===================================DISCLAIMER================================== I have decided not to allow websites other than Gamefaqs (www.gamefaqs.com), IGN (faqs.ign.com) & Gamespot (www.gamespot.com) to host my FAQs from now on. Please don't ask, because I will not grant permission. It's just that too many sites don't keep their version of my FAQ up to date which makes for a lot of hassle in my mailbox. So if anyone sees this FAQ on any site other than those mentioned above, please let me know and I will take care of the situation, thanks. Just to make things crystal clear for some people, this FAQ is not to appear anywhere at the following URLs: http://www.cheatcc.com http://www.cheatindex.com This document Copyright 2004,2017,2022 Daniel Engel =============================================================================== Pokemon Snap FAQ January 23, 2022 Daniel (DEngel) Engel dan.engel.2017 [AT] gmail [DOT] com twitch.tv/dengelchill ############################################################################### (A) TABLE OF CONTENTS ############################################################################### Table of Contents (A) This Table of Contents (B) Introduction (C) Pictures (D) Items (E) Stickers (F) Tips (G) Alternate Stage Exits (H) Secret Stage (I) The Pokemon (J) Advanced Strategies (K) Challenge Scores (L) Experimental ############################################################################### (B) INTRODUCTION ############################################################################### You play as Todd, a gifted photographer in a vehicle that travels through each stage of Pokemon Island. Each stage is actually a different area of the island. (Eg: A beach, a tunnel, a volcano, etc.) You do not have complete freedom of movement, the vehicle (known as the Zero-One) has a path that it follows every time you play a stage. In most levels it is on a rail, in others it floats down river on pontoons, even using jet boosters in one stage to fly about. Every time you play a stage you get a fresh roll of film that has room for a maximum of 60 pictures. ############################################################################### (C) PICTURES ############################################################################### Your basic goal in the game is to get the best possible picture of each pokemon. You start out the game with only a camera, but you will be given other items to use as you progress further. Different pokemon are located in different areas (stages), so you must open up new stages by either getting a high enough score from Dr. Oak, based upon the pictures that you have taken. This can also be done by hitting a switch in the level, but these switches cannot be hit by you. You must instead get a pokemon to hit it for you by using some of the extra items. ======= SCORING ======= Once you have gone through a stage and taken all the pictures that you wanted. (60 or less) You can then go see Dr. Oak and get them graded. He grades based on the following criteria: [Size] - The bigger they are while still fitting in the picture, the better your score. [Pose] - Make sure the pokemon is facing you, and try to get them doing something other than just sitting there. [Technique] - Make sure they are centered in the picture. When your view finder turns red and beeps, they are centered. If you do this your score in the other three categories gets multiplied by two. [Other Pokemon] - Try to get more than one pokemon of the same type in the picture. ====== ALBUMS ====== You can go see Dr. Oak and give him one picture per species of pokemon. He will take these pictures and put them in an album. (Eg: Get your best picture of Pikachu graded, and it will go into his album for the Pikachu section) Now there is also an personal album where you can keep any pictures that you like. This album can hold a maximum of 60 pictures. Finally there is the gallery which can only hold 4 pictures, and these pictures can be taken from Dr. Oak's album or your personal one. Once you have chosen 4 pictures you can print them out at a Pokemon Snap station at a participating Blockbuster Video store near you. ############################################################################### (D) ITEMS ############################################################################### These extra items will help you in your pokemon journey: [Pokemon Food] You can throw this and get a picture of a pokemon eating. You could also use these to lure a pokemon to another pokemon or an object. Can also be used as a weapon, hit a pokemon with it to knock them out, or anger them. You are given Pokemon Food by Dr. Oak once your pokemon report score is 14000 or more. [Pester balls] Use these to annoy, distract, or manipulate pokemon. These also can be thrown in certain locations on the landscape to cause certain things to occur. (Eg: In the volcano stage try throwing a pester ball into one of the many craters and see what happens...) [Poke Flute] Use this to get a reaction