Character Guide! Flying Dragon Nintendo 64 Character: Shouryu Writer: me of course. Trp6@yahoo.com { <-- don't ask, I couldn't get a good address} 1) The Game in itself 2) The Originality 3) The Character 4) Basics 5) For those people who love to be cheap... 1) The Game in itself The game in itself as a whole is really pretty good, and very under- advertised for it's entire package. I recommend this game highly, to any fighter who ever wanted to change the characters of the game in a slight detail, and to those who want to be perfectionists {or cheap fighters} against someone else. 2) The Originality Where else can you find a game with 2 different {and I mean different} modes of play? A childish, item-based fighting {the RPG style part} and a touchy, adult {not adult rated, just adult characters} technical fighting mode? With 2 hidden characters in each mode, and PLENTY of possibilities of this game, no wonder it's original. Or else I wouldn't be stressing the issue now would I? One more thing...this is a game where you spend hours {with a memory card} building up your character, just so you can play your {built up} character, against his newbie character....that one will leave a mark :-) 3) The Character This Guide is for the Child, item-based mode...where Shouryu looks like a native American in a bright yellow suit. Ok, ok so he looks bad, but still... a master at this character can be hard to beat {if you throw a few of those cheap skills that everyone loves to do, but everyone else hates to be done to} he's got throws, he's got power attacks, and a good first 2 special attacks. Not to mention he has decent item capabilities. He's a good character for those who aren't into the super-power, or super-quick fighting. He is a character designed for people who sneak in a few hits at a time, and for those people who just love to keep their opponent on the ground. 4) Basics Ok, the basics...can't have a good character without basics... {ok you can, but shhhh..no one knows that} The most useful basic moves, and why, and how... {in no particular order} {using default controller settings} A) Toward+ B Rising Knee. Great if your in close and you want to grab a few extra hits once he/she is airborne. If someone's running towards you, hit `em with this before they can block. B) Run, Then Down + C-Down Lunging Sweep. If your running, often opponent will be guarding up {or not at all} you can run, sweep him/her off his/her feet then hit `em when they are down {little cheap thing} C) Punch (x4) Then C-Down 4-hit punch combo then back breaker... useful because even if they block the punches...they can't block the slam! :-) 5) For those People Who love to be cheap! A) See the basics section...pretty much the whole thing. B) Back Then Forward + C-down {and if they blocked} Forward Then Back + C- Down Lunging attack, then Face-First Slam. The Slam only Works when your close... and if they blocked the lunging attack, you'll be close enough! So slam `em face first before they counter attack. {may take practice} C) Hit `em when their down! When opponent is lying on the ground, just hit toward + C-Down... Extra damage. D) {When opponent is running} Forward + C-Down. Lunging Drop Kick. Opponent won't have time to stop running and block. Then hit `em when their down. E) C-Left {After opponent blocked part of a combo} You'll do your regular spinning attack, they'll probably block it...but it hurts `em anyway :-) F) Up + C-Left {when opponent is standing} They won't have a chance to dodge before doing multiple kick attack. G) {If you hit their minds' eye spot} Up + C-left {quickly!} should hit it before they recover H) when opponent is doing a combo Back + C-Down Backflip, Should smash `em in the head and knock `em to the ground. I) When opponent jumps at you... {good timing here} Up + C-Down Up- Backflip Should kick the opponent right out of the sky. So a combination between all of `em should make you a cheap fighter that no one will like because they can't hurt you very often. Legal Stuff- If you want to use this, PLEASE, and I mean please, inform me and give me some credit for writing this. Otherwise I don't mind, after all, I'm not the one who made it up, I just use the game and write what I think. ~Vegeta007
