget, and they show the password for the next level once you finish a level). =============== 7. Walkthrough =============== ---------------------- Level 1: Staging Area ---------------------- At the beginning of the level, kill the two Zombiemen in the two cages next to you. The Zombiemen are only there on skill levels 3 and 4. Now, DO NOT BLOW UP THE BARREL UP HERE. Instead, just drop down to the floor below you. Down here, pick up the Shotgun, grab the Box of Bullets in the corner of the room, and then blow up the barrel in the other corner of this room. Now, go through the opening and into the hallway. In here, kill the Shotgun Guys. Watch out, they can be quite a pain and wear down your health pretty quickly. Once they are dead, follow this hallway until a door behind you opens. On harder skill levels, a Demon will come at you, so kill it. Also, there is a door in the hallway, so open it and go through it. In this room, kill the Zombiemen in front of you and then destroy the barrel in the corner of the room. Now you will notice a staircase to your left and right. Go up the left staircase. At the top, run to the small platform to your left and pick up the Box of Shotgun Shells. On here, check the panel and it will open up, revealing a Green Armor. Pick it up and then drop back down to the floor below you. Down here, go up the right staircase this time. When you get on the conveyor belt at the time, a window behind you will open, revealing Zombiemen, so kill them. When you get the other end of this conveyor belt, RUN onto the platform to your right. Hit the switch on the wall and a door will open. Drop down to the floor below you and go back up the right staircase again. At the other end of this conveyor belt, go through the opening to your left. In here, pick up the Chainsaw and go straight. You'll be back in the hallway near the level's starting point. Across from you is a switch. Hit it to lower the lift, get on it, and ride it to the top. Up here, destroy the barrel in the corner of the room behind you. There will also be some Zombiemen here on harder skill levels, so kill them. Also, kill the Demon across from you. With your back against the lift, you will see three openings on your left and two openings on your right. Take the first opening to the left. In here, kill any Zombiemen and turn right. Search the walls on your right until you find a hidden door. When you find it, it will open, revealing a MegaArmor and a barrel. Destroy the barrel and pick up the MegaArmor. Now go back to where the lift was. This time, take the second opening to your left. If you are playing on skill levels 1 or 2, you will find the Blue Key here. If you are on skill levels 3 or 4, hit the switch and turn around. Now RUN straight and take a right. If you were quick enough, you'll see a small opening to your right with the Blue Key. If the door closes, just go back and hit the switch and try again. If you visit this place on skill levels 1 or 2, you will find a Berserk here. Once you have the Blue Key, go back to where the lift was and drop back to the hallway below you. Back in this hallway, go through the opening to your left and you'll find the Blue Door, so open it and go through it. In here, kill the Zombiemen and blow up the barrel across from you. Also, kill the Zombiemen in the cages to your left. Once all of the enemies are dead, go up the staircase in the corner of the room. Up here, go left. Kill any Shotgun Guys here and hit the switch across from you. This will open up a door, revealing a room with Demons. Kill all of the Demons and go into this room. In here, pick up the Medikit, destroy the barrel, and then hit the switch. Once you have done all of that, leave this room. Back in this hallway, go all the way left to where the staircase was. This time, go through the new opening to your left. In this hallway, go left and you'll find an opening. Go through this opening and the floor will lower. Down here, destroy the barrel and pick up all of the health bonuses. If you need to, lower the lift, get on it, and ride it to the top. Back up here, kill any Shotgun Guys and then open the door at the other end of this hallway. In here, kill all of the Demons. Once all of the Demons are dead, go left and you'll find another door. Open it and you'll find the exit room. Kill the Imp BUT DO NOT HIT THE EXIT SWITCH. Instead, blow up the barrel and leave this room. Back in here, open the door and go back to the previous hallway. Back in this hallway, go straight and follow this hallway to two openings. Remember the cage earlier? It's been removed, so you can get back to the starting hallway easier, but don't go through it. Instead, go back through the opening to your right. Back in this room, you'll see the staircase in front of you and a little step to your right. Get on this step. See the little platform with the switch across from you? Back up and RUN across the gap to get into the little room. If not, go back up and try again. Hit this switch and drop down to the floor. This switch has lowered a lift to the left of the cages, so RUN to the lift and drop down it. If you don't get to it, just go back, hit the switch, and try again. Once you get on the lift, ride it to the top. Up here, pick up the Soulsphere and hit the switch. This will cause the lift to lower, so ride it down to the way bottom. Down here, blow up the barrel and step through the teleporter. You'll be back at the level's starting point. NOW you can blow up the barrel. Once you blow up the barrel, turn around, RUN TO THE DOOR, open it, go through it, and step through the exit teleporter to your left. If you were too late, the lift will rise and you will be unable to get to lower it again. If you blow up the barrel and the lift doesn't lower, it means you missed one or more barrels somewhere else in the level. Now, this exit teleporter takes you to a secret level. So, what was the point of blowing up the barrels? To open up the secret exit, you need to blow up all barrels EXCEPT the barrel at the starting point of the level. Once you blow up all the other barrels, you need to get back to the level's starting point and blow up the final barrel. This will lower the lift to the secret exit. If you missed it, yeah, you need to restart the level. Now, you get a little story: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations, you've found... Hectic. Only the best will reap its rewards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Level 32: Hectic ----------------- Hectic is probably the hardest level in Doom 64. Even if you try to use the cheats from "Features" with the password, they will not work. Now, you will find a Green Armor, MegaArmor, and a Soulsphere in this room. If you attempt to pick up the MegaArmor, you will see the back of the Doom marine get crushed into a bloody mess. If you attempt to pick up the Soulsphere, the floor you are on will lower and you will eventually be crushed by a crushing ceiling. If you try to pick up the Green Armor, you will be crushed by the ceiling above you. Also, don't try to step on the middle tile in the room, as you lose quite a bit of health. If you die, you can't use a password to get yourself to the weapons/ammo/health/armor you originally had at the beginning of the level. If you arrive with 200% health, you're already in good shape for this level. Open the door to your right and go through it. Hey, the Red Key. Easy enough, right? When you pick it up, the room you're in will lower. You'll be surrounded by three Arachnotrons. They can take out your health pretty quickly, but here's the trick: Strafe to the left and you'll pick up a Rocket Launcher in the corner of the room. Wait for a second and then strafe to the opposite corner to get another Rocket Launcher. Now, there should be a big enough opening to get by the Arachnotrons. Now, on this side of the room are 2 Rockets and a Box of Rockets. While strafing, and firing, pick them up. Once you have all 3 Arachnotrons dead, RUN back to where you picked up the Red Key. If not, you will be hit by a crushing ceiling once. Once you are on the Red Key floor, the floor you're on will rise. Now, avoiding the middle tile, open the door across from you and go through it. Now, pick up the two Boxes of Rockets in front of you. Cross the middle platforms and get the Berserk. Once you have the Berserk, switch back to your Rocket Launcher. Pick up the Blue Key. Now BACK UP STRAIGHT as fast as you can. Now, you'll notice the pit has lowered, the door behind you is locked, and you're surrounded by 4 Hell Knights. What you want to do is quickly mow them down with your Rocket Launcher. Once you take out 2 Hell Knights, go for the other 2 on the other side. You can't stay under the Blue Key, as you'll be crushed to death. If you find yourself low on health, RUN across the little platforms to where the Blue Key was, fire a quick rocket, and run back. Now, if you fall in the pit, you can never get out, so kill yourself to make it easier on you. Once you kill all of the Hell Knights, the door will finally open, so go back to the level's starting point. Back in here, open the door to your left and go through it. You will see the Yellow Key across from you. Slowly walk forward onto the lifts. The lifts will start shifting up and down. When you have the chance, slowly walk forward onto the next lift. The faces staring at you will shoot darts. They will probably miss you, but if they do, they can take away a good amount of your health. When you finally get to the other side of the room, pick up the Yellow Key. When you have the Yellow Key, turn around and face the door. When the lift lowers, start out slow and then RUN to the door. There is probably a better than 50/50 chance that you didn't get hit, but if not, you'll probably take one hit at the worst. Once you are back in the level's starting room, use all three of your keys to remove the Red/Blue/Yellow bars across from you. Once all three of them are removed, hit the exit switch. NOTE: There is also a teleporter here to exit the level anytime, but using this exit will not give you the "Features". If you exit by grabbing all three of the keys, you will get the "Features" section when you pause the game. To find out how to use these, go to section 9 of this FAQ. Also, if you beat Hectic by using all 3 keys, congratulations! ------------------------- Level 2: The Terraformer ------------------------- When you start the level, go straight until you see an opening to your right, and go through (watch out for Zombiemen and Shotgun Guys). In here, open the door to your left, and go through. In here, go left, then turn right. Now go all the way straight until you see a switch to your right. When you see it, hit it. Now the dark hall you're in will lighten up. Now, turn back around, and go through the opening. Back in here, follow the left hand wall to an opening, killing any Zombiemen in your way. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, get the Backpack and the Box of Shotgun Shells in the middle of the room, and hit the switch on the pillar where the Blue Key is. The pillar will lower, but the Blue Key will teleport before you have a chance to get it. The Blue Key will teleport 4 times (it will teleport to a pillar in a corner of this room). When it's done teleporting (it will teleport to each pillar once), doors to the south part of this room will open. Each new opening in the south now has a switch inside (3 switches have computers in between them). Look for the opening that has a switch that isn't in between 2 computers, and hit it. When you hit it, the pillar with the Blue Key will lower, so *run* to the lowered pillar and get the Blue Key before it rises again. When you have the Blue Key, leave this room, killing any Imps in your way. Back in here, follow the right hand wall to a Blue Door. When you get to it, open it, and go through. In here, follow this hall to a gap, killing any Nightmare Imps in your way. When you get to a gap, back up, and *run* across the gap to get to the platform in front of you. Over here, follow this hall to another gap, killing any Nightmare Imps in your way. When you get to the gap, drop down it instead of running across it. Down here, go through the opening to your right. In here, go right, and follow this hall to a pillar with a switch on it (watch out for the crushing ceilings, and use the flashing yellow squares on the floor to get past the crushing ceilings safely). When you get to the pillar with the switch on it, hit the switch, and the pillar will lower, revealing the Red Key. Grab the Red Key, and turn back around. Now follow this hall to a teleporter (watch out for the crushing ceilings again), and when you get to the teleporter, take it. When you teleport, follow this hallway to a gap, *run* across it, follow this hall to a gap, *run* across it, and from here, follow this hall to a door. When you get to the door, open it, and go through. In here, follow this hall to a Soulsphere, killing any Spectres in your way. When you get to the Soulsphere, pick it up. Now, turn right. You'll notice there's an open hole through the fence in front of you. Go through it, and drop down to the floor below you. Down here, go straight, and open the door to the right of the opening in front of you. In here, hit the switch in front of you. The door will close. While it's closed, 4 crushing pillars outside will smash the ground, causing a gap. When they're finished smashing the ground, the door will open, so leave this room. Back out here, go left, and drop down to the gap in front of you. Down here, go through the opening to your right. In here, go all the way straight to the other end of the room, killing any Nightmare Imps in your way. When you get to the other end of the room, hit the switch in front of you, and the wall to your left will lower, revealing an opening. Go through. In here, head up the stairs to your right, killing any Shotgun Guys in your way. At the top, open the door to your right, and go through. In here, follow the left hand wall to an opening, and go through. In here, head up either staircase to the left or right, killing any Imps in your way. At the top, go through the opening next to you. In here, hit the switch in the west part of this room, killing any Zombiemen or Shotgun Guys in your way. When you hit the switch, the teleporter in the east part of this room will lower. Go through it. In here, kill the Imps, and hit the switch, then go back through the teleporter. Back in here, get the Yellow Key in front of you. When you have the Yellow Key, leave this room, and head back down the stairs, and go back through the opening down here. Back down here, open the door in the west part of this room, and go through. Back in here, follow the left hand wall back to the fence with the hole in it. Go back through the hole again, and drop down. Down here, go through the opening across from you. From here, backtrack back to the level's starting room. Back in here, open the Yellow Door in this room, and go through. In here, kill the Imps, and hit the exit switch. -------------------------- Level 3: Main Engineering -------------------------- When you start the level, pick up the Super Shotgun to your left, and kill the Shotgun Guy in front of you. Now, go straight, and hit the switch in front of you. The walls to the left and right of you will lower, revealing Nightmare Imps. Go through the left opening, and follow this hall to a door (to your right), killing any Nightmare Imps in your way. When you see the door to your right, open it, and go through. In here, go straight and leave this little hall. In here, walk up to the wall in front of you. Now, wait for about 7 or 8 seconds until Nightmare Imps appear. When they do, kill them, and go through either new opening in this room. In either opening, head up the stairs in front of you, killing any Imps in your way. At the top of either staircase, go through the opening, and get the Blue Key in front of you. Now, get back down to the floor below you. Back down here, leave this room. Back in here, go through the Blue Door to your right. In here, go through the opening in front of you, and in here, kill all the Cacodemons. When they are all dead, new doors will appear in the right and left parts of the building in the middle of this room. Open either room, and hit the switch in front of you. Now go through the new teleporter to your right/left (depending which door you opened). When you teleport, you'll be on an upside-down U shaped platform. Get to the middle of the "Upside-down U" platform, and hit the switch on the pedestal over here. Now, you'll see a new opening in the building in front of you, revealing Lost Souls. Kill them all (and the Cacodemons that appear on hard skill levels). When they are all dead, drop down to the floor below you (from the middle of the platform, using the small step against it to hop off this platform). Down here, get to the south part of this building. You'll notice a new lift on it. Lower it, get on it, and ride it to the top. Up here, get the Yellow Key in front of you, and get back to the lift and ride it to the bottom. Back down here, go straight, and leave this room. Back in here, open and go through the door to your left. In here, follow the left hand wall to an opening, and go through it. In here, head up the stairs, killing any Imps in your way. At the top, go straight to the Rocket Launcher, and pick it up. Now, head left to the Yellow Door, and pick up the Chaingun in front of it. Now open the Yellow Door, and go through. In here, hit the switch in front of you. Now, wait for a few seconds and Lost Souls and Imps will appear in front of you. Kill them all, and when they are all dead, the bars in front of you will lower, allowing you to gain access to the room. In here, drop down to the gap in the middle of the room. Down here, there are two switches. Hit both of them. You'll notice that one switch will stay on and the other will go on, then off. Once you find the switch that stays on, leave this room. Back out here, get the Red Key in front of you, then turn around and go back through the Yellow Door. Back in here, follow the right hand wall to the Red Door. When you get to it, open it, and go through. In here, follow this hall to the exit switch, killing any Imps in your way. When you get to the exit switch, hit it. ---------------------- Level 4: Holding Area ---------------------- When you start the level, hit the switch in front of you, and the floor you're on will lower. Down here, kill all 3 Spectres in this room (watch out, the room is dark, and the number of them depends on skill level). When they are all dead (including all other enemies down here), a door in the south part of this room will open, so go through. In here, follow the right hand wall until you get to a room with 3 switches, killing any Zombiemen, Imps, or Demons in your way. When you get to the room with 3 switches, hit all of them. Now, turn around, and leave this room. Back out here, follow the right hand wall to another room with 3 switches, killing any Demons, Spectres, or Shotgun Guys in your way. When you get to the other room with 3 switches, hit all 3 of them. Now turn around and leave this room. Back in here, follow the left hand wall to a door. When you get to it, open it, and go through. In here, go through the opening to your right. In here, head up the stairs. At the top, go through the opening in front of you. In here, from where you are to the other end of this room, you'll notice 4 switches to your left. Now, from where you are, get to the second switch from the door across from you. Hit it. Now, get back to the switch next to the opening in this room. Hit it. Now, hit the switch to the right of the switch you just hit. Finally, hit the switch next to the door at the other end of the room. After a few seconds now, you should hear the sound of a door open. So now open the door in the southeast part of this room. In here, kill the Shotgun Guys, and take the teleporter. When you teleport, *run* across the platforms in front of you to get to the opening at the other end of the room. When you get to the opening, go through it. In here, kill the Imp/Hell Knight (skill level varies), and hit the exit switch in here (this takes you to the secret exit ;)). Before you start the next level, you get a little story: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The vast silence reminds you of the military morgue. You know the installation had a classified level. The UAC had some good reason to hide this place. You wonder what it could be... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------ Level 29: Outpost Omega ------------------------ When you start the level, open the door to your right, and go through. In here, kill the Lost Souls, and hit the switch in here. Now leave this room. Back in here, get in front of the opening in the north part of this room. Before you go through it, turn right, and you should see a yellow tile on the wall. Press the C-Right button on it, and now go left into the opening. In here, *RUN* all the way straight to the Red Key at the other end of the room (Be quick before the wall raises). When you have the Red Key, pick up the Rocket Launcher in the middle of the room. Now, in the 4 cages in this room, an Imp, Hell Knight, or a Mancubus will appear in each. Kill all 4 of the Imps/Hell Knights/Mancubi (skill level varies). When they are all dead, a door in the west will open, so go through. In here, kill the Zombiemen, Shotgun Guys, Imps, Cacodemons, and Pain Elementals in front of you. Down here, drop down to the floor to your left. Down here, turn right. You'll see a gap. *Run* across it to get to the platform in front of you. Now, turn left, and face the wall. Press the C-Right to lower it, and you should see a switch on the wall in front of you. Shoot it with your Pistol, either Shotgun, or a Chaingun. Once you shoot it, the Laser should appear in front of you. GRAB IT! Once you get the Laser, turn right, and you should see a platform (kill the Imps on it first). *Run* to get to it. On here, hit the switch, and turn around. *Run* to get to the platform in front of you, then *run* again to get on another platform. On here, get to the lowered lift to the right (if it raised, get back to the switch, hit it, and run back. On here, turn around (facing the west part of this platform, and wait for it to rise). Drop down to the platform below you (the one right next to the door). Turn right, and open the door (this is the Red Door), in here, get the Demon Artifact. Congratulations, you got the first Demon Artifact (the color of the Artifact is Gold in this level, and now your Laser fires twice as fast)! When you pick up the artifact, the message is: "You have a feeling that it wasn't to be touched..." With the Demon Artifact, leave this small room. Back out here, drop down to the floor below you. Down here, go left until you see a gap (collect the Health Bonuses). Walk up to it, and you'll notice that the wall in front of you will rise. You'll exit the level. -------------------------- Level 22: Burnt Offerings -------------------------- When you start the level, go through the opening to your left. Out here, go through the opening to your right. In here, go through the opening at the other end of this room, killing any Arachnotrons in your way. In here, follow the left hand wall to a door, killing any Demons or Spectres in your way. When you get to the door, open it, and go through. In here, head down the stairs to your right. Down here, follow the left hand wall to a switch. When you get to the switch, hit it. Now, turn around, and wait a few seconds, then Hell Knights will appear. Once they appear, follow the left hand wall to a new opening. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, head left up the stairs and follow the left hand wall to a switch, killing any Nightmare Imps in your way. When you get to the switch, hit it, and keep following the left hand wall to another switch (BE REALLY QUICK), killing any Nightmare Imps or Cacodemons in your way. When you get to the switch, hit it. Now, go through the opening to your right (if there isn't an opening, turn back around and hit the other switch, then hit the switch near the opening again to lower the lift the Blue Key is on). In here, drop down to the floor below you. Down here, get the Blue Key in front of you before the lift its on raises again. Once you have the Blue Key, turn around, and follow the right hand wall to a Blue Door. When you get to the Blue Door, open it, and go through. In here, press the C- Right button on the walls to the left until part of the wall lowers, revealing a switch. Once the wall lowers, hit the switch in front of you. Now turn around, and collect the Rocket Launcher in the middle of this room. Then, darts will fire in this room, but they will be blocked off by pedestals. So once the darts finish firing, a door will open in this room, so go through. In here, follow the right hand wall to a switch, killing any Arachnotrons in your way. When you get to the switch, hit it. Now, turn around, and follow the right hand wall to another switch. When you get to the switch, hit it. Now, turn around, and follow the right hand wall to an opening, and go through. Back in here, go straight, and leave this room. In here, press the C-Right button on the wall to your left and it should open like a door, so go through. In here, go straight, and take the teleporter in front of you. When you teleport, get the MegaSphere in front of you, and drop down to the floor below you. Down here, follow the left hand wall to an opening, killing any Demons or Spectres in your way. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, go all the way straight to the other end of this room. Over here there should be a lot of candles, and the Yellow Key is in the candles somewhere (it's not warping or anything). So once you can see the Yellow Key, grab it. Now turn around and leave this room, killing any Cacodemons in your way. Back in here, follow the right hand wall to a door. When you get to the door, open it, and go through. Back in here, head down the stairs in front of you. Down here, go through the opening at the other end of this room. In here, head up the large staircase to the left. At the top, turn right, and go through the opening to your right. In here, turn left. There are two openings, and go through either one of them. You will be on a balcony. See that face icon on the wall across from you? Get on the edge of the balcony and fire at it with a Pistol, either Shotgun, or a Chaingun, and it should lower, revealing a Soulsphere. Leave it where it is and leave the balcony. Now turn left and you will see a Yellow Door so open it, and go through. In here, go left and get to the door in front of you. Now open it, and go through. In here, get the Red Key in the middle of this room. Once you grab the Red Key, doors will come to you and trap you (you can't open any of them). Now, wait a few seconds, and a pedestal with a switch on it will appear in this small room. Hit the switch, and one of the doors surrounding you will open, so go through (watch out for the crushing ceiling). Back in here, facing the door in front of you (you can't open this one either), turn around, and get to the opening at the other end of this room. When you get to the opening, open it, and go through. In here, hit the switch across from you, and it will open the door at the other end of this room. So *RUN* to the door at the other end of this room while it's open (if it closes, go and hit the switch to open it again), if the door is still open, go through it, and leave this room. Back in here, open the door to your right, and leave this room. Back in here, go in either opening to the right and you'll now be on one of the two balconies again. Before you drop down to the floor below you, kill all of the Cacodemons, Demons, and Arachnotrons below you. Once they are all gone, drop down to the floor below you. Down here, now grab the Soulsphere across from you, and then search this room for a Red Door. Once you find the Red Door, open it, and go through. In here, kill the Arachnotron in front of you. Once he's dead, hit the exit switch. ------------------------ Level 23: Unholy Temple ------------------------ You start the level falling to the floor below you. Once you're on the floor, follow the left hand to a teleporter, but the teleporter will be blocked by a bar (remember where it is though). Now, keep following the left hand wall to another teleporter, killing any Arachnotrons in your way (you'll need to kill them). Once all the Arachnotrons are dead, get back to the teleporter at the beginning of the level, and step on it. When you teleport, kill all the Spectres in front of you (you'll need to). When they're all dead, turn left, and follow the right hand wall to a green wall. When you get to the green wall (should be near a Blue Door), press the C-Right button to lower it like a lift. Now get on it, and ride it to the top. Up here, turn right, and follow the left hand wall to a switch, killing any Hell Knights in your way. When you get to the switch, hit it. Now, turn around, and follow the left hand wall to the exact spot of where the lift was to get up here. When you get back to where the lift was, turn left. You should see a floor below you. Drop down to it. Down here, follow the left hand wall to an opening. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, head up the stairs at the other end of this room. At the top, turn right. Now, go all the way straight to the MegaArmor across from you. When you get to it, pick it up (you'll need to). Once you pick it up, a new opening will appear in front of you, so go through it. In here, you'll notice that there are a bunch of pillars in this room. One of them has a switch on it. Look for the switch, and hit it (watch out for all the Demons that appear in this room). Once you hit the switch, the pillar the Blue Key is on will lower. So grab the Blue Key, and leave this room. Back in here head up the stairs. At the top, go through the opening in front of you. In here, follow the left hand wall to a staircase. When you get to the staircase, head down it. Down here, turn left, and go through the opening in front of you. Back out here, turn left, and follow the right hand wall to a Blue Door. When you get to the Blue Door, open it, and go through. In here, follow this hall to the Red Key, killing any Lost Souls in your way. When you get the Red Key, turn around, and leave this room (watch out for the crushing ceilings). Back out here, turn left, and follow the left hand wall to a Red Door. When you get to the Red Door, open it, and go through. In here, follow the right hand wall to the Yellow Key, killing any Shotgun Guys in your way. When you get to the Yellow Key, walk up to it, and it will teleport. So turn around, and you'll see the Yellow Key across from you. So walk up to it and it will teleport again. So turn around, and follow the left hand wall to the Yellow Key. Walk up to it, and it will teleport. Now, turn around, and follow the left hand wall to a staircase, killing any Hell Knights or Shotgun Guys in your way. When you get to the staircase, head up it. At the top, turn left. Now follow the right hand wall to the Yellow Key, killing any Shotgun Guys in your way (the key won't teleport this time). So when you get to the Yellow Key, pick it up. Now, turn around, and drop down to the floor below you. Down here, go all the way straight to the door at the other end of this room, open it, and leave this room. Back out here, kill the Cacodemon (you'll need to). Now, search this area for more Cacodemons. When you find them, kill them (only 2 appear on low skill levels). When they're all dead, get back to the Red Door. With your back against the Red Door, go straight, through the opening in front of you. In here, head up the stairs at the other end of this room. At the top, turn left. You'll see a set of Yellow Bars. Walk up to them, and press the C-Right button to remove them. Now, go straight to the opening at the other end of this room. You'll notice a gap and a platform in front of you. Back up, and *run* across the gap to get to the platform. On here, kill the Shotgun Guys. Then, you'll notice three switches on the pillar in the middle of this room, and they have colored skulls next to them (red, blue, and yellow). Hit the switches in this order: Red, Blue Yellow. Once you hit them in that order, leave this room (*run* across the gap again, and remember where this room is). Back in here, go all the way straight until you get to a staircase. When you get to a staircase, head down it, and go through the opening. In here, turn right, and follow the right hand wall to a switch. When you get to the switch, hit it. Now, backtrack to the room with the three switches in between colored skulls. Back in here, hit the switches in this order: Yellow, Red, Blue. Now, leave this room. Back in here, follow the right hand wall to a staircase. When you get to the staircase, head down it. Down here, turn left, and go through the opening in front of you. Back out here, turn right. Now, follow the left hand wall to a pathway not surrounded by short walls. When you get to that part of a pathway, drop down to the floor below you. Down here, turn right. Now follow the left hand wall to an opening. When you get to an opening, go through. In here, follow the left hand wall to another opening. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, take either path to your left or right to the other end of this room. Over here, you should hear the sound of an enemy warping. That means a few Arachnotrons have appeared in this room. Kill them. When they are all dead, the door in this room will open again. Now, get you back on the opening. Now, with your back on the opening, go straight to the wall in front of you. Now, the floor you're on will rise. When it rises, hit the switch in front of you. Now turn around. You'll notice the room has completely changed (and they're a Y-shaped pathway in front of you). Follow the right hand part of the pathway to an opening. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, kill the Hell Knight, and hit the switch on the pedestal in the middle of this room. Now, leave this room. Back out here, follow this pathway to another opening. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, kill the Hell Knight, and hit the switch on the pedestal in the middle of this room. Now, leave this room. Back out here, *run* to get to the platform in front of you. Then, *run* to get to the platform in front of you. On here, turn left, and *run* to get to the platform in front of you. Now, turn left. You should see a switch. Hit it. Now, turn around, and get on the platform in front of you. Now, you should see an opening below you. *Run* off the platform (dropping down to the floor) to get to the opening (and hold the Control Stick on your Nintendo 64 Controller up). You should make it through the opening. In here, hit the switch in front of you. When you hit the switch, turn around, and kill all the Cacodemons in front of you. Then follow the right hand wall to a teleporter. When you get to the teleporter, take it. When you teleport, get on the platform in front of you. Now, turn right, and get on the platform in front of you. Then turn right again, and get on the platform in front of you. Now, get on the platform in front of you. Then, turn right, and get on the platform in front of you. On here, turn left. You should see an opening below you. *Run* to get to it (holding up on the Control Stick as well), and you should make it through. In here, follow the left hand wall to a teleporter. When you get to the teleporter, take it. When you teleport, get back to the room where the 3 switches in between colored skulls. Back in here, hit the switches in this order (like I said, by the skull colors): Blue, Yellow, Red. Once you hit the switches in that order, leave this room. Back in here, backtrack back to the Red Door. When you get to the Red Door, open it, and go through. In here, follow the right hand wall to a staircase. When you get to it, head up it. At the top, turn right, and go through the opening in front of you. In here, hit the switch in front of you. Now, turn around and leave this little opening. Back in here, go through the opening to your right. In here, hit the exit switch. -------------------- Level 24: No Escape -------------------- When you start the level, hit the switch on the pedestal in front of you. Now turn around, and go through the opening in front of you, and you'll drop down to a floor below you. Down here, go straight, and drop down into the lava river below you. In here, follow the right hand wall to a teleporter, killing any Nightmare Imps in your way. When you get to the teleporter, step on it. When you teleport, head up the stairs in front of you. At the top, follow the right hand wall to a window, killing any Mancubi in your way. Also, watch out for that darn Cyberdemon on hard skill levels. When you get to the window, turn right. You should see a room across from you. Back up, and *run* to get to the room, heading through the window. On here, kill the Mancubus (on hard skill levels), and hit the switch in this room. When you hit the switch, drop down to the floor below you. Back down here, get back to the lava river, killing any Nightmare Imps in your way (watch out for the Cyberdemon on hard skill levels). When you get back to the lava river, drop down in it. Down here, go through the opening. Back in here, follow the right hand wall to a teleporter, and take it. Back in here, head up the stairs in front of you. At the top, follow the right hand wall to an opening. When you get to the opening, go through. In here, hit the switch in front of you. Now go through the opening to your left. Back in here, drop down to the floor below you. Back out here, follow the left hand wall to an opening, and don't go through it. A Cyberdemon (2 on hard skill levels) will come out of the opening. Kill them. Here are some hints: 1. Using my Walkthrough, you should have the Laser and all 3 Demon Artifacts up to this point. Use the Laser on the Cyberdemon if you have all the Artifacts, and it'll be down in no time (or use the BFG). 