out of a pokemon. Some may like the noise and dance, or even use special moves. Others may not, and might try attacking things. This is given to you by Dr. Oak once you find one of the six pokemon signs. [Speed up] This can be used to make the Zero-One travel faster. It is given to you once you find Dr. Oak's secret lab. (When you find the alternate exit in the Valley stage.) ############################################################################### (E) STICKERS ############################################################################### Now what's the point of taking all these pictures if you have nothing to remember them by? Well Nintendo has teamed up with Blockbuster Video to help players of Pokemon Snap get more out of the game. What I mean is that you can print out your pictures IN COLOUR at your local Blockbuster Video store. What you do is take your game pak to the store, and purchase a collectable Pokemon Snap smart card at the counter. (There are 5 of them and they feature Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Jigglypuff.) Once you have purchased your smart card, you plug your game pak and the smart card into the display at the store. Now you are ready to choose your pictures. You pick 4 pictures that you want printed out, these can be taken either from Dr. Oak's album, or your personal album. Once you have your four pictures chosen you print them out. You get a sheet of sixteen stickers, that is four copies of each picture. Now you just have to decide what to do with them. Now according to Nintendo Power Magazine, the price to print out these sixteen stickers is three US dollars. In Canada the price is about $4.50. This is VERY important, make sure that there is nothing that you don't mind losing in the extreme four corners of your pictures. This is because when the stickers are printed out they are not printed in perfect rectangular shapes. The machine rounds the four corners, which cuts off a little bit off your pictures in these corners. It also cuts about two millimeters off of the left, right, and top sides. So if you had a close-up picture of something like a Gyarados lets say, you might get one of its eyes or horns cut off, if they are close to the edge of the picture. This is just something that you should keep in mind while you are deciding on your four gallery pictures. (As of this moment I have purchased two smart cards (Jigglypuff & Pikachu), and have used both.) You only get to do one sticker-printing session per smart card. However the quality of the stickers is very good. They are in bright, vibrant colours, and the printing process takes about two minutes. ############################################################################### (F) TIPS ############################################################################### Here are a few tips, that you should find helpful. Basically try to get a feel for each level, and the locations of the pokemon. After all you can replay a course an infinite number of times, and then you can get as many pictures as you want of the pokemon, if you know where they are. You could even use 10 of your pictures on one pokemon. Then you'll have all the more pictures to choose from when Dr. Oak grades that particular pokemon. Also be sure to revisit previous stages once you have received the extra items. Especially after getting the pokemon food, you can then use it to lure pokemon in front of your vehicle to buy you precious seconds to get more pics. ############################################################################### (G) ALTERNATE STAGE EXITS ############################################################################### Some stages have more than one exit to them, if you find this alternate exit you will gain access to a new stage. [Tunnel] Near the end of the stage you will find three Magnemites, just to their right you will see an Electrode. If you hit it with food or a pester ball it will explode and open up the alternate exit. [River] Near the end of the stage you will see a red button on the ground, on your right. If you look at the wall behind the button you will see something moving, throw a pester ball at the movement. A Porygon will burst out and stomp the button, thereby opening the alternate exit. [Valley] Near the end of the stage you will see three Squirtles. Two of them will take off, and leave the third one. Wait until you are lined of between the Squirtle and the Mankey, then hit the Squirtle with a pester ball. It will then fly up towards the Mankey and knock it off the mountain. On the other side you will see that same Mankey again, hit it with a pester ball and it will fall backwards on to the switch, which opens the alternate exit. ############################################################################### (H) SECRET STAGE ############################################################################### If you can find Dr. Oak's secret lab, he will send you out into the six stages to find some scenery pictures (signs). Once you return to