2. If you're out of Cells, go into the room the Cyberdemon(s) came out of. In here are loads of Rocket Launcher Ammo, and a MegaSphere (on low skill levels), and use the Rocket Launcher. 3. You can try Strafing to dodge their Rockets easier. 4. If you want to Save Ammo, have the enemies around you attack the Cyberdemon(s) to make them fight and weaken the Cyberdemon(s). Once you defeat the Cyberdemon (and the second one on hard skill levels), you will exit the level. ------------------------- Level 28: The Absolution ------------------------- Congratulations, you've made it to the final level on Doom 64 (and yes, it does skip 3 levels, as Levels 25, 26 and 27 are Fun levels)! When you start the level, pick up ALL weapons and ALL ammo in this room. Then, get the MegaSphere, then, the Invincibility Sphere. Now, open the door in here, and go through. Out here, you'll notice there are 3 chambers in this room. One to the right, one to the left, and one at the other end of this room. There is also a pedestal behind each chamber which has the Demon Artifact symbol on it. So first, enter the Chamber to the right (go in fully) and leave. Pain Elementals should start teleporting. Now, get behind the chamber, and get to the pedestal over here. Press the C-Right button to activate it (it will be Activated if you got the Gold Demon Artifact). Once you activate it get to the next chamber, and get to the pedestal behind the chamber. Wait for the earthquake to stop, and then you can activate it (as long as you got the Blue Demon Artifact). Now, get to the next chamber, get to the pedestal, and activate this one like a switch when the earthquake stops (as long as you got the Pink Demon Artifact). Each chamber will close when you activate each pedestal, blocking off the monsters teleporting in here. Kill the remaining monsters in this room (mostly Pain Elementals, Cacodemons, and Hell Knights). If you didn't have the Demon Artifacts, you gotta face all the enemies in here. Once all the monsters are dead, the pillar in the middle of this room will lower, revealing the Motherdemon. Kill it. Here are some tips: 1. If you have a Laser with enough ammo, use it on the Motherdemon (keep firing it rapidly). You'll be glad you collected the Artifacts, with your Laser firing fast and shooting 3 shots as once. The Motherdemon should die quickly. Or, use the BFG. 2. Strafe to dodge her homing missiles and the fire on the ground (that makes you jump when you touch it). 3. Every now and then, a Soulsphere or MegaArmor will appear in the middle of this room. Grab either if you can. Once you defeat the Motherdemon, congratulations! Now, you get a little story: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally... The mother of all Demons is dead! The blood pours from your eyes as you stand in defiance. As the only marine to endure the slaughter- you decide to remain in Hell and ensure no Demon ever rises again. The end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ^_^ Woo-Hoo! I'm finally done with this Walkthrough! ^_^ ============== 8. Fun Levels ============== Ever wonder why there wasn't any Level 25, 26, and 27 during Gameplay? Here's why. Levels 25, 26, and 27 are all fun levels to have fun it. The only two ways of getting them is either beat Level 32: Hectic, or enter this password below in the password prompt: ?TJL BDFW BFGV JVVB If the password is entered correctly (or if you beat Level 32: Hectic), you will then start the game at level 1 with all guns, full ammo, and at the easiest skill level. Now pause the game. You'll notice a Features option in the Menu. Select it. You can warp to any level (except The Absolution, Outpost Omega, The Lair, In the Void, and Hectic), turn On/Off Invincibility, set your health to 100%, get all guns, and Turn On/Off a Full Automap (with Object Indicators to show objects on the Automap). Also, the Features option will stay there until you turn off/reset your Nintendo 64 (it won't disappear if you quit your game and start a new game). To get the Features menu back, just beat Hectic again or re-enter the password. So, go to warp level, and use the Right/Left buttons on the D-Pad to scroll through the levels (or the control stick to scroll faster). Keep scrolling until you get to a level called "Cat and Mouse" (or Hardcore or The Playground). Select it with the C-Right button. Info about each level: Cat and Mouse: You start the level face to face with a Cyberdemon. Run all the way right before he kills you. Now, from your starting location, go right, and turn left. Go through the opening to your left, and get the Rocket Launcher/Ammo in here. When you are low on ammo, get the Box of Rockets scattered around this level, then take down the Cyberdemon. Just watch out, he can teleport at times, so watch your back at all times. Once you beat the Cyberdemon, you beat the level. Hardcore: Mancubi are scattered around this level. Now, look for a platform with a Plasma Gun and a MegaSphere (these are Fun Levels, so find them on your own). Get on the platform and once you get to it, and pick up the MegaSphere, Plasma Gun, Backpack, and the Energy Cell Packs. Then, Arachnotrons will appear in this level. Kill all of them. Then, a Cyberdemon will appear (you don't have to kill the Mancubi either). He can teleport, so take him down with your Rocket Launcher and Plasma Gun, or have surviving Mancubi take him down. Once the Cyberdemon is killed, you beat the level. Playground: Pillars are scattered all around you. Each one has an Arachnotron (there are also plenty of Invisibility Spheres in this level). Kill them all, then a Megasphere will appear in the middle of the room. Grab it, then a Cyberdemon will appear. Kill it, then Mancubi will appear in this room. Kill them all, and you beat the level. Beating this level takes you to Level 1. =========== 9. Secrets =========== This section will cover all of the secret areas found in Doom 64. One change about Doom 64 secrets is that not every secret is necessarily a room. For example, a secret may be triggered by picking up a certain item in the secret room you just found. --------------------------------- Level 1: Staging Area: 4 Secrets --------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, jump down from the ledge and go into the hallway. Follow the hallway until you see a door on your left, killing the Shotgun Guys in your way. When you see the door, open it and go through it. In this room, kill the Zombiemen and then walk up the staircase to your left. Follow this walkway to a platform and then run to get onto it. Examine the vent and it will open, revealing an Armor. Step in to get credit for the secret. 2. From secret 1, go back into the hallway. Follow this hallway to a lift. Press the switch to lower it, get on it, and ride it to the top. Up here, walk forward and go through the opening to your left. In here, turn right and face down the hall. Examine the walls to your right until a secret door opens, revealing a MegaArmor. Step in to get credit for a secret. 3. From secret 2, progress the game until you get to the Blue Door. Once you are at the Blue Door, open it and go through it. In this room, head up the stairs in the corner of the room across from you. At the top, turn back around and you'll see a ledge to jump off. Across from this ledge is a little alcove with a switch inside. RUN across the gap into the alcove and hit the switch. A lift will lower in the corner of the room, next to the Blue Door. RUN to this corner and get on the lift before it goes back up. If you can't get to it, run into the alcove, hit the switch, and try again. Once you get on the lift, ride it to the top. At the top, you'll see a Soulsphere. Step into this area to get credit for a secret. 4. The 4th secret is the secret exit which leads to Level 32: Hectic. You must get to this secret by destroying all barrels EXCEPT for the barrel at the start. Once you destroy the final barrel, go back to the level's starting point via the teleporter at secret 3. Destroy this barrel now and a hidden door will open in the room behind you. Beware, if this door closes, you cannot step back through it. Here are the locations of the barrels: 1) Right next to the cage at the start of the level. ***DO NOT DESTROY THIS BARREL, SAVE IT FOR THE END*** 2) In the corner of the starting room right before the hallway. 3) In the room containing Secret #1 and the Chainsaw. 4) At the top of the lift leading to the Blue Key room, in the corner of the area. 5) Located right next to the MegaArmor in secret 2. 6) After opening the Blue Door, the barrel will be across from you. 7) In the room containing all of the Demons. This room has a switch that opens up the path to the exit. 8) In the hallway leading to the second room with Demons is a lift. Go down the lift and you'll find a room with Health Bonuses and...the barrel. 9) At the bottom of the lift that brings you to secret #3. 10) In the corner of the exit room. Now, if you take the secret exit to Hectic, you won't get the tally screen telling you your kills, items, and secrets. ------------------------------------ Level 2: The Terraformer: 2 Secrets ------------------------------------ 1. Progress the game until you get to the Blue Door. Once you are at the Blue Door, open it and enter the hallway. Follow this hallway to a door, running over all of the gaps. When you get to the next door, open it and go through it. Follow this hallway until you get to a Spectre. Kill the Spectre. To the right of you is a door. To the left of this door are these "panels" on the wall. Examine the far left panel and a lift to your left will open. Get on it and ride it to the top. You will find two areas up here, one containing Boxes of Bullets and the other containing a Box of Shotgun Shells and a Box of Rockets. Step into one of these areas to get credit for a secret. 2. Now, progress the game until you get to the Yellow Key. Once you pick up the Yellow Key, turn around. Walk to the switch across from you and turn left. You should see a new, greenish opening. This room has Boxes of Rockets, and counts as a secret when you walk into it. ------------------------------------- Level 3: Main Engineering: 5 Secrets ------------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, walk straight and hit the switch in front of you. Go down either staircase and open the door at the bottom. In this room, walk forward. Wait for the platform to form in front of you. When it is finished, look at the opening you just came out of, facing the door. There is an opening to your left and right. Go through the opening to your left. In here, turn left and face up the stairs. Walk all the way straight and you will go through a fake wall. In this hidden room is an Invisibility Sphere. 2. Go back down the stairs from secret 1. This time, take the opening on the right. Go up to the top of the stairs and stop. The platform with the Blue Key should be on your right. Facing the wall, walk forward and you will walk through a fake wall. This secret area contains in Invincibility Sphere. 3. Now, progress the game until you get to the Blue Door. When you get to the Blue Door, open it and go through it. In here, kill all of the Cacodemons so that they won't bother you. In this room is a wall of four computer panels. Examine the computer panel on the far left and you should hear the sound of a door opening. A door will open to your left. This secret area has a Berserk, a Chainsaw, and a Box of Shotgun Shells. 4. Now, progress the game until you have the Red Key. Once you have the Red Key, go back through the Yellow Door. Go down to the pit that has two switches. One of the switches should already be activated, as it gave you the Red Key. This is a very tricky secret. Before you activate the other switch, look at the opening leading down to the Yellow Door. To the left of this opening is a corner. YOU MUST GET BACK HERE QUICKLY. Now, go back down to the pit and activate the other switch. A door will open in this room. Step into this room. Now, a little "stump" will be formed in the corner that I told you about. RUN TO THIS CORNER AND USE THE STUMP TO GET ONTO THE LEDGE. This takes a lot of attempts to get right. On this ledge, go into the opening before it closes. This secret area contains a Box of Bullets, a Box of Shotgun Shells, and a Box of Rockets. 5. Now, progress the game until you get to the Red Door. Open the Red Door and go through it. Follow this hallway until you get to the exit switch. When you get to the exit switch, turn around and you'll see a monitor across from you. Examine this monitor and a secret door will open behind you. Go into the new room and you'll be in a secret room with a MegaArmor and a Medikit. --------------------------------- Level 4: Holding Area: 2 Secrets --------------------------------- 1. When you start the level, progress the game until you get to the Blue Door, which leads to the exit (although if you use my walkthrough, you will not need the Blue Key). Facing the Blue Door, turn around. You'll see a computer panel to the left of the staircase. Examine this panel and two doors to your left will open. One of the secret areas has four Rockets, while the other has a Soulsphere. Watch out, as there are Lost Souls in here on harder skill levels. Step into either of these rooms to get credit for a secret. 2. From the first secret, turn around and you'll see four switches. Activate them in this order: 3 (second from the right), 1 (far left), 2 (second to the left), and then 4 (far right). All of the pillars in front of you will even out in height. Now turn around and you'll see a door. Open it and go through it. In here, step through the teleporter. You'll be in front of the four pillars. Strafe and RUN across these pillars to get to the opening on the other side of the room. This can take a bit of practice to do. After you run across all 4 pillars, step into the larger room to get credit for a secret. The exit switch will take you to Level 29: Outpost Omega. ------------------------------- Level 5: Tech Center: 1 Secret ------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, turn left and you will see a staircase heading downward. Head down it until you see a MegaArmor above you. Kill the Spectre to your right before it gives you any problems. Now, facing the MegaArmor, turn left and you'll see a wall with a little vent above you. Examine this wall and it will lower, revealing an opening, so go through it. In here, head up the stairs and pick up the MegaArmor at the top to get credit for a secret. ----------------------------------- Level 6: Alpha Quadrant: 3 Secrets ----------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, progress the game until you have the Yellow Key. Once you have the Yellow Key, drop back down to the floor below you. When you head up the little staircase, you'll hear the sound of a door opening. Head up these stairs and turn right. RUN down the hall. Ignore the first opening to your left and then go through the second opening to your left before it closes. If the door closes, go back up the staircase and try again. Once you get into the room, walk forward and the floor you're on will lower. Kill all of the Lost Souls here and then walk forward. The door in front of you will lower, revealing Zombiemen, so kill them. When all of them are dead, back up and face the cage with the MegaSphere. RUN into this cage and pick up the MegaSphere to get credit for a secret. If the door leading into this room closes, just back up in the Lost Soul hallway and try again. 2. From secret 1, progress the game until you get into the room with the Blue Key. From here, step on the pillar in the middle of the room to make it rise. Now kill the Baron of Hell on the platform and then RUN onto this platform. Hit the switch and then drop back down to the floor below you. Walk to the platform on the middle of the room to make it rise again. Now, RUN onto the other small platform and go through the opening. Kill all of the Hell Knights/Barons of Hell/Pain Elementals across from you. Now, once they are all dead, RUN across the pillars until you stop on the 3rd pillar. Now, turn right and you'll see a window across from you. Facing this window, RUN towards it and then LET GO OF THE RUN BUTTON WHILE HOLDING FORWARD IN THE AIR. This will increase your chances of getting inside this window. If you miss, then step through either teleporters to the opening next of you. In the likely event that you fall in the large pit below you, then getting out can be tricky because of all of the darkness. The way to climb out is to run along the walls around the perimeter of the pit (backwards and forwards) and eventually you'll find staircases against the walls. Try searching the walls right in front of the areas that has the teleporter. Now, once you land in the window, hit the switch. Now, fall out of the window and turn left. To your left should be the area with the teleporters. Across from you is a door, so RUN to it before it closes. If not, then you have to run back into the window and hit the switch again. Once you get inside this room, follow it until you get to a Soulsphere and a switch. Hit the switch and pick up the Soulsphere to get credit for a secret. 3. Now, from secret 2, progress the game until you get to the Blue Key. To the left of the Blue Key is a room with the MegaArmor. If you hit the switch from secret 2, then the door to the MegaArmor room will be open. Pick up the MegaArmor to get credit for a secret. --------------------------------- Level 7: Research Lab: 4 Secrets --------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, progress the level until you get to the room with the Blue Key and the Lost Souls. Once all of the Lost Souls are dead, go through the other opening in this room. In front of you is a door. Search the walls to the left of this door until you find a wall that lowers. When you find it, go through it to get credit for a secret. This wall leads to 2 separate rooms that have a Rocket Launcher and a Box of Rockets. 2. From secret 1, turn back around and open the door next to you. In here, go through the door across from you. Now, head up the stairs and open the door across from you. In this maze area, take either path to get to the opening across from you. Now, go all the way straight and turn right. Facing down the hallway, there are two doors to your left. Open the second door on the left and go through it. In this room, step on the platform in front of you to get the Super Shotgun. Now, standing on the platform, RUN onto the platform with all of the computer panels on it. The computer panel closest to the door you came through is a fake wall, so walk through it. In this secret area is a Computer Area Map. 3. From secret 2, progress the game until you get to the Blue Key. When you are at the Blue Key, do NOT jump off the platform yet. Instead, wait for a wall in front of you to lower, revealing a Soulsphere. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. 4. From secret 3, progress the game until you get to the second Blue Door (not the Blue Door leading to the Plasma Gun). When you get to this door, open it and go through it. In this room, walk down the stairs and go through the door in front of you. In this room, go forward and lower the lift in front of you. While the lift is lowered, search the walls to your right until you find a wall that lowers. Once the wall lowers to the bottom, go through it and you'll find a secret room. This secret has a lot of Rockets, Shotgun Shells, and a Berserk. ---------------------------------- Level 8: Final Outpost: 2 Secrets ---------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, progress the game until you get to the Chaingun. Once you are at the Chaingun, search the walls to your left until you find a door that opens. When you find the door, go through it. In this area, follow this hallway to a switch. When you hit the switch, pick up the Shotgun Shells and a Backpack to your right. There is also a Chainsaw, a Rocket, Light Amplification Goggles (rare item, right?) and a Medikit in this area. Also, watch out for the Lost Souls too. The switch to get out of this area is in the back of the room. And the funny thing is, I just recently found this secret... 2. From secret 1, progress the level until you get to the Blue Key. Once you have the Blue Key, drop down to the water below you. Down here, go into the room on the other side of this pit. Stepping into this room lowers the lift to get back to the teleporter. However, in this room is a small pool of blood. Search the walls next to this blood until you find a hidden door that opens. When it opens, go through it. In this secret area is a MegaArmor. --------------------------------- Level 9: Even Simpler: 0 Secrets --------------------------------- There are no secrets in this level, as simple as it is. ---------------------------------- Level 10: The Bleeding: 7 Secrets ---------------------------------- 1. At the beginning of the map, open the door to your left and go through it. In this room, go left and you will find two Energy Cell Packs. Pick them up and you will hear the sound of a lift dropping. Turn around and run to the opposite side of this room and you will find a hidden room with a Plasma Gun. Pick up this Plasma Gun to get credit for a secret. If the room closes before you can get to it, just run back to where the Energy Cell Packs were and try again. 2. From the first secret, leave this room and go back to the room where you start the level in. This time, go through the door at the opposite end of the room. From here, go right and pick up the Super Shotgun. Yes, this does count as a secret. 3. After you pick up the Super Shotgun, turn around and go to the other side of this room. Now, walk back towards where the Super Shotgun was and you will hear the sound of a lift dropping. Run back to where the Super Shotgun was and you will find a hidden room with a Berserk. Pick up this Berserk to get credit for a secret. If the room closes before you can get into it, just go back to the opposite side of this room and try again. 4. From secret #3, go back to the level's starting room. This time, go down the stairs to your left. At the bottom of the stairs, open the door in front of you and go through it. In this room, go all the way to the other side of this room until you run into the wall. From here, backpedal until the wall in front of you lowers like a lift. Run into this room and pick up the MegaArmor to get credit for a secret. 5. After you pick up the MegaArmor in Secret #4, you will be facing a switch. Before hitting this switch, turn left and you will be facing a rectangular wall. Examine the left half of this wall and the right half will then lower, revealing a Rocket Launcher. Pick up this Rocket Launcher to get credit for a secret. 