him with these six pictures he will grant you access to the Rainbow Cloud stage where you will try to get a picture of MEW, pokemon #151. (You'll find his secret lab through the alternate exit in course six, the Valley.) ========= THE SIGNS ========= There are six signs to find, one on each stage. Beach - Kingler This sign looks like a crab made out of rocks. You'll find it on the left near the start of the level. Tunnel - Pinsir This sign is a shadow cast on a wall, and it's found before the magnemite near the end of the level. In order to see it though you must first release Zapdos from its egg earlier on in the stage. Volcano - Koffing This sign looks like purple smoke, and you'll find it on the left near the start of the level. Throw a pester ball or two into the volcano on the left to get this sign to appear. River - Cubone This sign looks like a large rock formation and is found above the Vileplume near the beginning of the level. Cave - Mewtwo This sign looks like formation of four shiny crystals and it's found midway through the level. Look left once you see the first Koffing and Jigglypuff, you shouldn't miss it. Valley - Dugtrio Right at the start of the level you will see three mounds in the distance. This is exactly what you are looking for. ############################################################################### (I) THE POKEMON ############################################################################### Contrary to what I was previously told about this game, it DOES NOT feature all 151 pokemon in it. Instead it includes merely 63 of them. The pokemon that are included are as follows. # Name Levels 001 Bulbasaur 4,5 004 Charmander 3 005 Charmeleon 3 006 Charizard 3 011 Metapod 4 012 Butterfree 1 014 Kakuna 2 016 Pidgey 1 025 Pikachu 1,2,4,5 027 Sandshrew 6 028 Sandslash 6 037 Vulpix 3 039 Jigglypuff 5 041 Zubat 2,5 045 Vileplume 4 050 Diglett 2 051 Dugtrio 2 052 Meowth 1 054 Psyduck 4 056 Mankey 6 058 Growlithe 3 059 Arcanine 3 060 Poliwag 4 070 Weepinbell 5 071 Victreebel 5 074 Geodude 6 075 Graveler 6 078 Rapidash 3 079 Slowpoke 4 080 Slowbro 4 081 Magnemite 2 082 Magneton 2 084 Doduo 1 088 Grimer 5 089 Muk 5 090 Shellder 4 091 Cloyster 4 093 Haunter 2 101 Electrode 2 109 Koffing 5 113 Chansey 1 115 Kangaskhan 1 118 Goldeen 6 120 Staryu 6 121 Starmie 6 123 Scyther 1 124 Jynx 5 125 Electabuzz 2 126 Magmar 3 129 Magikarp 1-6 130 Gyarados 6 131 Lapras 1 132 Ditto 5 133 Eevee 1 137 Porygon 4 143 Snorlax 1 144 Articuno 5 145 Zapdos 2 146 Moltres 3 147 Dratini 6 149 Dragonite 6 151 Mew 7 ############################################################################### (J) ADVANCED STRATEGIES ############################################################################### Bricklayer J. Gastronomy Here I will outline ways to get higher scoring pictures of each pokemon. --------- Bulbasaur --------- In level four, you can get three of them in a shot, just knock 'em out of the tree trunks with pester balls, and get them in a group with pokemon food. As for stage five, use food to get them close together, just don't use any pester balls, or they become dittos. ---------- Charmander ---------- Let the Zero-one get stopped by the egg on the track, then toss some food to the two charmanders on your left, they will then call their friends. Try to get up to six of them in your shot. ---------- Charmeleon ---------- You can get a good picture of the one at the end of the stage. Or you can toss some food between the magmar and the charmander near the beginning. Once the charmander gets burned it will evolve, if you take you picture as it is evolving you will get a bonus. --------- Charizard --------- Simply knock the charmeleon at the end of the stage into the lava. Try hitting the charizard for a nice pic of it breathing fire at you. -------- Squirtle -------- At the beginning of the stage you will see a few Squirtle shells on the surface of the water. All you need to do is hit them at enough of an angle with a pester ball that they bounce to the little bit of land to the left. Then lure them with food, and snap away. ------- Metapod ------- You will find these hanging high in the trees. Use pester balls to get them down to your height, and snap away. ---------- Butterfree ---------- Simply watch their circular flight pattern, and try to get them when they are facing you. You can get 2-3 in your pic, to the right of the bridge near the end of the stage. ------ Kakuna ------ They rise and fall near the beginning of the stage. Also you can make them fall by causing a nearby electrode to self-destruct. ------ Pidgey ------ Wait until the end of the stage, and take a picture of the two that are attacking the meowth for a nice bonus. (Gust-using Pidgey) ------- Pikachu ------- These can be found all over the place, getting a good close-up of them is easy. However many other bonuses can also be obtained. For the first one all you need to do is play your flute near a Pikachu and it will start shooting lightning around. For the next one start tossing