6. From Secret #5, progress the game until you enter the building on the opposite side of the map. This is the building where you can see the Yellow Key directly across from you upon entering. Once you are in this room, press the switch to your left to reveal two staircases. Take the staircase on the left. Once you get to the top, turn left and you will be facing a window. Examine the tile with the face on it that is to your left and it will open like a door, revealing an Energy Cell Pack. Pick up this Energy Cell Pack to get credit for a secret. Keep in mind that this door can only be opened from the outside once, so once it closes, you will not be able to open this door again. 7. From secret #6, progress the level until you pick up the Yellow Key and then get to the Yellow Door. Open the Yellow Door and then go through it. You will see a BFG across from you, but you are unable to pick it up right now. Go up the stairs to your left. At the top, go straight and you will see a tile with a face on it on the wall to your right. Examine this tile and you will notice the expression on the face change (with the eyes turning red). Now go back down the stairs. The BFG is now accessible, so pick up this BFG to get credit for a secret. --------------------------------- Level 11: Terror Core: 4 Secrets --------------------------------- 1. At the beginning of the level, just turn around and examine the wall behind you. It will open like a door, revealing a Berserk. Just pick up this Berserk to get credit for a secret. Doesn't get any easier than that. 2. After finding the first secret, progress the level until you get to the Blue Key. Once you get the Blue Key, get to the Blue Door, open it, and then go through it. Go to the middle of this room and you will come across a 4-way intersection. Go up the stairs to your left. At the top of the stairs is a door. Open this door and then turn around. The door across from you has opened, revealing a Rocket Launcher. RUN all the way to the other side of this room to get that Rocket Launcher. You will get credit for a secret upon picking up the Rocket Launcher. If the door closes before you can go through it, just turn around and open the door on the opposite side of this room. The door leading to the Rocket Launcher opens whenever this door is opened. 3. From the second secret, progress the level until you get to the Yellow Key. Once you pick up the Yellow Key, turn right. You will see a switch on the wall across from you. Activating this switch is very tricky. Get as far back as possible, and then strafe-run (hold R and C-Left) off of this ledge. Keep pressing C-Right as you approach the wall. You can only hit this switch while in mid-air. This is very difficult to pull off. If you do not hit the switch, go back to the teleporter that brought you to the Yellow Key and try again. Once you hit this switch, go back to the teleporter that brought you to the Yellow Key, but do not step through it. Instead, there is a new opening just to the left of the teleporter. Go through this opening and follow this hallway to a door. Once you get to this door, open it, go through it, and step outside. You will get credit for a secret. Now across from you is a Soulsphere. Be sure to strafe-run across the gap so you can get to the platform that the Soulsphere is on. 4. From the third secret, progress the level until you get to the Yellow Door. Once you get to this Yellow Door, open it and then go through it. Go all the way straight until the hallway turns to the right. Turn right and face the staircase that is doing downwards. Now, back up onto the left behind you and you will see a wall ahead of you and to your left lower, revealing an opening. The best way to get this opening is to strafe-run along the wall to your left while on that higher ledge. If the lowered wall raised before you can get to it, get on the ledge and try again. Once you get through this opening, turn around and you will see a wall and another thing ledge across from you. If the wall in front of you raises, just press C-Right to lower it. Now, back up and strafe-run to get onto the thin ledge across from you. Now, go right along this thin ledge and you will find an opening. Go through this opening and then open the door across from you and go through it. When you step into this room, you will get credit for a secret. Now, to get that MegaArmor, just back up and strafe-run across the gap to get onto that platform, just as you did with the Soulsphere in secret #3. ----------------------------------- Level 12: Altar of Pain: 2 Secrets ----------------------------------- 1. At the start of the level, turn right and go through the tunnel across from you. In this tunnel, examine the wall to your right until you find a hidden door, revealing a Soulsphere. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. 2. From the first secret, progress the level until you get to the Yellow Key. Once you get to the Yellow Key, pick it up and then RUN onto the platform across from you, which has a Soulsphere. You'll also notice that this platform is shaped like an arrow. This "arrow" is pointing towards a wall. Face this wall and RUN off the platform and you will go through this wall and into a hidden room. You will get credit for a secret when entering this room. Of course, in this room is a teleporter, which is the secret exit, leading to Level 30: The Lair. ---------------------------------- Level 13: Dark Citadel: 2 Secrets ---------------------------------- 1. At the start of the level, get out of the little alcove that you start in. Once you are out of this alcove, turn left and go all the way straight until you run into a wall. Once you run into this wall, press C-Right on it and it will lower, revealing a secret area. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. In this secret are Rockets, a Backpack, an Energy Cell Pack, Boxes of Bullets, and Shotgun Shells. 2. After you find the first secret, progress the level until the door near the level's starting point is opened. When you step through this door, you can go in one of three directions, straight, left, or right. Go left and you will come into a room with a Medikit and a Box of Shotgun Shells. Go into the opening in the corner of this room and you will be in a small hallway, which connects you to another bigger room. In this small hallway, examine the walls on your left until a hidden door opens. Once you open up the hidden door, go through it. You will get credit for a secret when you step into this room. In this secret area are two long hallways. One hallway will bring you to a Megasphere while the other hallway leads you to a BFG. ------------------------------------- Level 14: Eye of the Storm: 1 Secret ------------------------------------- 1. At the start of the level, there are two staircases that are near you that are off-screen, one to the left and one to the right. Go up the staircase on the right. At the top, follow this walkway, going up a lift and until you stop at an opening that is blocked off by bars. To the left of this opening is a wall with two yellow rectangular panels. Press C-Right on the right yellow panel and then turn around. Jump into the water below you and turn left. There is an opening that is now temporarily opened, so RUN through it. If the bars come back up, simply go back up the stairs and activate the panel again. Once you are in this room, follow it to a lift which will bring you to a BFG and an Energy Cell Pack. Pick up the BFG to get credit for a secret. --------------------------------- Level 15: Dark Entries: 1 Secret --------------------------------- 1. At the start of the level, open the door in front of you and go through it. In this large room, run over to your right, go through the opening, and step through the teleporter at the top of the stairs. In this room, turn and face the wall to your right. You will notice on the left that there are bricks that are misaligned with the rest of the bricks. Examine these misaligned bricks and a hidden door will open, revealing a secret room. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. In this room, there is a Backpack, two Boxes of Shotgun Shells, and two Boxes of Rockets. ------------------------------- Level 16: Blood Keep: 1 Secret ------------------------------- 1. Progress this level until you get to the Blue Door (with the Blue Key, of course). Once you get to the Blue Door, open it and then go through it. In this room, turn right and you will notice a yellow panel. Remember where this panel is. Now, go straight up the first flight of stairs and stop at the wall. Now, turn right and you will see a pit, a bookcase, and a Plasma Gun blocked by two bars. Jump into this pit and press C-Right on the bookcase, and it will lower like a lift. From here, RUN to that yellow panel and press C-right on it, and the bars blocking the Plasma Gun will open up. Now, RUN back to the lowered bookcase before it rises again. If the staircase rises you can lower it from the outside, don't worry. Now, RUN into the opening with the Plasma Gun before the bars close. You will get credit for the secret when you step into this area. However, it is pretty difficult to get to this Plasma Gun so it will likely take several tries. ------------------------------------- Level 17: Watch Your Step: 2 Secrets ------------------------------------- 1 and 2. It is much more easier and less time-consuming to get these two secrets together, because if you decide to go for them separately, you will need to backtrack to open up one secret or the other. When you start this level, progress the map until you get to the Blue Door (with the Blue Key, of course). Once you get to the Blue Door, open it and then go through it. In this room, go up either lift. At the top, step through the teleporter in the middle of the area. Now take out your Pistol, either Shotgun, or the Chaingun. Shoot one bullet directly across from you and a door behind you will open, revealing a switch, so hit it. You will get credit for a secret when you step into here. After you hit this switch, turn around. A teleporter will be in your way, so you will have to step on it, which will teleport you to the previous room. Just walk off and walk back on the teleporter to go back to the room that had the secret switch. From here, go forward and drop to the floor below you. Go all the way straight to the other side of the room. Press C-Right to lower the lift in front of you, get on it, and ride it to the top. Up here, step on the teleporter in front of you. In this room, step off the teleporter and step back on it to be teleported to the previous room. Take your Pistol, either Shotgun, or your Chaingun and fire one bullet directly across from you. A door behind you will open, revealing a switch, so step into this room and hit the switch. You will get credit for a secret by stepping into this small room. So, what do these switches do? Well, go back to that hallway that connects the starting room to the square room with the Blue Key. In the middle of this hallway is a Shotgun, which is in between two staircases. Go to where the Shotgun is/was and you will find two new openings. One will lead to a Megasphere while the other will lead to the Invincibility Sphere. I'd save these for the Cyberdemon (or Cyberdemons, if playing on Watch Me Die!). ---------------------------------- Level 18: Spawned Fear: 5 Secrets ---------------------------------- 1. At the beginning of the level, open the door in front of you and go through it. Out here, turn left and you will see the Yellow Door across from you. Go down the opening to your right and you will see a wall to your right. This is actually a fake wall, so you can walk right through it, going into a secret room. You will get credit for a secret when you step into this room. In this room are a couple of Zombiemen, several Health Bonuses, and a Soulsphere, so pick them all up. 2. From the first secret, go back to the door at the beginning of the level. This time, go down the stairs across from the door. At the bottom of the stairs, open the door to your right and go through it. In this room, open the door across from you and go through it. In this room, you will see two blue face panels to your left. Press C-Right against the panel on the left. Turn around and you will then see a wall lower, revealing two Medikits. Step into this hidden area to get credit for a secret. 