food past the Pikachu that you see near the beginning of the Beach stage, to lure it towards the nearby surfboard lying in the sand. Once atop it, he will strike a pose, take your pic. If you can get the first Scyther on the beach to come out of the bushes(with a pester ball) then two Pikachus will be on tree stumps later in the stage. If you get both of 'em while they are shocking, you will get major points. At the start of the Tunnel, if you take a pic of the Pikachu standing on your right, it will run over to another spot. If you take a pic of it in that spot, it will jump onto an electrode and start running on it, for a funny pose. "Speed Pikachu" can be found near the end of the river stage. You hit the Pikachu standing on the tree trunk with food or a pester ball, and it will start dashing back and forth, lightning quick. If you can get it on film, you get the bonus. The next two bonuses are well worth it if you can get them, and for this reason they are also the toughest for Pikachu. The first one is "Balloon Pikachu" in the cave level. What you do is try to hit the Zubat that is carrying Pikachu near the end of the stage with a pester ball. If you succeed Pikachu floats down with the help of a bundle of balloons. The next bonus is "Flying Pikachu" also found in the cave stage. While "Balloon Pikachu" is floating to the ground you need to get the Articuno out of its egg via the nearby Jynx. Once it is free it will fly around a bit. If you look behind you and wait until just before the exit of the stage you will see Pikachu riding Articuno. Snap this one for a well deserved 2000 point bonus. Though it is tough to get a close-up of this shot, so a close-up "Balloon Pikachu" will probably end up as a higher scoring picture for you. --------- Sandshrew --------- Knock the geodudes off the walls with pester balls. When they hit the ground, the sandshrew will surface. Lure them together with food, for a group shot. --------- Sandslash --------- Knock the two Geodudes off the wall with pester balls, a Graveler will then fall. Once it hits the ground, Sandslash will pop out. Use food to get it closer to you, and facing you. ------ Vulpix ------ Lure the first one you see ahead of you to the other two with food, then get a good group shot. ---------- Jigglypuff ---------- Halfway through this stage you will see a jigglypuff being chased by a Koffing. Hit the Koffing, to free the Jigglypuff, repeat this with two more Koffing/Jigglypuff pairs in this room. Then shortly after the Articuno egg you will hear Jigglypuff singing. Look to your right and you will see one of them singing, and the other two dancing. Get all three in the picture for a good bonus. ----- Zubat ----- Easy to get close up pictures of in stage two, when any door opens be ready. However for multiple Zubat pictures, go to stage five. Take pictures of every Zubat at the start of the level, there should be about six. Then at the end of the stage, at the Jigglypuff part right before the exit, look slightly up, and you will see three Zubats flying in formation. --------- Vileplume --------- Look for some smoke rising from a reddish flower on the right side of the river. Play your flute and *POP* Vileplume appears for an easy pic. ------- Diglett ------- You will find next to a Pikachu, just take pics when close to it. Though make sure you get all the pics you need before it becomes Dugtrio. (See below) ------- Dugtrio ------- Take a picture of the Diglett by Pikachu. It will burrow over to a new spot, take another picture of it there. Repeat this once more, and a Dugtrio will surface. Now you can repeat the above procedure with the Dugtrio. Once you take individual pictures of the three successive Dugtrios, three will emerge at once for a group picture. ------ Meowth ------ The best spot for a Meowth pic is where you see one poking its head over a platform. Hit it with a pester ball from a distance, so that it will be awake by the time you go around the platform. Then play your flute for a good dancing shot. (You can also use food for an eating pose) ------- Psyduck ------- Hit the last Metapod that you see down from the roof with a pester ball, this will stop you from moving. Now you have all the time in the world to get a good pic of the Psyduck to your left. ------ Mankey ------ You want the Mankey at the end of the level, where you see three Squirtles. Two of them will take off, and leave the third one. Wait until you are lined of between the Squirtle and the Mankey, then hit the Squirtle with a pester ball. It will then fly up towards the Mankey and knock it off the mountain. On the other side you can get great pictures of it by the level switch. --------- Growlithe --------- Go to the spot where you find the Charmeleon near the end of the stage. Look to your right and you will see three craters, throw a pester ball into them and out pops a Growlithe. Though there is also a chance that an Arcanine will pop out instead, it's all luck. If your aim and luck is good you can get three Growlithes, one from each crater for a good group shot. -------- Arcanine -------- Go to the spot where you find the Charmeleon near the end of the stage. Look to your right and you will see three craters, throw a pester ball into them and out pops a Arcanine. Though there is also a chance that a Growlithe will pop out instead, it's all luck. If your aim and luck is good you can get three Arcanines, one from each crater for a good group shot. ------- Poliwag ------- You will see them in the bushes to your right at the start of the level. Use pester balls to force them all to one location, them use pester balls there to send them running down the hill, (good close-up) and into the water. ---------- Weepinbell ---------- About halfway through the level you will see it circling a pool of water. Just wait until it is close and facing you, and snap it. ---------- Victreebel ---------- Hit the Weepinbell mentioned above with a pester ball, and knock it in to the pool of water. After a few seconds it emerges as Victreebel, try to get all of it in the picture. (kind of tough with the tentacles) ------- Geodude ------- You'll see a few of them hanging from the valley walls. Simply knock one down with a pester ball, and get a good close-up. -------- Graveler -------- You will see three of them hanging on to one wall, simply play your flute and they will jump off. They will then start to dance, try to get all three in the picture while they are dancing for a bonus. -------- Rapidash -------- You will see these coming towards you at the start of the level. Use food to get one in a bonus pose, and try to get the other two in the background. -------- Slowpoke -------- Very easy to get, this pokemon is slow moving, just sit back, relax, and snap a close-up when the time is right. ------- Slowbro ------- For this one you need to hurry a bit. As soon as you see either of the two Slowpokes in this level, start tossing food on to land to the right of them. Being such lazy pokemon it will take its time in reaching your food. You are trying to get it close to the signpost, which has a picture of a Shellder. It will then dip its tail in the water, after a few seconds a Shellder bites its tail and it evolves into Slowbro. --------- Magnemite --------- You will find this pokemon near the end of this level. Try to lure them close together with food. However be careful, because if they get too close together they will start to link together. (you want them separated) Also the magnemite will screw up your camera if you try to take a picture of them normally, they need to be distracted by food for your pictures to turn out. -------- Magneton -------- Simply lure the three Magnemite close enough together that they link up, and become Magneton. Also the magneton will screw up your camera if you try to take a picture of them normally, they need to be distracted by food for your pictures to turn out. ------ Grimer ------ You will see two of these at the start of the level. They are quite far away, but you need to take their pictures anyway. By doing this you will cause others to appear nearby. Take a picture of the third Grimer, and turn to your right until you see the fourth Grimer. This is the one you want, if you got the pictures of the other three fast enough you should be able to get a great close-up of Grimer number four. (also you can use food to get it facing you) --- Muk --- Use the method above to get Grimer number four to appear. Then hit it with two or three pester balls, it will then evolve into Muk. make sure that it is facing the right way BEFORE it evolves, because afterwards it is tough to manipulate. ----- Doduo ----- This pokemon is quite fast and appears at the start of this stage. You can either take a close-up pic of it running, or you can knock it out with a pester ball and get a pic of it on the ground. -------- Shellder -------- These will pop out of the water in various locations in this stage. When a group of four come out, it is probably your best chance for a group shot. Also you could try getting a close-up of one as it falls back into the water. (You may need to use turbo for this) -------- Cloyster -------- These only appear if you take pics of Shellders. The first one appears shortly after a group of Shellder. If you take its pic, another appears, if you get that one's pic, another appears. Try for as close a shot as you can get of any of these three, and make sure it is facing you. ------- Haunter ------- These are found midway through the level, but they look a little bit different than normal. Instead of looking like big purple ghosts, they look like glowing purple spheres with smoke trailing behind them. Simply take a picture of them in this form, and they will look like they should when you check your film at the end of the stage. Also they always face the same direction that they are traveling in. --------- Electrode --------- There are plenty of these scattered in the beginning of this stage. ------- Koffing ------- Midway through the level you