3. From secret #2, progress the level until you get to the Red Key. Once you have the Red Key, turn around and go back to the hallway that led to the Red Key. In this hallway are red panels to your left and right. Press C-Right on the first panel to your left and it will open like a door, revealing a hidden room with a Plasma Gun. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. 4. From secret #3, progress the game until you get to the Red Door. Once you get to the Red Door, open and it go through it. In this room, kill the Hell Knights and then go down the passage where the bookcases are. Examine the book cases until one of them lowers, revealing an opening. Go through this opening and then go straight up the stairs and you'll be outside. Once you are outside, turn left and then go all the way straight until you bump into a wall. Examine this wall until you find a wall that lowers, revealing a hidden room. In this room is a Megasphere, two Energy Cells, and two Boxes of Rockets. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. 5. From secret #4, progress the level until you get to the Yellow Door. Once you are at the Yellow Door (obviously, with the Yellow Key), open it and then go through it. In this room, go up the stairs in the corner of the room. At the top of the stairs, you will hear a door open. RUN back down the stairs and get back through the Yellow Door. Go down the path to your left. Down this path, turn left and you will see a hidden teleporter in the corner of this room (this is the area that had the Backpack). Run into this room to get credit for a secret. This teleporter is actually a secret exit, and will take you to Level 31: In the Void. If the door closes before you can get to the teleporter, go back through the Yellow Door and walk back up the stairs to open up this hidden door. Note that you do not need to step on the exit teleporter to get credit for a secret. If you can get to the space right before the teleporter, you will get credit for a secret. -------------------------------- Level 19: The Spiral: 0 Secrets -------------------------------- Nope, there is not a single secret in this level. ----------------------------------- Level 20: The Breakdown: 3 Secrets ----------------------------------- 1. When you start this level, progress the map until you have the Blue Key and get to the Blue Door. Once you are at the Blue Door, hit the switch in front of it to open it up and go through. In this hallway, go all the way right until you run into a wall. A set of red bars should be to your left. You should also notice that this wall is slightly misaligned. Examine it and a hidden door should open, revealing a hidden room. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. This area has a Soulsphere. 2. From secret #1, turn around and go all the way back towards the other side of the hall. Now, jump down into the big room to your right. Down here, kill the Nightmare Imps and Hell Knights (depending on your skill level), and then two staircases will rise up leading you back to the previous hallway behind you. Before you go up these stairs, hit the switch and you will hear the sound of a door quickly opening. Turn around and go up the staircase to your right, and run into the small, newly revealed room with the MegaArmor. If the door leading to this room closes, go back down the stairs, hit the switch, and try again. Once you pick up the MegaArmor, turn back around and go down the stairs. You will see a newly opened room on the other side of this room. Step into it to get credit for a secret. This room contains a Backpack along with several Rockets. 3. From secret #2, progress the level until you get to the red bars (with the Red Key, of course). Open up these Red Bars and hit the switch on the other side. Now, turn around and go up the newly revealed stairs. At the top, follow the hallway until you get outside and into the maze area. Out here, take the first path to your right and follow it until you see a staircase to your right. Go up these stairs. At the top, go right and follow this path until you get to a switch. Hit the switch once you get to it. Now, turn around and go back down the stairs that you used to get up to the switch. At the bottom of the stairs, go right and follow the path until you get to a four-way intersection. Go right at this intersection and you will find yourself at another four-way intersection. Go right and then up the stairs at this intersection. At the top of these stairs, open the door at the end of the path and go through it. Hit the switch in this room and then turn around and go back down the stairs. Back at this intersection, notice how there are two paths directly in front of you. One path has a small tunnel (on your right) with a Medikit while the other has a staircase (on your left). Go up the stairs first and hit the switch at the top. You should hear the sound of a lift dropping. Now, RUN back down the stairs and go into the tunnel where the Medikit is. If you were fast enough, there should be an opened room to your left in this tunnel with a BFG. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. If you could not get to this room in time, go back up those stairs (because of the wall rising back up), hit the switch at the top, and try again. Might be easier if you strafe-run to this secret. ------------------------------ Level 21: Pitfalls: 3 Secrets ------------------------------ 1. Progress the level until you have the Yellow Key (which is in the starting room). Once you have the Yellow Key, open the Yellow Door and then go through it. In this room, walk forward and stairs will form into a room below you. Go down these stairs. At the bottom, immediately jump into the pit to your right. To your right should be a narrow passage; go into it. Be quick, because you are in a toxic pit. Hit the switch at the end of this passage and the lift to your left will lower, so get on it and ride it to the top. Step into the room up top to get credit for a secret. This area has an Energy Cell, a Box of Rockets, and a Rocket Launcher. 2. From secret #1, progress the level until you teleport into the maze area (this is the area with the gray stone hallways and has a Blue Door in it). When you teleport into this area, go all the way straight until you hit a wall. Once you hit this wall, turn around. To your left and right are several panels with faces on them. Notice the face panels on the left. The facial expression on the middle panel keeps changing (you'll notice with the red eyes on the face). Shoot this panel with your Fist, Chainsaw, Pistol, either Shotgun, or the Chaingun, and you will hear the sound of a lift dropping. Go straight and you will see a door to your left. Across from this door is a small room with a MegaArmor. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. If the lift rises back up again, simply go back and shoot at the panel with the changing face to lower it again. 3. Facing secret #2, turn left. Now, go straight until you see a hallway to your right. When you get to this hallway, go through it. In this hallway, turn right and you will be facing down another hallway. On the wall to the left you will notice some misaligned bricks. Examine these bricks and the wall will lower, revealing a hidden room. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. This room has 3 Medikits and 3 Rockets. ------------------------------------- Level 22: Burnt Offerings: 6 Secrets ------------------------------------- 1 and 2. The first two secrets of this level are in the same room. At the start of the level, go outside and then take a right into the courtyard area. Now, go into the room with all of the pillars across from you. Open the door in this room and then go through it. In here, there is a staircase to your right. Before going down the stairs, examine the wall directly across from you and it should open, revealing a secret room, so open it. You will get credit for one secret for stepping in this room. To get credit for the second secret, turn right. You will see a Backpack on top of a platform with a switch. Hit this switch to lower the platform, and then step on it to get credit for the second secret, along with the Backpack. Just get out of the room quickly, as the ceiling will turn into a crushing ceiling. 3 and 4. Just like the first two secrets, you will get the next two secrets pretty much consecutively. After you get the first two secrets, progress the level until you have the Blue Key and get to the Blue Door. Before opening the Blue Door, turn right and you will see a wall. Press C-Right on this wall and the wall will open up, revealing a hidden room with a teleporter. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. To get credit for the fourth secret, simply step onto the teleporter and you'll be teleported to a hidden room. This alone will give you credit for another secret. And right across from you is a Megasphere, so pick it up. The teleporter takes you back into that large pillar room. 5. After the getting the past two secrets, get back to the Blue Door. This time, open the Blue Door and go through it. Before picking up the Rocket Launcher in the middle of the room, examine the walls to your left until one lowers, revealing a switch. Hit this switch to raise barriers surrounding the Rocket Launcher. Now pick up the Rocket Launcher and arrows will start firing at you, but they will be blocked from hitting you because of the barriers that you just raised. Once the homing missiles stop firing, a door in this room opens, so go through it. In here, turn left and you will see a wall across from you. Examine this wall and it should open, revealing a hidden room. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. This secret contains a MegaArmor and 3 Boxes of Rockets. In addition, go to the bottom of the stairs and examine the wall across from you. This will lowest, and it will provide you a shortcut back to the staircase that led to the Blue Key. 6. From secret #5, go up the stairs that led you to the Blue Key. At the top, go down the passage next to you. In this passage, you will two balconies to your left, that let you look outside at the large courtyard. Go to either balcony. Across from you in the middle of the courtyard is a gargoyle statue that is raised up on a ledge that is about your height. Shoot this gargoyle with your Pistol, either Shotgun, or the Chaingun. Wait a second and then the gargoyle will turn into a Soulsphere, and then the ledge will come down to the ground. You can then jump down to the courtyard and step into the area where the Soulsphere is to get credit for a secret. ----------------------------------- Level 23: Unholy Temple: 3 Secrets ----------------------------------- 1. At the start of the level, kill all of the Arachnotrons so you will be able to access all of the teleporters that are blocked off. Step through any teleporter and you will be taken to the level above you. Up here, kill all of the Spectres in one of you. Now, go around this path counter clockwise until you see a lift leading to the level above you. If there are bars blocking this lift, remember, you need to kill all of the Spectres around you to remove those bars. Lower the lift, get on it, and ride it to the top. Now, turn around and you shouldsee a platform with a Laser, two Energy Cells, and two Energy Cell Packs. On this platform is a panel, so shoot that panel with your Pistol, either Shotgun, or the Chaingun. The platform will lower like a lift, so RUN to it (going back down to the water) before it goes back up. If you miss it, you'll need to use one of the two teleporters in the water level to get back to that lift. Once you step on this platform you'll get credit for a secret. 2. From the first secret, progress the level until you get to the Red Door, with the Red Key. Once you get to the Red Door, open it and go through it. In here, be sure to kill all of the Hell Knights/Barons of Hell (depending on difficult level) so that you will create two staircases onto the higher ledge surrounding the perimeter of this room (and will allow you to get the Yellow Key). Go to the staircase that leads right up to a wall (as opposed to the staircase that brings you to the exit). At the top of the steps, press C-Right and examine the wall in front of you. The wall will lower, revealing a hidden area with a Rocket and three Boxes of Rockets. Step into this area to get credit for a secret. 