will see a Jigglypuff being chased by a Koffing. Don't hit the Koffing yet, instead wait a bit, and use a bit of turbo. It will then turn around and come towards you, making a good close-up. ------- Chansey ------- Midway through the level you will see a pink ball rolling around on the ground. This is Chansey, hit it with food/ball and it will jump up, and catch its egg. Use food to get it facing you, and it makes for a nice pose. ---------- Kangaskhan ---------- You will see it facing away from you, just past the Chansey mentioned above. Simply hit it with food/ball, and it will turn 'round, come closer to you, and roar at you. During any of this, you can get a good pic. ------- Goldeen ------- These only appear in this stage, and only at the beginning or the end. What you need to do is start tossing food/balls into the water, and keep doing it, until a Goldeen appears. Now sometimes it just sticks its head out of the water, then submerges, other times it leaps into the air and pauses for a second before falling. However because of the random nature of this pokemon, you will need very quick reflexes, and steady aim. It is very difficult to get a REALLY close-up picture of Goldeen, and because of this you don't lose points as easily in the size category. ------ Staryu ------ You will find three of these midway through the stage, floating in the air. Once you take a pic of one, it starts to spin around you quickly. If you take pics of all three then they will all spin around you, which increases your chances of getting a pic of all three of them. ------- Starmie ------- For every Staryu that you take a picture of using the method above, you will have one more Starmie to catch on film. So if you take pics of all three Staryus, then they will evolve into three Starmies once they leap into the whirlpool. Starmies are quick like Staryus, so just be patient, but persistent. ------- Scyther ------- Midway through this stage you will see a Pidgey & a Meowth emerge from some bushes to your left. Hit the meowth with a pester ball when it is crossing the track. This will temporarily stop your vehicle, now turn left and start throwing pester balls into the bushes where you see leaves flying up. Keep trying until you flush out Scyther, it will then hover above the bushes, slash a few times, then fly away. ---- Jynx ---- Midway through the level you will see two Jynxes around an Articuno egg. Start playing your flute, and as you pass the first Jynx turn around and get a nice close pic of it dancing/singing. ---------- Electabuzz ---------- These are easy to get, they can be found throughout this stage. (Hitting them with food/balls gets them angry, and they sometimes attack.) ------ Magmar ------ Near the end of this stage, just after the Moltres egg, you will see two Magmars. If you toss some food between them in the right spot, you can get a close-up picture of them attacking each other. -------- Magikarp -------- These are the worst pokemon in the Pokemon game for Gameboy. I suppose for that reason they are also the most common. You can find Magikarp in EVERY level, except the Rainbow Cloud stage. Basically anywhere there is water you should toss food/balls into it. Just like Goldeen, Magikarp is quite fast, so you have to be fast to get a good pic on film. If you want though you can cheat, sort of. In the valley stage you can get the first Mankey to punch the Magikarp over the mountain. Then when you reach the other side and find it again you can just take a close-up pic of it flopping on the land. -------- Gyarados -------- At the start of this level you should see a Magikarp jumping in the water. Start throwing pester balls at it, and keep doing this until you knock it onto land. It will then start flopping towards a Mankey, who then punches it, sending it sailing over the mountain. Keep going until you see the three Gravelers on the wall, then that Magikarp will land in front of you. Hit it with a pester ball and it will flop behind a waterfall, then a Gyarados will burst out, roar at you, and spit water at you. All making great pics. ------ Lapras ------ Before the snorlax in this stage, look to your right, out into the water and you should see a Lapras in the distance. Take its pic, then right across from where a Meowth runs out of some bushes, you should see two more Lapras. Take their pics too, look to the right as you cross the bridge for another one to take a pic of. If you have taken pics of all the above Lapras' then you will see a close-up one just before the kangaskhan, and if you're careful, you can get two other Lapras' in the background of your shot. ----- Ditto ----- If you look carefully at the Bulbasaurs in this stage you will notice that their eyes look a little weird when compared to those in the River stage. This is because they are not real Bulbasaurs, hit 'em with pester balls to get them to reveal their true form. Then get the three Dittos together with food for a group pic. ----- Eevee ----- This is found chasing the Chansey in this stage. Simply stop the Chansey, then lure the Eevee closer to you with food, or hit it with a pester ball for a cruel (but funny) pic for your personal album. ------- Porygon ------- After you pass the Psyduck in this stage look closely at the sides of the cliff on your right. There are spots where you will see little triangles moving, these are Porygons. Use a pester ball in these spots to flush 'em out. ------- Snorlax ------- You will find this LARGE, lazy pokemon midway through this stage. Simply start playing your flute to get a good pic of it dancing. You can also use a pester ball on it, to get a less exciting pose of it scratching itself. -------- Articuno -------- When you find the egg in this stage just play you flute, and the two Jynx will break it open. You can then take as many pics as you need of Articuno. ------ Zapdos ------ When you find the egg in this stage start throwing apples near it to lure the Pikachu close to it. Once the Pikachu is near it, start playing your flute. It will start zapping the egg, and Zapdos will be released. ------- Moltres ------- This pokemon is so easy to find it's a joke. Just wait until your vehicle gets stopped by the giant egg on the track, then hit the egg with food/ball. It will fall into the lava, and Moltres will come flying out. ------- Dratini ------- This pokemon can be found all over this stage. Like Magikarp and Goldeen, in order to flush it out you must toss food/balls into the water. Now Dratini is thin and long, so sometimes it can be tough to get it all in the pic, but try your best, and keep your camera straight. --------- Dragonite --------- Near the end of the stage where the whirlpool, is where you'll find this pokemon. Simply toss 4 pester balls into the whirlpool and get your pic. --- Mew --- This pokemon has a level all to itself, also the battle is a long one, Mew goes through 3 stages. Stage 1: Mew is floating left to right in front of you in a protective green shield. Keep your camera centered, and throw food/balls so that it hits him while he passes by. Hit him three times and he loses his green shield and gets downgraded to a yellow one. Stage 2: Mew now flies towards you and goes either left or right. Try to judge where he's going and hit him with food/balls. You'll only get 1-2 tries each time he passes because of his speed. Once you hit him three times He loses his shield completely, now you are able to take pictures of him freely. Stage 3: Mew will pass you on either the left or the right and head forward towards his lost shield. Look straight ahead, and once you know what side he is on quickly line up your throw so that it hits him. He will spin around a few times if hit, and then teleport to his shield. (Which begins stage 2 again) So what you must do is keep hitting him so that he can't teleport, keep doing this until he is close enough to get a good picture of. ############################################################################### (K) CHALLENGE SCORES ############################################################################### Once you get all 63 pokemon in the report, Dr. Oak will activate a challenge score for each of the seven stages. If you beat all seven of them, you should congratulate yourself, because that's the closest thing you'll get to a reward. (meaning you don't get anything in the game for doing this) Here are some tips to help you beat all seven challenge scores. For every level try to get ONE picture of each Pokemon, and save the rest of your film for the situations mentioned below. Beach: Take lots of "Surfing Pikachu". Tunnel: Take lots of "Pikachu on a Ball" (Electrode). Volcano: Get lots of the six Charmanders. River: Get lots of an up-close metapod, with more in the background. Remember, use the last metapod to stop your vehicle from moving. Cave: Get lots of Victreebel, and the Jigglypuff singing/dancing trio. Valley: Get lots of the three dancing Gravelers. Rainbow Cloud: Use ALL your film on Mew (duh!), and make sure the pictures are from close-up. Eg: Hit Mew with an apple/ball, take 3-5 pics, hit it again, repeat until 60 pics have been taken. ############################################################################### (L) EXPERIMENTAL ############################################################################### For a little while now I've had a paypal link in all my FAQs at the very bottom here. Mainly as a small experiment since a few other FAQ authors have also had the same idea. I had a few people email me before I put this link in because they wanted to send money, so it's here for those people. I've been getting cases of energy drinks and making some excellent progress on a few FAQs & maps. If you don't want to send money or can't then send me an email, it's nice to hear what people thought about my work and there's always room for improvement. My email address and paypal address for those that want to contribute are both dan.engel.2017 (AT) gmail (DOT) com Many thanks, and I hope you continue to use my work! ~Dan