3. From secret #2, progress the game until you arrive at the Yellow Bars (with the Yellow Key). Once you are at these bars, open them and then go through. Now, RUN down the hall so you can jump over the pit and get into the room across from you. On the middle of this platform is a pillar. You should be on the side of the pillar that has nothing but bricks (and does not have a switch). This is a fake wall, so walk through it and you will be teleported to another ledge in this room. This is a secret area which contains several Rockets and a Soulsphere. ------------------------------- Level 24: No Escape: 3 Secrets ------------------------------- 1. At the start of the level, hit the switch in front of you to open all four of the doors in this room. Once you hit the switch, turn around and go through the opened door and the lift you're on will lower, bringing you outside. Out here, turn right and you will see an opening blocked by a set of bars. Directly across from these bars is a lift, so lower it, get on it, and ride it to the top. At the top, hit the switch and the bars blocking that opening will be lowered. Jump off the platform and go into the opening that was previously blocked by the bars. In here, you will be in front of a spiral staircase that brings you to a Soulsphere. About halfway down this spiral staircase, you will come across a Medikit. Examine the walls near this Medikit and eventually you will find a hidden door that opens, revealing a secret room. Step into this room to get credit for a secret. This room has two Energy Cells and a Plasma Gun. 2. Once you find the first secret, go back up the spiral stairs and go back outside. Back out here, turn right. Now go all the way straight until you come across a set of stairs leading into another room. Go up the stairs and into this room. In here, there is a 4 x 4 set of pillars. Turn left so that all of these pillars are to your right. Walk forward until you get to the third pillar on your right (in the front row). Notice how this pillar has switches on three of its four sides, and how there is no switch on one of the sides. Examine the side of the pillar that does not have a switch on it by pressing C-Right. This will cause a pillar behind you to lower to the ground, revealing a Backpack. Step onto this pillar to get credit for a secret. 3. Once you are finished finding the second secret, go back outside and go back down the stairs. Back out here, go counter clockwise around this area until you find a Rocket Launcher sitting on a platform with a switch on it. You currently cannot get this Rocket Launcher. Now, directly facing the switch on that platform with the Rocket Launcher, turn around and you will find a lift, so lower it, get on it, and ride it to the top. Up here, face the room that is blocked off by bars just to the right of the Rocket Launcher. This room contains the Cyberdemon(s) (depending on your skill level). Note how there is a column on each side of the entrance leading to the room with the Cyberdemons. Also note the lava river just off to the right of this entrance. Shoot that left column with a Pistol, either Shotgun, or a Chaingun, and you should notice a hidden door open in that lava river, revealing a secret room. RUN to that secret room and you will get credit for a secret when walking into it. There is a BFG in this secret area. If the door shuts before you can get into the secret room, then you'll need to go back up that lift across from the Rocket Launcher and shoot that column again. ---------------------------------------------- Level 25: Cat and Mouse: 1 Secret *Fun Level* ---------------------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, go down the hallway to your left and you will come at an intersection. Take the path to your left. You should be facing an Imp cage. Now, turn right and there should be an Imp cage across from you. Walk up towards this cage and turn right. There should be a wall to your right. Go forward to the other side of this wall. Part of this wall is a fake wall, so keep trying to walk through this wall until you find a secret area. This area has several Rockets and Health Bonuses. ------------------------------------------ Level 26: Hardcore: 0 Secrets *Fun Level* ------------------------------------------ There are no secrets in this level. -------------------------------------------- Level 27: Playground: 0 Secrets *Fun Level* -------------------------------------------- No secrets in the Playground either. ------------------------------------ Level 28: The Absolution: 0 Secrets ------------------------------------ And there are no secrets in the final level of the game either. ----------------------------------- Level 29: Outpost Omega: 7 Secrets ----------------------------------- 1. From the start of the level, progress the level until you get to the room with the Cacodemons and the Pain Elemental (just beyond the room with 4 cages). In this room, walk to the switch to the other side of the room and you will hear the sound of a lift dropping. Turn around and go back straight and you'll see an Armor to your left. RUN to it before it rises again. If not, go back to the switch and try again. Once you get to the platform with the Armor on it, hit the switch and a lift on the other side of this room will lower. RUN to this lift before it rises. On this lift is a Super Shotgun. Pick it up to get credit for a secret. 2. From secret 1, progress the game until you get to the Blue Door. When you get to the Blue Door, open it and go through it. In this room, fall down to the floor below you. Now, fall down to the floor to your left. Down here is a computer panel to your left. Examine this panel and you will hear the sound of a lift dropping. Now, fall down to the floor next to the computer panel, and then fall down to the floor below you. Down here, turn left and you'll see a Soulsphere. Pick it up before the bars rise again. If you miss it, turn around, go through either teleporter at the other end of the room, activate the computer panel, and then try again. Picking up the Soulsphere will give you credit for a secret. 3. With your back to the Blue Door, drop down to the floor below you. Down here, drop down to the floor to your left. You'll be standing next to the computer panel again. This time, turn around and you'll see a platform across from you. RUN to this platform and stop. Now, turn left and you'll see a wall. Examine this wall and it will lower, revealing a switch across from you. Shoot this switch with either a Pistol, either Shotgun, or a Chaingun and a Laser will appear right in front of you. Pick it up to get credit for a secret. 4. From secret 3, turn right and you'll see a platform that has a switch and either an Imp/Hell Knight (depending on skill level). Kill whichever enemy is there and then RUN to this platform. Hit the switch and then turn around. RUN across the two platforms and quickly get on the lowered lift to your right. If you miss the lift, go back, hit the switch, and then try again. When you get on the lift, ride it to the top. You will see a switch on the wall across from you. Shoot this switch with either a Pistol, either Shotgun, or a Chaingun. After you shoot the switch, drop back down to the platform below you. Now, RUN to the platform on your left. On here, you'll see a newly raised platform to your right. Walk onto it and a floor will lower in front of you, containing an Imp and a Backpack. Kill the Imp and then RUN onto this platform. Pick up the Backpack to get credit for a secret. 5. From secret 4, RUN back to the platform across from you. There is also another platform next to you that has an Imp and a MegaArmor. Kill the Imp. Now, this secret is a bit harder to get onto. So strafe and RUN (at an angle) until you get onto this platform. If you miss, then drop down to the lowest floor, go through either teleporter, and then try again. Picking up the MegaArmor will give you credit for a secret. 6. From secret 5, strafe and RUN back onto the larger platform. To your right is the platform that contains a switch (and had an Imp/Hell Knight. RUN back onto this platform and hit the switch. Turn around and RUN across the two platforms. To your right is the lowered lift. Get back on it and ride it to the top. Up here, that same switch you shot earlier is now open again. Shoot the switch with either a Pistol, either Shotgun, or the Chaingun. Now drop back down to the floor below you. Down here, turn left and RUN back to the platform across from you. Remember that platform that was raised up that led to secrets 4 and 5? It has lowered, revealing a door, so drop down to it. Down here, open the door. In front of you is a Demon Artifact. Picking it up will count as a secret, and you'll get a message saying "You have the feeling that it wasn't meant to be touched..." 7. From secret 6, progress the game to the end of the level. At the end of the level, you must hit two switches to open up the exit. After you hit the second switch, Cacodemons and Pain Elementals will appear. Kill all of them. Once they are all dead, hit the third switch in this room (from the middle switch, just turn right and follow this hallway until you see it). A door to your right will open, revealing a Box of Bullets, a Box of Shotgun Shells, a Box of Rockets, and an Energy Cell. ------------------------------ Level 30: The Lair: 4 Secrets ------------------------------ 1. The first secret is the Demon Artifact. Once you get to the room with the Demon Artifact, go up the middle staircase in this room. At the top of the stairs, take out your Pistol. Now, turn left and go straight until you see a room on your left. Turn left and face this room. Before stepping into here, be sure you are facing the window across from you. Now, step into this room and a switch will reveal itself on the wall across from you. Shoot this switch with your Pistol. After shooting it, turn left and you will see another window. Across from you is another hidden switch, so shoot it. This will cause the Demon Artifact at the bottom of the stairs to lower, so you can pick it up and get credit for a secret. Be aware that the switches will reveal themselves for a few seconds, so if you miss one switch or the other, you need to step back into this room and try again. 2. Once you pick up the Demon Artifact, progress the level until you get to the Yellow Key. Once you get to the Yellow Key, pick it up. Now, backpedal and you will notice that you are on a 4-way intersection, with openings to your left and right. Turn right and face this hallway. Right across from you is a gargoyle. Press C-Right to "activate" this gargoyle. Now, turn around and you will see a hallway across from you. Go down this hallway until you find an opening at the end. Go through this opening and then follow this hallway until you find a MegaArmor. Pick up this MegaArmor to get credit for a secret. 3. After picking up the MegaArmor, go back to where you "activated" that gargoyle to open up secret #2. This time, follow this hallway until you get to a Soulsphere. Pick up this Soulsphere to get credit for a secret. 4. From secret #3, go back to where the 4-way intersection was that led you to the Yellow Key. Facing where the Yellow Key was, turn left and face down the hallway that led you to secret #2. Across from you is a gargoyle. Go up to this gargoyle and press C-Right to "activate" it. Notice how with this gargoyle, and the gargoyle you activated to open up secret #2 that they are glowing, unlike the other gargoyles in this area. Once this gargoyle is "activated" turn around and go back to the spiral staircase. Go up this spiral staircase, being sure to keep an eye on the wall to your right. Eventually you will find a newly revealed Berserk on the right. Pick up this Berserk to get credit for a secret. This Berserk is located near the top of the spiral staircase. --------------------------------- Level 31: In the Void: 0 Secrets --------------------------------- There are no secrets in this secret level. And no, the Demon Artifact does not count as a secret. ---------------------------- Level 32: Hectic: 0 Secrets ---------------------------- There are no secrets in this map. =================== 10.
